OH SH×T! My Adoption Plans: Day - 26
Previous ChapterNext ChapterMellow's eyes shot open, her heart racing as the reality of the day crashed over her like a wave. Today was the day she was getting adopted. Snookie looked up at her, her 4 eyes gleaming with excitement. She knew today was the day that Mellow's Plans is finally gonna start.
With a deep breath, Mellow climbed out of bed and approached the small tall mirror 🪞 in the corner of the room. She focused her magic, and the air around her shimmered the runes she had casted danced on the tips of her hooves, casting a gentle light over her and Snookie. The spider squeaked in delight as the magic tickled her fur.
Once they were both clean, Mellow donned her favorite ruffle shirt and shoes, tying her ribbons into neat bows. She knew Fizzle is coming today and she just need to mentally prepare herself. Snookie chittered encouragingly from her perch on the bedpost, sensing Mellow's nerves.
The sound of a knock echoed through the corridor, and Mellow's stomach did a somersault. It was time for lunch. She took a deep breath, trying to push her anxiety aside. "Coming!" she called out, her voice a little shakier than she intended.
The door opened to reveal Nurse Redheart, her mane impeccably groomed as always. "Mellow, it's time for lunch," she said, her eyes filled with a gentle warmth that never failed to make Mellow feel a little better, I guess she's here to hangout with Silver Lining again.
Mellow nodded, trying to force a smile. "Okay," she said, her stomach rumbling. She followed the nurse down the hall, her shoes echoing on the tiles. The cafeteria was bustling with the chatter of foals and the clatter of dishes. The smell of food filled the air, but nothing looked appealing to Mellow's nervous stomach.
"I'll just play in the entertainment room," she told Silver Lining, the orphanage's director, as she passed by. The pony nodded, a knowing smile playing on her lips. She had seen this look in Mellow's eyes before—the look of a pony trying to hide their fear behind a mask of bravery.
The entertainment room was a place of refuge, where the orphans could escape the realities of their situations for a few precious moments. It was filled with books, games, and a cozy corner, it's also a place where Mellow had jer Movie Night Yesterday 🌙 with every creature.
But today, as Mellow entered, she was drawn to the piano 🎹 in the corner. It was a grand, gleaming instrument that seemed to be untouched for a while. She approached it hesitantly, her hooves feeling the smooth cold wood of the keys. She use to play a few instruments in her past life, but got too busy with responsibilities her family expected from her.
She decided to play a Melody called "Hope by Tony Ann" to bring something lovely to every creature will never forget, the day she will leave the orphanage.
The foals in the room looked up from their various activities, their eyes filled with curiosity. They had never seen Mellow show an interest in music 🎶, but there was something about the way he approached the piano that made them pause. Mellow took a deep breath and placed her hooves on the keys, her eyes closed as she allowed the melody of hope to flow through her.
(Of course her used her Auto Skills, since she doesn't know how to play the Piano without Fingers.)

The first notes resonated through the room, a gentle cascade of sound that seemed to soothe the very air itself. Snookie, sensing the moment, began to weave delicate webs in the air, her movements perfectly in sync with the music. The webs 🕸 caught the light from the windows 🪟, casting intricate patterns on the walls and ceiling.
The foals slowly gathered around, their eyes wide with wonder as Mellow's hooves danced over the keys, creating a symphony of sound that seemed to speak directly to their hearts 💝. The melody grew stronger, more vibrant, filling the air with a sense of warmth and comfort.
The staff looked on, their expressions a mix of awe and sadness. They knew that this moment was bittersweet—Mellow was sharing a piece of herself with them, a gift 🎁that was both a farewell and a declaration of the strength that lay within her.
The melody grew more complex, the notes intertwining with Snookie's webs in a mesmerizing dance. The foals were captivated, their young minds absorbing every sound, every sparkle of light. It was a performance that transcended mere entertainment, becoming a shared experience of emotion and understanding.
As the last notes echoed through the room, the silence was absolute. Then, as if on cue, the foals erupted into applause, their Hooves/Claws and Paws clapping together in a thunderous display of appreciation. Mellow's cheeks flushed with pleasure, and she looked up to see the smiles on their faces.
Snookie descended from the air, landing gracefully on the piano. She looked at Mellow with her 4 eyes with a knowing look.
Mellow took a deep breath, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Thank you, every creature," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "This means more to me than you'll ever know."
