Over a thousand years ago, Princess Luna created the thestrals, nightly ponies who, unlike their normal Equestrian counterparts, were loyal to their Majesty and her moon. Among them were Moonflower, a botanist who cultivates flowers of her namesake, and Night Blade, a knight ready to lay down his life for their only Monarch. 

This is their story: how they met, the birth of their daughter Moonlight, and the Uprising, a decade-long war that ravaged both Equestrians and Thestrals as they fought for each other’s one and only princess.
