The complicated life of Mare do well
King Sombra Arc: Chapter I
The battle raged on as the hero fought against the villains. The heroes were losing the battle with some of them having been down for the count. As the villain stood amongst the heroes smiling evilly they raised their hands to strike the finishing blow. Just as the beam was about to strike the heroes a black transparent shield appeared in front of them alongside a certain young Hero.
Mare do well stood there with her hands raised holding up the shield with all her might. She stood there in a purple trench coat with the same color pants the reached below her knees. Her legs were wrap in dark blue bandages same with her arms as it covered her forearms. Her mask covered her whole head was the same color as her wrapped bandages and cape. She wore a that was more like a cowboy but dyed the same color as her coat.
As held up the shield as her leather gloves was starting to tear. She was struggling to hold the shield in place so she sent one of her clones to hold it while she went to look for the green chains that were holding super-mare. She found her limp in the chains looking weak. She ran towards her favorite hero, grasping the chains. She focused her energy on the chains as dark tendrils slid along the chains. The beam had long since died down.
When she was done she saw her hero regain her energy and break out of the chains. Brainiac yelled no from behind where they stood. In a flash of blue and red super-mare speed blitzed her way over to where the villain was, crushing the mechanical robot and leaving nothing but scraps of metal behind. The head of Brainiac rolled on the ground towards Mare do well its green eyes flickering on and off before going out for good.
The heroes stood up ready to face the remaining villains before them, right as the about to charge the cold reality of the world of the waking came crushing down on our young hero.
Shade crimson woke from her dream as her maid came in to open the curtains. "Wake up mistress it time to get up" The maid called out. She made her way over to the bed where her mistress lay. "Your friend Rainbow dash is down stairs"
That made Shade's ears perk up. In rush she set to get dressed but stopped when her tail was pulled. She looked as her maid pulled her toward her. As she was in arms reach the maid sat her down in front of her dress her an began to comb her hair. The maid in question is Shadow Charm And had been her maid since before she was born. The other person that was here before she was born was her twin sister and body guard Scarlet charm.
Despite the last name they were completely different, whereas Shadow was a lot more caring and loving Scarlet was cold and distant. Where Shadow had a light pink coat and purple mane that was styled in a neat bun, Scarlet had a dark purple coat with pink mane that was styled in a side Mohawk covering her left eye.
As shadow was done She pulled her casual school clothes on the bed for shade to wear. " Is mom coming back to today?' She asked not really sure if today would be the day that her mother be here, that was not the reason she asked.
"No, the Missus hasn't told us anything yet."
"Oh good" She said as she fixed her clothing. After she was done she went downstairs, as soon as she did she saw Rainbow dash arm wrestling with scarlet. The former struggling to stop her arms from touching the table which was inches away from doing so. Shade made her way to the end of the table where she saw her breakfast which she quickly ate.
She looked at the two arm wrestling ponies in front of her. She thought of an idea that would make the both of them stop. "Hey rainbow" she grabbed the hem of her blouse. As soon as Rainbow did look she froze allowing Scarlet to slam her arm down and was about make a comment if not for the blood trickling down Rainbow's nose. She looked towards shade but saw nothing as she ate food like normal.
Rainbow still in shock at what she just saw sat frozen still for nothing could move her. Scarlet on the other hand stood up from her seat and proceeded to go to the front door. Eventually feeling something wet on her forearm she looked down and saw her own blood. she pinched her nose in an attempt to stop the bleeding. " babe you have to stop doing that because if you don't I won't be able to stop myself from taking you here and now" Not really know that her marefriend was right by her ear.
"If you can~" That line sent a chill up Rainbow's spine. Right when she was about to jump her marefriend she was stop by a hand. " As much as I would love you rutting me senseless, we can do that tomorrow night"
"Aw why not?" Obliviously blue balled the blue Pegasus pulled her marefriend into her lap. "We've done it before why can't we do it now?"
"Because I Know myself, the minute you but that in me I won't be able to think about anything for the rest of the day" She said as she noticed Rainbow's smirk. " yes you are that good"
As they were about to continue they were interrupted by a honk outside. Rainbow being the gentlemare that she is Carried her mare friend bridal style outside where the car is. She placed shade in the seat while also buckling her in. They failed to notice a purple earth pony right In front of them .
"You kno-AHHHHHHHH"
Rainbow freaked out and saw Twilight sparkle reading a book as if not noticing her marefriend screaming her lungs out. "Can you please keep it down I'm trying to read. I did not have a great night last night" She rubbed her temple while pushing her glasses
"How did you get in here?" Rainbow asked knowing the answer.
