She was a unicorn that had a light purple coat, her mane and tail a darker purple with a dark pink stripe running their length. On her flank was a six pointed star that was the same color as the stripe in her mane, in between each point of the star were smaller white points that barely had any length to them at all, and the finishing touch was five small white stars surrounding the larger one. "Check." Spike replied, the small purple and green dragon placing a stack of paper on her desk. "Quills?" "Check." "Books on Changling magic?" "Not many, but check." "Ink?" "Che... um." spike paused, moving around the contents of a drawer "Hey Twilight, did you put the ink somewhere else?" "No, why?" questioned Twilight, a puzzled look on her face. "Because there's none in here." spike answered, scratching his head confused. "That can't be right." Twilight said as she got up and trotted over to spike and the drawer that he was at. "I just went and picked up half a dozen bottles this morning." when twilight looked into the drawer, sure enough just like spike said, there was no ink to be found. "Strange, I could have sworn I restocked our ink supplies. I guess i'm just going to have to go back out and pick up some more." "Now?" spike asked his head turning to look out the nearby window that had rain streaking down it. "But Twilight, it's pouring out." Twilight peered out the window, watching the rain come down on Ponyville. The pegasai in Cloudsdale had scheduled a whole week of rain all over Equestria to make up for two months of non-stop sunshine. This drought had been orderd by Princess Celestia after the changling fiasco in Canterlot so her troops could search the rest of Equestria for any remnants of Queen Chrysalis's army so they could be chased out without any delays from bad weather. "I don't have any choice spike," Twilight replied "The Princess wants me to find out and report what I can about changling magic so we can avoid any more attacks like the one on Canterlot. Don't worry I'll be back within a half an hour." "Okay, fine, get all wet for all I care. just don't  come running to me when you catch a cold." spike retorted "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go and take a nap." "I'll be back soon." Twilight said, heading downstairs to the door. With her magic, Twilight picked up an umbrella, placed her saddlebags on herself, and opened up the door. She the stepped outside, opening her umbrella and trotted of to the nearest store that sold ink. As Twilight walked through Ponyville the wind started to pick up a little, making it a little more difficult to hold the umbrella even with her magic. She decided to speed up so she could get inside a little faster. Twilight was just passing by Carossel Boutique when all of a sudden there was a blinding flash that was accompanied by a deafening crack causing Twilight to shut her eyes and jump backwards. Twilight reopened her eyes and they shrunk to a size smaller than a bit as she beheld the sight in front of her. A bolt of lightning had struck the ground not even three meters in front in front of her leaving a five foot wide crater in the ground. Twilight was frozen in place, her eyes glued to to the five foot wide scar in the ground, it still crackling with the shocking yellow energy for some reason. "What in heavens was that?" a regal sounding voice asked as the door to the boutique opened revealing a beautiful white unicorn with a curled purple mane, a trio of light blue diamonds decorating her flank, and a younger white unicorn with a pink and purple cotton candy mane, shaking behind the older mare. "Oh dear, Twilight," the older mare called out to the purple unicorn, "What are you doing just sitting out in the rain, you'll catch a cold." "Rarity," Twilight said in a shaky voice, not breaking eye contact with the crater. "can you come over here please." "Twilight, are you okay?" Rarity asked, grabbing an umbrella with her magic, opening it, and trotted over to her friend making sure not to step in any mud or puddles on the way. "Rarity, look." Twilight said once the white unicorn had made her way beside her, raising a foreleg to point a hoof at the sparking crater. "What is it dea..." Rarity started before she looked at the crater and let out a small gasp. "Oh dear, who is that?" Laying in the crater was a unicorn stallion. The stallion, Twilight noticed, had lacerations all over one of his forelegs and down his back. One of the stallions eyes was swollen shut and he was taking short eratic breaths. "Rarity," twilight said, snapping herself out of her trance and looking at her friend with worried eyes "we have to get him inside. If he doesn't get medical attention he might die." "Ah-alright." Rarity trembled, trying to keep control of her voice. She moved over to the stallion, and very carefully scooped the unicorn off the ground with her magic, a small gasp of pain escaping the unicorns mouth. "Sweetie Belle." Rarity called to the young filly who was still standing in the doorway looking on with fear in her eyes. "I need you to go to the kitchen and bring me clean towels and warm water to my bedroom." "Oh-okay Rarity." Sweetie Belle squeaked, fear in her voice as she dashed off to the kitchen to get the requested items. "Rarity take care of him until I get back." Twilight said, her horn starting to glow " I'm going to Ponyville Hospital to get some help." "If you're going to the hospital, why don't you just