The Dark Mare

After being banished by Princess Cadence and Shining Armor's love powered spell it did not take the Queen of the Changelings long to return but this time she went without a disguise. Once she got in she randomly fed of love and grew very strong. She came back to Canterlot even more powerful than last time. She turned into Luna trapping the real one underneath Canterlot and slipped her army in by night. But she did not know that her great niece was hidden among them. After her whole army was in she had them hide until she gave the signal.. She gave it on hearths warming eve in the middle of the pageant. When she did it was a complete surprise to everypony. Even Celestia was unable to stop them.

It seemed that all was lost now that Queen Chrysalis had all of Canterlot under her control, or so it seemed. There was one pony still free and that one pony was the Dark Mare. Queen Chrysalis was siting on her throne bragging to herself about how easy capturing Canterlot had been and how nopony could stop her now when a cloaked figure stepped into the room. Assuming it to be one of her slaves she let her guard down and ordered the figure to fetch her some tea, but when the figure did not move to get the tea yet moved closer to the throne she became irritated. “ Didn't you hear me?!” she scolded. I told you to fetch me some tea!” The figure only moved closer. The figure continued to advance until it reached the steps to the throne. By this time the queen had a worm of fear eating away at the confidence she had beforehand. “I thought I told you to fetch me some tea not walk up to me as if you are my superior.” She said a little shakily. But the figure was undaunted by the enraged demands of the queen and slowly began to climb the steps that separated the two. By this time the queen had somewhat settled and decided that this insolent upstart could be used to teach the others a lesson so she sent for all of her subjects so that she might prevent any other rebellious spirit from standing against her. As the queens subjects filed into the room she readied herself for the battle that would take place in a few moments.

Then the figure spoke to the queen in a voice only she could hear, and these few words are exactly what she said to the queen at a time when all seemed lost and the queen ruled over all: “ You don't know who I am do you?”

Then they stepped into the center of the room and the queen announced: “I don't know who you are but I don't care who you are.” The queen demanded that the figure take off the cloak so that she may have it as a trophy when she won.

The figure replied: “I will agree to take off my cloak, but be warned what you see underneath may confuse and disturb you” Then in a swirling flourish the cloak dropped to the floor exposing the Dark Mare.

“How?!” the queen exclaimed in surprise as she recognized the pony that came from underneath the jet black cloak that now lay on the floor. The fight began and although the queen seemed to be winning it was not so. For you see this was a purely one sided fight scenario, in which the Dark Mare had the upper hand.

“ You thought I was dead didn't you? Thought that leaving me in the woods to die as an infant would get rid of me huh? Well here I am so your plan to kill me failed, and so will your plan to rule equestria all because of one little mistake. That mistake came from your rush to get rid of me, you see you left me there in the middle of spring when all the fruit in the forest is ripe, where as if you had left me in winter I could have died. But now I can get payback for all the pain and suffering you caused me, you are the reason I spent years living in a woods people hardly go into because of fear and legend. Now you will pay the price for what you did to me. You will pay. I am going to make it so you can never come back.” and with those words the Dark Mare's rainbow magic enveloped the queen as tears of sadness washed down the faces of everypony in the room because of how sad the Dark Mare's tale had been and everypony watched in amazement as the queen began to disappear while the rainbow magic began to increase in brightness and color as it turned completely solid. Thus the queen was no more.
