"What did you think was gonna happen?"
Twilight had the crown in her hands, but Snips and Snails jumped her before she could wear it, and out of desperation threw the crown in the air.
"I'll take that!" Sunset Shimmer said while she caught the crown in mid air, laughing maniacally as she held it in her grasp.
Spike growled angrily at her while Twilight held him gently.
"At last. More power, then I could ever imagine!" Sunset said as she placed the crown on her head....................

"Umm......... Was that supposed to do something?" Rainbow Dash asked the bacon-haired former unicorn.
"Wait, what the? Huh?!" Sunset was shocked and confused as she held the crown and examined it closely, why wasn't it giving her the power she wanted?
"Hmm, maybe if I just wear it a certain way.........." Sunset said as she placed the crown on her head sideways, and when that didn't work, upside down.
"Sunset what are you doing?" Twilight asked, genuinely concerned for Sunset's mental well being.
"I'm trying to get this crown to turn me into a rampaging demon!" Sunset yelled at the purple human/former alicorn princess.
"Now why on earth would it do that?!" Yelled Applejack who was baffled by this information.
"I don't know! I just want to become powerful!" Sunset yelled at Applejack.
"Let me try it for you Sunset!" Snails offered as he took the crown and placed it inside his shoe.
"No no no no no! You don't wear it like that! You wear it like this!" Snips complained to his partner, as he placed the crown on his nose where it will fit.
"Oh give me that! It's obvious that's not how it's supposed to be worn! Normal head wear isn't even meant to be worn like that you idiots!" Sunset berated her two incompetent accomplices, as she tried wearing the crown in different ways again.
"Wait wait wait, did you really think that that crown had any magic?" Twilight just now realized.
"Well, yeah! It's the element of magic, which is the most powerful element of all. So it must have the magic to give me the power to overthrow Celestia!" Sunset monologed to Twilight, causing her to giggle and snicker after being told this information.
"What's so funny?!" Sunset roared at Twilight.
"Oh Sunset, don't you get it? The crown doesn't hold any magic!" Twilight revealed to Sunset.
"WHAT?!" Sunset was baffled and upset.
"Me and my friends are the magic that creates the elements, the physical trinkets are just symbolic." Twilight told Sunset in a tone that says "You should have known this!"
"Wha- no, NO! I KNOW there's magic inside this crown! And I just need to unlock it!" Sunset declared, as she placed the crown on her head again. Only this time she started verbally commanding it.
"Come on you stupid crown! Give me the power! Make me a goddess! Come on!" Sunset demanded the crown. But it did not change, not even a flicker of power.
"Sunset, please just give us the crown. It's obvious you had a plan that was doomed to fail." Twilight asked Sunset in a polite and gentle tone.
"No! Wait just give me five more minutes! I can get this thing to work I swear! Please!" Sunset begged Twilight and her friends as she continued trying different ways with the crown.
"Sorry darling, but there's just no magic inside that thing." Rarity told Sunset in a way that said "please stop".
"But you don't understand! I need magic! I need the power to become respected and beloved! Please! I beg of you!" Sunset begged desperately for the crown to do something, ANYTHING. But it didn't do anything for her.......
"Sunset, please, just stop......... This is really just sad, and actually really, quite pathetic. Just give us the crown, and save yourself the embarrassment......" Twilight politely asked Sunset.
In a moment of hesitation, Sunset ultimately gave up and gave Twilight the crown, crying on her knees over her unreachable goal and shameful behavior.
"Look, Sunset, I know you wanted to be powerful and respected, but sometimes these things are unachievable. You need to let go Sunset." Twilight gently told Sunset.
"Yeah! Especially when your dream is to turn into a giant she-demon!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed in an inappropriate cheery tone.
"What are we gonna do now Sunset?" Snails asked his boss.
"I...... I don't know! Ok?! I had a plan and it failed! Just leave me alone!" Sunset yelled, as she cried mascara tears.
"You know, if it would make you feel any better. You could befriend this world's version of my friends, they could teach you how to be a better person, and even a few things about friendship." Twilight offered Sunset while she was vulnerable.
"But I-" Sunset was about to speak until Snips interrupted her.
"Wait a minute! I know what she was missing! The other elements!" Snips exclaimed, thinking he found the answer.
"Oh, so what you're saying is that she needs the element of honesty?" Applejack questioned.
"And the element of generosity?" Rarity added.
"Loyalty?"
"Kindness"
"Laughter"
"Then she'll become an all powerful demon?" Twilight finished the question.
"Uhhhh........... Oh............." Snips just now realized the paradox of that solution.
"Yeah, that's what we thought." twilight stated, satisfied she had gotten through to him.
"Anyways Sunset, what will it be?" Twilight asked the girl on her knees in front of her.
"I'll be good! I'll learn friendship and be nice! I promise!" Sunset exclaimed while hugging Twilight in desperation.
"Good choice." Twilight simply stated, satisfied with getting through to Sunset.
"Wait, that's it?! You aren't gonna punish her for what she's been doing?!" Spike growled, disappointed that she didn't get the karma she deserved for all she's done.
"She's learned her lesson Spike, punishing her would just be pointless. And besides, being embarrassed over the crown not working is punishment enough." Twilight stated.
"I still think she deserved MORE then that." Spike simply said. Though he was really just angry at her for kidnapping him and using him to drag Twilight outside to give her the crown.
"Oh you're gonna LOVE being our friend Sunset Shimmer! I can tell you all about me! How I started out as someone young and looking for fun! How I got into parties! And playing games! And laughing at funny jokes! And-"
As Pinkie Pie continued blabbering on and on, Sunset was beginning to regret accepting Twilight's offer..............
Which gave Spike much needed satisfaction.
