My little Devil Trigger, Friendship is Deadweight
"Let's get airborne!" Nero said as he spun around in the air while using the Red Queen like a surfboard. The three demons below him looked up in confusion as he rode into battle. Despite the odd entrance of the devil hunter, the demons were always prepared for a fight. They hoped to cherish every single drop of blood they could get from the bloodline of Sparda. Nero didn't even let the demons finish that thought as he used his devil breaker to pull one of the demons closer to him so he could deliver a few swift strikes in midair with his sword.
Nero brutally ravaged the demon with efficiency and style before kicking him back down towards the ground. Nero then fired a couple shots from his Blue Rose before landing on the ground; "All right, who's up next" Nero said arrogantly as he taunted the other two demons in front of him to come at him. The demons (being the stupid simple-minded creatures that they are) mindlessly charged at Nero thinking they had a fraction of a chance of landing a strike against him. Unfortunately for them, Nero was an experienced devil hunter, not some wannabe hero off the street.
Without even breaking a sweat, Nero effortlessly dispatched the two demons that foolishly charged at him. All the while making a complete mockery out of them for added style points. The demon who was kicked down earlier saw his comrades being decimated by the spawn of Sparda and chose instead to retreat in that moment; "And where do you think you're going?" Nero said as he used his buster arm devil breaker to effortlessly pick up the demon off the ground. The demon silently whimpered as he was thrown towards the nearest wall and then finished off by a swift strike of Nero's sword.
"Welp, I guess that wraps that up. It was fun playing with you guys, but I've got a score to settle." Nero said to himself as he proceeded to continue on his journey through the Qliphoth; "Man these demons are all the same. Mindless and stupid, but they take too long to kill. At this rate, Dante will probably beat me to the bottom."
It was in that instant that a portal appeared in front of him. The other side of the portal looked to be more of the Qliphoth but perhaps deeper down; "What's this? A shortcut? I guess today is my lucky day. Look out Dante, I'm gonna show you once and for all who's the dead weight."
Upon stepping through the portal, Nero noticed how the Architecture of the place shifted to appear more bug like; "Gross, I already hate this place." Nero said as he looked around his surroundings. It was then that he saw a bunch of tiny black horse like bug creatures with holes in their legs coming out of the walls and hissing at him; "Oh great, more demons." Nero said as he then revved up his sword and quickly loaded his gun; "Alright you ugly excuses for living beings, which one of you wants to play first?"
A few of the changelings then jumped out at him all at once, intending to just pin him down and put him in a cocoon so they can extract some love from him. They quickly realized however that this was a horrible mistake. In the blink of an eye, Nero effortlessly sliced through the aggressors in one swift strike, resulting in them being cleanly cut in half. Nero looked surprised as the halves of the now lifeless changeling bodies plopped to the floor; "Oh wow, you guys are even more pathetic than I expected. This is going to be fun." Nero said with a wicked smirk as he turned to look at the other changelings who were now cowering in fear at the sight of him.
The changelings quickly realized they could be just as easily snuffed out like their comrades by this monster, so they decided to turn around and make a not so graceful tactical retreat; "Oh no you don't!" Nero yelled as he began firing his gun wildly at the fleeing changelings. He ends up hitting a few of them, shooting 2 of them fatally in the head and injuring one of them in the leg, causing them to slump helplessly to the ground. Nero then casually walks over to the helpless changeling. It looks at him with a pleading expression, begging for mercy: But it goes ignored as Nero mindlessly stomps down on top of the injured changeling resulting in the end of its life.
Nero then began chasing after the changelings that got away. Along the way, he came across other random changelings who tried to stop him. Despite the best attempts to warn of the dangers of Nero, any changeling that didn't immediately get the memo was mercilessly killed by the heartless monster. Nero ends up slicing through countless changelings as he navigates through the tunnels of the ever-shifting changeling hive.
Eventually, he finds himself in a throne room of sorts, where he encounters the biggest and nastiest looking bug horse demon of them all. Queen Chrysalis looks to her drones and watches as they cower at the sight of this heartless creature; "What creature dares disturb my hive" She yells as Nero enters the room.
