It has been 23 years since the end of the Great War, and Equus has changed much since then. The ponies of Equestria no longer serve a Princess, but an Empress styling herself as a deity. Meanwhile, the once disparate creatures of northern Equus now stand united in a confederation of equals, one that does not bow to the God-Empress in the south.
As the scars of the Great War heal, new ones are about to be created in the name of ideology and conquest. War looms and a young Equestrian enlistee is about to find himself at the forefront of it.