take him wi..." Rarity started, but it was already to late. There was a flash of light as the scenery around twilight changed from the stormy dark outside of Rarity's boutique to the bright sterile inside of the Ponyville hospital. "I NEED A DOCTOR." Twilight exclaimed, startling Nurse Redheart who was sitting behind the reception desk with her sudden appearance "IT'S AN EMERGENCY." //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: a shocking discovory //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: a shocking discovory "Is he going going to be okay doctor" twilight asked as she looked at the unconscious unicorn through the open door. The stallion had been transported to the hospital after twilight had brought the doctor to Rarity's boutique. After they had arrived back at the hospital and the stallion had been stabilized, twilight got her first clear look at the unicorn. His coat was a light chestnut brown with a spiky white mane and tail. He had no cutie mark, which for a stallion of his age was odd, but what was really strange about the unicorn was his horn. Unlike a normal unicorn, whose horn should look like a spiraled cone, this unicorns horn was shaped like a lightning bolt and was twice as long as a normal unicorns horn. It was also white like the stallions mane instead of being the same color as the the rest of his body. "He should be just fine." the doctor replied, following Twilight's gaze towards the stallion. "He's actually quite lucky that you were the one who found him Ms Sparkle. His wounds were quite deep, and without your telepotation spell we might not have gotten to him in time." "Thank Celestia." Twilight exhaled, relived that the stallion was going to live. "Now Ms. Sparkle, I have a few questions for you." the doctor stated "first of all, do you know who the patient is?" "No." Twilight answered "Today is the first day I've seen him before in my life." "Right," the doctor said, jotting down notes on his notepad "and where did you find the patient?" "Right outside of the boutique," Twilight said, "in a small crater where a bolt of lightning had struck the ground a few meters in front of me, which makes no sense because he wasn't there before the lightning hit." The doctor gave twilight a puzzled look. "Are you sure he wasn..." he started before he was interrupted by a voice coming from the room he and twilight were standing by. "Uh... wha-what... where?" the stallion spoke, his golden yellow eyes now open and studying his surroundings. "He's awake!" Twilight said excitedly, letting the doctor trot into the room before closely following behind him. "Hello son." the doctor said, quickly grabbing the confused unicorns attention. "There is no need to worry, you are quite safe. Your now currently in Ponyville Hospital, and I am the hospitals head doctor. Can you tell me what your name is?" "My name is..." the unicorn started before pausing, looking like he was trying to remember something. "My name is... I-I can't remember." "Well that's not good." the doctor said with a worried look. "Can you remember anything from before you woke up here? "Um... Uh" the unicorn muttered, his face slowly screwing into a pained expression. After about a minute or so he replied "I-I just can't." The unicorn was now holding his hooves to his head, occasionally whimpering as pain pulsed through his head. "Are you okay?" Twilight asked, stepping out from behind the doctor. The male unicorn ignored her, clutching his head tighter with his hooves as the pain got worse. "Hey can you here me? I asked if you were alright." she said, placing a worried hoof on his shoulder. As soon as her hoof made contact the stallions eyes shot open and he quickly turned his head to face her. When his gaze meet hers his pain seemed to compleatly disappear. They held eye contact fora few seconds and twilight felt her cheeks grow hot, a blush growing across her face. Then she saw what she swore appeared to be a spark of electricity flash across his eyes. A second later the stallion let out a painful yell as his pain came back as quickly as it had left. As the stallion yelled in pain, bolts of yellow electricity started to fly off of his horn, striking anything in the immidiate vicinity. Twilight immideatly conjured up a magenta colored barrier with her magic to prevent any of the bolts of electricity from hitting her or the doctor. The stallion continued to yell and the electricity continued to strike things in the room, breaking pots that held plants in them, frying medical equipment, and scorching the walls. The stallions pain was thankfully short lived, as after about a minute and a half, the unicorns eyes opened once again. Electricity stopped flowing out of his horn as he fell limply onto his bed, his eyes slowly starting to close again as he slowly slipped into unconsciousness. As he did he let his eyes drift back to twilight who looked both curious and horrified at the display the stallion had just provided. "My name..." the male unicorn muttered at the edge of consciousness, just barely loud enough for the two ponies to hear. "is... Gigawatt." He slipped into unconsciousness as the last word slipped out of his mouth. "Gigawatt?" Twilight wondered out loud, lowering her magenta shield as the doctor and a few nurses that had come to see what was happening rushed by her to make sure that the stallion was alright. her mind started to wander, filling up with questions about the