//-------------------------------------------------------// Fluttershy's Hibernation -by ShayTheDog- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Fluttershy's Hibernation //-------------------------------------------------------// Fluttershy's Hibernation Fluttershy’s Hibernation. Between the drab, brown grass, the chilly breezes blowing, and the crunching of fallen leaves under one’s hooves as they trotted along, the fact that it was late Autumn in Ponyville was clear as crystal. This was always a transitional period of the year for the little village. The Running of the Leaves left the trees dull and leafless, and most of the other plantlife having shriveled up due to colder weather. The usually charming hamlet always looked blaise and bland this type of year without vibrant green leaves or colorful flowers to brighten up the outdoors. Not to mention that with Nightmare Night having come and gone, there were no exciting events to look forward to until the winter. And without snow on the ground, being outside in frosty temperatures and dingy scenery just wasn’t that appealing. So to keep their minds off of the yearly uneventfulness, ponies all over Ponville kept themselves occupied by focusing on preparing for Winter. Sweet Apple Acres had just finished its last apple harvest, and the Apple family was preparing to dry some apples, and make others into applesauce, to sell at Winter markets. In the upper floor of Carousel Boutique, Rarity was working on her latest line of winter clothing, so it would be ready by the first snowfall of the year. Rainbow Dash was getting instructions from Cloudsdale for how the Ponyville weather team should handle the first batch of snow clouds they’d receive later that month. A mutual friend of all these ponies was busy doing her own winter preparations. In a little cottage outside of the Everfree Forest, Fluttershy was filling up a large picnic basket with jars of honey. “There, once I deliver these, all the animals around here will have enough food to last the winter” she sighed. Despite the cool temperature, Fluttershy still had beads of sweat around her forehead. For months, she had been working tirelessly to ensure her creature friends would be able to last the winter after their food supply had been threatened. After a woodspony had cut down a lot of the oaks and pines in the nearby meadow, her little forest friends realized they were in big trouble! The decrease in oak trees meant squirrels and chipmunks lost a major source of acorns, crippling their hordes for winter. Likewise, having fewer pine trees meant a lack of bugs feeding off of their sap to provide food for wild birds. When Fluttershy heard of the damage this logging was causing, she promised her critter buddies she would make things right. Doing so had been difficult and had taken months. Fluttershy had to speak to Mayor Mare about the crisis, which required multiple formal presentations in front of her and the town council. It was a good thing Twilight had been able to sit-in on the meetings-if one of her best friends hadn’t been there, Fluttershy would have been way too anxious to utter a word. Still, she managed to have the trees of the meadow protected and convinced the town council to ban tree felling there. After gathering all her courage, she even convinced the woodspony to use wood from the much less critter-populated area on the opposite side of Ponyville, and that he had been chopping down far more trees than he really needed. That had just been the beginning. Fluttershy also had to find young trees to replace the old ones. Planting them all had been a long, arduous, and draining project. Even with some other local enviro-ponies helping, tree planting was a strenuous, backbreaking task not for the faint of heart. Then there was the biggest problem to solve: making sure her creature friends had enough food to survive the barren winter. Fluttershy worked hard to find the right berries, seeds, nuts, and vegetables to help her little friends stock up with food or bulk up with fat. She built countless critter-feeders (she couldn’t call them “birdfeeders” since they were intended for other animals too) so they would have solid substitutes for their old feeding trees. After the fright they had experienced, Fluttershy refused to leave a single critter without a stable food source for the winter or without enough food to fatten up for hibernation. The same could not be said for herself, however. The scale and urgency of this project often caused her to forget about meals, or forgo them in favour of getting more work done. In a similar vein, her dedication to her goals meant that she only got a couple hours of sleep some nights. That combined with the mental and physical energy required to complete her herculean mission had left her starving and ready to fall over at a moment’s after two straight months of keeping on it. But soon she’d be able to rest her weary hooves and wings. All she had to do was drop off some honey to her close friend Harry the Bear’s cave. Even a creature as mighty as him was affected by the lack of nuts available to eat to plump up for his long