Adventure at Canterlot High
The start of an adventure
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was the first day of spring break. The weather was nice and sunny, making it a good day to visit a local convention center.
Many people attending was checking out merchandise, meeting up with their favorite people behind their respective fanbases, meeting up with their fellow fans, whatever you'd expect in a convention.
Among one of the many people was a young boy about 15 years old with short auburn hair, amber eyes, and fair skin. His attire consists of an orange and white shirt that has a black stripe in the middle with a white stripe on the sides. Over his shirt he has a biker jacket with a bandana tied around his left sleeve and the image of a star on the right. He also has baggy, navy blue cargo pants with two huge pockets. He wears white shoes that are light blue around the bottom and gray on the top and the sole.
This young man is named Tristen Tenner.
His movements were rather slow compared to the others attending the convention, unsure since this is his first time attending a gathering such as this.
He hardly has many friends, whether at school or in his neighborhood. He's not even sure why he tended to the convention, but it certainly beats spending his time alone in his room.
“Hello there, young man.”
Tristan looked to his right; there he saw a stall run by a man wearing a green colored hood.
“I welcome you, young one! I have an assortment of rare trinkets!” The hooded man to a befuddled Tristen.
“Ok?” Tristen walked to the stall, examining the many items he had in store. These items he had ranged from a fingerless glove styled like the Infinity Gauntlet, a Soul Eater themed keyblade, an electronic that was a hybridization of a D-Tector and a Skannerz Commander, and many other things that were clearly custom made.
“If none of these tickle your fancy, then I do have other things to choose from “The man leans down before pulling out a shoe box. “Something tells me that this belongs with you.”
Upon opening it, Tristen found him gazing at a custom-made replica of the original Omnitrix. It looked like a digital watch with the Omnitrix symbol displayed and the coupling looking somewhat like that of the Omnitrix.
The moment Tristen spotted the device, he felt an attachment to it. He had been a huge Ben 10 fan when he first saw the show, and he always wanted an Omnitrix of his own.
Tristen picks it up to examine it thoroughly. Despite the simple craftsmanship put into it, he felt some sort of strange connection to it.
Tristen looks at the man. “What's the asking price?”
“For you?” The man said, scratching his chin. “Since you're my first customer, its free of charge.”
Tristen was surprised at that. “For real?”
The old man nods. “Plus, I can sense you're a first timer in an event such as this.” The man replied with a soft smile. “Can't walk out of here without something to remember it by, I say.”
Tristen said nothing as the old man strapped the custom Omnitrix on his left wrist. “Enjoy yourself my boy.” The man said.
“I will, sir. Thank you.” Tristen said before walking off. As he walked, he admired his first purchase.
But he suddenly stopped, gasping in surprise as he felt a strange sensation while he emitted a faint green aura, and a small green ball flew out of him. After a brief moment, the green aura faded as Tristen rubbed his head.
“Man… that was weird.” Tristen muttered to himself before shrugging his shoulders and walking off.
The hooded man looked at the green orb that nobody else noticed as it flew off. “Good luck, my boy.”
Tristen groaned as he started to come to, his head aching. “Ugh… God, what hit me?” he muttered to himself, rubbing his head as he sat upward.
Once his vision cleared, he found himself in a city. But it didn't look like his hometown.
“Wh-wha…?” Tristen muttered out. “How did I get here?”
“You ok, dude?”
Tristen looks up to see a boy around the same age standing before him. He had a light grayish amber colored complexion, vivid cornflower blue eyes, and hair that was in two tones of moderate sapphire blue and spiked upwards.
He wore a black jacket with red and white striped in the sleeves, a white T-shirt underneath with a symbol blue shield and lightning bolt emblazoned on it, blue pants, and black and white sneakers with a lightning bolt on both sides.
“Huh? Oh… yeah.” Tristen replied as he got back up. “I'm good.”
The boy furrowed an eyebrow. “You sure?” The boy asked. “You were lying on the ground not too long ago.”
“Oh uh… I had a rough night of sleep.” Tristen said.
“Ok then.” The boy replied with a shrug. “I'm Flash Sentry, by the way “
“Tristen Tenner.” Tristen introduced himself.
Flash then looked at his watch, surprised at the time. “Oh boy. I'm gonna be late.” Flash ran off, but not before looking back at Tristen. “Catch you later, dude.”
Tristen nodded his head and waved. He then looked around to observe his surroundings, seeing many people had differing skin and hair colors. It didn't take too long to figure out where he was. And the fact that he met a Flash Sentry was the biggest smoking gun.
“So, I'm in the EQG world, huh?” Tristen muttered to himself as he walked off.
He looked at the Omnitrix replica he bought, and a thought struck him with clarity. Tristen started tugging at the device, surprised to feel the strong grip it had on his wrist. He tried his best to tear it off but failing to do so.
“Is this….” Tristen pressed a button on the right side, the device beeping as the hourglass shape displayed on the faceplate changed into a diamond. “It is, isn't it?”
