“Sunset, hurry up! We’re about to start the movie!” Rainbow Dash called out.

“Just a second!” Sunset replied. The girls were all gathered at Pinkie Pie’s house for a sleepover/movie night. Sunset was finishing up writing her annual message to Princess Twilight in her magic Journal. Once she was finished, sunset hurried into the living room where the rest of the group was.

“Okay I’m ready.” Sunset said as she took her seat on the couch.

“I’ve got the popcorn!” AppleJack said.

“And I have the sodas!” Said Pinkie Pie.

“So what movie are we watching?” Twilight asked.

“Oh you guys are going to love this!” Rainbow Dash said as she grabbed the remote. “We’re going to watch one of the greatest slasher films ever made, Thrill Kill! It just became available on streaming.”

Rarity got an uneasy look on her face. “I don’t know Rainbow Dash. I’m not really into horror films.”

Fluttershy curled up, hugging her legs and pressing her knees against her face. “I really don’t like blood. Even seeing a tiny amount gives me nightmares.”

Rainbow Dash hugged Fluttershy. “Don’t worry. I’m here to make sure nothing bad happens to you.”

AppleJack wrapped her arm around Rarity and smiled. “Same here, sugarcube.”

“Alright! Let’s start the movie!” Pinkie Pie shouted. Rainbow Dash selected the movie and pressed play.

Meanwhile at Camp Everfree, Gloriosa Daisy was putting equipment away in the storage shed when she was approached by her brother Timber Spruce.

“Gloriosa, are you still putting stuff away?” Timber asked.

“I would have done it sooner, but I had paperwork to fill out. There is more to running a camp than just physical activities you know.”

Timber rubbed the back of his head. “Yeah. I should have helped you earlier but I already had plans with my friends.”

Gloriosa shot him a smile. “Don’t worry about it. At least one of us needs to have a social life.”

“Can I help you with the rest of the equipment?” Timber asked.

“No need.” Gloriosa replied. “ I just need to put away the archery stuff and then I’m done.”

“Okay. I’ll be inside in case you need me.” Timber then walked away to the camp’s head office.

Gloriosa finished putting away the arrows, bows, and targets at the archery range. She was about to close the storage shed when a bright light appeared out of the corner of her eye.

She turned her head to see what it was. To her surprise she saw a stranger wearing a red, hooded cloak. They also wore gloves with metal plates on them and their face was covered by what looked like a metallic gas mask. The stranger then spoke in a deep voice.

“Gloriosa Daisy.”

“Who are you? How do you know my name?” Gloriosa asked in a panicked voice.

“You are guilty.” The stranger then pulled out a 12 inch long dark, serrated knife. Before Gloriosa could call out for help, the stranger quickly ran over and stabbed her right through the heart.

The stranger pulled out the knife and blood gushed out of Gloriosa’s chest, staining her yellow shirt red. Her mouth filled with blood as she fell face forward dead.

Fluttershy woke up screaming from her sleeping bag. Rainbow Dash, who was sleeping next to her, woke up instantly.

“Fluttershy, what’s wrong?” Rainbow Dash asked.

Fluttershy took a moment to catch her breath. “I had a nightmare about that horror movie we saw last night. I told you I don’t like horror movies!”

Rainbow Dash got out of her sleeping bag and moved closer to Fluttershy. She then held Fluttershy in her arms. “I’m sorry. I should have known better. But it was just a bad dream. It’s over now, and I’m right here.” Rainbow Dash then kissed Fluttershy on the cheek which made her smile.

The other girls woke up from their slumber. “What was that noise?” Sunset asked.

“Fluttershy had a nightmare. But don’t worry, took care of it.” Rainbow Dash said reassuringly.

“I knew watching that movie was a bad idea.” Rarity said. “Fortunately I didn’t get any nightmares.”

“That’s because you were holding on tight to me all night long, sugarcube.” AppleJack said with a smile as she playfully nudged Rarity in the side with her elbow. This caused Rarity to blush.

Later that morning everyone was having breakfast. AppleJack cooked pancakes for everyone. Twilight then sat on the couch and turned on the morning news.

“Ugh! I hate the news.” Pinkie Pie said with a look of disgust on her face. “Can’t you turn on something more entertaining?”

“Sorry, but I like to be kept up to date on what’s going on in the world.” Twilight replied.

“Hey, Camp Everfree is on the news.” Sunset pointed out. Twilight turned up the volume.

“Shocking news this morning at Camp Everfree.” One of the news anchors said. “Gloriosa Daisy, co-operator of the camp and the one of the lead counselors, was found brutally murdered this morning by her brother Timber Spruce.”

All of the girls were shocked. They did not make a single noise as the newscast continued.

“Police are still investigating the murder. Gloriosa Daisy’s brother Timber Bruce is not a suspect.”

Twilight quickly grabbed her phone and called Timber. It took a few rings for him to pick up.

“Timber, I just saw the news. What happened?”

Timber was crying so hard that he could barely speak. “I…I don’t know! I went into the main cabin to do some last minute cleaning, and then I sat on the couch to watch the baseball game. I dozed off, and when I woke up I couldn’t find Gloriosa anywhere. I checked around outside and that’s when I found her. She was in a pool of her own blood!”

“Did the police find anything at the crime scene?” Twilight asked.

“No, not even footprints.” Timber replied. “It’s as if she was killed by a ghost.”

Twilight gave Timber some encouraging words and then hung up. She then informed the rest of the girls of what Timber had told her.

Fluttershy began to shake with fear. “This is just like that horror movie we saw come to life!”

“Who could do such a horrible thing?” Rarity asked.

Sunset sat down on the couch next to Twilight. “This is just so hard to believe. Gloriosa was such a sweet, kind hearted person. Why would anyone want to do something so horrible to her?”

Pinkie Pie, AppleJack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash joined Sunset and Twilight on the couch. They all embraced each other in a big hug, not making a single sound.