winter’s nap. She trudged along in the sharply cold autumn air, dragging the pots of honey in a cart behind her. After what seemed like an eternity to her sore, overworked legs, Fluttershy reached her destination. “There you are Harry,” she said, trying her best to smile despite her fatigue and having very dark bags under her eyes. “Now you should be good until springtime.” The grateful bear, and gave Fluttershy a firm, but cozy, hug. The warmth of his body and softness of his fur was almost enough to lul the yellow pegasus to dreamland, but she resisted and merely returned the hug. The bear sat down on a bed of matted leaves, and patted his paw down on them to offer Fluttershy a spot next to him. He even opened the lid of the honey jar and held it out for her. Harry had known Fluttershy since he was a cub, and had grown very fond of the kind pegasus.” “Oh, it's okay Harry,” Fluttershy politely refused. “You need it more than me. But I promise I’ll see you again before you go to sleep.” Satisfied that he’d be seeing his favourite creature one more time before his three month snooze, Harry simply gave a cheerful wave of his paw as Fluttershy slowly plodded out of his cave on her way home. Well, she thought she was on her way home. Unfortunately for the yellow pegasus, her exhaustion had dulled her mind and her senses. All she could think about was enjoying a hot cup of fresh tea in her nice, warm bed-so much so that she didn’t even notice she was walking towards the White Tail Woods instead of her cottage. She was simply too drowsy to register she was going the wrong way. However, she was able to register something else. She sniffed the air inquisitively. “Is that peppermint?” she asked aloud, to nopony in particular. She began to wonder how in Equestria she could smell peppermint when it didn’t grow in that forest, and found the answer upon stumbling into a clearing. There stood an inviting, cozy, cottage-but not her inviting, cozy cottage. Unlike her home, which she tried to make blend into the nature surrounding it as much as possible, this one was a classic cottage with walls made with noticeable bricks and mortar. It also had the classic angled roof, a stark contrast to her rounded one. It had large windows with neat, white trim and shutters. The only real differences this place had to the other dime a dozen cottages in around Ponyville were the extra-wide double front doors, and a usually large chimney. “Hello there, what brings you to this neck of the White Tail Woods,” asked a smooth, curious voice. Fluttershy let out an “EEEEP” before rapidly darting her eyes around to see if she could find who had said that. She eventually noticed the only other pony around-a unicorn mare who had just come out from behind the other side of the cottage. Fluttershy felt her posture stiffen, her eyes go wide, and her heartbeat quicken-the same thing that happened everytime a new pony spoke to her out of the blue. Instinctively, she began looking over the stranger, trying to figure out what she had gotten herself into. This mysterious mare simultaneously looked pretty normal, as far as Fluttershy could tell. She had a dark gray coat, and a wavy violet mane and tale which were both average in length. She had blue eyes, and accented them with some mauve eyeshadow. Overall, she looked like a pretty average unicorn mare. The only somewhat odd feature about her was her hat, which was tall, black, and had a hole for her horn to be poked through freely. The hat would have looked like a cone with a wide brim on the bottom if it weren’t for being bent in a couple of places near the top, which caused it to form a zig-zag shape. Fluttershy pondered the mare’s hat for a moment. While it wasn’t a common sight, it wasn’t that unusual. Twilight had told her that in the old days unicorns who were strongly devoted to magic, such as Starswirl the Bearded, would often wear pointed hats as a symbol of their knowledge and prowess. While the tradition had mostly faded, some great magic users continued to do so–especially those interested in old-fashioned practices. “Oh don’t be frightened,” the mare continued, speaking in a tone that was almost as soft and maternal as Fluttershy’s natural speech pattern. “I didn’t mean to startle you, I’m just not used to receiving visitors out here.” The mare’s reassuring voice relieved Fluttershy, as she felt some of the tension in her body slowly start to leave. “Oh, it's my fault for…YAWWWWN… not introducing myself,” she said, blushing a bit from yawning in the middle of her sentence. “It's wonderful to meet you, my name is Fluttershy.” “I’m Spellbound,” the mare replied. “So, what brings you this far from Ponyville?” “W-well, I was just dropping off some honey for Harry the bear before he started hibernating,” Fluttershy stammered. “I was planning to go back to my cottage afterward, but I must have made a wrong turn. Can you tell me how to get to Ponyville from here?” she asked. Spellbound stepped closer to Fluttershy. “My dear, you can’t walk all the way to Ponville in your condition. Just look at you-those are the deepest, darkest eye bags I’ve ever seen! Your legs look