unicorn. Who exactly was this stallion? Where did he come from? What was that spark that she saw in his eye when they looked at each other? Why did she start to blush when... "Ms. Sparkle!" the doctor cut into her thoughts, waving his hoof in front of her to try and get her attention. "Huh, what?" Twilight responded, startled at the unexpected interuption. "Oh! Is he okay doctor?" Twilight asked, looking at the stallion laying on the hospital bed, nurses hovering over him as they checked his vitals. "He'll be fine,he just lost consciousness." the doctor replied, looking at the male unicorn and back to twilight again. " now Ms. Sparkle, I'm aware that your concerned for the patients well being,but it is getting late, and since your not family I'm going to have to ask you to leave for the night and come back in the morning." "What, but what if he..." Twilight started to interject, suddenly feeling very emotionally attached to the stallion. 'Where did that come from?' twilight thought trying to find out why she felt this way. "Do not worry Ms. Sparkle," the doctor replied, gently coaxing her towards the door. "if anything happens during the night I'll personally make sure that you are the first pony to be notified. "Okay, fine." twilight reluctantly agreed, silently trotting out the door. "I should probably inform Princess Celestia about this and make sure Rarity and Sweetie Belle are okay. I mean it's not like it's everyday that somepony just appears in a bolt of lightning injured as badly as he was." "Very good Ms. Sparkle." the doctor agreed with a nod as he closed the door to the stallions room behind him leaving the nurses to their job. They walked to the entrance of the hospital in almost complete silence, and once they reached the doors the doctor said "Have a good night Ms. Sparkle." "You to doctor." Twilight replied. she gave one final look down the hallway they had come from, sighed, and trotted out the hospital doors. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Unexpected Coldfront //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Unexpected Coldfront After leaving the hospital twilight decided to head back to the library to head back to the library to check on spike and make sure that he wasn't worrying about her after being gone for most of the day. While she was there she would also inform Princess Celestia about the events that had transpired in Ponyville today. As she trotted back to the the library her mind started to wander, her thoughts revolving around the stallion she had found just a few hours prior. "Who is he?" she thought aloud, not worrying about anypony else hearing her as it was still raining out and nopony was outside. "How did he just appear out of nowhere? And why is he injured so badly? Was he attacked by something? Timberwolves? A manticore?" "Who was attacked by what?" A voice asked from beside Twilight, effectively snapping her out of her trance. She looked to her side and spotted spike beside her, making her wonder why he was out in the rain. "Spike why are you here?" she asked the baby dragon. "I thought that you were back at the library?" "Um, Twilight, we are in the library." Spike replied looking at the lavender unicorn with a confused look. "What?" she said looking around, and realized that she had entered the library without noticing. "Oh, "she blushed, "I didn't realize I was already here." "Well now you do." Spike said, dismissing what the unicorn had said. It wasn't uncommon for her to zone everything else out and not notice what happened around her. "So where have you been? You were just supposed to go and by some ink and come right back. And you said something about somepony being attacked." "I'm not sure if he was actually attacked, " she responded, placing her saddlebag and umbrella in there respective places "But Rarity and I found a badly injured stallion by her boutique." "Really?" Spike asked, his expression turning to one of concern. "Is he okay?" "The doctor said he would be fine." Twilight assured the baby dragon. "He's already regained consciousness once and, after a bit of difficulty, was able to tell us his name was Gigawatt before he passed back out." "Well at least he's alright." Spike said, relived that the stallion was alright. "Did you remember to get some ink?" Spike asked." Twilight blinked before slapping a hoof onto her face, slightly annoyed at the baby dragon's question and replied "No Spike, I didn't get any ink. I was a little preoccupied with what was going on, and getting ink wasn't on the top of my list of priority's." "But what about the report on the Changelings that the princess asked you to write?" Spike asked "That will have to wait for the time being spike." Twilight replied "But I do have to write a letter to the princess containing the details of what happened today. I'll ask Rarity if she has any when i go to check if she and Sweetie Belle are alright." "What do you mean check if there alright?" Spike asked, his voice and face filled with worry. "Did something happen to Rarity?" "No, nothing happened to her Spike." Twilight ensured Spike. "But she and Sweetie Belle did seem to be a bit shaken when i left for the hospital with the doctor and the stallion." "Well if your going then I'm going too." the baby dragon stated as a matter-of-fact, pointing to himself with his thumb whilst saying so. "I thought you might want to come along." Twilight said. Turning to the door Twilight