Centuries ago, gods appeared in Equestria and together with the mortal ponies, lived in harmony for many years. Sadly, peace did not last long and the gods were slowly picked apart one by one by a force known as The Darkness. Eventually, only one god was left. Shining Celestia, the Goddess of Sun and Day. Saddened and lonely, Shining Celestia locked herself away in a floating kingdom, waiting for somepony to arrive to help the sister she had to banish and the gods that were locked away.

Enter Twilight Sparkle, librarian and former student from Canterlot. Her life is going to get very interesting when the 1000th Summer Sun Celebration hits.