The staff and foals around her nodded, their eyes filled with a mix of happiness and sadness. They knew that Mellow was ready to leave, ready to take on the world outside the orphanage walls. But they also knew that a part of her would always remain here, in the hearts of those who had come to watch the Movie she shared and listened 🎶 to her Music.
The room grew quiet once again as Mellow and Snookie made their way back to their room. Mellow lay in bed, her thoughts racing.
She hadn't seen Fizzle since the secret meet up, well... except the part that her notification randomly popped up in the Middle of the Movie and told her that Fizzle is watching the Movie two blocks behind her. When she turns around, Fizzle noticed her and gave her a Thumbs Up with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Mellow could tell that their plan is going smoothly, and it was making her more nervous than she already was about the adoption.
Mellow knows that Fizzle's plan was to charm the socks off the orphanage staff with his kindness and skills of being a parent. He had spent weeks observing them, learning their likes and dislikes, and finding the perfect angle to win their trust. It was a risky move, but Fizzle is a trustworthy dragon and a knack for trying to make things work.
But would the staff allow an albino dragon to adopt a Pegasi hybrid? It was a question that had been plaguing Mellow's thoughts. Equestria was known for its diversity in this current time period she's in, but it doesn't mean that there is prejudices that lurked in the shadows. Her stomach rumbled, reminding her that she had skipped lunch in her haste to avoid the adoption talks.
Mellow reached into her magical pouch and pulled out a bowls 🥣 and a jug of steaming hot honey milk 🥛. She had pulled out a box of dinosaur oatmeal packets, remembering eating it in her past life and greatly enjoyed it, know she has the MLP Version of it, like any other item she pull out of her pouch to match the theme of the world she lives in and is very grateful for.
Pouring the oats into the bowls, she added the hot honey 🍯 milk and stirred, watching the oats transform into puff of tasty oats while the Sugar dinosaur eggs 🥚 started to melt and revealed a Sugary colorful Dinosaur 🦕. Know with a steaming porridge, She topped the bowl with a scoop of vanilla cinnamon ice cream 🍦, the sweet scent filling the air.
With a deep breath, she sat down to eat, the warmth of the food and the sweetness of the ice cream soothing her frazzled nerves. Snookie watched her with hungry eyes, but Mellow knew that Snookie wanted something else. So she pull out a sugar cookie 🍪 and gave it away gratefully.
As she savored the comforting meal, she took a spoonful of the sweet, creamy oatmeal and closed her eyes, letting the warmth spread through her body. It was time to face the unknown with the strength that only the love of a true friendship could provide.
[Fizzle POV]
Fizzle stirred from his slumber as the warm embrace of the sun's rays kissed his face. The significance of the day washed over him like the molten lava of his volcanic home—today, he would make Mellow's adoption dreams come true. With a determined yawn, he unfolded his large albino wings and took flight, feeling the heat from the sun's caress on his scales.
He knew the risks of the sun's touch on his sensitive skin, but his excitement overrode his concern. Diving into the warm, bubbling pool of lava 🌋, he bathed quickly, the fiery liquid a comforting reminder of his fiery resolve. As he emerged from the pool, his scales glistening with vitality, he grabbed his UV radiation sunscreen from the tall rock.
Covering his entire body with the protective balm, he slipped into his UV clothing, tailored to shield him from the harmful rays. It was a peculiar sight, an pink albino dragon dressed in clothing, but he didn't care. All that mattered was the safety of his delicate skin and the joy that awaited him in Ponyville.
As he took to the skies, he munched on a handful of glowing gems and diamonds 💎, a quick snack. They were the perfect energy boost, especially on a day like today. The jewels crunched satisfyingly between his teeth, their sweetness mixing with the thrill of anticipation.
Flying over the majestic lands of Equestria, he couldn't help but feel excited and nervousness. Even though Mellow is technically his boss, she's still a Young Hatchling ready to spread her wings into the world. He knew that she had been preparing for this moment, and he was ready to support her in any way possible.
The orphanage grew closer, its colorful walls standing out against the lush greenery of the surrounding countryside. Fizzle's heart raced as he descended, eager to not fail their plans in action and see the look on Mellow's face when their they have succeed to trick the staff, the day that Snookie and Mellow would leave the confines of the orphanage behind.
