Jackson was feeling especially anxious.

It wasn’t anxiety over a serious matter, to be frank, though it was nevertheless something he felt was important. Several months ago, he’d received an invitation to his cousin’s wedding, which was now only a month away. He hadn’t paid the invite much mind at the time.. But now, it was all he could think about.

Why was that? The answer was simple: he rarely went to fancy events like this, and had absolutely no idea how to present himself for the occasion. Most of his wardrobe consisted of t-shirts, shorts and sweatpants, he wasn’t particularly in shape, and in general he didn’t like how he looked in the mirror.

He’d panicked about this throughout the night prior, only stopping once he collapsed onto his bed from exhaustion. Part of him hoped that sleeping it off would alleviate some of his worry, though that didn’t seem to be the case. What the hell was he going to do n-

ding

That’s when he noticed something around his neck, something he definitely hadn’t been wearing last night. A silver necklace adorned with three blue gemstones, locked together in an aesthetically pleasing pattern.

Confused on how it got there, he tried to take it off to get a better look at it. How did something like that even get on him, anyway? Yet, something inside him told him not to. That feeling seemed alien to him, but he let it slide.

“I’m glad to see you already have at least some fashion sense.”

Wait, where did that voice come from? He jumped slightly as he tried to find the source. It was obviously female, but had a sort of pseudo-British accent, like she came out of a movie in the 40s. Transatlantic, was it?

"Wh-who said that?" he muttered.

“My apologies, I forgot to introduce myself. You can just call me Rarity, darling! I know this situation seems quite bizarre, but I can promise that I’m here to help you!~”

"...Alright, but how did you even know I needed help?"

“I suppose I can just sense these things! It comes with my responsibilities as the Element of Generosity~.”

"Element of Generosity?" He tilted his head before shrugging it off. "Nevermind." If some girl was now a voice in his head from a necklace that showed up on him out of nowhere, he didn't have much to complain about.

“Anyways, I believe you’re in need of some confidence? Luckily for you, I know just how to fix that problem!”

“And how's that?"

“I believe there’s an anecdote that best explains it… ah yes, ‘the clothes make the man’! You, darling, need a new outlook on life, and what better way to accomplish that than with a new wardrobe?~”

He thought about it. "I do need something for a wedding I'm going to in a month... Alright, lead the way."

“I’m so happy you see things my way! When I’m done with you, you’ll be the fanciest guest there!~”

Unsurprisingly, the first place Rarity told Jackson to go was a boutique. It was the kind of store he’d never actually been in, instead just looking at the glamorous outfits in the window displays.

"So, what exactly were you thinking for me? I'm not really that picky when it comes to suits, but I do like darker colors if that helps."

“I believe a darker shade of purple will suit you quite well! We just have to hope they have one in stock…”

"Noted." Looking around, they did have a rather dark blue-violet suit that both of them seemed to be drawn to. "How about this one? I kinda like it."

“Oh I adore that one! I’m certain you’ll look wonderful in it.”

"My thoughts exactly. Sad part is that it's bound to cost an arm and a leg. Why'd you make me come here if this stuff costs more than what I make in a year?"

"Did you really think I would have so little foresight, darling? Why don't you check your wallet?~"

Grabbing his wallet, he saw that his debit card was replaced with a new one with a shimmering violet foil to it, like a Pokémon card. "How much is on here?"

“As much as you need, and a little bit more~” Rarity giggled to herself as Jackson stared at the card, flabbergasted.

"Th-thank you so much..." he smiled as he immediately purchased the suit with his new card.

“It’s the least I could do, darling. Why would I stand by and watch when someone like you is in need of my help?~”

He chuckled as he soon left the store with the suit in tow. "Suit acquired. What now?"

"Now that you have the proper wardrobe, it'd be best to make your body look just as glamorous... Why not a salon visit? You can relax and watch yourself be beautified at the same time!~

"Sounds good to me," he nodded, the duo finding a high-end salon that seemed to be just as expensive as the boutique, and just as high-quality.

"Hmm, what to do today... might as well start small. A mani-pedi and massage will suffice."

He then purchased the package at Rarity's request. After waiting a bit, he would then be called up by a girl with a slight tan. Her fiery red hair had streaks of blonde throughout. "Hey, I'm Sam. I'll be in charge of your mani-pedi."

She guided him to a private room at the back of the salon, equipped with a comfortable-looking chair. “To start, I’m going to be taking care of your nails. Feel free to lie down and relax while I do so. Once I’m done, the masseuse will be in shortly.”

