Have a good day/night everypony In the Sun's Embrace In a peaceful home, in a quiet village in Ponyville, lived a family of three: Aria Castro, the mother, Sunburst Castro, the eldest son, and the youngest, Nerlz Castro. The brothers were their mother’s pride and joy, embodying the strength of the bond that held the family together. The eldest was gentle, always looking after his younger brother while Aria went out to work at the café that had recently opened up. As she was about to leave, she called out to the two brothers, who were silently huddled together on the couch while cuddling. This made her chuckle as she said, “Don't open the door for anyone you don't know, and if you get hungry, there's a bag of bits on the table to order food.” The eldest, Sunburst, quickly replied for both of them, “Okay! Be safe. Love you, Mom!” He trotted to the door, closing and locking it with his magic, before hurrying back to the couch where his younger brother, Nerlz, sat waiting patiently. Once he got settled in, Sunburst leaned in and planted a kiss on Nerlz’s forehead, making his younger brother flush with embarrassment. Though quieter and more reserved, Nerlz mirrored Sunburst’s kindness in his own way, nuzzling his elder brother to further show the love and support he had for him. Nerlz grabbed the book his brother had been reading and opened it to where they had left off. Due to Sunburst’s poor eyesight, Nerlz often stepped in to help him read, guiding his brother with a helping hoof and understanding. After a couple of hours of reading aloud to Sunburst, Nerlz nudged his older brother’s neck with his nose, looking up at him and softly asking, “Sunshine… I’m a little hungry and… if you don’t mind, could you p-please order us something to eat?” Sunburst leaned down and nuzzled Nerlz, saying, “Sure, Nerlzie. I’ll order something for us.” He grabbed the landline phone and dialed Pizza Hutches their favorite meal: roasted eggplant pizza. Secretly, he had ordered it because it was Nerlz’s favorite, though Sunburst didn’t mind it either. He waited as the line picked up. “This is Pizza Hutches, how can I help you?” the voice on the other end asked. “I’d like to order a large roasted eggplant pizza,” Sunburst said. The pony replied, “This order will be made shortly. The wait time is 20 minutes. Is that okay?” “mhmm,” Sunburst agreed. “Is this for delivery or pickup?” the pony asked. “Delivery,” Sunburst replied while giving his address before hanging up. wrapped his hooves around Nerlz’s shorter frame, hugging him from behind. After some quiet cuddling, the doorbell rang. Nerlz wanted to get the pizza, so he slipped out of Sunburst’s grasp and trotted toward the door. When he opened it, the delivery pony greeted him. “Eggplant pizza. That’ll be 8 bits.” Nerlz froze. He didn’t know what to say to the stranger, and he had forgotten to grab the bits from the table. Stammering, he tried to explain, “I f-forgot to grab my bi—” But before he could finish, Sunburst stepped up behind him, effortlessly becoming his voice. “Here are your 8 bits, and a tip for getting here on time,” Sunburst said, dropping the bits into the pony’s pouch and grabbing the pizza. “Thank you, have a good day,” he called as the delivery pony walked away, closing the door behind him. The brothers complemented one another perfectly. Their differences strengthened the connection they shared. Nerlz quickly took the pizza and ran to the coffee table near the couch, eagerly sitting down and placing the box on the table. He waited for Sunburst to return with drinks and plates. When Sunburst came back, he placed the items down, and Nerlz quickly opened the pizza box, revealing his favorite. After taking in the delicious scent, he grabbed a slice. Before taking a bite, he leaned in and gave his big brother a quick peck on the chin. Sunburst smiled, though he wasn’t very hungry since he had eaten before their mother left. He simply sat back, watching Nerlz enjoy the meal. The sight of his younger brother’s happiness brought him so much joy. Once Nerlz finished eating, he picked up his plate and the pizza box, carrying them over to the dining table and then to the sink to wash his dishes. After he finished, he walked back to his big brother and sat down, getting cozy once more. Nerlz glanced down at his hooves, his voice barely a murmur. "I... um, I just wanted to say thank you for saving me back there," he whispered, avoiding Sunburst's eyes. "You didn’t have to, but... it means a lot to me." He closed the book slowly, not before marking their place. “Sunny… I’m getting a little tired. Can we take a nap for a bit?” he asked, levitating the book to the coffee table. He pressed his face into his brother’s reddish-orange mane, breathing in his scent as Sunburst chuckled and trotted toward their shared room. Today we will be uncovering the hidden meaning in poetry.” She said writing down the title of the lesson on the white board with her magic. Writing