As he landed gracefully outside the gates, the scent of freshly baked cookies and the laughter of foals wafted through the air. He took a moment to compose himself, straightening his UV shirt and adjusting his glasses. Straighting his Spikes and act presentable with a gentle reminder of his mission—to convince the orphanage staff that he could be a suitable guardian for this spirited hybrid.
With a deep breath, he pushed open the doors 🚪 and stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of any of the staff to talk to.
Fizzle spotted Silver Lining at the far end of the hallway, his heart fluttered in his chest. This was it, the moment of truth. He approached her with a mix of confidence and trepidation, his stride purposeful yet cautious. "Excuse me, Miss Silver Lining," he called out, his voice echoing down the corridor.
The director looked up from her paperwork, her eyes widening slightly as she took in the albino dragon before her. His aura was a peculiar blend of warmth and fire, a stark contrast to the friendly professionalism she was used to in these earthly halls.
"Yes?," she said, her tone measured. "What brings you to our humble abode?"
Fizzle swallowed hard, his heart pounding like the drums of a battle march. "I've come to inquire about adopting Mellow," he said, his voice steady. "I believe she deserves a loving home, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be considered."
Silver Lining studied him for a moment, her gaze piercing. "Adoption is a serious commitment," she warned, her eyes never leaving his. "We require thorough background checks, health exams, and proof of financial stability including any Criminal Background Checks."
Fizzle nodded, unphased by the challenge. "I understand," he said, "and I'm willing to undergo any tests you deem necessary."
The director raised an eyebrow. "Very well," she said, gesturing to the office behind her. "Follow me."
Inside the office, Fizzle took a seat across from the director's desk, his wings tucked neatly beside him. The room was adorned with various knickknacks and photos 🖼, a testament to the lives that had been touched by the Ponyville Orphanage.
Silver Lining pulled out a clipboard 📋 and a quill 🪶. "We'll start with the basic questions," she began, her eyes never leaving his. "Name, age, occupation..."
Fizzle rattled off his answers, his voice calm and steady. He knew he had nothing to hide, and he was determined to prove himself worthy of being Mellow's guardian.
As they delved into more personal questions, he felt a twinge of nervousness. What if they found something he had forgotten, some tiny detail from his past that could disqualify him? But he pushed the thought aside, focusing on the mission and remembering the warmth of Mellow's smile and the joy she brought to his life.
The director looked up from the paperwork, her eyes meeting his. "And what makes you think you're capable of taking care of a young hybrid?" she asked, her voice gentle but firm.
Fizzle took a deep breath, his confidence growing. "Well, I've had experience," he began, "Back in the Dragon Lands, I often helped babysit the hatchlings. And Mellow, she's special. Her fire breath might cause a stir with some, but she's got a good heart." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "And I plan to travel a lot, Miss Silver Lining. I'm a Globetrotter, you see. I go where the stories take me, and I can't imagine a better traveling companion than Mellow. She loves exploring, and her spirit is as boundless as the skies she flies in."
The director nodded, making a note. "And how do you plan to handle her... unique needs?" she inquired, referring to Mellow's autism and her hoof Gripping problems.
"Ah," Fizzle said, smiling, "that's where my expertise comes in. You see, I've spent time with dragons with... challenges of their own. Some couldn't breathe hot enough fire 🔥, others had scales that weren't as tough. We're all different, Miss Silver Lining. And I've seen how a little understanding and patience can go a long way."
The director leaned back in her chair, her expression thoughtful. "And what about Snookie?" she asked, referring to Mellow's pet spider. "Some potential guardians might be... uncomfortable with such a creature in their home."
Fizzle's smile grew wider. "Snookie?" he said, his eyes lighting up. "She's a delight. Besides, I've got a bit of a... let's call it a 'soft spot' for spiders. They get a bad rap, you know. But Snookie's as gentle and loving as they come. I wouldn't think of separating them."
Silver Lining's gaze softened as she watched the dragon's enthusiasm. It was clear he had given this considerable thought. "Very well," she said, standing up. "We'll need to conduct a home visit, of course, and I'll need to speak with Mellow and Snookie before making a final decision. But you've certainly given us something to consider, Mr. Fizzle."
Fizzle's heart soared. "Thank you," he said, standing as well. "I'll do everything I can to prove that I'm the right dragon for the job."