scooped up her umbrella from where she had placed it and looked at Spike and beckoned him with a shake of her head. "Come on." With that the baby dragon hopped onto Twilight's back and the unicorn trotted out the door. As Twilight and Spike made there way to Rarity's something caught the lavender mares attention. Looking up, Twilight saw that the pegasai that made up ponyvilles weather team seemed to be franticly flying around, there heads shooting around as if they were looking for something. Twilight started to ponder about what the pegasai could possibly be looking for when she and spike were suddenly hit by a wall of cold air. The duo started to look for the source of the unexpected cold front when spike seemed to notice something out of the normal. "What the?" the baby dragon said holding out his claw to catch something white and fluffy. "Is it snowing?" Spike asked looking up at the sky. "Snowing?" Twilight question looking up at the sky herself. sure enough, when she looked up a small flake of snow landed on her muzzle. "Why is it..." she started, lowering her umbrella as she looked to the sky in confusion. As soon as her umbrella was pointing straight out beside her, all the snow ceased to fall, instead being replaced by the rain that had been falling only moments before. A sheet of rain fell onto Twilight and her counterpart, her coat and mane being instantly drenched by the wall of water that hit her, causing her mane to fall flat against her head. Twilight put the umbrella back up to prevent them from being further assaulted by the falling water droplets, an unamused expression on her face. "Well that was odd." spike said from twilight's back, the water on him seeming to just run off as he had scales instead of a fur coat, leaving the baby dragon relatively dry. "You can say that again." Twilight replied irritably, glaring at the sky. She then noticed a familiar rainbow hued streak quickly fly overhead. "RAINBOW DASH!" Twilight called out at the high speed rainbow, catching its attention. The multicolored blur stopped on a dime in midair revealing itself to be a cyan pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and tail. The pegasus then flew back the way it came and landed beside the unicorn. Up close the pegasai's cutie mark was now visible through the heavy rain. Her cutie mark was a cloud that had a lightning bolt that sported red, yellow, and blue stripes in it. The pegasai also wore a pair of goggles that were partially fogged up over her barely visible magenta eyes. "Whats up Twilight?" the rainbow maned mare asked, brushing some of her soaked mane off one of her goggles lenses. "The weather." Twilight answered plainly. "Rainbow Dash, did you notice it was snowing just a minute ago?" "Not where i just came from." Rainbow Dash replied, seeming unfazed by twilight's statement. "The same things been happening all over other parts of Ponyville though. Not only that but nopony on my weather team seems to be able to do anything about it." "No way!" Spike exclaimed "Do you know what's causing it?" "Unfortunately no." Rainbow shook her head. "It seems to just come and go without warning, and with no visible source, not even a cloud." "Hows that possible?" Twilight asked "Don't know." Rainbow replied. "We think it might just be somepony playing some sort of prank. Most likely a pegasus, but it could be a unicorn as well. That's why I have the weather team flying around like that. We're searching to see if we can find any pony suspicious. Speaking of which i should probably get back to it. Can't have anypony messing around with weather in Ponyville while I'm in charge." "Good luck Rainbow." Twilight said as she and spike gave the pegasai a small wave as rainbow spread her wings and took off. "Thanks." Rainbow called back, already quite a distance from the purple unicorn and dragon. "Who would mess with the weather?" Spike asked after Rainbow Dash had flown out of sight. "I don't know Spike." Twilight answered, starting to trot off towards rarity's once again. "It doesn't seem like anything anypony in Ponyville would do." Shortly after rainbow dash had left from her chat with Twilight and Spike, the cyan colored pegasus landed on one of the roofs of the many buildings on the outskirts of ponyville. Rainbow took off her goggles and started to wipe away at the condensation that had begun to build up on the inside of them as she took in her surroundings looking for anything out of the normal. As far as she could tell there was nothing abnormal about the area in front of her and started to put her goggles back on so she could continue looking for whatever was causing this strange weather. Just as she got the strap onto the back of her head she noticed that there was ice forming on her lenses. She squinted the lenses and drew them closer to her so she could get a better look at them. Suddenly a cold breeze came from behind Rainbow and she spun around on a dime, unintentionally letting her goggles to snap back onto her face and causing her to wince in pain and swear at the goggles. "Wonderful weather we're having, isn't it?" a voice said. The voice was female, that much Rainbow Dash could tell as she fumbled with her goggles, ripping them off in frustration and throwing them down on the roof. She looked towards the source of the voice spotting a white pegasus mare. The pegasai's coat was snow white with no imperfections on it at all. Her manes bangs, which