As Nero spots the queen, he stops in his tracks and looks at her with a smug expression on his face; "Hey Queen bug butt, what's up with your minions being all pathetic? Aren't you guys supposed to be a challenge for me? I'm slicing through them like ribbons."
Chrysalis gets visibly angry at Nero acting all nonchalant about killing her precious children. The cowering changelings in the room have never seen their queen this angry, and now they don't know whether they should be more afraid of the intruder or their queen; "How dare you insult my drones and wipe them out as if they were nothing but playthings to you! By the time I'm finished with you, I'm going to have you begging for the same mercy you denied my subjects! And then I will-"
Nero impatiently fired a bullet at the queen causing the changelings in the room to gasp. The world went still for a second as Chrysalis went wide eyed at the bullet rapidly approaching her in those split milliseconds. Luckily, she managed to raise a magical shield just in time to block the attack, causing the bullet to not hit her directly, but still do quite a number on the shield.
In this moment, Chrysalis realized just how powerful her foe was. She looked towards her cowering subjects in the corner and quickly raised her voice; "Drones! Get out of here! I'll hold him off!" The changelings in the room slowly got up but hesitated to follow her orders; "But my queen, we need you in order to survive-" one of the changelings protested; "I said go! That's an order!" Chrysalis spat out as Nero fired another bullet at the shield, putting it on the verge of breaking.
With tears in their eyes, the changelings in the room fled as fast as they could; "Aright bug queen, like it or not. A demon is a demon. Doesn't matter how easy they are to take down. They all must die!" Nero yelled as he jumped into the air and slammed his sword down on Chrysalis's shield.
Chrysalis attempted to hold her shield as long as possible but eventually it gave out and disappeared leaving her completely defenseless. Chrysalis fell onto her back as Nero slowly approached her and looked down at her as if almost feeling sorry for what he was about to do; "You have any last words you'd like to say, demon?"
Chrysalis looked up at him, both in fear and confusion; "I don't even know what you are talking about." Chrysalis said in a panic, knowing her time was probably up. After hearing those words come out of Chrysalis's mouth, Nero grabbed her long neck using his buster arm devil breaker. Chrysalis choked hard as his firm grip closed her tight air way.
Nero fully intended to crush her neck, right then and there. But just before he did, a large van then suddenly crashed through the wall behind him, and he loosened his grip a little. Nico then leaned her head out the window of the driver's seat; "Nero! There you are! Been lookin all over for ya!" Nero smirked as he looked back towards Nico with the Queen still held firm in his grasp; "Perfect timing Nico. Was just about to finish up business here."
"Yeah uh, that's the thing, we're not in the Qliphoth right now. We're apparently in some kinda alternate dimension." Nero then suddenly went wide eyed and released his grip on the queen, causing her to fall down to the ground to catch her breath, "What?" Nero said in shock.
"Yeah it's true. Only thing my devil tracker is picking up is your signal around here. This area is completely demon free." Nico said as she pulled out a device to show Nero the proof. Nero walked over towards the van and looked at the device; "Where'd you even get this? You make it yourself?"
Nico smiled back at Nero and simply said "Yep" as she nodded her head in approval. "Figures" Nero said as he grumpily got inside the van; "Come on sourpuss, let's get you back on the right track. We still have a job to do." Nico said as she drove her van back towards the portal.
Chrysalis just laid there, still in shock at what just transpired before her. That creature had the nerve to just storm into her hive, mess things up, and then have the audacity to just leave like it was all some big misunderstanding. After regaining her breath, Queen Chrysalis shouted only one thing: "Drones! Your queen demands immediate urgent care!"
Two hours later.
"I'm not letting you die!" Nero yelled at the top of his lungs as he ran up towards the top of the Qliphoth, determined to stop Dante and his father Vergil from killing each other. In that moment, he felt invigorated, like nothing could truly stop him. With his newfound determination and purpose, he reached the top of the Qliphoth, determined to stop whatever fighting was going on.
