//-------------------------------------------------------// Taking care of the beloved end of the world! -by me1on- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue. The young man stared with endless discord at his hands, if he could still call them hands, holding a large egg, hot and with a pulse. Alive. Alive like anyone else, it was almost terrifying how alive it felt. The man's arms, no, his paws desperately clung to this little life without clearly understanding why. Just a few hours ago his body was that of a human, a simple human with no ambitions who wandered around the Internet as always, bored and insipid, there was no other way to describe it. Perhaps due to his infinite boredom or a stupid innocent thought about the lack of seriousness of his actions, the man fixed his glasses and saw an eyelash on the blue screen that reflected his face. A small advertisement that should have been ignored. "Please take care of the baby! As a new player you will get the best of our gifts! Play now!" He immediately looked for the close ad button but the description of this game stopped him. "Our little baby has been despised for many years, lonely and unloved, it has not been able to hatch, take care of the baby and get rewards, watch your little monster grow up and save the world." The ad had giant letters, almost pleading, the red "Play Now" button was even comical, desperately trying to get people into this "game", it honestly made him curious, there was a small drawing of a black egg with a sad aura, without understanding the reason behind it... He clicked on the ad, unconsciously his finger clicked the download button. His smartest choice? No, was he smart to begin with? Nope. The little egg rejoiced, jumping up and down on just a few pixels of the screen clumsily, opening the game and finding itself with the most boring home screen of all. A small egg lying in the middle of the forest, the story had not loaded yet but his character advanced until he was in front of the egg. "Please insert your name." The young man leaned on the screen and the reflection of his glasses turned completely blue, typing his name without worrying, as long as they didn't ask for his banking information he should be fine, right? I could see the egg peeking out of the gaps in the writing spaces, as if worried it was still there, "You're a rambunctious little boy, look at you running around." Drawn to this silly game, the man spoke to his screen. "Please give our baby a name." When he read that sentence the man took some time to think. He's my son, right? You should think of a good name. After letting the minutes pass, his fingers finally touched the keyboard again and he wrote. "Rook should be fine for you... They are a very common bird around here, very intelligent and sociable." The man smiled to himself, looking at the screen without understanding if he was really crazy enough lately to be talking to his computer or if it was the early morning that was affecting him. With his eyes closing from exhaustion, he wrote his baby's name. A large text appeared on his screen, apparently the game's story didn't bother to be explained through dialogue, it was just smashed in your face like that, after that, it literally couldn't let you leave the game until you press something. "So that's why no one plays this..." Talking in his sleep, he closed his eyes without reading the text carefully, only managing to briefly see the end and two buttons, one red and one green. "(...) May your presence bring light to this world and its destruction." "Start game" "Cancel." What a strange game. He thought before slamming his forehead onto the keyboard, falling asleep before dawn illuminated his room. The green button lit up, showing a loading icon. Beside him, the egg wiggled happily, seeming as if two eyes were opening and shining within it. ... Elsewhere, the world of Canterlot. "Princess Celestia!" The purple mare galloped toward her, holding her breath with each stomp. The alicorn opened her wings and prevented him from advancing any further, this revelation hovering over the table, the cutie map shined brightly, but instead of being presented as a mission for any of the main six, this was a warning. "We came as quickly as we received your message." Princess Luna walked up to her, seeing her agitated and worried about the new appearance of a possible threat. "This has never happened before," The pony reiterated, almost stomping on her post as a way to shake off her anxiety, "There are no cutie marks, it doesn't call us anywhere, it just..." Looking towards this so-called prophecy, Twilight bit her lip. Princess Celestia was the first to react as soon as the rest of her student's friends appeared on the scene, reading the prophecy for them, the bringers of harmony. "From the depths of obscurity," She read it with unease, burdening her words with a terrible uncertainty, "A mighty and ruinous entity shall emerge from its confinements within an ancient place. It shall bring forth a reign of chaos and destruction, trampling all that stands in its way and leaving a wake of ruin and desolation in its path, like flames devouring all in their wake." Princess Celestia lowered her gaze, letting the table erase the letters already read with new ones. "When the being comes to know the true cruelty of the ponies, their walk shall lead to final domination. Let the only drop of hope be lost forever in the water of perdition, and with that, the fate of all will be sealed." Princess Luna's words continued the prophecy, both princesses stood next to each other blankly. "I pray that the creature made of darkness is not born." Twilight finished reading it, turning her head to observe her friends' more or less confused expressions. "That can't be good..." She cowered in place, surrounding herself with the company of her friends to find some comfort. ... Following the princess with hurried steps, the ponies galloped to the hidden room in Princess Celestia's castle, asking questions one after another. "Princess, what is the map talking about? Why didn't I know about this prophecy?" "Yeah, doesn't it seem like we're always the last to know that there's another danger threatening harmony?" Rainbow Dash asked into the air, earning a kick to silence her. The orange-maned pony coughed, retracting her hind hoof as if nothing had happened. Princess Celestia sighed, accompanied by her younger sister, she faced the mural in which the stories of the misfortunes in Canterlot were portrayed. Her horn glowed as she surrounded herself with magic, reflecting a shadow behind each glass in the portrait, "Because I hoped this threat would never come," She dropped her eyelids, her whitish lashes covering her gaze. "The Darkborn, is a pony legend that appeared millions of years ago..." With a simple turn of his head, the golden magic around her horn turned into an image in the air, small strands of gold that, as the seconds passed, drew a story. "With each arrival of a tragedy, sadness and desolation will overwhelm the world," the princess manipulated the threads, drawing the image of every 'evil being' that could ever threaten the peace of the ponies. "This creature will learn from evil, like a blank canvas that will little by little be painted black. Legend says that only when its most precious asset is taken away will the destruction of the beings that live on this earth be imminent, but no one has been able to decipher its precious treasure yet." "Not even the bearers of harmony can stop it, it will be born of discord and live in the shadows, feeding only on sadness." Lowering her snout to the ground, the princess delivered the bad news, unable to see the ponies' gazes. "Is there nothing we can do?" The mare with the pinkish mane questioned herself, not in keeping with her lively and distracted personality. Elsewhere, a large black egg moved to the side of a strange looking horse, as if it were snuggling in the warmth for the first time, pulsing with each passing second. Princess Luna raised her gaze, scanning the uncertainty of the mares with her blue eyes, dark as the night, she responded, turning her head towards the ironic joyful morning. "For now, we can only hope for the best." Author's Note I don't even speak english, don't expect anything from this. 💗