ready to give out at any second! Oh, and you look so thin, I can see your bones! Have you been eating enough?” “I-I have been missing m-meals lately,” Fluttershy stammered. “But it's not something you…YAAWWWN… need to worry about.” Spellbound shook her head. “Sounds to me like you’ve been missing out on sleep too.” “Well, I have been very busy lately. I had to make sure all my critter friends had enough food to last the winter. Ever since they lost so many of the trees where they sourced their food…” But before she could continue, Spellbound had put a firm but gentle hoof to her lips. “I heard through the Ponyville grapevine about that tree replanting project. I know what an important job it was, but look at you-you’ve run yourself ragged. So I insist that you come inside, get warm, and have something to eat before you go home.” Fluttershy could tell from the tone of her voice that Spellbound wasn’t going to take no for an answer. Just then her stomach let out a rumble, as she had forgotten to fix dinner the night before, and was so focused on making her last critterfeeders that morning that she had gone without breakfast. “Well, I guess I could stay for a little while,” Fluttershy conceded. She stared timidly at her hooves “I mean, as long as it isn’t any trouble, I mean.” Spellbound used her magic to open her front doors. “Its no problem at all deary, follow me inside, let me share some of the delicious treats I’ve baked today.” As Fluttershy made her way into Spellbound’s cottage she noticed her cutie mark for the first time. It depicted an old fashioned cauldron. However, instead of a regular ladle, sticking out of the cauldron was what looked like red and white striped peppermint candy on a lollipop stick. It was unusual, but Fluttershy thought it was very fitting for a pony who appeared to be interested in old-fashioned magic. The interior of Spellbound’s cottage looked as if someone tried to perfectly produce an idealized version of the “cozy cottage” aesthetic. The Chairs and sofa were all soft and plush, covered with colourful pillows and blankets which Fluttershy was certain were sewn by hoof. The walls were all covered in boards painted white for a simple, but fetching look. This was complemented by the polished wooden floor which shone in well-lit spots. The kitchen was utterly spic and span, with lots of baking utensils and large jars of spices all completely clean and easy to find. “Wow, your cottage is so beautiful,” Fluttershy said. Then she noticed a large hearth in the corner. After seeing Spellbound’s cutie mark, she wasn’t surprised to see a large cauldron suspended over a crackling fire. “Thank you so much Fluttershy.” Spellbound said, using her magic to close and lock the doors behind them. “But first thing’s first” she continued, “how about you sit down while I get you some nice peppermint hot chocolate? Its the best thing to drink during these frigid days.” “Oh, that’s what that yummy smell was. I would love to try some please,” Fluttershy said as she sat down in a very soft comfy chair without foreleg rests. She was so distracted by the relief that sitting brought to her tired body that she didn’t notice how wide the chair was. She also didn’t notice that Spellbound discreetly used her magic to levitate a spice shaker out of her kitchen cupboard, and shake a good deal of its sparkling contents into the cauldron of hot chocolate before she ladled some into a very large mug for Fluttershy. “Drink up dear, it's the perfect temperature,” Spellbound said in a voice that sounded like she was a mother talking to her young foal. Fluttershy took the mug with her wing. After blowing on to be sure she didn’t burn her tongue, she took a sip. She let out a moan of pleasure. “That is delicious!” she said fairly loudly (which for her was the equivalent of screaming at the top of one’s lungs for a normal pony). “I’m glad you like it. I’ve got a whole cauldron’s worth. Here, I baked these cinnamon cookies today, too, have as many as you’d like,” the gray mare continued, levitating a huge baking sheet of cookies and setting them on a side table beside Fluttershy’s chair. Fluttershy was stunned by how many cookies there were. There must have been no less than four dozen. “Oh, just one will be fine,” Fluttershy said softly. “I don’t want to take advantage of your hospitality.” Spellbound gave a dismissive wave of her hoof. “Nonsense. I never get visitors around here, so I’m happy to give you as much as you’d like. Besides, we both know that you’re hungry.” Fluttershy’s stomach let out another growl, causing her to blush and Spellbound to give a soft smirk. “Well, as long as you’re okay with it, I suppose I can have a few more,” Fluttershy conceded. She grabbed a cookie from the tray with her wing. They were large cookies, about 4 inches in diameter, so it was pretty easy to hold one. She took a bite and let out another moan. “OHHHH, these are wonderful, just the right amount of sweetness and spice.” Fluttershy took another big bite out of the cookie, still not believing how anything could possibly taste this good. She reasoned it was simply because she had never had