He then twisted the ring on the faceplate, showing that it had a playlist. But the aliens he saw in his active list, which were displayed in full colored images, were unfamiliar to him.
“I don’t recognize any of these guys.” Tristen muttered as he cycled through the playlist. “I've watched every series from the original to Omniverse, and not once have I ever seen these guys.”
He was broken from his thoughts when he heard a scream.
Upon hearing the scream, he ran towards the direction the scream came from.
(Later)
Upon arriving, Tristen noticed a teenage girl talking sitting next to a dog.
The girl in question had lavender skin, purple eyes, indigo blue hair with purple and pink streaks through it, wearing a button-up blouse, a red bowtie, a purple skirt with a starburst marked on it, and purple boots with plaid purple socks. The dog she was next to had lavender fur, green eyes, deep green tuft of fur atop his head, sea green floppy ears, a bright green underbelly, white splotches near his backside, and wearing a spiked collar with a heart-marked dog tag.
As Tristen observed the two, he realized something. “I must be in the very first special.” Tristen pondered. “The one where that red haired is still bad. What was her name again?”
The girl seemed to have had a panic attack as she examined herself. “What... does the rest of me look like?”
The dog scratched his chin with his right fore paw in a pondering manner. “Um, like you. Only not you.” The dog replied. “Your muzzle's really small.”
“My muzzle?!” The girl asked, going into full panic mode again.
Tristen scratched his head. “I guess I better help her out." Tristen approached the girl and her canine companion. “Hey there.”
The girl and her dog looked over at Tristen, both taken by surprise.
“You look like you could use some help.” Tristen said, offering a hand to her. With hesitance, she reached for Tristen’s hand, and he managed to pull her up. “Do you have a name?”
The girl looked away bashfully. “T-Twilight Sparkle.”
“I’m Tristen. Tristen Tenner.” Tristen looks at Spike, kneeling down to the pup and scratching behind his ears. “And who is this little cutie?”
“That's Spike. My… uh, my dog." Twilight said while smiling at Spike, who was thumping his right leg repeatedly with a pleased smile on his face.
He then looks up ahead to see the large school building. “I take it you're new here, yeah?” Tristen asked, earning a bid from Twilight. “I happen to be a newbie here myself. What's say we get going, yes?”
Tristen walked off, and Twilight followed after him. But the girl was stumbling around, trying not to fall. Tristen noticed of course, so he went to help her.
“Uh…why don't you stick with me?” Tristen said as he took Twilight by the hand. “That way you're not stumbling around like you're in a tizzy.”
Twilight blushed a bit, but she wasn't accepting his offer. The trio walk up to the double doors of the large building and, and Tristen opens the door for Twilight and Spiked.
Upon entry, they observed the massive room.

‘Dude, this place looks even better in person.’ Tristen thought to himself out of awe.
BRRRRRRIIIIIIINNNG!!!
Suddenly, the halls suddenly became filled to the brim with students of, and Tristen managed to navigate Twilight and Spike through the crowd.
“Excuse us, coming through,” Tristen spoke out, but Twilight suddenly walked face first into a locker door.
“You okay?”
Twilight and Tristen look to see that the lavender girl had bumped into Flash Sentry. Flash helps Twilight up, and then he noticed Tristen.
“Hey. Twice in one day.” Flash said, earning a shrug from Tristen.
“Small world, am I right?” Tristen replied with a chuckle.
In an entirely different place, where there was nothing but gray desert wasteland and vast deep violet sky, a large castle that appeared to be made of obsidian stood
Within the throne broom room, sitting on a throne made of bones was a figure obscured in the darkness. Just a few feet away from him was a hovering crystal ball that showed Tristen and Twilight.
“So the old goat has chosen his champion.” the figure spoke in a tone devoid of emotion. He eyed Tristen through the orb, a chortle escaping him.“This shall be the greatest of fun.”
Tristen was walking through the hallways, looking for the principal's office.
“Oh, I'm really sorry.”
Tristen perked up at the voice.
“I-I just found it, and-and I thought I should give it to her. I didn't know you had dropped it.”
“Well, I did!” Replied a more harsher voice. “And I was about to get it before you swooped in and ruined everything! You shouldn't pick up things that don't belong to you.”
Tristen looks to see two girls. One had bright yellow skin and pink hair dressed in a white tank top and a green skirt with butterflies on it.
The other had bright amber skin and red hair with yellow streaks, dressed in an orange skirt, purple shirt with a red and yellow sun on it, and a black jacket.
“It... doesn't really belong to you, either.” The girl mumbled under her breath.
“Excuse me?!” The red haired girl asked, making the other girl mumbled an apology out of terror.
Tristen eyed the red haired girl, his anger boiling over upon seeing her. ‘Yep. That's her, alright.’
Tristen whistled out, grabbing the attention of both girls.
