Equestria Ninja Girls: Reinkani Forever
The Reinkanian Royal Family
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Island nation of Reinkani. Located in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. On that island was the Reinkani Royal Palace, where the Royal Family lived.
The Royal Family enjoyed dinner in the dining room at the Royal Palace in Reikani. The family included Reinkani's Queen, Unna Shaah, who sat at the head of the table. The Queen wore a white and gold saree with her gold nose ring and headpiece.

On the queen's right was her daughter Charra, who wore her purple dress and white jacket. Sitting next to her was her husband and son-in-law, Deepak Nyaa, who wore a blue Nehru jacket, black pants and glasses.

Sitting with them was their son, the Queen's grandson, Yod Nyaa. He wore a white shirt with green three-quarter sleeves, black pants, bracelets, and a gold hoop earring on his left ear.

On the queen’s left were her two granddaughters, the daughters of her late son and daughter-in-law. Princess Saundra Shaah was the youngest in the family. She wore a blue shirt with a light blue sareem, white slacks, and a necklace.

Her older sister, Princess Vera Shaah, wore a pink long-sleeved shirt with lavender slacks, a jewelled nose stud, and a red bindi. She would soon be crowned the next queen.

“So preparations are coming along nicely?” Queen Unna asked.
“Of course, Grandmother,” Vera replied.
Unna then turned to Yod, “And I hear there was trouble earlier in one of the villages.”
“Yes, Grandmother. But my team and I managed to sort it out,” Yod confirmed.
“Thank you, Yod. You and the others have proven yourselves to become true Guardians of Reinkani.”
“Thank you, grandmother. It has been truly an honour to protect our country,” Yod declared with pride.
Unna turned to her youngest granddaughter.
“Saundra, how was your day?”
“It was alright, grandmother. Did more studying in the library,” Saundra replied.
“Very good, my dear,” Unna replied. “And I trust you've been taking your medicine?”
“Yes, grandmother, I have,” Saundra said, looking pouty.
Princess Chaara noticed her youngest niece's expression. “Saundra, dearie, I know you don't like it, but it's only a little longer.”
“I know, Aunt Chaara,” Saundra said.
“Actually, your recovery has come much faster than expected,” Chaara said with interest. “Your recent results have been excellent. I think tonight will be the last time you must take your medicine.”
“Really?” Saundra asked in delight.
“Of course, but if your health doesn’t improve after that, you’re going back on them,” Chaara told her niece.
“Yes, Auntie,” Saundra replied.
Vera said, “But you should still be careful. I'm still worried about, well...”
“My sudden change in eye colour,” Saundra reminded her sister.
“I'm still curious about that myself,” Chaara admitted.
“But whatever the case, those eyes make you beautiful,” Unna said to her youngest granddaughter, causing the young princess to blush.
Just then, Aaserak came flying in. The bird landed on Yod's arm with a letter in its beak.
“Did they get the message?”
Aaserak gave Yod the letter, who then read it. Asserak squeaked, which got Saundra’s attention, but the Princess didn’t say anything. The family knew who the letter was from.
“Is she coming?” Vera asked with a smirk. The whole family joined in
“Not just her, but her friends as well,” Yod pointed out.
“You mean those turtle warriors you told us about? Who are part of the Hamato Clan?” Chaara asked, remembering hearing about them from her family.
“The very same, mother,” Yod replied.
“Well, they're welcome to stay here in the palace,” Unna said.
“They'll be coming soon,” Yod pointed out.
“Just try not to freeze when you see her,” Vera teased her cousin.
“What are you talking about? I never freeze,” Yod declared, but the family rolled their eyes.
Just then, a woman approached the family. She had black skin and short black hair. She wore a red uniform with a gold breastplate and gold bangles. She also carried a spear.