cinnamon cookies before (as oatmeal was her go-to flavor) and was so hungry that her belly was enjoying being filled even more than usual due to her near starvation. After polishing off her cookie, she took another sip of her hot cocoa, the perfect drink to wash down the cookie. Then she grabbed another one from the baking sheet. It was just as good as the first one. After gulping it down, she pondered if she should have a third, she didn’t want to be greedy after all, that would be so rude to her host. But when her tummy rumbled again, she remembered Spellbound’s offer and grabbed cookie number three. Then cookie number four. And five. And six. And seven, eight, nine, and ten. At that point, Fluttershy broke out of her cookie induced trance. “Should I really be eating so many of these?” Her stomach let out a growl to answer her question. “Still, even if I am hungry, I should probably be eating a proper meal, not just sweets.” But as Fluttershy was about to get out of her chair, she couldn’t help but stare at the tray of cookies and stop. Her stomach rumbled yet again. “Wow, I’m still hungry? Who knew skipping a couple of meals could build up such an appetite?” she mused to herself. Her focus turned back to the cookies. “Well…I guess having a little celebration meal won’t be too bad,” she reasoned. “I don’t eat a lot of sweets that often, so having dessert for dinner once should be okay. I mean, I’m sure Pinkie Pie’s done it more than once and she’s still healthy.” With that, Fluttershy sat down and returned to her cookies. This time displaying more avarice than she ever did in another pony’s house before and taking two at a time. Then three. Then four. And as she took the cookies, she began to eat with less and less restraint. She was taking huge bites, sinking her teeth into multiple cookies stacked up at once, and eating them so quickly that crumbs were spilling everywhere. Fluttershy didn’t even realize she was acting so gluttonous, she was too deep into her cookie stupor and exhausted from her prior labor to notice. The only thing that snapped her out of said stupor was when she reached for more cookies and realized the tray was empty. As if on cue, Spellbound walked into the sitting room from the kitchen, levitating another tray behind her. “My, my, you certainly were hungry, weren’t you dearie.” “Oh I was,” said Fluttershy, “Your cookies were incredible. I can’t believe I ate them all.” “Well I’m not,” Spellbound countered. “You’ve been overworked and underfed for too long. That’s why I made you a batch of these white chocolate blondies.” She lowered the tray. “They’re like brownies, but made with a base of brown sugar and vanilla for flavor instead of cocoa. And there’s lots of white chocolate chips inside.” Fluttershy looked at the tray of mouthwatering squares of deliciousness. “Are you sure I should have these? I just ate a lot of cookies, I don’t want to eat too much sugar or be too greedy.” “I won’t force you,” Spellbound replied, “but at least have another mug of peppermint hot chocolate before you go.” Fluttershy glanced at her empty mug. She had drunk the last of her hot chocolate a while back, before she had finished eating the cookies, so she was a little thirsty. “Well, I suppose another mug won’t hurt. Besides, it was such a wonderful drink, I'll gladly take some more, please.” With that Spellbound refilled her mug. As Fluttershy took a long sip, she heard her stomach rumble again. “Oh my! I must have been hungrier than I thought.” She looked down, and grimaced. After eating roughly four dozen large cinnamon cookies, it was only natural that her belly had swollen…a lot! She looked like she was pregnant and close to her due date (with a very large foal to boot). However, despite being aware that she had eaten so much, and having the belly bulge to show for it, Fluttershy didn’t feel any discomfort. She thought that eating so many sugary cookies would have given her a headache or made her nauseous, but she didn’t feel any of the usual symptoms of sugar overconsumption. In fact, as she sipped on her hot cocoa, the minty, chocoatly fluid seemed to reinvigorate her appetite. “Um, if it's not too much trouble, may I please have some of those blondies after all,” she asked meekly, blushing a bit from asking for more after having eaten so much. “Fluttershy, dearie, you can have all of them if you’d like,” Spellbound said as she set the tray down on the side table, covering its top completely. “You’ve been working so hard lately you deserve a little treat.” “That’s very kind of you to say, thank you so much,” Fluttershy said before grabbing a blondie with her wing. Like her first cinnamon cookie, the first bite of the blondie was a flavor explosion of a magnitude Fluttershy could not have foreseen. The decadent taste and soft, chewy texture were so divinely sensual that she could feel her eyes roll back in her head a bit with pleasure. Fluttershy enjoyed the blondie so much it was gone in three bites-despite the fact that it was quite wide, quite long, and very thick. Fluttershy grabbed another one and ate it so fast that you would have thought it had been disintegrated