Off the coast of big continents lies the Ponyland Archipelago, and on said coast lies The Kingdom of Ponyland. This kingdom is where the ponies live and thrive, Earth Ponies, Pegasi, Unicorns, Breezies alike and they live happily secluded from the rest of the world. But it didn't matter to them as they were shy of other species. No pony has ever dared to leave the island as it risks their life and it has been that way up until one day when it would be dishonored.
Now Ponies have their own way of celebrating holidays, and magic has always played a role. On Halloween for example, Earth Ponies use their plant magic on pumpkins they have grown over the summer to come to life and play with the fillies and colts. On Springmas, they all come together to attend the spring promenade and make the flowers and plants grow, Pegasi and Breezies spread magical dust that makes all the flowers pop up like jack in the boxes. This is Wysteria's favorite holiday since she loves flowers and planting them of course. Wishing power has a long history with Ponies. It goes back hundreds upon thousands of years ago in the faraway dimension known as the realm of wishes. Where a group of ancient wizards destined to spread happiness throughout earth creating creatures that harnessed wishing magic. One pegasus just so happens to be part of magical creatures and her name is Star Catcher. That's where she came from by the way! This is also where Twinkle Wish came from and could sort of be a sibling to Star Catcher, even though she's a star. Twinkle Wish would get the holiday in which she would shine, and that holiday was the day of the Christmas Wishes Festival, which landed the day before Christmas itself. On that day, all the ponies would create the best ornament for the ever-forever green tree and the one who's ornament is the most special is chosen to put her on top of the tree to which then she would grant every Pony in Ponyland a wish. That was the best part of it all!
Although Ponies like to believe that they are the only sentient ones on the island, they're not alone. Way before Ponyland was created and the Ponies first settled there, they were constantly attacked by severe weather patterns that randomly changed willy-nilly. That's because the island was really under the control of a terrible fearsome dragon named Iccus. Iccus could change the storms in any way she wants, if she wanted it to rain, it would rain, if she wanted it to snow, it would snow. No matter what, she had the power of the weather in her claws.
Now Iccus hated Ponies and how they were stealing her land for themselves, so she tried to drive them away by creating horrible storms that rocked the island non-stop. No-pony dared try to go to her hideout on Willy-Nilly Mountain until a group of unicorns led by the mighty, brave Gusty the Great! The soon to be first monarch of Ponyland!
Gusty led her team to Willy-Nilly Mountain to confront this terrible beast and stop the chaos being unleashed onto the innocent ponies. There inside the cave, she encountered Iccus.
"Iccus!" shouted Gusty. "Your terrible weather attacks against the ponies are over, I demand you to stop your tyrannical ways at once!"
"A tiny little pony like you does not intimidate me" Snarled Iccus and with that, She spewed fire towards Gusty and her crew. Luckily a unicorn behind her blocked the fire using her magic.
"That was your last warning, now you will pay for your crimes against ponykind." Said Gusty. The unicorns and her all combined their magic together and beamed it against Iccus. The beam struck at her with an bright flash.
"ARGHHH!" Yelped Iccus in pain. "I DEFY YOU, BUT YOU'VE PROVEN TO BE TOO POWERFUL! I SHALL RETURN ONE DAY!!!!!"
"And that day will be never" Gusty said.
Icccus' scream got quieter and quieter as the once powerful dragon was put to sleep, and when she was finally sleeping. Gusty ordered the cave to be sealed off so that no-pony will ever find the beast again, and from that day forward. No one will ever be afraid of Iccus ever again. Gusty became a hero of the ponies and was hailed Queen Gusty I of the Kingdom of Ponyland for her cunning bravery! She had liberated the ponies from Iccus' wrath and ended the destruction.
Many moons will go by since that great day, Queen by Queen would ascend the throne, and the thoughts and fears of the powerful Iccus faded away and were now nothing more the mere colt and filly imagination. But, through some kind of dark magic........Iccus would awaken again one day, and that day just so happens to be the week of the Christmas Wishes Festival.
So now we go to Ponyville, which is where the ponies live and acts like the capital of Ponyland. Celebration Castle stands in all it's glory, which was built shortly before the events unfolded on Willy-Nilly mountain. It was for the most part wonderful to live in. So many happy faces, beautiful homes, wonderful scenery, it's a dream come true! It has always been like that since it's founding more than 800 years ago and it still is to this very day!
The core seven live here, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, Cheerilee, Starsong, Toola Roola and little Sweetie Belle. They are the bestest of friends and knew each other since they were foals. They would do everything together and help out with the whole town and themselves. Pinkie Pie is the leader of the core, she is brave, smart and oh so fun-loving. Whenever there is a party, she is the party-planner, she will make sure everything goes right for a party. Pinkie also looks after her friends as she values them the most and defends them in any predicament!
