t was a bright and breezy spring morning in Ponyville. The kind of day that practically invited ponies to bask in the warmth of the sun and relish the clear, sapphire sky. The early hours saw the town waking up to the soft hum of life as the scent of fresh blooms filled the air and birds fluttered through the air and sang. Ponies all over town began their daily routines, chatting along the cobbled streets and getting a headstart on their morning chores. Above, the sky was vast and blue, broken only by the occasional fluffy cloud that drifted lazily across its canvas.
Rainbow Dash soared overhead, a blur of rainbow colors streaking through the clear air as she set to work clearing the skies. She had always prided herself on her speed, but today her cloud clearing happened at a much slower pace. It wasn't slow enough for anyone to notice, other than Dash herself, but she wasn't going to be breaking any personal records anytime soon. Despite her efforts to focus on the task at hoof, a dull ache was growing from the base of her skull, spreading behind her eyes.
“Come on, Dash, focus,” she muttered to herself, pushing through as she kicked the last cloud into vapor.
Her feathered wings beat powerfully as she now turned her attention to her usual morning flight drills, aiming to squeeze in some practice before the day truly started. “Where are they?!” she muttered, frantically searching through a closet.
Her hooves pushed and shoved aside boxes and spare blankets until her hooves found what she was looking for. From the soft plastic package she yanked a padded rectangle out of the pile and into the light with a scowl. The bright pastel colors on it only added to her irritation.
“Ugh, why do they have to look so… foalish?” she groaned to no one.
The diaper was from a pack of “Wonderbolt Cadets”, a semi-endorsed brand deal by the Wonderbolts themselves.