by magic. She soon fell into a rhythm: shove a whole blondie into her mouth, then another, and follow that with a big swig of her hot cocoa. Just as she started chewing the final blondie, Spellbound walked back into the sitting room. “I’m so glad you liked my blondies.” After swallowing the last of the hot chocolate in her bug, Fluttershy responded with “Oh I loved them. You are an incredible baker, Spellbound, you should be proud of yourself.” “Thank you, Fluttershy. I’m glad you’re enjoying my goodies.” “Oh, I really am,” added, leaning back into the chair in relaxed comfort, like Rainbow Dash liked to do in clouds and beach chairs. As she did, she couldn’t help but notice something felt a little odd. Naturally, her belly was even bigger now, reaching over knees despite keeping its taut, spherical shape. However, she could have sworn that her rump was touching more of the surface of the cozy chair’s seat than it had been early, like it had gotten bigger. Of course, Fluttershy knew that was impossible. Sure, she was certainly going to put on some weight after binging on desserts like this, but it's not like her stomach could convert food in less than an hour-not enough to make her rump noticeably larger anyway. Her thoughts on her enlarged rump were disrupted by a clunk. Spellbound had placed yet another tray of baked goods on the side table-this time it was a humongous muffin tin filled with what smelled like freshly-baked carrot cupcakes. Fluttershy noticed each one of them also had a large swirling of alabaster icing. Having spent enough time around Pinkie Pie and the Cakes, Flutter was almost certain that it was cream-cheese icing, as it was traditional to serve carrot cake with it. “Those smell so wonderful,” Fluttershy stammered, transfixed by their sweet aroma and perfectly frosted appearance. “If it's not too much to ask, may I please have a couple?” she asked Spellbound with wide hopeful eyes. The hatted mare chucked. “Of course my dear, you could have the entire tin if you wanted.” Fluttershy was quite certain that after eating so many cookies and blondies she wouldn’t have room for all of them, but she wasn’t feeling stuffed to the gills either, so she figured she could at least have a couple to top her off. “Want some more peppermint hot chocolate to go with those cupcakes, dearie?” Spellbound asked, already levitating Fluttershy’s mug and walking over to her cauldron. “Oh, yes please,” said Fluttershy excitedly. She had never pigged out like this before, but between the warmth of the cozy cottage, Spellbound’s motherly hospitality, the soft, cushy chair she sat it, and how absolutely delicious Spellbound’s desserts were, she felt like she could spend hours just sitting and glutting to de-stress after months of excruciating work. When Spellbound returned with a third mug of hot chocolate, Fluttershy had already eaten her first carrot cupcake. As carrot cake was one of her preferred desserts, she had eaten it many times before. But these cupcakes were truly the best. She felt fireworks of scrumptiousness explode in her mouth, which paired perfectly with the rich, creamy texture the cream cheese icing provided. Fluttershy took a sip of cocoa to cleanse her palette. All of a sudden, she could have sworn she heard her stomach rumble. She dismissed that as impossible, as she had already eaten more than she normally would in an entire month, and had the beach ball-sized belly to prove it. But she did find herself not feeling as stuffed as she had a moment before, so she decided she could have more than “a couple” of cupcakes. “More than a couple” soon morphed into “all of them.” Fluttershy usually tried to have good table manners, as she would hate to be rude to anyone she was eating with, but these cupcakes were so good that her adherence to proper dining etiquette became lax. She started grabbing a cupcake and peeling the liner off while she still was still chewing a whole one. Both her wings were constantly unwrapping cupcakes or popping them into her mouth, stopping only for an occasional hot chocolate break. “I just want a few more” she’d keep thinking to herself. But that few more was always followed by another few more. As Fluttershy rapidly devoured the cupcakes, she also began to make a mess in Spellbound’s cottage. She ended up getting quite a few crumbs on her distended belly, which would fall onto the chair or the carpet. She also threw her discarded cupcake liners on the ground. Under normal circumstances, Fluttershy would never have done something so slovenly or thoughtless, but her mind was focused solely on the consumption of cupcakes at the moment. Upon seeing her guest acting like a glutton with no regard for anything but her next morsel, Spellbound let out a small smile. “Glad to see my special mixture is working,” she whispered to herself, “maybe it's time I up the ante.” She took advantage of Fluttershy’s preoccupation with the cupcakes to grab the same spice shaker she had used before with her telekinesis. Spellbound quickly unscrewed the top and dumped all of its contents into her cauldron “Well my dear, are you feeling more rested?” she asked