The director nodded, extending a hoof. "We'll be in touch," she said, her grip firm and reassuring.
Leaving the office, Fizzle felt a mix of hope and anxiety. The interview had gone well, but there was still so much at stake. He knew that if he could convince Silver Lining, he could convince the rest of the staff. And more importantly, he could give Mellow a second home and the adventures she deserved.
[Silver Lining POV]
Silver Lining watched as Fizzle's tail swished with excitement as the dragon's unmistakable silhouette disappearing around the corner. She remained seated for a moment, her thoughts racing. His proposal was unexpected, but the sincerity in his voice and the warmth in his eyes were undeniable. The orphanage had seen its fair share of hopeful guardians, but none quite like Fizzle. She couldn't help but feel a tug at her heartstrings. It was rare for some creature, let alone an dragon, to show such genuine interest in adopting a foal with special needs. After a moment of contemplation she knew what she had to do.
Calling for a staff meeting, she gathered her team of dedicated ponies and creatures with diverse backgrounds around the large oak table. The room grew quiet as they awaited her words, sensing the gravity of the situation. "Gentlefillys and Gentlecolts," she began, her voice clear and firm, "we've had an interesting applicant for Mellow's guardianship. He's a Dragon." A murmur rippled through the group, eyes widening in surprise.
"He's offered to take Mellow under his wing," Silver Lining continued, "and from what he's told me, he seems quite capable of handling her unique situation." She paused, allowing the information to sink in. "But we must consider this carefully. We all know how special Mellow is, and we want to ensure she ends up with someone who truly understands her needs."
The room buzzed with opinions, each member sharing their observations and interactions with Fizzle. Some spoke of his patience and kindness, while others expressed concern for Mellow's safety in the care of a creature so different from her own kind. They discussed the legalities and the practicalities, the potential for growth and the challenges that lay ahead.
The head of social services, a wise old earth pony named Apple Strudel, spoke up. "I've seen many a creature come through these doors, and Fizzle's dedication to Mellow stands out. His background with helping hatchlings in his own lands could serve him well in this role."
Nurse Redheart who somehow involved herself in this meeting nodded in agreement. "He's been nothing but supportive and understanding of Mellow's condition. And let's not forget, she's not just any foal. She's a young hybrid with her own set of challenges."
The room grew thoughtful, each member of the staff weighing the pros and cons. On whatever knowledge they have about dragon and Fizzle's capabilitie, the way Fizzle's eyes lit up when he talked about their future adventures together.
Finally, the unicorn social worker, a stallion named Dark Moon who is well known for his records for most weddings crashed in all of Equestria, he spoke up. "I believe we owe it to Mellow to give Fizzle a chance. She's been through so much already, and if he's willing to learn and grow with her, who are we to stand in the way of that?"
The group nodded in agreement, the air filling with a sense of unity and purpose. They would give Fizzle the opportunity to prove himself, to show that love and understanding knew no bounds—not even those of different species.
"But," interjected a young donkey named Braylon, his voice filled with curiosity, "Fizzle's files say he's only fifteen. Isn't he too young to be a parent?" His question hung in the air, a gentle reminder that despite the dragon's maturity, he was still just a teenager.
Silver Lining leaned forward, her eyes meeting each member of the staff. "It's true," she said, "Fizzle is indeed fifteen. But in the eyes of Equestrian law ⚖️, you must be fifteen years apart from the foal you wish to adopt, and Mellow is nine. So, technically, he's of age."
The room grew quiet as they digested this information. It was indeed unusual for someone so young to take on the role of a parental figure. "Besides," she added, "his age doesn't define his capabilities and compassion he's shown towards Mellow.
With the decision made, the group dispersed, returning to their duties. As the office room emptied, Silver Lining couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and excitement. She knew that finding the right home was crucial for any foal, but especially one as unique and wonderful as Mellow, she deserves it after that horrible Carriage accident she read on the newspaper. 📰
The director made her way down the hall, her hooves clicking softly against the floor, The sound of laughter and chatter grew louder as she approached the foal's room, and she couldn't help but smile. It was a sound that she had grown to love—the sound of innocence and joy, the heartbeat of the orphanage.
As she reached the door 🚪, she paused, listening to the faint melody of DJ Pon3's latest hit, a reminder of the world outside their safe haven. She knocked gently, waiting for Mellow's response. The music abruptly stopped, and she heard the rustling of sheets and the shuffling of hooves. "You can come in," a small voice called out.
