As I walked into the lecture hall in Canterlot I glanced around recognizing some familiar faces. Moondancer is here I noted, she usually comes to all of my lectures no matter how far away. I’ve been away from Ponyville for nearly a month now giving friendship lectures all over Equestria. Just another job of the Princess of Friendship. I love teaching so these lectures have been a blast, everyone hanging on to my words furiously jotting down notes and the best part of all the questions after the lecture. Even though it’s been fun I have missed home, I’m supposed to be taking the train back tonight and I've been overjoyed at the thought of seeing my friends again, and of course Rarity, we've been apart for what felt like forever and I really missed my marefriend even her dramatics, I smile as I walk over to the chalkboard reminiscing about when I left a month ago.

“Who shall give me massages when I’m stressed?” Rarity exclaimed in her tone you could tell she was being dramatic.

I rolled my eyes, “That’s what you’re gonna miss? My massages.” I raised my eyebrow as I levitated my bags onto the train.

“That and when you cook dinner darling!” She smiled brushing back my bangs “You’ll wear a scarf when you go out right? It’s getting terribly cold.” She shivered pulling her purple scarf tighter around her neck to prove a point.

I grinned, she’s so cute when she worries. “Yes, Rarity don’t worry I’ll make sure to wear at least one of the 50 scarfs you packed me.”

“Twilighttt” She scoffed playfully “I’m being serious, I don’t need you coming back home sick.”

I chuckled as I pulled her close “I promise I'll stay warm Rares”

The train whistled as the conductor yelled out “Last call”

“I’ll miss you,” I said softly as I wrapped a wing around her.

She hummed contently as she gave me a soft kiss on my lips. “I’ll miss you too my darling.” She smiled “Now go, shoo, you don’t want to miss the train.”

I nodded as I walked onto the train, I turned around to see Rarity’s eyes slightly welling up with tears. “I’ll see you in a month.” “I love you” I added

She nodded “I love you more.”

I shook my head remembering where I was. “Hello everybody and welcome to the Magic of Friendship 101.”

I droned on for about an hour about the basic fundamental knowledge of friendship and my experiences on how my 5 friends changed my life and how we all were connected since foalhood. “And so without those girls who knows where I would be today? Where any of us would be, would I still be the Princess of friendship and would Equestria still even be here? So one thing to take away from this lecture is that friendship is a powerful magic and we should always grow and cherish it.” As I looked around at the faces of ponies hungry for knowledge I remembered why I love lecturing and the joy that came with it.

“Any questions?” I asked hoping there would be some intriguing questions. As soon as I asked about 50 hands shot up and I smiled. After a half hour of answering, I was almost done answering all the questions. “Yes, you in the back?”

“So Princess,” The oddly familiar voice said, “In your opinion would you say there are other forms of magic like friendship, like for instance love?” The more the familiar voice spoke the more I recognized it. Rarity. I flushed as she came down the stairs the light revealing her beautiful face, Did she look even more gorgeous than the last time I saw her? She wore a simple dress, purple and pink like my mane and she had a bow in her hair that just fit perfectly with her curly mane. She smiled as she saw the bewildered expression on my face. Just realizing that there were still other people here I answered her question.

“Um, well that would be more of Princess Cadence's specialty, but I would say that love can be just as powerful as the magic of friendship.” What was Rarity doing here? I mean not that I’m not glad to see her but she said she couldn't make it to a lecture because she would be too busy in Ponyville.

Her face broke out in a mischievous smile the same smile she wears when she tells the embarrassing story of how we got together to other people.

“So Princess Twilight, are you in love?” A few people cleared their throats and my face warmed up.

I coughed “Well I don’t see how that’s relevant to your question.”

“I want to know if you’ve experienced the magic of love, for science of course I’m comparing friendship and love.” She smiled at me and the temperature in the room got even hotter.

People started murmuring and nodding agreeing with Rarity's line of questioning getting ready to jot down more notes.

“Well, I have a marefriend and she is fantastic, I’m pretty in love with her” I smirked as Rarity’s cheek tinged with pink a befitting color for her, but she quickly brushed it off returning to her usual composed state.

She asked a few more questions about the correlation between love and friendship and she seemed genuinely interested in the subject. It was about time to go and as people started packing their textbooks and notebook I headed over to where Rarity was waiting.

“Rarity’ I said grinning

Her eyes glaze over me “You’re wearing a scarf” She said stepping closer to me

I smiled “I am”

“Good, I won’t have to feed you chicken noodle soup when we go home” She joked

I laughed “I guess not, too bad” I closed the distance between our lips.

When we pulled apart she said, “I missed you dear.”

I wrapped my wing around her pulling her close to me, “I missed you more” I stayed in thought for a moment, just enjoying this. “Thank you for coming”

She hummed “Don’t thank me it was a joy to hear you lecture darling.”

I blushed and nodded “Ready to go home,” I asked

“How about we stop at a restaurant before we leave?” She asked tilting her head up to look at me, courtesy of my newfound height.

“Of course.”

As we walked out of the lecture hall our tails intertwined we talked and laughed and I realized as much as I love lecturing Rarity was my joy.
