A New Kind of Friendship

It was a bright and sunny day in Equestria. The School of Friendship, nestled in the heart of Ponyville, was bursting with excitement. Twilight Sparkle, now the ruler of Equestria, had arranged a special event that students had been talking about for weeks. Today, a renowned professor from across the world was coming to give a lecture on something none of them had ever learnt before: Pokémon.

The Young Six—Gallus, Smolder, Sandbar, Yona, Ocellus, and Silverstream—gathered with their fellow students in the main hall, whispering to each other about what the lecture might be about. Gallus, always the skeptic, was more interested in the professor’s reputation than the subject matter.

“Are we sure this is going to be interesting?” Gallus asked, lounging lazily in his seat. “I mean, what’s so special about ‘Pokémon,’ anyway?”

“How can you say that?” Silverstream squeaked, bouncing in her seat. “It’s a whole new world for us, with creatures we’ve never seen before! This is going to be AMAZING!”

Smolder shrugged, leaning back with her arms crossed. “If these ‘Pokémon’ can breathe fire, then yeah, maybe I’ll pay attention.”

Just as their chatter was heating up, the doors to the main hall opened. Princess Twilight Sparkle entered, followed by a tall figure wearing a white lab coat. It was Professor Oak, one of the most celebrated Pokémon Professors from a different part of the world of humans and Pokémon alike, where ponies haven’t been before.

Twilight cleared her throat, catching the attention of the excited students. “Good morning, everycreature! Today, we have a very special guest from a different part of the world—Professor Samuel Oak, who has come to teach us all about the fascinating creatures known as Pokémon!”

The hall erupted in applause as Professor Oak stepped forward, smiling warmly. “Thank you, Princess Twilight,” he began, adjusting his reading glasses. “I’m honored to be here in your little town of Ponyville, and I can’t wait to introduce you to the world of Pokémon. You may have seen Pokémon here or there in Equestria, but they reside more in different regions of the world. Pokémon are creatures of all shapes and sizes, and they live in harmony with humans. Some are powerful, others are gentle, and many of them can form deep bonds of friendship with us—just as you ponies do here.”

He gestured to a screen behind him, and a series of images appeared, showing various Pokémon in different habitats. From Pikachu to Charizard, and even some of the legendary Pokémon like Zapdos and Moltres, the students were in awe.

Silverstream gasped in delight. “Look at that one! It’s like a giant bird!”

Gallus, though trying to remain unimpressed, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. “Okay, that one’s kind of cool,” He said, looking at the Zapdos

After an informative and lively lecture on Pokémon types, battles, and their abilities, Professor Oak concluded by introducing the concept of Pokémon Trainers—people who form bonds with Pokémon and train them for friendly competition.

Just then, the bell rang out and the class was dismissed, waving goodbye to the professor as they walked out the classroom. Twilight looked at professor Oak, smiling to him “Thank you so much for coming all the way here Professor Oak, I hope it wasn’t any trouble getting here.”

“Not at all Princess Twilight, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with everyone who is eager to learn, and please, call me Oak.”

Twilight nodded and smiled warmly to Professor Oak. “Very well Oak. I know I’ve learnt a lot from your presentation, and I’m sure my students did too.”

Professor Oak nodded, looking at Twilight.“Although, I haven’t seen any other creatures who want to be Pokémon trainers… I wonder why?”

Twilight looked at Professor Oak. “Well, we are still getting used to the humans who are living among us, and since we haven’t seen Pokémon around here, many ponies might be nervous to explore unknown places, or are scared of how dangerous it could be. I, on the other hand, would love to go and explore these new regions, exploring new Pokémon, study them all day long… but as princess of friendship and the principal of this school, I’m afraid I cannot do all that. My place is here in Ponyville, with my students, and my subjects.”

Professor Oak nodded, understanding her importance here. Professor Oak looked out of the doorway, observing the young six. “Hmm, those six there, they seem like an interesting bunch.”

Twilight looked out the door way, noticing the young six talking and laughing together. “Oh, you mean Gallus, Ocellus, Sandbar, Smolder, Silverstream and Yona? They are quite the group, no matter what happens to them, they are always up to the challenge, they’re like me and my friends during the time. Why do you ask?”

“Just curious is all. Although… I see something in them, potential to grow more stronger together. Tell me Twilight, do you think they would be interested in coming with me back to Kanto?”

Twilight gazed at him, her curiosity piqued by his offer. “You really want to take them to the Kanto region with you?”

“Of course! This could be a great opportunity for them to experience what a Pokémon trainer can be. They can study as many Pokémon as possible and document their progress. Also, maybe more creatures will be motivated to become Pokémon trainers as well. However, it’s you're decision to make.”

Twilight pondered on the thought for a few moments, making her decision. “Very well, I give permission for you to take the six of them back to Kanto with you.”

“Excellent! Just the be on the same page, let’s tell them about this opportunity.”

Twilight nodded, as they began to make their way to the young six.

As the young six were talking among themselves about the lecture, Sandbar turned around, seeing Princess Twilight and the professor. “Oh, hello headmare Twilight, professor Oak, is there something you need?”

Twilight nodded, smiling at the group. “Why yes Professor Oak and I have been talking and Professor Oak has invited the six of you to visit the Kanto region! You’ll get to explore the world of Pokémon, learn more about their culture, and even meet some trainers.”

Silverstream was the first to explode with excitement. “YES! We get to see Pokémon for real! This is going to be the best adventure ever!”

Yona stomped her hooves. “Yona wants to meet strong Pokémon! Yona excited!”

Ocellus looked a little nervous but smiled. “It sounds fascinating… I’d love to study how Pokémon and humans coexist.”

Smolder simply crossed her arms and smirked. “If I can fight one of those, count me in.”

Gallus pretended to be disinterested, but his eyes betrayed his curiosity. “Yeah, sure, why not? Could be cool.”

Sandbar, always the calm one, gave a nod. “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to explore the Kanto region. I’m in.”

Twilight smiled at them all. “You’ll leave tomorrow. Be sure to pack everything you need, and don’t forget—this is a learning experience, so keep your minds and hearts open. When you return from Kanto, I’ll want to see what you learned and experienced.”

The young six nodded, and Twilight dismissed the group. As the Young Six dispersed to prepare for their trip, Gallus turned to Sandbar. “Do you think we’ll get our own Pokémon?”

Sandbar shrugged. “I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”

And with that, the Young Six’s adventure in the world of Pokémon was about to begin.