"Thanks~" He smiled as he obeyed her instructions. Lying down in the extremely soft chair, he put his arms on the cushiony armrests as Sam got to work.

Having noticed the purple suit in Jackson’s boutique bag, Sam took the opportunity to match the color of Jackson’s nails with it, painting them a deep shade of purple. She also applied a sparkling overcoat to each fingernail, knowing it would help them truly pop.

“And… we’re done! How does it look?”

He was surprised to see the deep violet on his nails, but Rarity seemed to like it, so he couldn't complain. "Really good, thank you." he nodded.

Sam smiled as she departed, only for the masseuse to enter the room seconds later. She was distinctly more tomboyish than her coworker, with dyed rainbow hair and clearly defined muscles between her shorts and tank top.

“Heya! Name’s Rina. Ready for your massage?”

"Of course~" He smirked, taking his shirt off before lying down on the supplied massage table.

Rina cracked her knuckles before getting to work, kneading and pressing Jackson like he was pizza dough. While he didn’t realize it, she wasn’t just relaxing him: her hands were literally changing his body! Any trace of body hair vanished wherever she touched, the rest following suit once enough had been eradicated. His legs and arms thinned out as his torso slimmed down dramatically, giving him something akin to an hourglass figure. His hands and feet became daintier, further emphasizing his painted nails, while his face softened and cheekbones sharpened. He moaned as his tomboyish masseuse pressed into his body, cracking his spine into a more upright state as she got rid of all the knots in his back.

“Eh, that should be good. That wasn’t too tough on you, was it?”

"It was perfect~" He sighed in absolute ecstasy, slowly getting up and putting his shirt back on.

“Glad to hear it. Come back here soon, kay?” Rina said with a carefree tone before leaving. Jackson took his leave as well, thanking the receptionist on his way out of the salon.

“Oh, that was just lovely!~ We definitely need to go back there again, don’t you agree Jackson?”

"Definitely!" He grinned, before noticing something different. "Uh, is it me, or do I feel colder all of a sudden?"

"I suppose you might, now that all that unsightly body hair is gone..."

"Odd..." He muttered. "Why are you so against it, anyways?"

"Do I need just onereason? It itches against the inside of outfits, it doesn't match with anything but swim trunks, and it just looks unsightly in general!"

"Hm, fair enough." He shrugged. "How about we call it a day for now?"

“Agreed. Best to continue our work tomorrow!~”

The next day, Jackson woke up with a gasp. "How come I never tried on the suit?"

"I suppose you were too focused on your salon trip, ehe~"

"Eh, perhaps~" he chuckled before attempting to try the suit on. With Rarity's help, it was pretty easy, but something still seemed off.

"I could've sworn this was an XL. What happened?"

“I suppose you’ve grown out of it? Strange, but it can’t be helped.”

"How? I got this yesterday!" He groaned before replacing it with his usual streetwear and preparing to return it.

“I mean… you did get that massage afterwards. Perhaps that had more of an effect on you than you thought.”

He had no time to think about it as they made it to the boutique and quickly returned the suit. "Might have to go for something different this time. What were you thinking?"

“Why don’t we just look around for a bit? No need to look for something specific, just keep your eyes peeled for anything that excites you!~”

"Sure, I guess."

Jackson took to wandering the aisles, trying to spot something he liked… only to find that something almost immediately: a low-cut baby-blue blouse and a frilled purple skirt.

Wait, why was he interested in that?! That was clearly a woman’s outfit… and yet, he couldn’t stop looking its way.

He couldn't say anything either, but Rarity took delight in his flabbergasted silence.

“My my… that would look adorable on you. But why the hesitation?”

"Because it's a girls' outfit, duh!" he retorted. "It'd probably look better on you than me."

“Why should the intended gender of an outfit matter to you? You clearly love it. There’s no need to limit your fashion choices based on silly societal norms!~”

"Yeah, but-" he stopped himself. He couldn't win against her, especially since how much she helped him the day before. Purchasing the dress, he shrugged it off from the cashier by saying it was something for his girlfriend. Rarity also managed to match said outfit with a violet belt with a crescent-moon buckle, golden bangles, and violet high-heeled boots with a diamond at the edge of their knee-high length.

“You and I both know that wasn’t the only girly outfit you were eyeing~.”

"Shut up." He rolled his eyes. "Anything else you were thinking while we're out?"

“Well… we could use another salon visit. I kept my mouth shut yesterday because I didn’t want to overwhelm you, but since everything else is fixed now… your hair is a mess.”