down what she says while continuing the lecture, “Poems often seem simple at first glance, They could talk about everyday things like nature, seasons, or personal feelings” breathing in before starting back up “But what makes poetry truly magical is that, beneath the surface, there are deeper meanings waiting to be uncovered at any second. It's similar to a puzzle where every word is a piece of the image, you just have to find what each word means.” For the next 10 minutes she went further into detail on what to look for in a poem to find its one true meaning. After Miss Sparkle has taught how to find the hidden and true meaning of a poem. She then quickly wrote on the board while saying “You all are going to be the little detectives of finding the meaning and emotions” Picking up the stacked poems before passing them all out trotting to each student to personally give the poem. Walking back to her desk before saying out loud “This assignment is to find what the poem means to you!” before sitting down. Nerlz then started to read the poem. _ _ _ "The Wandering Clouds" Soft, the clouds drift in the sky, Carrying whispers, passing by. Above the world, they float so free, Hiding secrets we cannot see. Do they dream in the moon’s soft light? _ _ _ I took Nerlz 5 minutes to fully read the poem, Looking back to the notes that he wrote down remembering the strategy to find the meanings of the any type of poem. Nerlz began to daydream while analyzing a line about clouds drifting over the horizon. He imagines himself in the poem, floating among the clouds, which was silly at first but inspires a deeper more personal interpretation. He wrote the Clouds Symbolizes that the clouds are about love, and how sometimes the love you have has to be hidden and kept secret due to people hating you. After what felt like hours, Miss Sparkle got up from her desk, trotting up to the front of the class getting the attention of everyone. “ Once you have figured out what the meaning of THIS poem means to you. The next part of this assignment is to write your own short poem but~” causing some of the kids in the classroom to groan “Guys come on, It's not that hard all you need to do is give it a hidden meaning. You have to the end of class to finish this assignment, write your name on the front and turn it into the front desk stacking them all together.” Nerlz then thought about what to write, he found the perfect idea! _ _ _ "The Silent Tree" A single tree sways in the breeze, Roots buried deep, hidden with ease. It watches quietly, masked by the sky, Fearing to reach, yet longing to try. Its leaves hold whispers never told, Of hopes once warm, now left to cold. But still it stands, quiet and sure, Bearing a love it can't endure. For winds bring whispers that chill the air, Reminding the tree that none will care. So it hides its bloom, its gentle grace, Lest those around it turn their face. Its strength concealed, its heart unknown, It grows in shadows, all alone. Though love may ache, it dares not speak, For fear the world will call it weak. _ _ _ After Nerlz finished writing his poem, Underneath he wrote “the trees represent someone who must keep their love hidden, out of fear that revealing it would lead to rejection or isolation. His poem captures the pain of carrying unspoken love while maintaining a facade to fit in.” Soon as Nerlz finished what he wrote down, The teacher called out once again “Turn in your paper and line up the door!” He grabbed his pencil and journal and put them into his bag. Then got up and walked towards the front desk, turning in his work, then lined up in front of the door. Hearing the bell ring, he walked towards the schools library, for the next class he had “Principles of Education” he wanted to become a english teacher, so he signed up for this class but this class has no teachers to teach you so you have to learn everything from a book, And turn in the work to Miss Sparkle so she can grade the work you have submitted. He trotted towards the library. He also loved this class because he was able to talk to his older brother who also has a class similar where you stayed in the library with no teacher teaching you. Humming to himself happily, he made it to the library, opening the door slowly to not disturb anyone. Sunburst, ear twitched hearing the door open, looking up to see his little brother who also stays in the library, waving his hoof to get the attention of Nerlz who quickly saw him trotting hastily towards him before sitting down next to him. Nerlz who was taking out his book, journal and pencil he was going to use for today once he had everything set up he quickly nuzzled his brother whispering “I missed you big brother..” Sunburst, whose heart fluttered quickling nuzzled him back. “I missed you to Nerlzie, Let's finish up our work quickly so i can walk you to your next class.” he said booping his little brother on the nose before turning to his work Nerlz beamed looking overjoyed