were flat along the top but spiked down at multiple intervals in a diagonal fashion until they covered her right eye, were white. The rest of her mane, which rolled down the back of her head like crescent waves with two little tufts of hair coming out from under her ears, was an ice blue along with her tail except for a few white tufts of hair. Her eyes matched her mane and tail perfectly and on her flank there was no cutiemark. She was wearing a pair of goggles similer to the ones that Rainbow had just thrown away around her neck, and a pair of black gloves with cuffs the same color as her mane on her front hooves. "What are you talking abo..." Rainbow Dash started, only then realizing that it was no longer raining, but instaed a light snowfall had started. The cyan pegasus looked to the sky, and then back to the mare, at the sky again, and the finally rested her eyes back on the mare. "Are you causing this?" Rainbow glared at the white mare. "Not on purpose." the white pegasus answered nonchalantly, looking up at the sky. "It just happens when I'm around rain." she explained looking back at Rainbow, studying the cyan pegasus carefully. "Listen, I'm looking for a unicorn. He has a light brown coat and a white mane and tail. He doesn't have a cutiemark and his horn is shaped like a lightning bolt. Goes by the name Gigawatt. Have you seen anyone like that?" "No, I cant say I have." Rainbow Dash answered The white mares face changed dramaticly, her ice blue eyes glaring daggers at the multicolored pony. "That's to bad." The mare said, sounding half sad half angry, flaring her wings. The pegasus gave one powerful flap and, without warning a small snowstorm enveloped Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash had not been expecting to be attacked in the slightest. Rainbow spread her wings ready to take flight but found that her strength was being quickly sapped away. Rainbow then started to feel her eyes become heavy as the edges of her vision started to go dark signaling unconsciousness was setting in. As the blizzard started to die down, Rainbow collapsed on the roof, patches of ice staring to form on her coat as she slipped into unconsciousness. The blizzard fully dissipated, leaving an unconscious Rainbow dash on the roof alone, the other pegasai having disappeared, the rain starting to fall again. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: New Discoveries //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: New Discoveries Twilight knocked on the door to Rarity's boutique standing underneath the umbrella that she held aloft with her magic as spike sat on her back. They waited a few seconds before the door to the boutique opened, revealing the white unicorn they had come to see, a worried expression clearly spread across her face. "Twilight!" Rarity exclaimed, her expression brightening a bit when she saw her friend. "How were things at the hospital? Is the stallion going to be okay okay?" "He's going to be just fine Rarity." Twilight replied, trotting inside as the white unicorn stepped aside to allow her friend passage. "The doctor said that he's going to make a quick recovery. He also said that you and sweetie belle did a good job cleaning and dressing his wounds. Speaking of you two, how are you doing? You seemed a little shaken up when we left with Gigawatt." "Were doing fine Twilight, we were just a little..." Rarity started before pausing to give her friend a questioning look. "Twilight, who's Gigawatt?" "Oh, right." Twilight said, remembering that Rarity still didn't know the stallions identity yet. "The stallion regained consciousness at the hospital for a little bit. He seems to have lost his memory, and the only thing he was able to remember before he passed out again was his name." "Oh the poor dear." Rarity exclaimed, raising a hoof to her mouth and a look of pure concern appearing on her face. "That wasn't the worst part either."Twilight continued, worry in her voice. "While he was struggling to remember his name he looked like he was in pain. When i asked him if he was alright he looked at me and his pain seemed to stop for a moment. The next thing i know he's screaming in all out agony and there's lightning shooting out of his horn uncontrollably around the room. It went on for about a minute before the lightning stopped and he started to lose consciousness, just barely able to mutter out his name before he passed out." "Oh my, are you okay twilight?" Rarity asked, embracing Twilight in a comforting hug. She then lead the purple unicorn and dragon to her kitchen and waited until they all sat down before she continued. "You must have been terrified." "I'm fine rarity." Twilight replied, retuning her friends hug before she gently broke out of it. "I was able to cast a barrier spell before the doctor or myself were hit by any of the lightning to protect us. We weren't harmed in any way. I cant say the same for the room we were in though." "Wait wait wait." Spike interrupted reminding the two mares that the baby dragon was still there. "You didn't say anything about this back at the library." "I know Spike." Twilight replied "Honestly I was preoccupied with some feelings i couldn't figure out and i just didn't want you to worry." "Well I'm worried now." Spike mumbled under his breath, crossing his arms. "There's no reason to be worried Spike," Rarity stated trying to quell the young dragons fears. " If twilight had been harmed