“General Yalim,” Queen Unna greeted the woman. “What's the report?”
“My guards have investigated the recent thefts. Mainly riches being stolen, but they've also stolen machinery parts,” Yalim explained to the Royal Family.
“This is very concerning,” Queen Unna worried. “These people have something big in mind.”
“Grandmother, my team, and I can continue investigating these people,” Yod suggested. “And Rainbow Dash and her friends can help as well.”
“From what you described about Rainbow Dash and the footage you showed us of the Turtles and Rainbooms, they are indeed noble warriors of the Hamato Clan,” Unna agreed.
But General Yalim had concerns, “Your majesty, are you sure it's wise to have help from these outsiders? We don't know much about them?”
“That's true. But from what we know, one of them worked hard and ran fast to save Saundra's life, and the others worked to disable those Ice Fortresses,” Unna pointed out. “And they are also of the Hamato Clan. So from what we've seen, they can be trustworthy.”
“Yes, they have faced many powerful enemies, monsters, and they've prevailed,” Yod stated.
“You learned that from your phone conversations with Rainbow Dash?” Vera asked with a smirk.
“That's none of your business,” Yod embarrassingly said, which made the family laugh. “Unless you want me to tease you about Kumar.”
At that moment, the family stopped laughing, wide-eyed. Vera now looked down with regret. Yod’s parents and grandmother looked at him with disappointment as Yod realized his mistake.
“I'm sorry, that was a low blow,” Yod apologised to his cousin.
“No, don't worry about it. Kumar and I are cool; I'm over it, him,” Vera said, clearly trying to convince herself.
But her grandmother wasn't buying it, “Vera, sweetheart, do you want to talk about it?” Unna asked.
“What's there to talk about? There's nothing to talk about,” Vera said with an awkward laugh, but then she composed herself. “Grandmother, may I be excused?”
Unna looked at Vera, wanting to say no, but she sighed, “You may, my dear.”
Vera left the table, still feeling down about the subject. Saundra turned her head towards her cousin and glared at him.
“Nice going, idiot,” Saundra reprimanded Yod.
“Yod, you know what Vera's breakup with Kumar was like,” Unna said with disappointment in her grandson.
“I know, I'm sorry,” Yod apologised.
“It's Vera you'll need to apologise to,” Chaara told her son.
“But he can do it after he does the dishes,” Unna told Yod's punishment, which Yod groaned about.
The family left the table as servants grabbed their dishes and brought them to the kitchen, with Yod following for his punishment.
“Try not to freeze when you see the girl,” Yalim teased Yod, who was getting annoyed.
“Why does everyone keep saying that,” Yod said as he made a start on the dishes.
As the Royal family left, Saundra said, “I can't believe Yod would say something like that.”
"Indeed, I expected better from him," Chaara said, disappointed in her son.
"Well, to be fair, none of us should bring up a certain topic to tease him," said Deepack
"But we were just..." said Saundra before being cut off.
"You mean well, that may be true," said Deepack, "He shouldn't have said that, but we shouldn't have brought a certain topic up that he wasn't comfortable to talk about either. Though we mean well, there is only so much that a person can take."
He looked at Chaara and said, "If I remember hearing about the fight between you and your brother years ago after you teased him?"
This caused Chaara to look down in shame, remembering that her teasing had caused a temporary rift between her and her brother.
"Wait, Aunt Chaara fought with Dad because she also teased him?" asked Saundra.
"That's right," said Unna, remembering that, "The two of them had a big fight, and they didn’t speak to each other for a year before your Grandfather and I forced them to sit down and talk it out.
"So yes, Yod should mind what he says about certain topics to others," said Deepack, "But that should count for everyone else as well, no matter how sensitive it can be. So, I believe both apologies are in order. Yod, to apologize to Vera and all of you to apologize for teasing him about it."
"How is it that you're so calm about it?" asked Saundra.
Deepack then remembered a particular event as he looked down in shame and said, "Because I understand it better than you know."
“You mean with Samira?” Chaara asked as Deepack nodded his head.
Unna placed her hand on his shoulder in comfort.
Princess Saundra was walking down the hall with Aaserak following her.
“We really egged Yod on, didn’t we,” Saundra said feeling a mixture of anger and sadness, talking to the falcon. Aaserak screeched in reply. “Okay, we were just having a bit of fun. Plus, it’s nice Yod has a crush on someone.”
Saundra was discussing with the Lagger Falcon as if she could understand him.
“Are you still talking about Yod’s crush?” a voice said. Saundra turned to see a Hispanic girl around her age wearing a yellow shirt and blue capri pants. She had long brown hair in a braid.

“Hey, Mariana,” Saundra said to the girl.
“Hey, Saundra,” the girl, Mariana, replied. “Still talking to the bird?”
Aaserak screeched in response.
“He doesn’t like being called a bird. He’s a Falcon,” Saundra corrected.
“Sorry, Aaserak,” Mariana apologised to the bird. “So how’s the whole, talking with animals…”
“Ssh,” Saundra stopped Mariana from saying something before whispering, “You have any idea how my family will react?”
“Okay, okay, you’re right,” Mariana agreed. “How long has that been going on?”
“Since after my surgery, and it’s both cool and freaking me out,” Saundra admitted.
“Around the same time, your eyes changed colour?” Mariana asked.
“Yeah, around that time,” Saundra confirmed.
“Don’t worry, amiga; we’ll figure it out,” Mariana assured.
“Thanks, Mariana,” Saundra thanked Mariana, giving her a side hug. Mariana was secretly blushing.
Yod was in the palace kitchen, washing the dishes.
“Stupid me for opening that wound, but they started with their teasing,” Yod muttered in annoyance.
“I take it dinner time didn't go so well...”
Yod looked to see a brown-skinned boy his age. Wearing a blue sleeveless hoodie with brown pants.

