The Wonderbolts have been called upon to represent Equestria – and this time, it’s not for show. Led by Spitfire, they go deep into the Crag Mountains to compete against three other nations. The cause? To prevent one of these competitors, the traitorous, long-banished Exmori, from regaining access to Equestria.

Rainbow Dash is part of the special team picked, and with two of her Ponyville friends coming along, she expects this to be a routine flauntation of awesomeness. Loyalty? Love of flying? She could fly all five heats on an abundance of those alone.

But then the attacks begin. Training “accidents.” Flyers gone down. The Wonderbolts aren’t the only ones targeted, but increasingly, there’s no denying the truth. There’s an enemy out for the heart of the Wonderbolts – and, ultimately, out for the very heart of Equestria.
