Adventure at Canterlot High
Omake 5: Beauty and a Beat
Previous ChapterNext ChapterRarity was grunting as she struggled to move a piano to school, where she had somehow managed to move to the school to begin with.
“Come on, Rarity! You simply must get this piano for band practice!” Rarity grunted, panting heavily. “What kind of person doesn't put a piano on wheels?”
As she struggles to push the piano any further, she stops to take a breather. “Just look at me. I'm a mess.” Rarity began to think. “What I need is a bit more muscle.”
Rarity then spotted the muscle she was looking for, in the form of three gruff boys.
With a smile, she straightened up her hair and put her plan into notion. “Oh, boys!” Rarity called out, earning their attention. All it took was a flick of her hair and a bat of her eyes to get them head over heels.
“I simply cannot thank you enough.” Rarity said to the three boys, who were holding the piano. “And while I am a bit repulsed by your musky smell, I can appreciate that you're all diamonds in the rough.”
Suddenly, the three boys stopped to see a mass of students blocking their paths. They had no choice but to simply bulldoze their way through the crowd, all the while Rarity excuses herself.
(Meanwhile)
The gang, including Sunset and Tristen, were waiting for Rarity to arrive.
“Where is Rarity?!” Rainbow asked with impatience.
“That gal probably just wants to make some sort of grand entrance.” Applejack replied. And right on cue, Rarity had arrived with her three handymen. “Told ya.”
Tristen eyed Rarity’s choice of instrument. “Uh… Rares?” Tristen began, “I don't mean to sound rude and all, but why in the actual hell did you bring a piano?”
“Yeah.” Rainbow agreed. “Couldn't you have chosen a more portable instrument?”
“Heavens, no!” Rarity replied. “The grand piano is the most refined and elegant of instruments. With it, I will be able to express my full musicality.”
The sound of a timer however echoed throughout the room.
“Well, our time's up.” Rainbow declared. “I guess we'll have to move our practice to the gym.”
“Guess you're gonna express your "full musicality" clear across campus.” Rainbow said to a rather deflated Rarity.
“Or you could play this!”
“It's part guitar, part keyboard! It's a guitarkey!”
“You mean a keytar.” Sunset corrected.
“Po-tay-to, to-mah-to.” Pinkie replied carelessly.
“That's not how you… ugh! Nevermind.” Tristen muttered out
Rarity eyes the instrument and begins to play the keytar. As she did so, she managed to gain her pony ears and long tail.
Sunset was surprised by this while the others were amazed.
“Four times in a row.” Tristen said in surprise. “First Rainbow, athen Fluttershy, then Pinkie, and now Rarity too.”
Sunset pondered a bit. “Maybe there's some residual Equestrian magic still present.” Sunset postulated.
“How about ya take that keytar and move your tail to our next rehearsal space?” Applejack suggested to Rarity.
“Fine, fine.” Rarity said before looking back to the three boys. “I don't suppose…”
The boys were happy to oblige as they proceeded to lift the piano while Rarity played a keytar riff.
