The gang were meeting up at a diner, and Tristen was explaining what happened earlier at the soccer field.

“Let me get this straight.” Applejack said, trying to understand what Tristen told herm “You mean that thing you turned into earlier… was an alien?”

“Pretty much.” Tristen nods in response. “Technically, a mix of two aliens.”

“You mean like a fusion?” Fluttershy asked. “Of what?”

Tristen scratched his chin a bit. “If I recall correctly… an electric sasquatch and a big red alien with literal heavy hands.”

The girls were surprised by that intel. “How do you know?” Rarity asked.

“Whenever I transform into an alien, all the info about it is dumped into my noggin.” Tristen said while tapping his head. “Kind of a useful feature whenever I turn into a new alien.”

"We gotta stop bumping into each other like this."

Tristen looks over to see Twilight and Flash, the former clearly having accidentally bumping into the latter while spilling her drink.

Flash and Twilight went to grab the dropped cup and touched each other's hands. Tristen was watching the scene, smiling knowingly.

"You know me, always trying to make a big SPLASH around here! 'Cause my drink splashed on the ground!" Twilight replied before giggling nervously.

Twilight, not wanting to embarrass herself further, returned to the group and started twirling a lock of her hair while blushing.

“Nice going there.” Tristen said to Twilight in a teasing manner.

“Don't even think about it.” Rarity said. “You're already trying to get her crown, who knows what Sunset Shimmer will do if you end up getting her ex-boyfriend too?”

Tristen's eyes went wide at that. “Wait. He and Sunset dated?” Tristen looks at Flash, who walks into a bathroom. “I’m not sure if I should feel sorry for him about the breakup, or the fact he and Subset dated to begin with.”

"Flash Sentry broke up with her three weeks ago.” Fluttershy explained. “I'm just surprised she hasn't done something awful to him yet.”

Twilight looks over to Flash, who had walked by while getting his own drink, smiling at Twilight all the while. "Maybe she's waiting until she has the power to do something really awful.”

"Alright, y'all, the dance is tomorrow, and we still don't have the votes we need for Twilight to be Fall Formal Princess.” Applejack spoke “Right now, folks only know her from the video Sunset Shimmer posted online, we need to help them see her differently.”

“And how are we going to do that?” Tristen asked. “It's not like we can erase their memories or something.”

Rarity fortunately had an idea. “I'VE GOT IT!” Rarity declared, earning the attention of everyone present in the diner, much to her embarrassment. “Ahem. I mean, um, perhaps I have a solution.” Rarity then walks to her duffle bag. “Now this may be an absolutely preposterous idea, but what if we all wore these as a sign of unity?”

Rarity suddenly pulled of pony ear headband and a strap-on pony tail.

“Freshman year, they were very, very popular.” Rarity continued. “A way for everybody to show their school spirit! You know? "Go, Canterlot Wondercolts!" Rarity clears her throat to compose herself. “I haven't sold any in ages. I mean, the five of us are obviously very different, but deep down, we're all Canterlot Wondercolts!”

Tristen smiled, catching on to Rarity’s suggestion. “Sunset divided you guys, and Twilight brought you back together.” Tristen said with a nod of approval. “And we're gonna let everyone know it!” Tristen looks at Twilight. “What do you think, Twi?”

Twilight looked to the others, and they were on board. Knowing that they had her back, Twilight decided to give Rarity's idea a shot.

It was lunchtime at Canterlot High, and everyone was eating when Twilight and friends began to put their plan into motion. Pinkie started tapping a lunch tray nearby, and the other girls added their own sounds to the rhythm as Spike turned on a boombox next to him. And moments later, they began their literal song and dance.

As this went on, Tristen watched on with a smile.

"Take those off!”

Tristen looked to the cafeteria doors and leeks out the window, where he saw Sunset with wet two goons. "I have something I need you to do."

Up to no good again, eh?’ Tristen thought to himself with a furrowed eyebrow.

(Later)

Tristen snuck into the office, where he sees Sunset’s took goons make a mess of things.

With a sneer, Tristen grabbed some torn apart streamers and snuck up on the two. With a smirk, he tied the two boys up, gagged them, and locked them into a janitor's closet.

