Cameron wasn't your average twelve-year-old boy, whereas other kids his age would play sports and play outside all day, Cameron would stay in his room with only his video games and books to keep him company, however after another argument with his parents, he decided to walk along the beach of his seaside town.

Cameron sighed as he kicked a pebble along the hard, golden sand, his once pristine, white Nike trainers turning slowly yellow. Suddenly the hairs on the back of his neck suddenly stood on end as he got the unsettling feeling of being watched. Looking around, he couldn't spot any sign of anybody else, however, that was when he saw it.

His blue eyes caught a glimpse of a small head popping down into a crevice in the large rocks that lined the beach. Quenching his fear, he slowly approached the long line of rocks and started to climb, taking care not to slip on the wet boulders.

Looking down into the crevice, he gasped as his eyes spotted, what resembled a small horse, however, the most peculiar thing was that this horse had small, orange wings. The creature was also not like any other horse that Cameron had seen, this horse had a bright orange coat with a spiky, purple mane and tail and what looked like a tattoo on its flank.

"What are you?"

Scootaloo had been practising her scooter tricks, with the intention of showing her friends and most importantly, her idol and mentor, Rainbow Dash, however when she went over a large ramp that she had built herself, however as her scooter left the ramp a blinding, white portal appeared out of nowhere and she suddenly found herself plummeting towards a large beach that seemed to be adorned with various rocks.

Scootaloo's scooter was smashed into pieces and worse of all, she had injured her wing. Holding the remains of her now destroyed scooter in her trembling hooves while tears threatened to burst from her eyes, she suddenly dropped them as she heard what resembled hoofsteps.

Looking around Scootaloo, dived for cover behind a large rock and watched as a strange and terrifying bipedal creature walked past her. She had never seen anything like it. The creature had short blonde hair and had no fur and was wearing a red T-shirt that had a large black tick on it, the creature was also wearing baggy jeans that seemed too big for it and, its shoes were white stained yellow with the same tick as on the shit but this time it was red.

Scootaloo quickly ducked down as the creature suddenly looked directly at her. She prayed that the creature would simply pass, however, this wouldn't be the case as her breath caught in her throat as she heard the creature grunting and the distinct sound of climbing.

Her eyes contracted in fear as she watched the creature peer into the crevice that she was hidden inside of.

Scootaloo then heard the creature speak, "What are you?"

Too terrified to answer Scootaloo merely whimpered. The creature then reached out with its hand to try and touch her, however, Scootaloo swatted the hand away and yelped, "Get Away!"

The creature then also gasped in shock as Scootaloo heard it tumble off the rock pile and heard it cry out in pain.

It was at this moment that Scootaloo realised that the creature sounded like a colt, making her realise that the creature was probably young like her.

Using this knowledge, Scootaloo slowly climbed out of the crevice to find the creature nursing the back of his head.

Cameron thought that the horse might be stuck and had attempted to reach out to try and help the horse, however, he never expected the horse to hit his hand away, let alone talk.

The shock of seeing the horse talk made him fall backwards down the rocks and hit his head. Feeling the back of his head, he winced as he felt a bruise beginning to form.

Looking up, he also saw the creature was now watching him, its face, a mixture of curiosity and fear.

Scootaloo, now out of the crevice, stood awkwardly, her little orange wings hanging limp at her sides, the left one clearly injured. She was still shaking, but her curiosity was slowly overriding her fear. The creature in front of her, this strange, two-legged being, didn’t seem as scary as she first thought. He was younger than she imagined, maybe just a colt like her.

For a moment, they just stared at each other, neither sure what to do or say. Cameron was the first to break the silence.

“Y-You can talk?” he asked, his voice trembling a little. He felt a bizarre mix of excitement and fear like he was part of one of the stories he loved reading. This creature couldn’t be real, but here it was, standing right in front of him.

Scootaloo gulped and nodded slowly. "Of course, I can talk. Why wouldn't I?" Her voice, though shaky, had a hint of defensiveness to it. She wasn’t going to let this weird creature think she was just some animal. “Who - who are you?”

For a moment, they just stared at each other, neither sure what to do or say. Cameron was the first to break the silence.

“I’m Cameron.” He still hadn’t moved from his spot, watching her carefully. He then repeated his earlier question, "What are you?"

This question made Scootaloo feel uneasy as she nervously wondered, why he was asking a question, that had an obvious answer, "A pony," she answered while giving the weird creature a perplexed look that also had a hint of suspicion.

Cameron returned the perplexed look and stammered, "But - But you have wings!"

Scootaloo rolled her eyes, now believing that this weird creature was stupid, "Duh, I'm a pegasus! Now, why don't you tell me what you are?"

"I'm a human but I've never seen a pegasus or even a pony that looks even remotely like you."

This revelation made Scootaloo open her mouth in shock, as her wings slumped, with her injured wing sending a jolt of pain through her body, causing Scootaloo to cry out in pain.

Cameron, noticing her injured wing then asked softly, "Are you okay?"

Scootaloo shook her head with tears threatening to overflow from her eyes, with the adrenaline, from her first encounter with this human, beginning to wear off causing her wing to throb and the feeling of despair beginning to fill her as she realised that she wasn't even in Equestria anymore. "I - I've hurt my wing and I'm lost," Scootaloo whimpered.

Cameron, gave her a look of sympathy, "Where did you come from? Maybe we can get you help if we, get you home."

"Ponyville, back in Equestria."

"Oh, I've never heard of any of those places. Right now, you're in Fleetwood, in the UK."

This made Scootaloo's eyes widen as she realised with horror that she had no way of getting home.

Sensing, Scootaloo's distress, Cameron offered, "Why don't I take you home with me and we can figure something out."

Still trembling Scootaloo slowly nodded in agreement.

"Okay, but we have to be careful, I don't want anybody to see you," Cameron warned her and began to lead the way back to his house. Scootaloo gave one last pained look at the remains of her scooter before following him.