"Ms. Scarlet let me in. We have about thirty minutes to get to school so suggest we get going" She tapped on the glass signalling to start the car and start to drive.
Scarlet noticed bags under Twilight eyes and got to move to the other side of the limo and sat next to Twilight. Twilight for her part didn't seem to notice her Mare friend grabing her head and leaning it towards Shade's lap, She gave no resistance and laid down in her Mare friend's lap. She put her book back in the bag and proceeded to get some sleep for a few minutes.
Rainbow looking jealous decided to change the subject. "So what was so important you had to postpone our love making session to tomorrow night" She said as she rested her chin on her arm.
"I have this really big project i am working on and are going to show it off tonight"
"Can I see it?" Curious as to what this big project is. She new her Marefriend had been working on this project for a while six months infact. Ever since Super-mare saved them from that bus hijack, Shade was the one with the gun to the face. Rainbow could do nothing as her Mare friend was made hostage. She was about to make a move when in flash of red and blue the guy with the gun was flown back towards the wall. When Twilight found out she got into an over protective Mare friend over Shade for about a month. Ever Since that day Rainbow vowed that nothing would happen like that again.
"Well its not for you to see yet. But I will tell you when I'm ready"
"Heh take you time babe no pressure" She also decide to get some sleep because she had a long night ahead of them with a certain mare.
When they reached school Rainbow was the first to get out, After was Twilight then Shade. She looked a Twilight with a concerned expression. "Hey Twilight" She replied with a hum "Please don't stay up at night I don't want to be constantly tired"
Twilight looked at Shade her heart felt a painful twist. She didn't like lying to her she had to in order to protect her from any threat. ever since that day six months ago She had been trying to protect Shade from any known possible threat, even though Shade had convinced her to stopped being a over protective marefriend by managing her schedule staying close to her at all times during the day watching over her during her other 'job', infact that is how Rainbow caught her. Twilight was in constant state of overprotective mode when around her Marefriend
She looked over to Rainbow who looked into her phone not caring about the conversation between her and shade. While Rainbow and Twilight were marefriends to Shade they were not to each other. Both Rainbow and Twilight did not like each other, with Twilight's alert,clever, and quick wittiness verses Rainbow's brash, daring and daredevil attitude they would always find some thing to fight over.
Snapping out of her thought she realized they were already in the hallway. Looking back to her Marefriend who looked at her with the same concerned look. Deciding to respond she had to choose her words carefully. "I'll try" She gave Shade a quick kiss on the lips before walking away from the two.
Rainbow sees Twilight leave and holds Shade close to her side with Shade snuggling close to her Marefriend. "Hey don't mind her she's just trying to look out for you"
" I know, but she doesn't need to do that, I can protect myself"
"Babe look at me" Shade looked in those magenta eyes, the eyes that held so much love that she feel it overflowing. "Ever since that day we have always been on edge. And I know we've been over protective, but we have a good reason." Rainbow held her chin and was about to kiss when the bell rang. She instead whispered in her ear "I like the blue piercings by the way"
With the speed of a cheetah shade ran to class while Rainbow just watched. She chuckled at her embarrassed Marefriend before using her own speed to get to class. Meanwhile in class Shade was Sketching out her emblem, designing the M. She was deep in concentration that she didn't know that the teacher was Infront of her.
"Ms. Crimson what is so important that you had to draw in the middle of my class" The teacher said tapping the ruler on Shade's head. " Perhaps you would like to solve the problem on the board"
Shade looked at the board then back at her note book "Its the square root of 97" She looked at all the question and answered them. 'I didn't spend five years learning nonstop from mom for nothing' Shade had learned everything she knew from her mom from fighting, engineering, biology and surviving from her mom. The only reason why is was even in school was that because Her mom wanted her to make friends and to live a normal life.
The teacher left her alone and proceeded to teach the rest of the class. She felt somepony poke her side, she knew who it was and didn't bother looking. The one beside her was Gilda Grimmfeathers the schools delinquent. Even though they had never had a one on one talk she knew of her rebellious nature and tended to stay away from her. She wondered why she was in class today.
"Hey" Gilda said as she poke her side Which was beginning to hurt because of her sharp claws. "Hey you can't ignore me forever" Just then the bell rang and shade grabbed Gilda's arm and lead her out of the class room. Gilda slipped out of her hand and grabbed her by the waist, she put her on her shoulder. shocked by this she didn't take the time to notice that they were airborne and were flying at a fast rate.
