- " That's where she remembered seeing him.
It was during a charity fundraiser to a sick colt last month. She was enthralled by this stallion. Tall, built, slick white horse in a fancy tailored suit. He caught her attention when it was announced he was donating a hefty number of bits to little Tinker Toy's cause. She practically bounced towards him to personally thank him for his generosity. She recalls him taking her hoof in his and remarked 'it was his pleasure to help others'. He had looked deeply into her eyes and gave a genuine smile that made her heart skip. She could never remember a time a smile could make her feel this way. And as he trotted off stage, she already began to miss seeing it.
But the heat returned to her face in the same way as she saw him again, entering into the Sugarcube Corners doors. The stallion had smiled immediately at seeing the familiar face.
"Oh! Miss .. Pinkie Pie, was it?" He asked as his horn glowed to take his monocle in it, adjusting his vision to clearly see the pink pony behind the counter.
"Fancy Pants?" She mumbled silently before perking herself up. "Hi! It's so nice to see you again! How have you been?" She couldn't help smiling and putting a hoof to her warm cheeks. She needed to calm down, but she can't help how she gets.
"Likewise. I've been well, just in town to visit Miss Rarity about commission I've put in about a week ago. How about you, dear?"
She nearly keeled over by that little 'pet name'. Celestia, she could feel the steam leaving her ears now from the overheating. "I've been swell! Better than swell! I've been trying some new recipes recently with my bestest friend, Rainbow Dash! They came out amazingly, each of my friends had the biggest smiles from them!"
"Sounds delightful." He tiled his head to the side. "Miss Pie, are you feeling well?"
She giggled, control yourself Pinkie. "Mhm! Just, warm from the ovens! Yup!" She looked into the counter display and reached into it. "Say! I still have some leftover cupcakes from the new batch! Would you like to try one?" She set the tray carefully down. Each cupcake was colorfully decorated, being topped with a fluffy white buttercream frosting and rainbow-colored sugar sprinkles then wrapped in cyan paper.
Fancy Pants looked over the pastries in awe, having this look of curiosity. He sighed softly, "I shouldn't. I always have such a weakness to sugar." He almost looked away in shame.
Pinkie bit her lip at this. She pushed the tray slightly towards him, wanting him to take one.
"And yet .. It'd be rude of me to deny such a gesture." He took one of them into his magic, unwrapping the cake. Vanilla, the scent of it wafting its way to her. This made her breath hitch and get heavy when he brought it to his teeth.
He took the most delicate bite into the soft cake. She shuddered hard. Unable to look away at him finishing it and didn't say anything when the buttercream got onto his muzzle.
He reached for a handkerchief from inside his suit pocket, patting away at the frosting. "Pardon. I must say your confectionaries are exquisite, my dear! Dare I say it's best I've had. I shall look into booking you for catering any gathering I plan on hosting soon." Then he gave that smile. That damned smile.
It made Pinkie melt before returning one of her own. She felt giddy from all of Fancy's praise, and her getting a catering job! And getting to see .. him more often.
"I'd love to do it! Anything you want you just name it! Sweets, I mean." She giggled again.
"Wonderful! Are you busy sometime next Tuesday? I'll be planning another fundraiser for a local Canterlot's university. Unless it'll be short notice?" He asked and Pinkie pulled out a large planner from under the counter. She flipped through the first few pages and nodded her head.
"Nnnnope! Don't see anything happening for that week! I'll be there!"
Fancy was amazed by the size of this planner by him widening his eyes at it. Though he chuckled at her enthusiasm, and Pinkie's face returned to a red shade. That laugh, it was... so deep and joyous.
"I'll be happy to see you there, my dear. I'll be sending you the address in the mail and the details of the order. Til then, Miss Pie." Fancy took his leave, but he left her with a small smile before walking out the double doors.
Pinkie had a moment to take in everything before waving feverishly at the stallion. "See ya Fancy Pantsy!!"
She waited until the doors swung behind him. Then she turned her back to the counter and slumped to the floor. She breathed heavy, her chest getting tight and her face fully becoming red. This emotion was strong enough to make her sick. In fact, she began dry heaving as she clutched her hooves against her stomach. She always hated getting like this. Where if a certain pony takes her interest, she'll have the hardest time controlling herself. Having to put on a mask around the pony until they look the other way for her to finally spill her guts.
Pinkie got taken out of her thoughts when she began coughing violently, barely being able to breathe. She had lurched forward with both of her hooves by her head. She finally let it all out, not being able to hold back her lunch and splattered the floor of the bakery. Her breathing started to steady, spitting out leftover bile. That's better. She sighed out of relief from it being over. But then she perked up her head, a smile forming on her face.
