Vinyl Woke Up
Vinyl Woke Up
Previous ChapterNext ChapterVinyl woke up.
The room was bathed in the grey light of early morning, dimmed slightly by their thin curtains. Vinyl stretched, then looked to her side. There was Octavia, sleeping soundly.
Vinyl headed downstairs. Filter. Coffee. Water. Button. The machine now doing its thing, she allowed her mind to wander.
Or it did for a few moments, before she heard the stairs creak.
Octavia looked haunted. By what, Vinyl couldn't say.
"What day is it?" Octavia croaked out.
Vinyl blinked.
"Vinyl, what day is it."
Vinyl felt a twinge of fear, at the way she'd said that, but she levitated over the calendar and pointed. November 12th.
"This isn't a joke?" Octavia's eyes searched Vinyl's face.
Vinyl slowly shook her head.
Octavia stormed past her, towards the front door. Vinyl followed. The door swung open with some force, and the paper on the front step was scooped up into Octavia's hooves. She sat down on her haunches and studied the front page, then the next, then the next.
Vinyl stared at her. Eventually, Octavia looked up.
"Vinyl," Octavia said, her voice shaking. "I think I need to talk to Princess Twilight."