"Put me down" She kept hitting Gilda until she slowed. She put Shade down to the ground while also grabbing her ass. Shocked she punched Gilda in the face blood coating her hand.
Gilda for her part looked like she didn't mind the punch. "Y'know your punches are weak" She said smirking
"says the one who has a bloody nose. By the way if Rainbow ever saw you doing that my punches won't compare what she'll do to you"
Gilda with that same grabbed Shade's arm but before she could pin her Shade swept her legs from under her. As she fell she felt Shade grab her by the collar of her shirt and threw her against the wall. "Damn woman if I didn't know any better I would say you were rough housing me" As she sat the wall with her arm resting on her knee.
"I'm not rough housing anything. I'm just showin you that I don't need my Marefriend to save me all the time" She said as she began to walk away. She stopped just before turning a corner, she looked at Gilda before say "Try that shit again and you'll be dealing with a lot worse person than my Mare friends" Then she turned the corner.
Gilda still kept that same smirk before standing up. Dusting off her pants she felt someone behind her, the smirk on her face disappearing into a frown. "What do you want puffball" She began walking but stopped when her sisters stepped in front of her blocking her way out.
"You know perfectly know what I want" She out stretched her want towards Gilda. She pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the out stretched hand. Once she gave a quick one of the contents of the paper she smiled "Pleasure doing business with you Hawks" She walked past Gilda who scowled at her.

Later in the day during lunch. Shade sat with Rainbow, at first she didn't want to because of the earlier comment. To her surprise she didn't mention it one bit not even hinting at. That was until...
"So when did you do it" She asked Taking a big bite of her chili dog.
"Do what?" She was hoping it wasn't the question she was asking. Rainbow pointed at her breast to let her know what her was talking about. Shade let out a sigh, she knew she could trust her with this information she just couldn't tell her the why. "I was sneaking out of the house to try if I could which I did multiple different times. The last time I snuck out was last Sunday I then thought it would be funny if got one...or two"
Rainbow kept eating like normal, but on the inside she has never felt prouder. oh I am so playing with those when I get the chance Just then she remembered she didn't have to show up until 11Pm. A thought appeared along with a devious smirk. "I know you have that thing wanted to show off tonight, buuuuuuut I want to spend the night with you and it's Friday so we can spend the weekend cuddling"
Shade Just stared at her deadpanned. She knew this trick all too well once she stepped foot in her room Rainbow was going to be all over her and she'd hardly focus. This time however she had a plan she wasn't about be at the end of Rainbow's antics. "Oh i don't know i could let you come over if you do something for me" She asked in suggestive tone.
"What is it"
Shade leaned over the table to whisper something in Rainbow's ear "I dare you to not touch me the entire time in my room unless i permit it. And if you do you have to wear a chastity cage for an entire month."
Rainbow's eyes were the size of dinner plates. There was no way she was going to beat that dare let alone be stuck in a chastity cage she'd break. There were a few choices for this either not go and till tomorrow night or go and spend the night not touching her mare friend and wait until she called for her.
Shade got up before she left she gave Rainbow a long kiss that lasted two minutes. After Shade left Rainbow sat there she felt something missing in her mouth and hand. She checked the former and saw her chili dog was missing then she felt her mouth the chili dog she had in her mouth was gone too Shade must've taken it during the kiss. Chuckling she is so going to pay for that tomorrow night

Later that night Rainbow and Shade were on Shade's bed watching a movie. Rainbow was trying extra hard not to reach over to her Mare friend and cuddle the shit out of her. "Having trouble there Dashie~" She looked over to Shade and saw her shit eating grin, but she came prepared. With slow movements she reached down to her shorts and began to pull the zipper down. Just as she was about to continue the new popped up on screen. Rainbow stopped what she was doing and paid full attention to the screen
On the screen showed a mare in her late twenties standing infront of a building, she was saying that there were Ponies inside after an intense explosion had destroyed the buildings exterior. The Screen switched over to the news anchor where the screen then switched over to another building with the same thing happened to it as the previous one, then a third showed on screen with the same story.
Rainbow dash stood up and looked down at her marefriend "Sorry babe I have to go help a friend" She bent over to kiss Shade. Then she got up and left leaving Shade on the bed.
Shade was left stunned at her marefriend's departure. Shaking her head she had no time for that, this was the perfect time to make her debut. She ran over to her bookshelf and pulled on a specific book just then the book case moved inward and she stepped in.