But what he found upon arriving stopped him dead in his tracks. Instead of the bloody battle that he was expecting, Dante, Vergil, and some purple pony he didn't recognize were all sitting down together in lawn chairs, enjoying a cup of tea together; "Oh hey, wouldn't you know, it's the man of the hour." Dante said as he saw Nero looking baffled at the display going on before him.
"Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?" Nero said in bewilderment; "Me and my brother finally learned our lesson." Dante said as he slowly approached Nero.
"Indeed" Vergil said while sipping on his tea; "Twilight Sparkle here stepped in just as we were about to fight and taught us the error of our ways." Twilight Sparkle blushed a bit upon the attention being brought upon her; "Oh it was nothing. As the princess of friendship, I viewed it as important for both of you to move past your sibling disputes and realize that when you both put your differences aside, you make a team that is unstoppable."
Vergil nodded towards Twilight and then began speaking; "All I've wanted all my life was power. But now I realize power only comes at the limitations of oneself. To gain more power, I must have others willing to cover my weaknesses. That is why I've decided to end my dispute with Dante once and for all; and besides, I have a new member of the Sparda family to look after." Vergil said as he looked over to Twilight and she smiled back at him.
Nero looks around confused as to what Vergil was on about so Dante steps in to explain it to him; "Basically what he's saying kid, is that him and Twilight are getting engaged." Nero is absolutely shocked upon hearing the news; "What?!" Nero said in complete bafflement.
"It's true" Vergil said as he got up and stood next to Twilight; "Me and her share the same passion for reading, and with her help, I believe I can achieve an even greater form of power than what I once sought after." Twilight then pitched in; "Plus his demon power as he calls it left me absolutely fascinated with the scientific advancements that could possibly be made to Equestrian society. I'm so happy to have met him after finding this world by pure chance. It took a bit to open a good portal for me to go through, but it was worth it in the end. I just hope my portal experiments didn't end up causing any inconveniences for any pony." Vergil wrapped his hand around Twilight as she said this and she began to blush at the warmth of his hand; "I'm sure it didn't, my dear." Vergil said as he comforted his soon to be wife.
Dante just laughed to himself at seeing the affection his brother was giving to Twilight; "Welp Nero, I guess that settles it. You are going to have a horse for a stepmom soon; and who knows, maybe you'll eventually have a stepbrother too. Then you can be like how me and Vergil used to be. Always fighting with each other." Dante said as he turned to face Nero once more.
Nero dropped his sword to the ground. He then dropped to his knees and pounded his fist into the ground. After a few moments of despair setting in, he looked up towards the sky and let all the emotions he was currently feeling out; "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Meanwhile.
"More love extract my queen?" A changeling said as he and a few others comforted Chrysalis on her royal bed. Chrysalis was covered in makeshift bandages, and she had different medicines that her drones have stolen to help make her throat feel better; "I swear, if I ever find that creature again, I'll- I'll-" Chrysalis then proceeded to cough repeatedly until a fellow changeling helped her out; "Rest my Queen, you have to recover your strength first. Then we can crush the enemy forces and serve the hive." The changeling said as he helped Chrysalis swallow another glass of cough medicine.
Chrysalis coughed and gagged at the awful taste of the medicine. A few moments later, her coughing fit stopped, and she looked over to her drones with a genuine smile and a tear in her eye. The changelings in the room were caught off guard by seeing the queen show any actual emotions. Some even said that it was a myth, but here the Queen was smiling at them and on the verge of tears of having them be around to support her; "Where would I be without you, my children." Chrysalis said softly as she opened up her arms for a hug and the changelings in the room all gathered together in a group hug with their mother.
The changelings then all abruptly stopped hugging after a few moments with them assuming serious faces. Chrysalis then cleared her throat as she spoke; "This is not to leave this room ever. Any drone that gets caught spreading rumors either within or outside the hive will be subjected to harsh discipline. Are we clear?!" The changelings in the room all bowed their head in unison; "Yes my queen."
