It had been two weeks since the changeling invasion happened. Recovery for everypony hadn't been very easy. Many ponies had lost loved ones, and many have been traumatized including fillies and colts. Some believe it to have been Princess Sunrise's fault for not warning them sooner.

DemiTwi and her friends have been helping the village to recover until it is back to how it originally was. DemiJack and DemiRarity are helping ponies calm down and feel safe around the village again. DemiShy and DemiDash are helping with reconstruction while DemiPie bakes goods to help out ponies in her way.

Now in the present time, DemiTwi takes it upon herself to try and figure her way around the village. DemiSpike had decided to try and see the village for himself as well.

"So, the boutique is here... the Sweet Apple Acres is over there... can this place even be called a village anymore? It's too big to be considered one in my opinion." DemiTwi says trotting around the village with DemiSpike.

"Yeah... I guess so." DemiSpike says a bit... scared?

At first, DemiTwi doesn't notice because her main focus is navigating the village to gain a better understanding of her surroundings.

"Alright... over there is where the shops are. Over here are mainly the homes of many ponies. Over there is the train station! Gotta note this down! Never know when we might need to go back to Canterlot." DemiTwi says grabbing a notebook and starting to write in it.

DemiSpike nods. He takes a look around and notices ponies starting to stare at him. He starts to feel a bit of anxiety build up. He takes a few calm breaths before he notices that DemiTwi is no longer with him.

"DemiTwi?" DemiSpike tries to call out for her.

He looks around again seeing more ponies stare at him. DemiSpike now starts to panic and looks around more for DemiTwi. He doesn't see her.

"D-DemiTwi! DemiTwi!!" DemiSpike calls out now panicking even more.

"He has fur!"

"What a weirdo!"

"Weirdo! Weirdo!"

What was once just a few ponies turned into a whole lot of them. They all came out of nowhere. DemiTwi was still nowhere to be seen. She wouldn't have just left DemiSpike there, would she?

"DemiSpike. DemiSpike. DEMISPIKE!!"

DemiSpike immediately snaps back to reality. He looks up to see DemiTwi looking concerned for him.

"Are you okay?" DemiTwi asks.

DemiSpike tries to answer but is too overwhelmed by what he has just seen. He didn't wanna tell her either due to the fact she had been wanting to navigate the village. He looks behind her seeing ponies still stare at him. Though not in the very judgmental way he had seen in his view.

DemiTwi notices this and turns around. She sees the ponies as well. She immediately knows what's going on now. It wasn't the first time this had happened. It's happened in Canterlot many times.

"DemiSpike..."

"I know, DemiTwi. ...I know. It doesn't get easier. I thought Ponyville would be better. ...perhaps though... it isn't Ponyville. ...it's just me." DemiSpike says.

DemiTwi's heart aches hearing him blame himself for this.

"DemiSpike... it's okay. You have nothing to worry about here. The ponies are nice here. I'm sure they aren't making fun of your fur. It's probably just curiosity." DemiTwi says reassuring DemiSpike.

DemiSpike looks down at the ground and nods. He starts to follow DemiTwi again after she starts to trot again. DemiSpike tries to ignore the ponies staring at him.

"Aha! This is the way into the Everfree forest! DemiShy told me she lived near here meaning the path to her home should be that one right there! Now we need to figure out the way to Sugarcube Corner!" DemiTwi says happily trotting back.

DemiSpike follows along until two colts stop him. He looks at the two colts a bit nervous.

"H-hi! My name-"

"Weird stupid furry dragon?" One of the colts says laughing harshly.

DemiSpike's eyes widen upon hearing this. His worst nightmare had come true once again. DemiSpike tries to step aside and walk away. One of the colts pushes him back preventing him from doing so though.

"Not so fast stupid furball!" The other colt says laughing. The other one joining in.

DemiSpike eyes tear up more and more with each insult. His fur is one of his most sensitive spots to make fun of. It doesn't help that his fur is also one of his biggest insecurities.

"He's gonna cry! He's gonna cry!" one of the colts says making fun of him even more.

The other colt decides to take it a bit too far and starts tugging on DemiSpike's tail.

DemiSpike yelps in pain and tries to take his tail away. The other colt starts laughing at this and continues insulting DemiSpike.

The two colts continue to make fun of him until both colts are grabbed in magic. The two look at each other confused until their eyes meet a heavily pissed-off DemiTwi. They try to play it off as cool once spotting DemiTwi.

"What do you two think you're doing?" DemiTwi says in an angry tone.

"Psssh! We're just uh.."

"We're playing with him!" one colt finishes.

"Not from what I heard. Do you two think I'm a DUMBASS?!" DemiTwi says barely containing her anger anymore.

DemiTwi sets both of the colts on the ground and stares at them now on the verge of letting her anger out.

"I'm gonna count to three and I better not catch you two anywhere in my sight," DemiTwi says.

The two colts now are a bit terrified of DemiTwi. They take DemiTwi's warning and quickly run off not wanting to see what would have happened if they were to have stayed.

DemiTwi takes a deep breath and turns around to see DemiSpike on the ground curled up in a ball pretty upset. DemiTwi trots over to him and stands beside him.

"I wish I never had my fur... everypony is always making fun of me... I-I'm such a weirdo..." DemiSpike says upset.

DemiTwi shakes her head disapprovingly.

"No, you aren't DemiSpike. Believe it or not... I'd love you no matter what. Fur or not. The fur honestly makes you a very special dragon. You shouldn't care about what others have to say. Wanna know why? Because you'll always be awesome in your own way." DemiTwi says.

DemiSpike looks up at her and smiles a bit.

"Fur or not DemiSpike, you're still a dragon." DemiTwi finishes. "Besides! Your fur makes you awesome for hugging!"

DemiTwi hugs him tightly while smiling.

"Thank you, DemiTwi... you're the best mom I've ever had," DemiSpike says.

"Mom? That's new! Hehehe. Love ya too, ya little adorable furball!!" DemiTwi says ruffling his head before hugging him again.

Why should you care if he has fur or not? It's a dragon! Who cares!!