"Fair enough, I could use a trim." He nodded, heading back to the salon. This time, a paler young woman with pink hair named Sadie would end up being his stylist. She seemed to be a bit shy, but her touch was gentle as she tilted his head back into a washbasin and began to massage his scalp.

“T-This isn’t uncomfortable for you, is i-it?”

"Not at all, this feels amazing~" he sighed in bliss, feeling the gentle sensations of her gloved nails on his head, unaware that his hair was slowly lengthening inch by inch, turning a vivid purple that almost matched his nails.

Additionally, despite Sadie not touching his skin at all, it was beginning to shift in tone. Jackson had always been a bit pale, but that was being taken to a whole new level as his skin literally turned white.

Lastly, he didn't seem to notice as she would then cut, dry, and style his hair into a familiar set of side-parted curls and waves.

“So, h-how does it look?” Sadie spurted out as she held a mirror up to Jackson, clearly worried that she’d messed up somehow.

To her surprise, Jackson seemed to enjoy it, as did the voice in his head. "Hm, I like it."

“I must say, darling, you look absolutely marvelous!~”

“I-I’m so glad to hear t-that!”

"Thank you so much!" He smiled, leaving a generous tip for her as he paid for the salon trip.

“You’re looking more gorgeous than ever, Jackson!~ You’ve certainly come a long way since we first met!”

“Yeah, thanks again for everything.” He smiled.

“It was the least I could do, darling! Everything I did was to help you become your best self~.”

He blushed slightly before heading to sleep. She wasn’t lying. He did feel a lot more confident.

The next morning, Jackson felt the best he had in weeks. Not only was he actually proud of himself for the first time in a while, he’d also gotten the best night’s sleep of his life!

“Ahhh~ Good morning Rarity!~”

Wait, something had definitely changed…

“My… my voice?! Oh my…”

The voice leaving his mouth now sounded identical to the one inside his head.

It seemed he naturally adopted her transatlantic accent as well. "Um, what just happened? I sound surprisingly gorgeous~"

“What happened is that you’ve made more progress in becoming beautiful! Now you sound just as great as you look!~”

“Hm, only natural~” he beamed. “Now, what’s on our agenda today?”

“For once, I actually don’t have anything planned for you! Of course, you obviously still need to get dressed, comb your hair and put on your face, but beyond that you’re free to do whatever you so desire.”

“Then I must say thank you for everything you’ve done for me, Rarity~”

“Ehe~ I’m not quite done with you yet, but all you need to do is relax and let it happen~.”

“Oh, is that so?” He smirked as he prepared to get dressed, not before noticing his underwear cabinet was now full of bras and panties.

Wait, why would that bother him? His entire wardrobe was feminine now, he should at least have the proper undergarments for them.

He put a set of lingerie on, his body changing ever so slightly as he did so. As soon as the bra made contact with his chest, it burst out into a pair of small yet definitely noticeable breasts. The changes caused by the panties touching his rear were… more drastic. His ass expanded rather dramatically, while his private parts completely retracted between his legs, replaced by a slit.

Not that Jackson noticed any of this, of course. He was too preoccupied thinking about what he was going to do today! Perhaps some more shopping? Or maybe try out a local cafe? The possibilities were endless! Sure, he could always just stay home and relax… but that would just be cruel to all the people that wouldn’t get to see how beautiful he was, wouldn’t it?

As he contemplated, a flyer suddenly blew in through his open window.

“Huh? What’s this… there’s a fashion festival happening in town TODAY?!?”

He smirked. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

"Oh you bet I am~."

Quickly taking care of everything else that needed to be done in order to look glamorous as always, Jackson soon hurried out the door and headed toward the festival.

“Have I died and gone to heaven? Every outfit here is immaculate!!!”

"Definitely~" Jackson agreed. From dashing suits to glamorous dresses, both of them could be there all day with how much they wanted to explore.

They were so distracted by the rows and rows of outfits that they didn’t noti-

THUNK

…they didn’t notice that Jackson was about to collide with another festival-goer.

“O-Oh! My apologies, I didn’t see you there!”

"You're fine, sir~" he smiled. "It's my fault for not watching myself. I was just so distracted by the plethora of dresses here~"

Jackson had to admit, the guy standing in front of him right now was really hot. He looked to be around the same age as him, and on top of his pretty face, he was quite muscular. In many ways, he resembled the archetypal jock.