Chapter 1: Prepartion for the big day!
It is 15 days before the Christmas Wishes Festival, and every pony is getting ready for the big day! All and about you will see ponies setting up their Christmas decorations. Wysteria is planting special winter flowers, Star Catcher is helping out with decorations for her best friend Skywishes by flying up to the tallest of the buildings, and Minty is outside in her Christmas socks and Santa hat stumbling in getting her decorations up onto her house, speaking of which, some of it is (you guessed it) socks. But also peppermints, lights and candy canes all of which are green because her next best favorite thing is the color green.
Minty still has some bad feelings last Christmas when she accidentally broke the Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane and nearly died in the north pole trying to find Santa, but luckily Pinkie was there and they went back to Ponyville safe and sound. Nevertheless, Christmas is Minty's favorite holiday, especially the Christmas Wishes Festival. There were some times her ornament won and she put up Twinkle Wish on top of the ever forever green tree (which is another tree the ponies have for their wishes while the actual Christmas tree is the main tree) with some mishaps here and there but never once did she majorly screwed up that as well.
Sunny Daze was skating back to her house from the store with decorations when she just so happened to come across Minty.
"Hiya Mints!" she happily said to the mint horse.
"Oh hey Sunny" Minty replied back. "I was just setting up my Christmas decorations and it's taking an awful lot of time, can you help me by any chance?"
"Sorry Mints, but I have to get my Decorations back to my house in time." Sunny said. "Maybe you could ask Pinkie to help you, she's done with her house."
"Okie dokie! I'll go get Pinkie!" Minty exclaimed joyously and galloped away to find her.
Sunny giggled, "Minty Minty Minty" and skated off.
We now cut to celebration castle where Queen Solaria resigns, Queen Solaria is the ruler of Ponyland. She rules modestly and benevolently. But sometimes will take some of her time to have a little fun in escape of all of her royal duties, like playing cricket with the royal court or visiting the beauty of Butterfly Island and it's majestic beaches. She's a little of a perfectionist as she makes sure that the Christmas Wishes Festival goes out exactly as planned with no screw-ups. She always sent her unicorn protege Twilight Twinkle to check on every pony in the town.
Twilight Twinkle is also the Grand Duchess of Ponyland. She always heed to her higher title's command and follows her around the castle halls. She was the one that put the crown on Solaria's head the day Solaria was coronated and has been coronating royals the day she ascended to the title from her mother. When she is not with Solaria, she will be away in her studies on history and magic along and discussing about stuff with Master Heathspike, The castle's dragon, Mayor Flitter Flutter. Twilight also gives Cheerilee insights into Ponyland's fabled past.
Queen Solaria was walking through the halls with Twilight Twinkle beside her.
"This Christmas Wishes Festival is going to be absolutely perfect coming up!" The Queen gleefully said.
"It sure is, nothing could possibly go wrong your majesty." Twilight said
How's everything with Cherry Blossom and the other unicorns of the court?" The Queen asked
"They're just as busy as ever, Brights Brightly and Whistle Wishes are leading the Decoration effort in Unicornia, while Cherry Blossom is teaching Rarity more about her role as a princess" Twilight answered.
"Alright then, soon all of Ponyville will gather around for the start of the holiday season. I want you to go out and tell them to meet at the ever forever green tree."
"Yes your majesty!" Twilight said, and then ran outside.
Now we go see where the Core 7. They are just as busy as the rest of the ponies, decorating their houses for Christmas and the festival as well as helping out others. They are hanging up wreaths, strewing lights, and placing ornaments on their Christmas trees. Everything needs to be perfect for the big day coming up!
Pinkie Pie is outside helping Minty out since she is still having some trouble with her decorations. She will climb up onto Minty's house and put them up while Minty will toss her up said decorations. Like I said, she always helps others in need and never once did she fail them. That was always her perk, it has to do her good nature and ability to help others in that kind of friendship, that and also that she is a pony and ponies always look out for each other no matter what, even if it's a creature of a different species. Which is why Spike is the only inclusion into pony society as he was buried underneath the castle for what seemed to be centuries, you might say he got lucky.
"Where do you want these lights again minty?" Pinkie questioned.
"A little more to the left!" Minty answered "They have to line up and go around the house!"
"Okay!" Pinkie said.
Then Twilight showed up to them in the middle of the decorating.
"Oh hey Twilight! What brings you here?" Minty said
"There's going to be a meeting at the ever forever green tree, and the Queen will be there so don't be late!"
"Wow! The Queen is hosting a meeting!" Pinkie said eccentrically, "C'mon Minty! lets go!"