“That oughta hold you, punks!” Tristen said with a smirk, but then he looked at the damages. “Damn, they've really made a mess of things. I better spread the news.”

And with that, Tristen walks off. But he failed to notice Sunset was nearby, smiling wickedly with her cellphone in hand.

“Once again, you've got in my way.” Sunset said with a malicious grin. “But luckily I have a little backup plan.” Sunset looks at her cell phone screen.

Tristen was in Vice Principal Luna's office.

“I'm sorry! What?!” Tristen asked Luna in shock. “What makes you think I was the one who trashed the gym?”

“This is clearly you in the photographs, is it not?” Luna hands Tristen a printed photograph, which showed Tristen standing in the middle of the gym observing the trashed decor.

“Yes, but…” Tristen then had a look of realization. “Wait a minute! Who even gave you the…” Tristen growled, instantly realizing who the real culprit is. “Oh, that sleazy little bi-”

“Ahem!”

Tristen looks to Luna, who was flashing him a warning look.

“Ma’am, pardon my choice of words here, but Sunset is selling you nothing but crap!” Tristen said, desperate to prove his innocence.

“The evidence here proves otherwise.” Luna retorted. But suddenly, a knock came at the door.

And the door opens to reveal Flash Sentry. “Vice Principal Luna. I know who's really behind the damages at the gym.” Flash said as enters, pulling his cellphone before showing her recorded footage of Tristen stopping the two boys from the gym by locking them in the janitor’s closet.

Upon realizing she had the wrong man; she looks to Flash Sentry. “I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, Flash.” Luna then looks to Tristen. “I do apologize for the misunderstanding.”

“Unfortunately, I couldn't find them in the closet.” Flash added. “They must have weaseled their way out.”

More like Sunset bailed them out!’ Tristen thought to himself.

“I'll deal with them personally.” Luna spoke. “Though I am afraid enough damage has been done to the gym that we will have to postpone the dance until tomorrow night. If you will excuse me, I need to let my sister know about this latest development.”

With a sigh of relief, Tristen walks out with Flash. “Thanks for the save, dude.” Tristen thanked Flash, the two sharing a bro fist.

“No prob dude.” Flash replied. “Though, can I ask a favor?”

“You kidding?” Tristen asked rhetorically. “You just saved my ass earlier, so how could I not?”

Flash rubbed the back of his neck with a blush. “When you see Twilight, could you ask her if she would wanna go to the Fall Formal with me tomorrow night? If she's not going with somebody already, that is.”

“Oh sure. I'll be…” Tristen’s eyes suddenly wide. “Wait… tomorrow night?” ‘Crap! The portal would close by that point! Crap!

Flash raised an eyebrow. “Uh… you ok, dude?”

Tristen regained his composure and cleared his throat. “I’ll be sure to ask her for you.” And with that, Tristen ran off, leaving a puzzled Flash Sentry alone.

“Ok, I guess.” Flash said.

Tristen was running about the city, but eventually he found the girls at a boutique.

“Twi! We've got a situation!” Tristen said, running to the girl as he led her into a changing room.

“What is it?” Twilight asked.

“Sunset’s two goons made a mess of the gym!” Tristen explained. “And because of the damages, the dance is postponed for tomorrow night.”

Upon hearing this, Twilight’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. “WHA-” Tristen covered her mouth to quiet things down.

“Everything ok in there?” Rarity asked.

“Just fine.” Tristen replied with a nervous laugh.

“If I don't get my crown tonight, I won't be able to go back to Equestria for another thirty moons!” Twilight whispered. “Oh, what are we gonna do?”

“We tell them the truth.” Spike suggested. “Let them know what's really at stake if you don't get the crown tonight. They'll help us figure somethin' out.”

“But what if they won't?” Twilight asked back.

“Twilight, they rallied around you 'cause they saw what was in your heart.” Spike countered. “They aren't gonna feel any differently about you when they find out you're a pony princess in Equestria.”

“Besides, they already know I can turn into aliens.” Tristen said, gesturing to the Omnitrix. “I'm sure they'll believe you.”

Twilight, knowing Spike and Tristen had a point, smiled in response.

With everything said, the two step out to confront their friends.

“Guys, we've got bad news." Tristen looks to Twilight, urging her to tell them.

Twilight took a deep breath and laid her cards on the table. “The Fall Formal isn't happening tonight.”

