In The Heart Of A Princess
In the heart of Equestria, where magic softly glows,
Lived Twilight Sparkle, with a wisdom that she knows.
Once a student of friendship, in a castle made of dreams,
Now a ruler of the realm, or so it truly seemed.
With each passing season, as leaves turned to gold,
The weight of her fate, felt heavier, and cold.
Immortal and wise, yet alone in the night,
Twilight sought solace in the stars' gentle light.
With wings of radiant violet, and a crown of shimmering gold,
She wore the weight of centuries, with a heart both brave and bold.
Yet in her chamber quiet, where starlight would gleam through,
Shadows danced around her in heart, this woeful sorrow she felt, grew.
For time has taken her friends away, leaving the mare on her own.
The sands of time were cruel and harsh
A reality she had hoped, and wished to be deemed untrue.
Her friends were the sunlight, that filled her with delight.
But time, the silent thief, stole them away, forever out of her sight.
Fluttershy’s soft laughter echoed in the breeze,
Rarity’s fashion dreams now floating among the trees.
Applejack’s warm embrace, deep in the depths of her heart,
Pinkie Pie’s joyful giggles, now a world apart.
The Rainbooms of Rainbow Dash, had fallen to black.
"If only there was a way to turn time back".
Now Twilight sits lonely in this castle of dreams,
With echoes of laughter lost in the moonbeams.
Years drift on, petals in the flowing river of time
Each past moment a treasure, a bittersweet rhyme.
The magic of friendship once flowed through her veins,
Now solitude whispers through joy’s gentle chains.
She feels like a star, that lost all of its spark.
A ruler of shadows, alone in the dark.
The weight of ages clear on her brow.
A golden crown that felt so cold,
Her heart, once brave, now furrowed low.
Yearning for the days of old.
Each dawn she’d wake to greet the rising sun,
In dusk the moonlight glows at her command.
Left with this land, now hers to defend.
But in her heart, a longing for those she could not mend.
For in the mortality of life, they wove their threads so bright.
Yet now their colors faded, lost in the endless night
She picked up a quill, writing to a pony who shared in her pain
hoping that Celestia could stop this heartache of rain.
“Dear Celestia,” she wrote with trembling quill,
“Every lesson learned, I hold, yet still, I feel the chill.
What is a crown without true friends, who walk beside me still?
In this eternal garden, where’s the joy in wielding will?”
She finished her letter, but did not opt to send
For the Alicorn sought to find another way to mend.
“Oh, how I miss the moments shared, the adventures we all planned,
The way we fought together, how we understood each strand.
Though time may take its toll on me, I yearn to see them smile,
To walk again in harmony, even if just for a while.”
The burdens of wisdom weighed heavily on her,
Each choice she must make, a heart’s silent blur.
In the quiet of midnight, she gazed up at the sky,
Searching for solace, for reasons to fly.
"How do I lead when my heart feels so torn?
What use is my magic if love is all worn?
I cherish my kingdom, but long for my friends,
A tapestry frayed, only memory remains,
but it’s still not enough to ease this pain."
But magic, fickle, bends and sways,
And all her learned lore,
Cannot bridge the endless days
To bring them back once more.
She wanders through memories, both joyful and grim,
A flash of their laughter, a tear on her whim.
In the gardens they planted, she sat all alone,
Where once vibrant petals now withered to stone.
In dreams, they dance through fields of green,
With smiles that chase the gloom,
But when she wakes, the joy is seen
As a fleeting, fragile bloom.
Through Canterlot, her hooves do tread,
Past bustling streets of cheer,
Yet in each laugh, a thread of dread,
A whisper “They’re not here..”
“Oh, Celestia,” she spoke, her volume down low,
“Is this the price I pay?
For every joy that I may know,
Must I watch my friends decay?”
This crown on her head,
A symbol of light.
Yet in her heart,
laid a lingering night
Each mistake corrected, each triumph shared,
In the glow of friendship’s spark,
But now their voices, sweetly bared,
Echoed dimly in the dark.
She gazed up at the stars above.
Each twinkle, a reminder.
Of laughter shared, of boundless love,
Now lost, the heart grew more blind.
But in that void, there’s a spark that ignites,
A flicker of light, glowing faint yet true,
Her friends would want her to take flight,
To rise and bloom anew.
With every tear, a lesson learned,
With every sigh, a sigh in grief,
A deeper love is earned.
A chance to touch the sky.
So Twilight lifts her gaze once more,
Determined not to fall,
For though her heart may ache and sore,
Her friends are here with her, after all.
In every sunset, every dawn,
In every whispered breeze,
They linger still, though they are gone,
In every memory, that frees.
“Together, we are never apart,
In every star, I see your faces,
Your laughter echoes in my heart,
Your love, my sacred space.”
So as she spreads her wings of light,
Embracing what must be,
Twilight Sparkle, in the night,
Finds strength in memory.
For being an Alicorn,
Is not just joy or pain,
It’s carrying the love that burns deep within,
Through loss, she’ll rise again.
“I’ll honor them in every spell, in every shining dream.
For friendship's magic is not bound by time or mortal breath.
It lives within my heart and soul, transcending even death.”
With every heartbeat, every breath,
She honored those once near,
And in her reign, beyond all end,
Their legacy shines clear.
And so, with newfound purpose, she spreads her wings so wide,
Embracing every memory, the laughter, and the pride.
She called upon the magic that coursed through Equestria,
With every spark of friendship, she lit the darkest hour.
The realms began to flourish, with kindness as the key,
And in her heart, she felt them there, forever wild and free.
For Twilight Sparkle learned at last, beneath the moon’s soft light,
That though her friends had passed on, their love remained in sight.
"Though time may divide us, their spirits still soar,
In the bonds that we forged, they are here evermore."
So in her eternal garden, where flowers bloom and sway,
She rules not just in solitude, but with her friends bouquet.
In the kingdom of Equestria, their threads would intertwine,
And Twilight Sparkle knew at last, their spirits brightly shine.
With every challenge faced alone, she felt their love surround.
As stars begin to twinkle in tomorrow’s velvet night,
She knows that their spirits will guide her to the light.
Though loss may be heavy, it also brings grace,
For friendship’s pure magic can never be erased.
In the quiet of twilight, she whispers their names,
A promise to cherish their love through the flames.
And as long as she’s living, their legacy stays,
In the heart of a princess, where friendship always remains.

This was my first attempt at a poem, I'm more used to writing stories, so this was taking a few steps out of my comfort zone.
That being said, feedback is definitely appreciated,
Regardless of how I did,
I just hope that this little poem was able to tug on your heart strings even a little bit, because even writing all this definitely did that to me. A way to show just how much Twilight cherishes her friends even well beyond their time.
While this was my first try at poetry, this was still very fun to write.