“You trying to sneak a snack again, Lakshy?” Yod asked, raising his eyebrow.
“That, and trying to get away from my parents,” the boy, Lakshy, said.
“Don't blame you,” Yod replied, knowing about Lakshy's parents.
“So what got you on dish duty?” Lakshy asked as he grabbed a bread roll to snack on.
“I may have commented about Kumar in front of Vera,” Yod admitted.
“Ah, got it,” Lakshy said, knowing about that.
“But they were egging me on about Rainbow Dash,” Yod said in frustration.
“The speedy girl from America?” Lakshy asked.
“Yep, that's her,” Yod admitted.
“Well, what's the problem, you clearly like the girl,” Lakshy pointed out.
“Of course. She's brave and skilled,” Yod admitted while blushing.
“I’m sure your family means well and are excited about you meeting a nice girl,” Lakshy informed.
“Yeah, you're right,” Yod realised.
“But your family's reaction to dating is better than mine,” Lakshy said disappointedly.
“Even though you haven’t told them yet. But you're dating the General's daughter; what did you expect?” Yod pointed.
Lakshy decided to change the subject, “Anyway, you said Rainbow Dash was a member of the Hamato Clan, right? And you invited them here?”
“Yeah, it was also a surprise to me,” Yod said. “The master will want to meet them.”
“You think they'll also help us with these bad guys that have been popping up lately,” Lakshy pointed out.
“Well, they're coming for the coronation. So let them relax. And maybe help out if they want,” Yod said as he continued washing.
Princess Vera was in her bedroom, sitting on her bed while looking at a framed photo of herself as a six-year-old girl with a little boy next to her.
“I shouldn't be thinking of this; I'm about to be queen,” Vera told herself. “Right, Roen?” Sitting next to Vera was a white cat with black patches. The cat just stared at her before nodding off. Vera sighed in defeat. But then she looked at a portrait on her wall. It was a portrait of her late parents, King Kanu and Queen Uvel. Vera then had tears in her eyes, “What if I'm not meant to be queen?”
“Is that what mom and dad would think?” Vera turned to see Saundra and Unna approaching.
Unna then sat beside her granddaughter, “Are you okay, dearie?” The cat, Roen, immediately got up and rested on Unna’s lap. The Queen stroked the cat
“I'm, it was just a little spat between cousins,” Vera excused her cousin. “Nothing to worry about.”
“We all know that it isn't just that,” Saundra pointed out. “We know your breakup with Karim was hard.”
“We're still cool,” Vera said. “It's not like he put on a phoney cool act when we were together in public, or even when it was just us, thus denying me the sweet and loving goofball nerd I fell in love with.”
“To be honest, I preferred the lovable nerd Karim hides as well,” Saundra said.
Neither knew they were being eavesdropped on from outside the room into the hallway by a teenage boy who then left. But as he went, Unna discreetly turned to the door, knowing who it was eavesdropping on them.
“I'm meant to be Queen soon; I shouldn't be thinking about this,” Vera said, not realising they were being listened to.
“Hey, that just makes you human, sweetheart,” Unna consoled her. “Do you think it hasn't had moments like this during my reign as queen?”
“You mean when...” They looked at the portrait of the late King and Queen with sadness.
“I'm saying, being Queen doesn't mean you can't have these feelings,” Unna explained. “You’re gonna be a great queen, Vera.”
“You think so?” Vera asked.
“Of course. You got that amazing brain and kind heart and beautiful eyes and lovely hair,” Unna teased her granddaughter.
“Grandmother,” Vera whined in embarrassment. Unna then pulled her granddaughters into a hug.
"You will do great things for this country," Unna encouraged Vera. "I believe in you; we as your family believe in you; the palace and its people believe in you; the people in this kingdom believe in you. And more importantly..." She glanced at the portrait. "they believed in you.
“Thanks, Grandmother,” Vera thanked her grandmother.
“Anyway, we have guests coming in a few days,” Saundra pointed.
“Indeed. Tomorrow, we'll begin preparations,” Unna stated.
Unna and Saundra left the Crowned Princess to her thoughts.