in any way I'm sure she would have told you about it, am i right Twilight?" "Exactly," Twilight agreed picking Spike up his seat with her magic and floating him in front of her so she could wrap her hooves around and embrace him in a loving hug, " If anything does actually happen to me, I assure you that you'll be the first to know." "You promise?" Spike asked as he returned her warm embrace. "I promise." Twilight replied. "Twilight " Rarity interrupted " I don't mean to sound rude and pry, but you said something about new feelings. I'm curious, what exactly did you mean by that?" Twilight gently broke her embrace with the baby dragon and gently set him down before looking at Rarity. " I'm not exactly sure Rarity." the lavender unicorn started to fidget a little and her cheeks gained a faint tint of red, as she remembered the feeling she that she had felt when she had meet the stallions eyes and when she had been asked to leave the hospital. "When i saw his eyes for the first time I kind of felt like my heart was about to leap out of my chest. I don't know what it means, I've never felt like this before." Rarity, her eyes as keen for detail as ever, noticed the faint blush appear on the lavender mares face as well as the fidgeting of her hooves, and picked up instantly on Twilight's feelings. The white unicorns face lit up like a light as she pulled her lavender counterpart into an excited embrace drawing a small squeak from the unprepared unicorn. "Oh Twilight darling!" Rarity exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement holding twilight close. She released the purple mare but kept her hooves firmly placed on Twilight's shoulders. "Twilight you've developed a crush on the stallion." "I've developed a what!?" "A crush Twilight." confirmed Rarity, lowering her hooves from the purple mare. "Don't tell me you've never had a crush on anypony before." "Well, no. Like I said I've never felt like this before." Twilight admitted while avoiding eye contact. "I was always studying as much as i could, and being the personal protege of the princess i never saw that many other colts or fillies my age." "Are you sure?" "Positive." "It's true," Spike added, "She was always either in the library or her room with her nose in a book. And when she wasn't she was training with the princess." "Oh, this is to good to be true." Rarity squealed, bringing her hooves together in excitement "Our Twilight's fallen in love, and for her first time no less. Wait until the other girls here about this." "Rarity, I don't want to make a big deal out of this," Twilight pleaded. "Can we just keep this between the two of us and Spike for now. "But darling being in love is a wonderful thing. Why would you want to keep this from the others." " A few reasons actually." Twilight stated. "First, we know nothing about him. I mean, What if he turns out to be some fugitive on the run from the law. What would the others think. Second, if Pinkie Pie finds out, the first thing shes going to do is throw a party celebrating that I've got a crush on somepony. And as much as i like Pinkies party's she can go a little overboard sometimes. Third, if Pinkie learns that there's somepony new in town, she'll go and throw a party for Gigawatt over at the hospital when he needs to get his rest. Pinkie will probably find a way to throw both party's at the same time with her in attendance at both." "All valid points dear." Rarity agreed. "Though I think your first example is less likely to be true than the others." "So you promise not to tell the others?" "I'll do even better. I'll pinkie promise." "Really?" Twilight asked a hopeful look on her face In response the white unicorn went through the motions as she chanted "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." She ended, placing a hoof on her closed eye. "Thanks Rarity." Twilight hugged the white unicorn. "Ugh, whatever." Spike muttered to himself. "Twilight, didn't you need to write a letter to the princess?" "Oh right" Twilight remembered." Rarity you wouldn't happen to have any ink on hand would you?" "Well of course Twilight" The white unicorn answered getting up from her seat. "If you wait here I'll go and fetch some. If you would like you can help yourself to some tea while you wait." She trotted off down the hall towards her inspiration room. "Some tea actually sounds nice right now." Twilight said getting up from her own seat and walked over to the counter. "Would you like any spike." "Not really." "Suit yourself." Twilight opened the small chest that contained Rarity's tea and used her magic to levitate a bag of earl gray out. She closed the chest and proceeded to open the cabinet that Rarity kept her cups and floated one to the sink and filled the cup. She then cast a spell to heat up the water inside until it started to boil. Placing the teabag into the cup she walked back to the table and retook her seat across from Spike. Silence filled the room as the two sat in the kitchen waiting for Rarity to return. "You still thinking about him?" spike asked, trying to break the silence. "Yes!" Twilight cried. "I don't know why i can't get him out of my head. I don't think it's a necessarily a bad thing, but I don't want him to be the only thing I think about all the time. I have things that I need to do that are taxing even without distractions, like the report on the changelings I'm supposed to be doing for the princess." "I know how you feel." the tiny dragon sympathized. "Sometimes Rarity is the only thing i can think about. Her perfect coat, her silky mane, her big beautiful blue eyes "Well I do try to look my best at all times."  