that his older brother is gonna walk him to class, nuzzling his brother shoulder before getting to work He decided to start his work for today looking towards his notes, he was tasked to make a lesson plan that he could use to teach. Nerlz decided to make a english lesson plan, He decided to make a list out what he's planning to do. First step he should do is find an objective that he likes and make a good lesson plan. Looking through his Equestria Essential Knowledge and Skills, After flipping through the book for a while he found two objectives that looked interesting and decided to write both of them down. The first objective he wrote down “I will use resources to find the definition of each vocabulary” then wrote the next objective “I will respond using the newly acquired vocabulary by writing down sentences for each vocabulary word” Clopping hooves together, happy that he did the first part just… squinting his eyes to count how many more he has to do, from the looks of it only 6 more! The next part he needed to do next was called “Materials Needed” it was simple he just needed to write a list, quickly writing down what he needed. 1 - Journals 2 - Pencils 3 - ChalkBoard 4 - Dictionary The second part was done! Decided to do all the easy ones first, so he did “Timeline Reference”. He wrote in a list of what he is going to do throughout the class. 1 - Entry Procedures: 3 Minutes 2 - Objection review: 5 Minutes 3 - Focus Activities: 5 Minutes 4 - Review Objective: 5 Minutes 6 - Activity Review : 6 Minutes 7 - Instructions : 3 Minutes 8 - Non Verbal Question : 5 Minutes 9 - Exit Ticket 3 Minutes 10 - Exit Procedure : 3 Minutes Nerlz felt like he was on a roll! Giddy at how easy this assignment was, the next thing was so easy he giggled lightly catching the attention of Sunburst. “Whatcha laughin about Nerlzie?” he said looking at the colt who was giggling lightly into his hooves. Nerlz then pointed to his journal. “One of the steps of this easy plan is to make a lesson plan title” The orange colt who looked over his journal then said “That is pretty easy and silly of you” he said with a chuckle of his own. Getting a confused look from Nerlz. “H-How the hay am I silly? I did all this w-work by myself.” he said, folding his arm before turning away from his older brother. Sunburst, whose face went serious for a moment “Nerlz Language.” then continued to explain “Look at the other steps, they look reeeaaalllyyy difficult.” Nerlz looked at what he was pointing at, face going white. “What the buck that is difficult” Nerlz exclaimed getting a look from Sunburst. Pulling Nerlz towards him who let out a startled yet quiet yelp, softly grabbing his face “What did I say about swearing and what will happen if you say too many?” Nerlzie realizing what he said got nervous and began to fidget in place. “Big brother..” looking away from his brother's eyes who softly but firmly asked him once again. “Nerlz.. Look at me when I talk to you.” Nerlz who looked back with tears in his eyes, trembling remembering that he has been having a bad potty mouth lately swearing a little more than he should have. The black colt who is not shaking a tear falling down his face “Y-You told m-me not to s-swear no more” Sunburst quickly raised his eyebrow waiting for his brother to continue “A-And you told me if I k-kept saying it, I-I..” choked out “I will g-get spanked…” Nerlz hated getting spanked by his big brother because he loves him so much and the idea of his lover hurting him, It makes Nerlz whimper. Helping his little brother get everything packed, who just sat there sniffling trying one more time “B-Brother… please.. Nerlz figured out what's going to happen after his last class.. As part of his punishment his brother wont let him eat at the lunchroom and go straight home to give him his punishment. Quickly trotting to his third class, Cooking Class, this class is usually for young mares or fillies who wanna learn how to cook, but he wants to learn for his big brother. It will be finished in 30 minutes, it said, so he trotted back towards his bedroom to get ready, Grabbing the a single hair tie, two bows, and a brush. Since he recently taken a shower his tail and hair is mostly damp, Brushing his mane with the brush, He brushed his mane a little bit, The curls in his hairs slowly became less curled, so his mane was up to his shoulders with volume, Then brushing down his bangs to cover his forehead, For the finish touches of his mane he grabbed his first bow clipping it onto the hair that his next to his right ear. Next Going towards his tail brushing it to remove all the knots and tangles, once the brush was going through the tail without stopping, he tied the bow along the base of his tail keeping all the strands of his tail together making it look cute with the bow and tiny waves going through his tail. Getting up going towards his Dresser it was split right in the middle, he shared it with Sunburst he grabbed his