with a voice as sweet as honey in a beehive, and alluring as cheese in a mousetrap. “Oh Spellbound, you’ve been so kind to me” Fluttershy whispered as she rubbed her belly idly. She didn’t seem to notice that if she were to stand on all fours it would probably rustle the grass when she walked. “I can’t remember the last time I took some time to myself like this.” “Might I tempt you with some more hot chocolate, I made so much I couldn’t possibly drink it all myself.” Now, if Fluttershy had been in the right mind, she might have asked “Then why did you make so much, didn’t you say you hardly got any visitors here?” However, a combination of the fatigue of her work for the past two months setting in, and feeling utterly blissed out in a warm, soothing cottage had dulled her mind. Therefore she simply said “Yes please” and waited for more chocolatey, minty divinity in a mug. Spellbound tried not to smirk as she got it for her. She knew this would be the point where her guest would reach her tipping point. Then there was no going back for her victim. She levitated it over to Fluttershy, who lazily took it with her wing and brought it to her lips. Fluttershy’s eyes suddenly went from half-lidded to open as wide as possible as she took her sip. The hot chocolate somehow managed to taste even better than the first three cups. Drinking it was the single greatest sensation she had ever experienced. The hot chocolate’s minty smell invigorated more than anything she had ever felt before. Each and every one of her tastebuds was overwhelmed with the richest flavor she had ever known., The warmth of the beverage seemed to permeate throughout her entire body. She couldn’t help but drain the whole mug in one shot. “That was the greatest thing I’ve ever drank or eaten ever” she gushed. Just then, her stomach rumbled violently. So violently that Fluttershy’s stuffed gut vibrated for a good ten seconds. During this time Fluttershy’s gut went from globular and tight to soft and doughy, yet just as gigantic and plump. Despite a practical earthquake going off in her gut, Fluttershy took no notice. All she knew was that she was hungry–no, starving. Her hunger panes were so great it felt like she hadn’t eaten in months. Fluttershy turned to Spellbound. “Spellbound, I hope it's not too greedy of me to ask but, do you happen to have any other goodies I can snack on, please?” “Fluttershy, I had a feeling you would ask. While you were enjoying the treats I made earlier, I was in the kitchen working on plenty of fresh cakes just for you. Have as many as you’d like, Sweetie,” Spellbound explained. As she spoke, she levitated many cakes over to the table in front of her. Fluttershy started drooling at the magnificent sight in front of her. These cakes looked like they were made by the finest pastry chef in Canterlot–only far larger. So much larger that their weight caused the table's legs to noticeably sag. “Might I start you off with a slice of coconut cake?” asked Spellbound, already cutting a slice of the confection which was taller than Fluttershy’s head and roughly four inches wide. “Yes! Yes please!” shouted Fluttershy as she started at the slice being floated towards her. After she used her left wing to lift up her plate, she instinctively reached for a fork or spoon–only to realize there were none. “Excuse me…” she began to ask. But before she could ask her hatted host for a utensil, the succulent tropical scent of coconut wafted from the slice up to her nostrils, her inhibitions were gone in a flash. She simply lifted the plate up to her mouth and began to gobble it up. “Neveff minfff” she said through a mouthful of smooth, creamy goodness. Spellbound tried not to smile too much as Fluttershy began to scarf down the cake like she was a pig eating out of a trough. She simply levitated over another slice, before Fluttershy had even finished the first one. “Thank you, I washhh going to askshhh for ssshome more, anyway.” Flutter said throught a mouth full of cake and icing before continuing to shove slice after slice of the coconutty confection into her mouth, stopping only ocaaionly to wipe down her cheeks with her wings and lick the sweet remains off her feathers. This kept up until Fluttershy let out a massive “BURRRRRPPP” after she finished off the last of the coconut cake. Rather than consider how much she had eaten like she had previously, Fluttershy simply drained her mug of hot cocoa to quench her thirst and wondered what type of cake Spellbound would bring her next. Her questions answered itself when Spellbound placed a pumpkin cheesecake that was wider than the table it was placed on top of Fluttershy’s enormous belly bulge. “Thank you so much” Fluttershy, said as quickly as possible before she dove face first into the insanely rich autumnal dessert. As Spellbound refiled Flutteshy’s mug yet again, she couldn’t help but notice that her guest’s body was growing right before her eyes. Fluttershy’s belly was now so big it extended almost to her hooves, and so wide that Fluttershy wouldn’t have been able to wrap her wings even halfway around her middle if she tried. And that wasn’t the only