She had to tell somepony special about this news.
After cleaning up the floor, putting away her planner and 'special' cupcakes. Pinkie made her way down the bakery's basement stairs.
"Raaaaaaainboooow! Rainbow Dash!" She called out into the darkness, feeling around for the small rope hanging from the ceiling. "You wouldn't believe who just showed up right now!"
She took the rope into her hoof and clicked the lights on. Turning her head around to see her favorite friend in the corner of the basement.
Rainbow Dash was stuffed. Her body covered in ragged stitching from being put back together. Her wings and cutiemarks appearing missing. She reeked of a smoky scent as if she had been cooked once or twice. Her eyes having no life in them, she had been long gone for a while.
"There you are Dashie!"
Pinkie did a little bounce towards the stuffed Rainbow Dash and took the rainbow tail into her mouth, pulling her over to the old rusty operating table. She stopped Rainbow right by and had a seat onto the flattened table.
"So! Guess who I saw today! You get three chances! C'mon Dashie! Guess!!" Pinkie waited giddylyy for the lifeless pony's response.
No answer.
She snorted as she waved her hoof at Dash as if she did responded though.
"Ha! No! Not Gilda, silly! You know she's sitting over there and having a tea party with Cheerlie! You get two more."
She sat in the uncomfortable silence, the buzz of the light fixture growing in volume.
"Nooo, not Fluttershy. She hasn't left her cottage in days after finding out you've been missing. I think she took the term 'hermit crab' a little toooo literally. Heehee! I don't blame her you know. I'd be scared by the disappearances too until I realize I'm missing the party around here!" She pointed out the gorish scene that surrounded her. The entails decorating the walls, the skulls that were painted on the table, the dress made out of pony flanks on display on the pony mannequin and the finishing touch. A banner reading, 'Life is a Party!' that was above the dranged pony's violent crime scene.
"One more guess!" She grinned wider until it shrank back down. "You don't know? Aw Dash! I told you about him the other time, remember?"
She leaped from the table, spinning in a circle as her hooves clutched over her chest. "That charming stallion with the truly stupendous smile? The one that makes my little tummy do super flips! Do you remember? Do you remember him, Dashie?"
Silence.
"Yup! Fancy Pants!" She sighed at the mention of his name. "He actually came here! To the bakery! His mane flowed from the wind of the doors, his spiffy little bowtie on tight and and ..!"
Her hooves came up to her face in embarrassment, she couldn't hold back her smile. "He.. He called me 'dear'. And! He enjoyed your cupcakes! He hesitated, he almost didn't have one, in fact he nearly rejected it! He-"
Her smile suddenly dropped.
"He ... wanted to.. say no...But, he did anyway right? He said he had a weakness to sweets so.. that must mean he wanted one, right? He didn't.. say no.. to me, right?"
Pinkie's ears twitched back; her head craned to the side to look behind at Rainbow Dash. "What do you mean he'd reject me? What are you talking about?"
Nothing.
"He wouldn't do that to me. He's such a sweet pony, he would give me a chance! I know he would! I-"
She only heard silence. But she didn't react that way, her head snapped back, and her teeth were gritted. She wanted to grind them down.
"I know I just MET him. I'll take my time to get to know him. I'll know him better than YOU. BETTER than how you treated me! I just WANTED to be more than your FRIEND, but you didn't want that didn't you DASH? DIDN'T YOU?"
Hate was what her expression turned into. Her gums were bare from her exposed teeth, she looked lowly, and her mane had straightened.
"I wished you had loved me, Dash."
Whatever the workings of Pinkie Pie's mind made Rainbow Dash say got her to snap. She yelled as she grabbed a nearby wooden stool, throwing in Dash's direction. The stool went past her head and hit the display of severed horse heads, making them fall to the floor.
Pinkie then lunged at Dash, pushing the stuffed pony to the ground as the pink pony stood above her. She grabbed a scalpel off the tray and held it above Dash's dead eye.
"He's going to be mine, Dash. ALL mine. He's going to LOVE me. He'll take my hoof, kiss it and I'll get all lovey dovey. I'll swoon over him being such a gentlestallion.. then!" She started cackling to herself, her mouth turning into a devious smile.
"I'll devour him whole."
She giggled maniacally as she brought the sharp edge into Rainbow's side. She repeated this motion, over and over, freeing open the stuffing onto the bloody floor.
The silence only being filled by high, crazed laugher of a pink pony off her rocker.
