Chapter 14: A Chance for the Dance

So, the six girls and one dog made it back to the school’s gym. It looked as if a wild party had already happened.

“Boy howdy,” Ashleigh said, looking over the damage. “Susan, Skip, n’ Sheldon really did a number on this place.”

“All of my hard work!” Pinkie wailed. “If only I had some sort of party cannon that could decorate everything super-duper fast!” Twilight decided to leave out the fact that Pinkie’s Equestria counterpart has such a cannon.

“I know it seems like a lot of hard work,” Twilight said. “But, if we all worked together, the work would get done faster.”

“That’s the kind o’ can-do attitude ah’m lookin’ fer from a Fall Formal Princess,” Ashleigh smiled. She then extended her right hand out. “Let’s do it, y’all!”

“Absolutely!” Rachael said, putting her right hand on top of Ashleigh’s.

“Rock on!” Roxy said, putting her own right hand on top of Rachael’s.

“Yes, indeedily!” Pinkie said, putting her right hand on top of Roxy’s.

“Yay~” Fauna softly cheered, putting her left hand on top of Pinkie’s.

Twilight then put her own right hand on top of Fauna’s. They then lifted their hands in a celebratory manner. Ashleigh then got out cleaning supplies from the janitor closet close by. Some of the girls grabbed mops, some grabbed brooms. It took a lot of hard work from the six girls, but, soon, the gym was clean. Even Spike helped out however he could. He quickly found it awkward to use a broom as a dog, but, Fauna and Rachael helped him out. As they started to decorate, other students took notice and decided to pitch in. With everyone’s hard work, the gym looked beautiful and new friendships were formed with students meeting outside of their cliques.

In detention, Susan was scolding Skip and Sheldon.

“You’re goddamn lucky they were able to pull this off!” Susan snapped in stage-whisper. “I need this night to go on tonight just as much as she does.”

“You’re the one who had the idea in the first place,” Skip pointed out.

“Do you want me to beat you again?!” Susan snapped, threatening to hit Skip. The short boy cowered. “That’s what I thought.”

None of them knew that they were being observed by a freshman boy with pale red skin, brown hair, a mustard yellow sweater over an orange collared shirt with a yellow necktie, purple pants, and blue shoes. His sweater had a patch with a puppy dog on it. This was Skip and Sheldon’s brother, Tyler.* He carefully listened to what Susan was saying and recorded it with his phone.

“Now,” he said. “I have to get this to Sunset.”

Then, Principal Celeste and Vice Principal Luna saw the efforts of the students and the gym’s decorations.

“Well done, everyone,” Principal Celeste smiled. “The gym looks amazing.”

“Thanks to all of your hard work,” Vice Principal Luna added. “The Fall Formal is back on for tonight!”

“Yes,” Principal Celeste said. “So, you all had better get out of here so you can get ready.”

While Twilight and her human friends went to Rachael’s place to get ready for the Fall Formal, Sunset (dressed in a teal blue blouse with a black pleather jacket with orange decals, blue jeans, and gray, black, and orange high heeled boots) was at her and Susan’s shared place and looking through various files, which she found had been written over. From the look of horror on her face, it was obvious they weren’t her additions. Phoebe, who followed her back, looked similarly distressed. At that point, she heard a knock at the door. It was a secret knock shared between her and Tyler. She let Tyler in.

“Any news?” Sunset asked.

Tyler played the audio recording of Susan’s plan.

“That crown will give me power and influence beyond this school,” the recording said. “And I’m not going to let that princess wannabe f*ck it up for me now!”

“Oh, no…” Sunset gasped. “What have I done?! Had I known Susan was going to do this, I would have never told her about my home.”

“I’m guessing this is a bad situation?” Tyler guessed.

“It’s very bad, Tyler,” Sunset confirmed. “Susan’s trying to mess with something she doesn’t completely understand and that’s never a good idea. What’s worse, I gave her the information to act on it!”

“That is a problem,” Tyler said. “But, much like how Twilight and her friends have started the efforts of cleaning the gym for the dance, there are ways to make this situation right, aren’t there?”

“Help me pack up my research,” Sunset said with determination. “I’ve been on the sidelines long enough.”

“You got it,” Tyler nodded.