the white unicorn the dragon had been complimenting said, a smile on her face as she trotted into the room, a small bottle of ink in her light blue magical grip. "R-Rarity... I...um...y-you..uh..." Spike stuttered, his face growing red. Without warning Spike jumped off his chair and ran out of the room without another word, thoroughly embarrassed. "Oh, Spikey, come back" Rarity called out after the dragon. When he didn't return rarity turned to the lavender still siting at the table. "The poor dear." she put the ink bottle on the table and took a seat herself. "He'll be fine," the purple mare said taking a sip of her tea. "he just doesn't know how to tell you how he feels." "I know." the white unicorn replied. "I don't want to sound impatient, but sometimes I just wish he would hurry up and come out with it. He has a bigger heart and more manners than most stallions I've met." "We're talking about the same Spike right?" Twilight asked sarcastically. She was met with a unamused look from the other unicorn across from her. "I was joking. Spike does have a heart of gold, which he proved when he saved that pheonix egg from those dragons. His manners on the other hand, I have to say are are much less 'refined' when your not around." "Twilight, Spike is a gentlecolt if i ever saw one." "Of course he is rarity, of course he is." Twilight brought up her tea to her mouth to take another sip. Just as she was about to take her sip a bolt of lightning flashed followed quickly by a loud clap of thunder. Twilight jumped at the sound and lost her magic grip on the cup of tea she was holding causing it to spill on her. "HOT!!" Twilight cried, instinctively wiping at her body trying to get the scalding tea off. "Oh dear Twilight!" Rarity exclaimed. Not getting up from where she was she used her magic to open up a drawer under the counter and float a dry dishcloth out of it and over to the purple unicorn. "Here use this!" Twilight grabbed the cloth with one of here hooves, not even trying to use her magic and quickly wiped up the tea off of herself. "Rarity!" a high pitched voice shrieked from somewhere else in the boutique. "Oh dear." Rarity sighed inwardly, looking down the hall. "The lightning seems to have woken Sweetie Belle up. Are you ok Twilight?" "I'll be fine." the lavender mare said as she wiped herself down. she looked up and noticed Rarity looking at her worriedly. "I'll be fine. Go check on your sister." "Are you sure?" "Yes, now go." With that Rarity took off down the hallway towards her sisters room. Twilight continued to wipe herself clean, groaning in pain a little. Once she was satisfied she was clean enough she started to wipe up the tea that had found its way onto the floor. She could hear the soft voice of Rarity comforting her sister down the hall and the rumble of the rain as it came down on the boutique. She then heard a knock come from the door but continued to clean up her mess when she heard Rarity trotting towards it. She finished cleaning the tea and went to bring the cloth to the sink to ring it out when she heard her name being called. "Twilight!" Rarity called from the front door. The rain started to fall harder as Thunderlane, Cloudchaser, and Flitter flew to his house after a hard day of work. 'How am i so bucking lucky' Thunderlane thought to himself glancing back at the two mares behind him. Technically he was officially only dating Cloudchaser, but because of the two twins tendency to do everything together, she was more than willing to let her sister join in on their 'after dark activity's'. Thunderlane was more than willing himself when Cloudchaser had proposed this to him. 'Seriously, how.' Looking back in front of him he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. Looking down he saw a cyan pegasus slumped on a roof. "What the?" Thunderlane flared his wings so that he came to a stop in midair. Failing to realize that the stallion in front of her had stopped Cloudchaser bumped into Thunderlanes back headfirst and bounced off of him. "What the buck thunder, why'd you stop?" Cloudchaser asked, stabilizing herself and rubbing her snout. "Down there." Thunderlane pointed to the pegasus on the roof as Flitter caught up to them. "Isn't that Rainbow Dash?" Flitter pointed out. "Hey, Rainbow what ya doin!?" Cloudchaser called out. When the cyan pegasus failed to give a response or even look at the trio Cloudchaser flew down to the unresponsive pegasus. When she got close she noticed that the speedy mares eyes were closed. "Sleeping again Dash. And in the rain no less." She shook the pegasus to try and wake her up. When she failed to wake rainbow up she noticed a new detail on the supposed sleeping pegasus. There were patch's of ice one her body. 