"Okay!" Minty said and the two ponies stopped what they were doing, Pinkie climbed down, and both of them went off to the tree.
Rainbow Dash is making her house look the fanciest, shamciest most colorful and glamorous in the town. She always has a knack for making everything dashing, colorful and trendy. That includes making glitzy and trendy clothes for whatever fad she is into. She once made a rainbow gown for Queen Solaria when she was ascending the throne and getting coronated. She would never be caught dead looking tacky or outdated as that wasn't simply dashing, and she would also be disgusted if she ever see her friends looking like that and would give them stuff that she sees to be proper to wear.
Rainbow had settled in after she was done when there was a knock on her door, she went to go answer it.
"Well hello there darling and happy holidays!" Rainbow greeted Twilight with glee.
"Hey Rainbow Dash! Queen Solaria is having all of the ponies meet at the ever forever green tree!" Twilight said
"Oh I do so love it seeing the Queen dressed up in such beauty, I'll be right there darling." Rainbow said and went to go get her winter clothes.
Since mom and dad are away, the two sisters Cheerilee and Scootaloo are left with decorating the family house. They would from time to time bicker on what they see as perfect the way siblings do, But they would always come to an agreement. Scootaloo will always go for big stuff while Cheerilee is more laid back and prefers the smaller stuff. Scoots has a kind of scrappy nature given her age and wants an equal title to all of the older ponies as she convinces herself that she is a big pony, She can also be rambunctious and cocky. Scoots likes to do tomboy stuff like riding around on her scooter with Sunny Daze doing kickflips and always manages to perfect them without ever getting hurt.
Cheerilee is the eldest daughter of her family. Born 3 years before Scootaloo, Cheerilee often stays out of her little sister's shenanigans as she finds them unpleasant. Cheer's knowledge on history grows ever more complete as that is her favorite topic when it comes to discussions with Twilight. Cheer also has a know-how on magic and how to use her powers. Earth Ponies can use their magic to manipulate the environment around them, like summoning birds and butterflies to pick them up and fly and making things grow, including themselves.
However, her and Scoots are in a little bit of an disagreement on where the snowman should be built.
"The snowman should be on the right side!" Scootaloo said angrily.
"No, the left side makes more sense!" Cheerilee barked back.
"How could it make sense when the bush is in the way Mrs. Know it all!" Scootaloo said. The two continued to spat out at each other until Twilight showed up.
"Hey now, what's going on here? Don't you know it's the holiday season" Twilight Questioned
"Yeah, but my dunderhead big sister can't seem to get her head out of the gutter and agree that the snowman should be on the right!" Scootaloo said in frustration.
"I'm not a dunderhead, you're a dunderhead!" Cheerilee said, offended.
"No, You are!" Scoot snapped back.
"Ease up you two." Twilight said to calm them down. "You can save it for later, the Queen is holding a meeting at the tree, be there quickly!"
The two sisters nodded and followed her.
Sweetie Belle was baking delicious Christmas cookies for her mother in the same way she was taught. That's what she knew for a long time now. Sweetie is a playful little filly, always in a bubbly mood which suited her well. She is also great in making cookies but still needs a little help in cakes, but at least her cookies always come out delicious. Her family came to Ponyville from Unicornia after the two merged together. Sweetie knew everything about it because her mother will always tell her the exciting tales about the city of her roots, and how Gusty got all of the Unicorns to meet with the Earth Ponies and Pegasi and build Ponyville.
Nevertheless, Sweetie saw Twilight and the sisters out of the window. Twilight gestured at her to come outside. Sweetie agreed and took out her cookies from the oven, they were already baked and set them down onto the counter. To which then she got her winter stuff and walked outside.
"Hi Twilight!" She said in her adorably squeaky voice. "What are you doing here?"
"The Queen wants every pony at the ever forever green tree."
"Oh okay!" Sweetie said and joined Twilight and the two.
Twilight led the two to the tree where every pony in the town was, Toola Roola and Starsong were already there when they got the news from Pinkie and Rainbow Dash.
Toola Roola has big dreams of becoming an artist. She always has some creative thoughts going on in her head, she can turn bits and pieces of junk into a mosaic. She is also the most quiet and mostly by herself as she does her thinking alone and without any disruptions or distractions.
Starsong is a purple Pegasus from Butterfly Island. Her family came to Ponyville following it's merger with Butterfly Island. She's rather shy and a bit introverted and wants to be left alone just like Toola, but this is mostly because she's a Pegasus and they're the most isolationist of the ponies.
They greeted Twilight with a warm hello and Twilight greeted them back.
That is when Queen Solaria stepped out in front of the altar and every pony immediately focused their eyes on her.