“If you are done antagonizing, then I suggest you beat it!" Tristen declared as he walked towards the red haired girl. “Before you upset me.”
The red-haired girl scowled at Tristen while the other girl watched on in surprise. “Says who?” The red haired girl asked.
“Says me, bacon head.” Tristen shot back.
The two stare each other down for a moment until the girl has a smirk. "You must be new here. I can speak to anyone any way I want."
Tristen however was not backing down. "You say that now.” Tristen replied. “But sooner or later, you'll know that actions have consequences.”
She then glared at Tristen, "Oh yeah, tough guy?” The girl pokes at Tristen’s chest. “I'd watch what I say if I were you.”
Tristen smacks her hand away in response. “I'm giving you five seconds to beat it before you piss me off.”
“Oh yeah, or what?” She replied as she does a puppy-dog pout. "You wouldn't hit a girl, would you?"
Tristen furrowed his eyebrow in response. “Oh no, I wouldn't.” Tristen then had a smirk. “But I would certainly hit a bitch.”
The girl narrowed her eyes at that. “You wouldn't dare!”
With a smug grin, Tristen reached his right hand forward and flicked her forehead, making her jump back in shock. The other girl and two other students watching were surprised at the sight. "Wanna keep tempting me, bitch?” Tristen asked. “Keep talking!"
She placed a hand over her forehead, still shocked before she looked at him in anger. "You're officially on my list, pal!”
“Like I'm scared of you, bacon strips for hair.” Tristen points in the opposite direction. “Now piss off!”
The girl, still glaring at him, walks off. When she was finally gone, Tristen looked at the other girl. “You alright?”
The girl nods in response. “I can't believe you did that.”
“You expect me to just sit by and watch while bacon hair picks on you like that?” Tristen asked rhetorically with a shrug. “That's not how I roll.”
“Me neither.”
Tristen and the girl look to see Twilight and Spike walk towards them.
“Well, it's just that nobody ever stands up to Sunset Shimmer.”
“Sunset Shimmer!?” Twilight asked in shock as she looked to where Sunset walked off.
‘So that's her name.’ Tristen thought to himself.
“I don't think I've seen either of you around before.” The yellow girl said. “Did you two just transfer to Canterlot High from another school?”
“You can say that.” Tristen replied cryptically. “The name’s Tristen.” Tristen gestured to Twilight. “And this is Twilight.”
"I'm...Fluttershy..." she mumbles out.
"Um, sorry, we couldn't hear you." Tristen asked with a quirked up eyebrow.
"It's Fluttershy!" The newly named Fluttershy squeaked out again.
"It sounds like you're saying Fluttershy," Twilight stammered, "but how can that...?"
“Fluttershy, huh?” Tristen asked. “Cute name.”
Fluttershy notices Spike, and she was in awe at the pup. “Oh my goodness!" Fluttershy rushes past the two and kneels to Spike. "Who's this sweet little guy?"
"That's Spike, my dog." Twilight says, rather hesitantly.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Fluttershy digs out a doggie treat from her backpack, "Go on, eat up, little pup."
Spike nibbles it, then goes to full on eating as Fluttershy speaks again.
Tristen smiled at the sight. “An animal lover, I see.”
“Oh yes.” Fluttershy responded. "Oh, wouldn't you give anything to know what they're really thinking?"
"He usually just tells me." Twilight said, offhandedly.
Fluttershy looks to Twilight. "What do you mean?"
"What she means is… she's a dog whisperer.” Trusten explained for Twilight, both her and Fluttershy look to him. “Anyway, Sunset Shimmer said you picked something up. Something that she said belonged to her.
Twilight had a look of realization. “Yeah. It wasn't a crown, was it?"
“How did you know?” Fluttershy asked.
“Uh, lucky guess?” Twilight replied sheepishly. “Do you still have it?”
Fluttershy shook her head in response, making Twilight look defeated.
“But you know what happened to it, right?” Tristen asked.
Fluttershy nods affirmation. “This morning, I was passing out flyers for the animal shelter like I do every Wednesday. All of a sudden, it landed on my head out of nowhere. I have no idea how it got there. But I didn't want anything to happen to it, so I decided to give it to Principal Celestia.”
“Well where is she now?” Tristen asked
“Probably in her office.” Fluttershy replied. “Third door on your left.”
“Thanks.” Tristen replied with a nod.
“Also, you're not really supposed to have pets on school grounds.” Fluttershy said to Twilight. “Might wanna tuck him into your backpack. That's what I do.” Fluttershy turns around to reveal a rabbit, a kitten, and a red bird.
Tristen looked at the three animals in surprise. 'How the hell…?'
“They just get so lonely when I'm in school all day.” Fluttershy replied.
BRRRRRRIIIIIIINNNG!!!
"Oh, no! I'm late for class!" Fluttershy said before swiftly gathering her animal buddies and running off to her classroom.
Not wanting to waste anymore time, Twilight and Tristen went off towards the Principal's office.