Silver Lining pushed the door open, revealing a small but cozy space. Mellow sat up in bed, her eyes wide with curiosity. Snookie was perched on the pillow beside her, looking equally intrigued. "How are you feeling today?" the director asked, her eyes taking in the young hybrid's condition.
Mellow's smile was infectious, lighting up the room. "Good," she said, her voice filled with excitement. "Did something happened?" Tilting her head curiously.
The director nodded, her expression serious. "I wanted to talk to you about it," she said, taking a seat beside the bed. "You know we're looking for the best home for you, don't you?"
Mellow's eyes searched hers, understanding the gravity of the conversation. "Yeah... what about it?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Silver Lining's smile grew. "Fizzle is quite the character," she admitted. "He's applied to be your guardian. But we have to make sure he's ready for the responsibility. We'll be doing a home visit, and we'll need to talk to you and Snookie to make sure you're comfortable with him."
Mellow's face lit up. "I'd love that!" she exclaimed, her wings fluttering with excitement.
The director leaned in, her voice gentle. "Remember, sweetheart, this is your life we're talking about. If you ever feel unsafe or scared, you come to me, okay?"
Mellow nodded solemnly, her eyes never leaving Silver Lining's. "I will," she promised.
The room was filled with the warmth of their conversation, the tension of the impending decision temporarily lifted by the innocence of a child's excitement. Silver Lining knew that the journey ahead would be challenging, but she also knew that with the love and support of those around her, Mellow would soar.
[Mellow's POV]
As the director's hoofsteps grew fainter down the corridor, Mellow couldn't contain her excitement any longer. She looked over at Snookie, and the spider met her gaze, her eyes gleaming with mischief. With a squeal of delight, they both burst into a fit of giggles. The plan had worked! Sneaking out of the orphanage, and searching for the perfect candidate to play the part of her guardian, had paid off. Fizzle, the dragon she had secretly hired to act as her adoptive parent, had passed the first test with flying colors.
Snookie danced around on the bed, her eight legs moving in a blur as she chittered with glee. Mellow knew she couldn't have done it without her trusty companion. Snookie had been her emotional support, her co-conspirator, and her moral support through the entire scheme. They had practiced their story countless times, rehearsing every detail to ensure it was believable.
Now, as the reality of the situation began to set in, Mellow felt a mix of emotions. She was excited at the prospect of living with a Dragon as their second permanent home, a real freaking cave!, but she was also a bit nervous. What if they found out she had staged the whole thing? What if they somehow find out their secret?
But as she watched Snookie's joyful antics, she pushed those fears aside. Fizzle was more than just an act; he was her friend. He had promised to be her bodyguard and friends, and she trusted him. Plus, he was a dragon—surely, he could handle anything Equestria threw their way.
Also the part the we generally like each other, so it's even more believable that they will have a healthy family relationship, it's gonna be a little confusing since she knows what's it's like having parental instincts since she had 2 Nephews in her past life, and it made her realize that she doesn't want to have Kids since they look up to her as a Role Model and Loved her unconditional. And that Terrified Mellow greatly, worried she's gonna mess up and disappoint them also the part that it's hard to say No.
Mellow leaned back against her pillows, feeling the weight of the world lift from her shoulders.
Even though she had no problems sleeping outside in the street, Mellow guess it would be safer to have a Permanent Home without restrictions trying to stop her. She had a plan, a good one, and she was going to stick to it.
[Fizzle POV]
Fizzle sat in the waiting room, his tail tapping an anxious rhythm against the floor. The walls were adorned with colorful paintings of ponies and their various animal companions, a stark contrast to the nervous energy he was feeling. The air was thick with the scent of freshly cut grass, and the distant sounds of the staffs hustle and bustle echoed in his ears. He had never felt more out of place in his life, his scales seemingly out of tune with the soft fabrics and gentle whispers that filled the orphanage.
The door to the director's office clicked open, and Silver Lining stepped out, her expression unreadable. Fizzle's heart felt like it was racing in his chest, and he had to fight the urge to jump to his feet. "Fizzle," she called, her voice calm and even. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves as he approached her.
"How did it go?" he asked, his voice hopeful. "Did she... Did she say yes?"