part of her that was growing-her glutes were bigger than beach balls, and were squished together by the sides of her easy chair. Her excess butt blubber bulged over the armrests, showing off her butterfly cutie marks. Her limbs were swelling with new fat as well, looking thick and pillowy. Even her face had been a victim of the thousands upon thousands of calories she had conumsed that day, having spouted a double chin and her cheeks looking like a squirrel’s when carrying acorns. Fluttershy took no notice. She was only concerned with continuing her feast of hot cocoa and cake. Spellbound wasn’t even bothering with slicing the cakes anymore. She’d just pass the whole platter and watch as the ravenous pegasus started taking huge bites. Even Harry, a bear who had no idea what a knife and fork were, would've been shocked by how slovenly Fluttershy was acting as she tipped the plate to dump that last of the cheesecake into her mouth. After licking the platter clean of all the crumbs from the wonderfully crisp graham cracker crust, Fluttershy was instantly presented with a marble cake. She was so deep in her sugar-based trance she didn’t even thank Spellbound. Not that the older mare minded, she was just happy that the powder she had poured in the hot cocoa was working, and was looking forward to seeing the end results. ******************************* Fluttershy breathed heavily. She couldn’t bring herself to do anything else. She had finished her final cake a few minutes ago, and was all together too stuffed to do much else. The massive lump of food in her gut caused her some discomfort and made every breath loud and laborious. The aftermath of the feast she had consumed was obvious. Her entire body had become absolutely enormous after eating more calories, fat, and sugar in one afternoon than anypony in their right mind would eat in a decade. Her rump had gotten so expanded so much that it would surely be wider than and crush any sofa she would attempt to sit on in the near future. Each of her glutes was far wider than the seat of the easy chair that was now in pieces after being crushed underneath her massive blubber body. Each of the butterflies on her cutie mark was now bigger than it used to be in its entirety, and couldn’t help but draw attention to how the humongous, amorphous blobs that were now her flanks. Her face had grown immensely as well, with her cheeks being so round and plump you would have thought she had stuffed an orange into each one. Below those sat her quadruple chin, which rested on a pile of flabby neck rolls. The rolls were thick and doughy enough that they could easily be pinched between two hooves-or to easily envelope a unicorn’s horn between them. One of the more telling signs of Fluttershy’s sudden onset obesity was the size of her legs. The squishy cylinders of flab made Fluttershy’s nearly obscured hooves look comically tiny in comparison, and were far too heavy for her to have a hope of moving by herself. Her forelegs were so big they could be used as pillows, but certainly could not be used to hold anything in their crooks anymore. Still, Fluttershy’s rapid weight gain had left her with one feature that was easily the most distinguishable above all else: a ridiculously huge belly. It was so huge that Fluttershy’s legs couldn’t even reach the ground because of how much lift it gave her. She couldn’t even properly stand up anymore–just rest on her enormous midsection. Her belly gave her a great circumference as well, it extended out past her face, wingspan, and even her rear. Had it not been the same shade of yellow as the rest of her, you’d have thought she would’ve been sitting in an enormous bean bag chair. But no, it was an enormous belly which she had would up with after consuming a feast fit for hundreds all by herself in one afternoon. As Fluttershy slowly breathed and came to her senses after the sugar rush (or whatever she was feeling before) began to fade, she still had trouble thinking straight. She didn’t even realize just how fat she had gotten, and before she could process her new size, Spellbound walked back to her from her Cauldron. “My my ,Fluttershy. I am so happy you liked all of my treats. Especially since none of them will go to waste now.” She placed her hoof on Fluttershy’s belly and began to gently rub it back and fourth, causing most of her soft, warm mass to jiggle along with it. Spellbound could help but give a big grin as she admired her work. “Still, I can’t help but think you must be thirsty, considering I ran out of hot chocolate before you finished trying all my cakes. Are you, my dear?” Fluttershy could only nod her head yes, feeling too stuffed to speak. Her cheeks and neck rolls loudly slapped together as she did, and continued to wobble several seconds after she had stopped. Spellbound let out a soft chuckle. “In that case, how about some nice warm milk, I started heating some up in the cauldron after you finished the hot cocoa. Would you like some?” she asked in a deceptively sugary voice. Fluttershy simply nodded so quickly her entire body started to shake. She was pretty thirsty, since she had eaten the last