“WHAT?!” Pinkie asked in shock.

“It had to be postponed because Sunset Shimmer had her two punks ruin all of Pinkie's decorations.” Tristen added.

“WHAT?!?” Pinkie repeated her question with even more shock.

“But the Fall Formal has to happen tonight.” Twilight said. “You see…”

Pinkie however beats Twilight to the punch. “You're from an alternate world and you're a pony princess there and the crown actually has a magical element embedded in it that helps power up other magical elements, and without it, they don't work anymore, and you need them to help protect your magical world, and if you don't get the crown tonight, you'll be stuck in this world and you won't be able to get back for, like, a really, really long time!”

Pinkie’s explanation confused her fellow friends, while Twilight, Tristen, and Spoke were absolutely shocked.

“Uh… I'm sorry…” Tristen took a deep breath to collect himself before asking, “How in the hell did you figure that out?!”

“Just a hunch.” Pinkie said simply

“Yeah, I'm pretty sure that isn't the reason.” Rainbow Dash said, unconvinced.

“Nope, she's pretty much spot-on.” Spike said, taking the other girls completely by shock.

“He can talk!?” Rarity asked in disbelief.

“Oh, yeah! And back where I come from, I'm not even a dog!” Spike replied. “I'm a ferocious, fire-breathing dragon!”

“This is so amazing!” Flutteshy said in awe as she knelt down to Spike.

“Wait a minute!” Applenack chimed in. “Lemme get this straight. You're a pony?”

“You're a princess?” Rarity added.

“You're from another world?” Flutteshy asked.

“Uh, you guys did see me turn into an alien earlier today.” Tristen replied nonchalantly. “So why is this such a shock?”

The five girls look at Tristen, then look at each other.

“Touché.” Applejack replied.

“That... is... awesome!” Rainbow Dash erupted in awe. And she and the other four crowded around Twilight in amazement while Twilight herself blushed bashfully.

“I simply cannot believe they did all this!” Rarity said in dismay.

“If I only had some kind of... party cannon that could decorate everything super-fast!” Pinkie declared.

“I know it seems impossible,” Twilight said hopefully, “but, maybe if we all work together?”

Applejack smiled at that. “Now that's the kinda can-do spirit I'm lookin' for in a Fall Formal Princess! Let's do it, y'all!” She then looks at Tristen. “Think you've got an alien to help us out?”

“Actually, yes.” Cortana spoke through the Omnitrix before Tristen was enveloped in a green flash. And moments later, a new alien took Tristen’s place. It was a metallic gray humanoid with green circuit lines on various parts of its body, and a single glowing green right eye visible. This alien revealed itself as:

“Carbon Copy!”

The girls and Spike were surprised by the new form.

“What can this one do?” Spike asked.

The newly named Carbon Copy didn't say anything, and instead began to change his body shape. Within a matter of moments, he had changed into a large vacuum cleaner.

“A shapeshifter.” Twilight replied in amazement. “Impressive.”

“Wait! Carbon Copy?” Rarity asked. “You name your transformations?”

“Uh, hello?” Carbon Copy asked. “Mess to clean up, remember?”

Once the entire gym was fixed, the gang were admiring the finished results.

“This... looks... sooooo... GOOD!” Pinkie erupted in glee.

“Got that right.” Tristen replied with a nod of approval.

Even Principal Celestia, who had arrived, agreed as she clapped. “All right, everyone! Fall Formal is back on for this evening.”

The students began cheering in response.

“So, you'd better get out of here and start getting ready.” Principal Celestia advised. “Oh, and don't forget to cast your ballots for the Fall Formal Princess on your way out!”

“You got my vote, Twilight.” A student said to Twilight.

"Mine, too!” Another student added.

Everyone had clearly voted for Twilight, much to the girl’s delight.

While this happened, a rather annoyed Sunset was watching things unfold from within the janitor's closet. “You're lucky she was able to pull this off.” Sunset said to her two goons. “Next time I ask you to make a mess of things, try to show a little restraint! I need this Formal to go on tonight just as much as she does.”

The dark figure was watching Tristen and friends through his crystal ball.

“I should prepare myself.” The figure said with a sinister chuckle. “For its no celebration without me.”