Inside was various stuff from gadgets to a motorcycle, and finally her most prized possession: her costume. It was the same one from her dream, the outfit imagined wearing when meeting her favorite super hero. She dawned the costume putting on the mask last. Looking in the mirror she looked like a real hero. She turned on the TV in her room to see the news, Batmare and Flash were already at the two scenes leaving the third one hers to save. She jump on her motorcycle which was painted in her color.
Just as she was about to leave the door to her secret room was open revealing Scarlet to come in. She started the motorcycle and revved up the engine. "Listen kid I know I ain't gonna talk you out of this but be careful okay" Mare do well gave a nod as she switched her hat for a motorcycle helmet and set off.
During the ride there she saw a couple of ponies giving looks wondering who this new hero is, at least that's what she told her self in her head. She knew that ponies would see her as a vigilante, but it was great to fantasize. As she she reached her location she grappled onto a building while her bike went into camouflage mode so it would not be seen.
The place where the explosion happened was at one of the four banks in canterlot city. She saw the bank on the building she was perched on and used her X-ray vision to see inside. She counted eleven, five in the main room, five in the vault loading up cash, and one that was different that the others. She jumped across the buildings to the bank.
As she was looking though the plains of the roof she heard a voice in her comms. "Hello Shade" She froze and lifted her hands to her ears. "You thought you and Scarlet could get pass me did you?" Shade was about to respond but Shadow cut her off. "You and I are going to have a serious discussion when you get back do you understand me?"
"Yes ma'am" she said shamefully
"Good now I can see thought your eyes so I know every move you make. If you want to save those ponies you going to have to do this right" Shade responded with a yes before looking back through the plains. She saw the one pony that was different from the rest. While the goon guys looked like goons the mare wore a blue leather jacket and pants with heels that looked long enough to be dangerous. She had on helmet that covered her whole head except for the blue pony tail that poked out from behind it.
"Do you see any way in that I could take them out quietly" She asked
"There is ventilation shaft near you. I've disabled all the fans to make it smother." She went into the shaft and made her way to vault. The vent she crawled lead to the door of the vault door. "Sorry there are no vents that lead into the vault so you'll have to go to the front"
She jumped down from the and made sure that the coast was clear. She went into the vault and saw that the goons were to busy loading. she took out her electric baton and tapped each of the goons knocking them out. She noted she knocked out four of the goons before she felt somepony knock her on the ground.
She got up and charged towards the fifth goon giving him a round house kick to the face knocking him out. She picked up the baton and saw it didn't have enough charge. She sighed, she knew she should have brought two. She tied up all the guards as Shadow that police outside were already trying to make their way inside and that she didn't have much time.
She made her way to the room where the hostages were. She put her back against the wall near the door and listened in. "Listen fillies and gentle colts for tonight's entertainment we shall make the money from this bank disappear" Mare do well leaned into the door frame and saw one of the goon with their backs turned to her. She took the chance and put her arm around his throat holding him for fifteen second then he passed out.
She looked over the receptionist counter to see the mare with arms slung over an innocent mares shoulders. "Careful Shade you don't to alert them to your presence" She gave a hum in response. Mare do well looked over to where the other goons were. She noted two over a group of hostages and the other two by the entrance looking out the window.
She nodded as an idea came to mind. She looked at all the lights and it seems that Shadow caught on. Suddenly all the lights were out. "What the- Where all the lights go?" Mare do well activate night vision as she made her way over to the goons by the hostages. She use the darts that shot of her wrist and dragged the bodies away from the hostages. One of the hostages let out a yelp as they felt one the goons legs moving. This seem to catch the attention of the mare "Hey you two over there you alright?"
Mare do well curse under breath not really ready to fight the mare. She had no choice but to use her remaining darts on the two goons by the door. Once the everypony heard the bodies drop Mare do well saw the mare advance towards her so she sneaked behind the mare and use the same trick she used on the goon earlier. As soon she was about to grab her the mare turned around and grabbed her by the throat.
Mare do well grabbed the mare arms in an attempt to make her release her but it was no use. The mare flung her towards a pillar cracking it and sending bits of debris all over the room. "y'know you had me going there I thought you were Batmare but I'm happy I don't have to be sent to the hospital with bruises" In what little light there was in the room Mare stepped into it revealing What Mare do well couldn't see earlier.
