Dream's Fading Shadow

Something was definitely off with her mind; her research had come to a screeching halt. Now, not only was the beast haunting her, but also those weird dreams about that unicorn.
She let out a heavy sigh.
“I’ve got to do something about this…” she said, springing up from her seat like a jack-in-the-box.
She spent the day trying to figure out what was making her feel so off. Could it be stress? Oh, how she wished it were just that.
“Maybe there’s a connection between the creature and king Sombra…” she mused, pondering the mystery like a detective on a sugar rush. It was bizarre: she barely understood the creature, and now she was stuck in nightmares featuring a monster she’d rather avoid.
“A curse, perhaps?” she murmured, lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling.
Looking at the small details of the ceiling, she allowed herself to relax. It was exactly what she needed: a break from everything. She closed her eyes for a moment. Felling Asleep.
She opened her eyes only to find a massive black shadow in front of her.
“You…!” she exclaimed, jumping towards the shadow. “Where have you been?”
The creature huffed, turned around, and gave her a big, sloppy lick on the cheek. Twilight realized that the sensation with this creature was a whole different ballgame compared to King Sombra. If they were the same entity, that theory was out the window.
“I think I even missed you…” she said, sighing heavily.
The creature, sensing her distress, rested its head against her and began to nuzzle her gently.
“Wait, my hair!” Twilight said with a laugh as the creature played with her mane.
The being moved away a little, lay down, and began to stare into the void with a fixed gaze.
“You’re not as talkative today… as usual,” Twilight commented.
Though she had never managed to get it to speak, she no longer considered it a threat. She even thought she wouldn’t mind if it decided to stay involved with all of this. She blushed slightly.
She settled down next to it, enjoying the unusual but comforting company in the silence.
She opened her eyes and found that she was no longer with the creature. Again. At what point did she fall asleep? She sighed, unable to remember how many times this had happened. Why did she keep having these bizarre dreams within dreams?
She knew what was coming.
She sat wherever she was.
“3, 2, 1…” she began counting.
“What are you doing, little one?” he asked, his voice laden with malice.
“There you are…” Twilight said, unperturbed, since she was already familiar with the pattern. Now she wondered what kind of crazy plot would unfold in this dream.
“What do you want now?” Twilight asked impatiently.
“What are you going to do, Twilight? Run away and hope I leave you alone? Go cry to your little friends in Ponyville? They’re powerless to stop me, and you know it.” He leaned in closer, his eyes gleaming with malice. “I will find you. I will find you wherever you go. Because there is no escape from me. There never has been,” he said suddenly, tightening his grip and pulling her even closer. “There never will be.”
“What the heck are you even talking about?” she asked, no longer surprised by everything. It was as if she already knew the pattern. But what she could never predict was the way he looked at her, like a beast wanting to devour her.
Her face warmed under his gaze. Still, she fought back as best as she could.
He grabbed her and slammed her against the wall. His hot breath felt on her face, and his eyes burned into hers; his grip was strong and filled with malice.
“Ouch…!” she exclaimed, her voice trembling. What was that? It felt way too real to be just a dream.
“Don’t ignore me,” he growled in a dark, threatening voice, his eyes like pits of hellish fire. “Stop thinking…” He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a rough whisper, his breath brushing her face. “And just focus on me.”
His grip was too strong. His words were affecting her. Even as she resisted, she could still feel it—his desire.
“Let me go!” she shouted. But it was useless.
His eyes darkened even further as he stared at her, his gaze sharp and filled with malice. He held her in place with his power, and her heart raced. She felt weak, her legs starting to tremble as her will crumbled.
Her heart pounded, her breath came in short, gasping bursts as she tried to suppress the overwhelming, terrible feeling.
Desperately wanting to resist, but her body refused to listen, and her mind felt clouded.
“Just… let me… go, okay?” she whispered, barely audible.
“Oh, but there’s nowhere to go,” he said with a cruel glint of delight. He lifted his helmet and touched her cheek, his touch cold and harsh. “Didn’t you hear me?” he asked, his eyes shining. “I always get what I want.” He leaned in closer, his face inches from hers. “And I want you.”
Without warning, his lips brushed against hers in a rough, demanding kiss. Twilight's eyes widened in shock, her heart racing as his kiss sent a jolt through her. It was intense, a mixture of fear and unexpected passion that left her breathless.
She tried to pull away, but his hold was unyielding. The kiss deepened, and she could feel the heat of his body against hers. Her mind whirled, struggling to process the emotions surging through her.
“No…” she whispered against his lips, her voice barely audible before his kiss silenced her completely.
Just as she started to lose herself in the kiss, he pulled away abruptly.
His eyes, still filled with dark intensity, locked onto hers.
“Time’s up,” he said abruptly, his voice cold and final. “Our little game ends here.”
With that, he stepped back, leaving Twilight breathless and disoriented. The dreamscape around her began to fade, and she felt a jarring shift as if the ground was slipping from beneath her.