striped scarf that is Navy and Light blue, Tying it around his neck then grabbing his leg warmers that are nice and fluffy to go around his front two legs up to the join, And the back two leg warmers going up and hugging his curve of his flank. He finished then heard Sunburst walk in fully styled and dressed up ready to go, Nerlz who looked over his brother question him “where did you get your cloak? The hay patty is crispy on the outside, but soft and warm in the middle along the bread buns being perfectly golden so it’s soft and crunchy. The Lettuce and tomato is also really good, giving it a freshness to even out the saltiness of the bread and patty. Quickly taking another bite but bigger, he was starving it felt like. Sunburst quickly asked Nerlz “How does your food taste?” he didn't hear the colt, he turned his head seeing his little brother who is eating his food messily taking a big bite, with a chuckle he added on “Looks like someone hungry, does it taste that good?” Nerlz who looked up towards his older brother, embarrassed he quickly swallowed, before saying “mmmmhmm, the burger is so gooood.” Sunburst, who now looked at his burger, took a smaller bite than his brother did but he could taste the saltiness of the crispy hay patty with the light sweetness of the burger buns. “Wow…” looking towards his brother, seeing a bit of ketchup around his mouth, levitating his napkin towards the little colt's face, “Are you so hungry that you forgot your table manners?” lightly scolded his little brother, before chuckling. “You are right, these burgers are pretty good.” Noticing how appetizing the french fries looked he quickly looked up towards his older brother, “Can I get some of your fries?” right after giggling a bit. I did it because i l-love you so much, Sunburst!” Before he could let his older brother say anything he shoved the rest of his cookie into the orange colt's mouth seeing him chew it before swallowing it, Then looked over his shoulder to see if no one was there, once he made sure that they wouldn't be seen by anyone. Nerlz then saw his brother leaning down while lifting his chin with a hoof, He then felt Sunburst’s lips against his own, who slowly parted his smaller maw open. Sunburst decided to deepen the kiss by pressing harder into the smaller colt while petting the back of his black mane. The kiss felt like it went on for eternity, pulling away only a few minutes. Leaving Nerlz panting softly. Once sunburst pulled away seeing Nerlz with his eyes half closed, tears welling up in the corner panting softly. Nerlz woke up in an unfamiliar room with Sunburst next to him cuddled up nice and snug, wiggling away from his brother's hug thinking to himself “Where a-am I…” he slowly went towards the door, The door lead to a bathroom fully decorated and fit for guests. Deciding it was best to take a nice warm shower. Quickly walking over to the shower turning the knob so water can start to gently fall down. Turning and tweaking with the knobs so he could get the perfect temperature now seeing the light steam of the water. Sicking his hoof into the raining water it was slightly warmer than usual but it will do. Jumping into the shower scrubbing his body with the shampoo and conditioner that was there. Once he finished he dried himself a bit leaving his mane damp. Going towards the door on the opposite side of the room he was able to hear voices of ponies talking. Slowly going down the stairs peeking his head from the stairs seeing six ponies and one dragon, It was all his teachers. With a small whimper before saying “H-Hello..?” He then saw everyone turn their heads towards the little colt who was at the stairs. He whimpered a bit louder before slowly turning around “u-umm I-Im gonna go back…!” before he could go up the stairs once more he heard someone call out to him. Rainbow Dash wanted to talk to the colt alone for a while since she figured out was going on “Hey Little guy, Come over here.” She called out to Nerlz, She then saw the little colt freeze up walking towards them with his head down. Standing next to her looking down at the floor kicking at the wooden floor. He mumbled out “y-yes miss dash..” looking at anything except the mare in front of him. Rainbow Dash quickly told the colt “Sit right there.” point to the seat that is between Herself and Fluttershy. She then saw Nerlz quickly trot over to the chair sitting down. The table was higher than usual to fit Twilight’s new height so he had to stand a bit on his hind legs with his front hooves on the table to keep himself steady. Nerlz sat and watched all the pony turn their heads towards him, all with mixed emotions. Fluttershy who was nervous, Applejack who had a grimace, Pinkie Pie looked like she saw a ghost, Rarity who looked uncomfortable, Twilight who looked stern. The last pony he turned his head towards was Rainbow Dash; her face was not readable, just a blank long stare. He was not ready for what's going to happen next.