The jacket that she wore had black and blue aesthetic with blue dominating most of the torso and black lines running from the top of the collar bone to the waist where it made a curve during the stomach area, her sleeves had a black and blue running from the shoulders to the wrist. Her pants her the same as the torso With blue in the front and black lines on the side. The mare place her hand on her chest and took a bow "My name is Dusk though that will hardly matter once you're dead"
Mare do well stood up ready to face Dusk before she charged at her. Dusk made a motion with her helmet as if she was rolling her eyes, but didn't see the sweep kick that sent her crashing down. Suddenly the light came revealing Mare do well to the hostages though she had no time to worry about that.
Dusk sent a kick towards Mare do well sending her flying backwards. She landed on her feet skidding to stop once back meet the counter. Shadow yelled in the ear piece to duck and she did, it came with dusk missing her head. She took that time to uppercut Dusk. While she was in the air momentarily Mare do well gave a round house kick sending her back towards another pillar breaking it and sending the pillar to drop on her trapping her.
Mare do well walked over to the hostages and unties the rope. The bank guards stopped her as she was about to go through the vents. She turned as he ask what her name was "Call me Mare do well, Cya" She jumped through the vents and began to crawl out.
When She made her way to her bike she saw a red streak go over to the bank. She chuckled through her x-ray lenses as she saw The Flash checking on the hostages. Just as she about to leave a batarang stuck itself in the pole infront of her. She knew all to well who that batarang belonged to.
She looked up and saw nopony there which confused her. She looked at the batarang and saw it had a message, she picked it from the post and it read:"LAST WARNING LEAVE THE HERO LIFE ALONE"
"Well some pony grumpy" Shadow said As Mare do well drove home leaving the batarang on the ground.

Meanwhile in the batcave Twilight with her cowl off was looking though the footage that cought the last few minutes of Mare do well on screen. Just then she felt a rush of wind blowing against her, she did not need to turn to see that it is Rainbow Dash in her flash costume.
"Hey just came from the bank they said they got saved by some one called Mare do well figured you should know" Dash said as she walk up to monitor seeing the same footage of Mare do well. "Damn she gave her a mean one am I right." Nudged twilight who groaned in annoyance.
"We may have a problem besides this Mare do well" Twilight said as she pulled up a file named Sombra.
"Oh whats that?" Sipping on a drink she brought over from big belly burger.
"It was a distraction. somehow the enemy knew that we were going to investigate and sent out the Dazzlings to keep us busy" She said as she moved over to a touch screen hologram table.
"Why would they do that. unless they needed to move something big that would require our attention elsewhere"
"My thoughts exactly, I checked the security cameras before you arrived and found nothing." Suddenly a big spike appeared in the middle of the city but then died down just as quickly. Twilight was about to investigate the big spike when she found herself in her room and with her suit. She looked at Rainbow who leaned against her door frame arms crossed. If looks could kill Shade would have one lover down.
"Now before you kill me you need to get some rest its just like Shade told you not to overwork yourself."
"I am perfectly fine. I need to figure out what's happening it could lead to something destructive" She to get up but Rainbow sped over to her and held her down.
"I get that your just an earth pony you can't do everything all at once" Rainbow said with concern in her eyes. They may have hated each other but that didn't mean they didn't care about each others well being.
"Fine" Twilight reluctantly pulled the cover over her as she fell asleep in seconds.
Rainbow smiled as she left the room. Walking down the hall Rainbow saw an elderly dragon who stood roughly taller to Rainbow. As the passed each other, giving their greetings Rainbow super sped out of the mansion and to her house. When she reached her room the suit on her body fell away revealing the toned body of Rainbow dash. The suit compressed itself into the ring she wore on her ring finger. As she marveled at her body in the mirror she noticed a picture of her and her marefriend and Twilight looking gloomy, they were all squeezing together in the photo.
That day they were at the amusement park when Shade wanted to get a photo of all of them. Rainbow put her chin on her Marefriend shoulder giving her a kiss on the cheek while Twilight was looking at them frowning. Rainbow chuckled at the memory as laid down face first on the bed and snoozing off to dream land.

A dark room was suddenly lit in a dark purple light as a being sat on her seat with her head rested on her fist with rested on the arm of the chair. Her eyes opened to see a masked figure keeled in front of them. "Did you find her?" The figure asked in voice that sound like two being spoke at the same time.
The masked figure shook their head "No you majesty but we found some pony who does resemble her"
"Bring to me we wish to ask if they know the whereabouts of our wife" The figure nodded before leaving. The being looked out of a window, with a sad sigh she stood and walked over to the window "We wish to try again my love" She said she placed her hand on glass feeling of regret pained its way into her heart as she continued to stare at the moon wishing that she could have one more chance....