The director nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Mellow seems quite taken with you," she said, "and she's agreed to the home visit. But we'll need to talk to her more about your living arrangements."
Fizzle's heart soared. "Thank you," he said, his voice shaking with gratitude. "I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she's happy and safe."
Silver Lining's smile grew. "I can see that," she said. "Now, let's get down to the details. Your home will be inspected to ensure it's suitable for a growing hybrid, and we'll need to arrange a meeting with the social worker to go over your responsibilities."
Fizzle nodded eagerly. "I have two homes," he said, his chest puffing out with pride. "One in the Crystal Empire, but I plan to live in my cave. It's between Dragon Land and Ponyville, so she'll be able to visit both places whenever she likes."
The director raised an eyebrow. "A cave?" she questioned, trying to keep her tone neutral. She had read about dragons living in caves, but it was hard to imagine such a creature in such a primitive setting.
"Yes," Fizzle assured her, "It's spacious and comfortable. And I've made it cozy, with all the modern conveniences of the dragon would, plus a few extra touches for a foal's comfort." He paused, his eyes glowing with excitement. "I've even painted the walls with luminescent scales, so it's never too dark. And there's a pond outside where she can feed or play with the fishes"
The director nodded thoughtfully, making a note of the living arrangements. "Alright," she said. "We'll arrange for an inspector to visit your cave. They'll need to make a list of any changes that need to be made to ensure it's a suitable environment for a young one."
The dragon's excitement was palpable as he bobbed his head up and down. "I understand," he said. "Whatever it takes. I just want to make sure Mellow and Snookie is happy and has a good life."
The inspection date was set, and Fizzle couldn't wait to show off his cave to the orphanage staff. He knew that the transition would be strange for Mellow, but he was determined to make it as smooth as possible. In the meantime, he set to work making the cave more "foal-friendly," adding softer surfaces, childproofing any dangerous areas, and even installing a magical tempura system to keep the space warm or cold.
When the day of the inspection arrived, Fizzle was a bundle of nerves. He had cleaned and organized until everything gleamed, and he had even picked a bouquet of flowers from the nearby meadow to place on the makeshift table in the main room. He hoped it would show that he was serious about creating a home for Mellow.
The social worker, a stern-looking unicorn named Starchild, arrived with a clipboard in tow. She looked around the cave, her eyes scrutinizing every detail. She tapped her chin with the end of her pen as she took in the living space.
"This will need a few adjustments," she said, her voice brisk and professional. "But it has potential." She began listing off the changes needed, and Fizzle nodded, scribbling notes on a scrap of parchment. "A Fake Lava Bath, some child-proofing around the fire pit, and maybe some more glow in the dark light sources so she won't accidentally trip at night when she needs to get something and section of the floor be covered in very soft carpet."
Fizzle nodded eagerly, taking in her suggestions. "I can do all of that," he said. "I'll make sure it's perfect for her."
Starchild looked him in the eye, her expression softening. "I can see that you care deeply for Mellow," she said. "But remember, it's not just about the physical home. It's about providing her with the love and support she needs to thrive."
Fizzle's heart swelled with determination. "I promise," he said, "I'll do everything I can to be the best guardian she could ever hope for."
The inspection concluded with a list of minor changes to be made, and Fizzle set to work immediately. With their help, they transformed the cave into a cozy, safe haven but made sure to kept the dragon's lair theme so Mellow and her new Dad can be proud of their family history. They painted walls with calming colors, hung curtains made of soft fabrics, and even set up a small office room for Mellow to study or work in.
As the final touches were applied, Starchild informed Fizzle that they had left some of the spaces intentionally bare. "We wanted to give you both a chance to bond over decorating the rest of the home," she explained. "It's important for a foal to feel like they have a say in their living environment."
Fizzle's eyes lit up at the idea. He had never considered such a thing, but he knew that Mellow would love the chance to make the cave truly feel like her own. The social worker's approval washed over him, and he felt a surge of pride. This was it. His friend slash Boss is gonna live with him, and he will get a chance to protect and care for someone who needed it.
Once the inspection was over and Starchild had left, Fizzle couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. He had done it. His cave was now a home for Mellow and Snookie. But now, the real work began. He needed to prepare for her arrival, to make sure she felt welcomed and loved. With a yawn, he realized it had been a long day. He retreated to his bed, the anticipation of their new life together keeping sleep at bay for a while longer.