dozen cakes without anything to help wash them down. So thirsty in fact, that she didn’t have a problem when Spellbound had levitated the entire cauldron over to her and brought it to her lips. Fluttershy instinctively began to drink the milk. She shuddered a bit as it slid down her throat. It was the perfect temperature-nice and warm, but not scalding hot, and the heat helped to soothe her overstuffed stomach. The taste was exquisite as well. Fluttershy had never tasted milk quite like this-so rich, yet delicate. As it filled up the last crevices of space in her bulging belly, Fluttershy felt the warmth thread to her entire body. Fluttershy felt her eyelids getting droopy, and she drank, but continued to chug the milk, not want to deny its relaxing pleasure. When she had finished the last drop from the cauldron, before she could even give a content yawn, Fluttershy’s eyes closed, and she felt herself succumbing to the desire for sleep. Spellbound set down the cauldron and smirked. The sleeping potion she had added to the milk was even more effective than the appetite and digestion enhancing powder she had put in the hot chocolate. She decided to perform a little test to make sure it worked as intended. She put both hooves against the front of Fluttershy’s belly and went hog wild, kneading and groping it as much as possible! Yet no matter how much she savored and jiggled the malleable, warm fat, Fluttershy continued to slumber. As much as Spellbound would have loved to continue playing with her latest victim’s new adipose, she knew that it would be best to finish her plan off first. Using all of her concentration, she levitated the mega-obese pegasus off the ground. Even for a unicorn as seasoned in magic as herself, this was a herculean feat. Still, if she didn’t want to deal with some difficulties caused by ponies being massively overweight, she’d never indulge her desires like this. Still, she was happy that she had the foresight to make sure there was a wide path from the living room to the exit, and that she had those double wide doors installed, it would make it easier to get Fluttershy to her destination. As she left her cottage, she took some pleasure in squeezing the yellow pegasus out of the doors, as her belly still brushed against the sides even if they were extra wide. “I really outdid myself with this one,” Spellbound mused as she walked. After a short hike out of the White Tail Woods and back to the Forest near Fluttershy’s cottage, the baking witch made it to her final stop: a large cave. Inside, there was a bear licking the last bit of honey out of a jar. As soon as he saw Spellbound he snapped to attention. Harry wasn’t a violent creature, but he knew that some ponies would gladly hurt animals if given the chance–they weren’t all kind like Fluttershy. But then his nose picked up a familiar smell. Sure enough, there was his longtime pony friend and caretaker, being floated along behind the strange mare in the weird hat. Of course, Harry was surprised that she was now so large. Since when did ponies bulk up in the winter like bears did? “Your friend told me she wanted to hibernate with you,” Spellbound said, sounding so sincere you’d never guess she was lying. “I saw how exhausted she was after helping all of you get ready for Winter, so I helped her bulk up so she could sleep with you all season. She said she’d love to spend it with you.” Harry beamed. He had seen how exhausted Fluttershy had been for the past few months, so hibernation would be the perfect way for her to regain her energy. Besides, how could he turn down spending the winter with his favorite creature in the world, even if they would just be sleeping? Harry cleared some loose sticks, removed himself from his bed and motioned with his paws for Spellbound to come in. Any friend of Fluttershy’s was a friend of his, after all. Spellbound gently placed Fluttershy down on Harry’s leaf bed, on her back. Harry instantly started cuddling up next to her. Her big body was so warm and soft he didn’t even mind she took up the whole bed and then some. Spellbound likewise climbed up and allowed herself to sink into Fluttershy’s massive belly. This was always her favorite part of fattening up unsuspecting ponies, getting to enjoy herself in comfort and get to enjoy all of the chub she had helped them gain up close and personal. Of all her fattening schemes, this one was by far her greatest. She hadn’t been lying when she said that Fluttershy needed a rest, she had seen her enough times around the forest to know that she was running herself ragged. This hibernation would leave her relaxed and refreshed in the Spring. She was really doing the pegasus a favour. By that time her body would have used up most of her new fat reserves, meaning she would be mobile again when she woke up-just more jiggly than she’d been that morning. Until then, Spellbound would be able to pop by this cave and relish her handiwork all winter long. She decided to start by sticking her nose down Fluttershy’s bottomless pit of a belly button and hugging her tummy flab with all four legs. Yes, this was going to be her best Winter ever. .
