Radiance snorted and squared off against the evildoer. “And why’s that? I assure you, I’m more than enough to -”
“Yes yes - you’re more than enough to defeat me,” Mane-iac grumbled. “Are they coming or not? Seriously, it’s not like I have all night to faff about.”
None too pleased with the interruption, Radiance lifted a hoof. “After I drag you back to the asylum, you’ll have all the time in the world to -”
“No, really, where’s the rest of your team?” Mane-iac huffed as she leveled her gaze at the heroine.
Radiance’s temper flared. “They’re not coming.”
“I ~ excuse me?” Mane-iac coughed. “You’re telling me that I spent all this time running amok for nothing?”
“I…” Radiance trailed off.
Something was off, though she couldn’t put her hoof on it. After she’d received a call about Mane-iac being on the loose in the downtown shopping district, smashing windows and ransacking stores, she’d set off without a moment’s hesitation. It was a bit odd for the vile villain to be causing mayhem in this particular part of town, considering that the scoundrel wasn’t typically one for petty crimes, although she was only beginning to realize how odd things were.

“Grrrr,” Radiance growled through gritted teeth. Dispelling the energy construct, she tracked the villain up to a wall-mounted sign above a designer clothing shop. “Get down here this instant!”
Blowing her a raspberry, Mane-iac remained on her perch. “Make me - wait, that’s right, you can’t fly,” she giggled maniacally. Glancing down the road, she waved a hoof. “I’m sure the fire department will let you borrow a ladder - alternatively, you could cry to your friends for help.”
“What part of they’re not coming do you not understand?” Radiance quipped. “Honestly, I would have assumed that even a madmare like yourself could understand something so simple.”
Mane-iac grinned while she lazily lowered herself and hung in the air by her tail. “I understand you perfectly, but I’d planned - hoped to deal with all of you in one fell swoop.”
The corners of Radiance’s lips turned up as the villain spoke. “Was that it?” she inquired.