He did wonder what a guy like this was doing at a fashion show, but he wasn’t complaining about the chance to meet this beefcake!~

“You’re obviously going to ask him out, right?~”

"Why wouldn't I?" He thought back to her before tossing his violet locks back. "What's a cute face like you doing here, anyways?~"

“My sister’s one of the presenters here today. I’m not super into this stuff, but she means the world to me, so I always make sure to visit her shows.”

"Well, be sure to tell her that this festival is marvelous~" he giggled before pausing. He should definitely introduce himself, but the name Jackson just didn't fit a gorgeous body like his anymore...

"Anyways, my name's Rarity. Charmed~"

“Nice to meet you, Rarity. The name’s Mark, by the way.”

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you too, Mark~" he giggled. "You know, I could help you pick out an outfit here if you want~"

“I-I’m not sure there’s anything that would s-suit me here…” Mark replied, blushing as red as a tomato.

"Nonsense~ I know fashion like the back of my manicured hands~" he smirked in response. "You'll look simply ravishing once I'm done, trust me."

Delicately wrapping one of his arms around Mark, Jackson guided him deeper into the festival, prepared to have some fun with his unexpected new companion… or perhaps something a bit more?

“I can’t believe you two already have a date! You’ve learned so much from me in such a short time!~”

When Jackson came home that night, both he and Rarity were positively beaming. Mark had been totally wrapped around his fingers during the festival, and at the end of it all, he asked to go on a date with him! Though technically, their day at the festival had been a sort of date… eh, best not to be pedantic about it.

Aside from Mark’s obvious attraction to him, something else had become clear to Jackson at the festival. As far as anyone else was concerned, he looked, sounded and dressed like a woman in every regard, so most had believed he was one. Jackson didn’t quite see himself as a woman yet, but at the same time, he didn’t take much issue with the misunderstanding. Besides, women got better fashion choices than he ever had as a man, so why wouldn’t he want to dress like one?

"I couldn't believe it either! And not to mention how great he looked in that suit I bought him~" he grinned.

“Oh he looked absolutely gorgeous in that! He better wear it for the date, ehe~”

"I hope so~" Jackson sighed in bliss as he laid on his bed.

“Hmm…” Rarity thought for a moment before continuing. “Why should you keep him waiting to see you again? You could always send him some cute photos of yourself before then… ooh, maybe you could even start an Instagram! Let everyone see how beautiful you are!~”

"Ooh, that's a perfect idea~" he smirked before quickly setting up an account under the name diamondcarousel.

“Make sure to get your good side!~”

Jackson felt ecstasy surging through him with every selfie, making sure to show off every part of his gorgeous outfit, luscious hair and perfect face. He even puckered up for the camera in one of them, giving Mark a little tease for next time.

He took selfies for hours, watching his follower count slowly rise from thousands to ten thousands in such a short timespan. Satisfied, he prepared for bed, eager to see what his follower count would be once he woke up.

"This was an amazing day, Rarity~" he sighed as he closed his eyes.

“Sleep tight, Jackson… tomorrow will be the first day of your new life…”

Waking up the next morning, Jackson immediately checked his phone and gasped. 5 million followers, that quick?! He must have been dreaming!

Though something today felt… off. Rarity hadn’t responded to his Insta fame yet. In fact, she had gone completely silent…

Was she gone? What was he going to do without-

“HRRGH!”

All of a sudden, Jackson collapsed to the floor, his head throbbing in pain as he felt his mind start merging with another…

His mind was filled to the brim with knowledge of fashion, sewing, business management, gemology, and was he a unicorn in a past life or something? All of it was so confusing as vision soon blurred into nothingness.

Moments later, the woman who had once been Jackson stood up, slightly adjusting her hair and dusting off her silk pajamas.

“It seems we’ve become one. How marvelous~.”

Jackson wasn’t in charge of his own body anymore. He had merged fully with the voice in his head, becoming the glamorous fashionista he was always meant to be.

Rarity was here to stay.

Wishing to spread her generosity in worlds beyond her own, Rarity had enlisted Twilight Sparkle’s help in creating a necklace infused with a copy of her consciousness, which Twilight sent through the Crystal Mirror that sent her to the human world. Though, the human world was much different than what she knew, and the necklace happened to land onto a certain young man’s neck.

Given the success of this experiment, more Rarity necklaces were sure to come… and that prospect put a smile on the newly-created Rarity’s face. Not only was she eager to meet the original, but she was even more excited to help other Rarities become their true selves~.

But that would have to wait. Not only did she have a date soon, she also had a wedding to attend in a month.

Why not make dresses for both?