'that's definitely not good' she thought. "C'mon Rainbow wake up." She tried to shake the pegasus awake again. "Is something wrong Chaser?" Thunderlane asked as he and Flitter hovered to her side. "Definitely. She's got patches of ice on her and she's not responding when I try to wake her. She probably just wiped out trying to pull of some new trick." "What should we do?" Thunderlane asked. Cloudchaser rolled her eyes. "Take her to the hospital obviously." "Oh, right." "Your lucky I'm not dating you for your brains." She muttered under her breath. "What was that?" "I said you and Flitter take her to the hospital. I'll go tell here friends what happened." "On it. Come on Flitter help me with her." Thunderlane said as he got on one side of the downed pegasus "Okay." Cloudchasers twin replied, getting on the pegasai's other side. Lifting up Rainbow Dash she and Thunderlane headed off to the hospital. Looking around, Cloudchaser spotted the home of Ponyvilles resident librarian and headed off towards it as it was closest. Landing in front of the door Cloudchaser knocked on the door and waited for an answer. When none came she knocked again and again no answer came. 'She must not be in, or shes sleeping' she thought. She decided to move on and picked the next closest location. Carousel Boutique. On her way to the boutique lightning started to strike inside of the town. Fortunatly none of the houses got hit due to the magical lightning rods that had been placed around town. 'I think the lightnings a little much, but who am i to question the higher ups in Cloudsdale, they know what their doing' she thought as she landed in front of her destination. When she knocked on door this time, it was quickly answered. The white unicorn Rarity opened the door. Standing close behind her was a small filly who looked quite scared. 'The storm must be getting to her' Cloudchaser thought. "Hello, I'm terribly sorry but the boutique is closed for the day. If you wish to have a ensemble created please do come back tomorrow during business hours." the unicorn said politely. She then started to close the door but Cloudchaser used a hoof to stop her. "Listen, that's not why I'm here. We just found Rainbow Dash unconscious on one of the roofs in town. We think she was crashed while she was doing some tricks. Shes on her way to the hospital as we speak." she explained. The unicorns eyes widened at the pegasai's explanation. "Twilight!" she exclaimed calling into the building. A few moments later the lavender unicorn trotted out from behind a corner. 'So this is where she went' Cloudchaser thought to herself. "What is it rarity." the lavender mare asked as she trotted up beside the two white unicorn sisters. "Darling Rainbow Dash is on her way to the hospital." Rarity explained. "Apparently she crashed doing tricks again." "Geez, Rainbow" Twilight said, talking to no one in particular. "Just because she's the fastest flier in Equestria doesn't mean she should be reckless. She's lucky she's got a hard head." The purple unicorns horn flared into action and there was a brilliant magenta flash. When the light was gone there were no longer three unicorns in front of the pegasus. "Well two down I guess." Cloudchaser said to herself. She then closed the door to the boutique and flew off towards Sugarcube Corner. Inside the boutique a purple dragon jumped off the stand in at the front the shop he had been sitting on. "Seriously!" he yelled, snorting and letting a puff of smoke come out his nostrals. "I was sitting right here and she didn't even bother to bring me to. Come on. I get no respect around here." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Internal Blizzard //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Internal Blizzard The soft magenta glow of Twilight's horn illuminated the room as she read her fourth book from the pile resting on the nightstand beside the chair she was sitting on. Glancing sideways, she saw the softly breathing pegasus that was Rainbow Dash laying on the hospital bed beside her. Looking over rainbows body she examined the bandages wrapped around various parts of her body, such as her forelegs and wings, which smelled heavily of antiseptics. 'I still don't believe that a crash could give her injury's like this.' Twilight thought to herself. She, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle had, thanks to twilight's teleportation spell, arrived at the hospital a few minutes after Thunderlane and Flitter had flown trough the doors with a unconscious Rainbow Dash in tow, and were able to witness for themselves what kinds of wounds she had gotten during her "crash" before she was brought further into the building for treatment. The multicolored pegasus wasn't covered in any sort of cuts or bruises that would normally be on her whenever she had crashed before now. Instead her body had been covered in small patches of ice, which after examination from Doctor Stable, had resulted in minor cases of frostbite. Other than that there were no other wounds on her body except for the small bruise on the back of her head. It wasn't even big enough to support the theory that Rainbow had crashed. "Besides, if Rainbow had been doing tricks before crashing, the speed she would have been traveling at would have been enough to punch a hole through the roof she was found on." Twilight thought out loud. "And according to what Thunderlane and Flitter told me, the roof was still completely intact when they found her. Something else is going on here, but what?" She frowned. "What could have done this?" "So ya'll caught on too, didn't ya Twi?" Asked a voice carrying a southern accent from a bed situated on the other side of the room. Twilight looked up and watched as an orange earth pony laying upon it rolled over to face the purple unicorn. "Applejack, your still awake." "Of course ah ahm. Ah couldn't get a wink a sleep if ah wanted to." Applejack nodded in rainbows direction. "Ahm as worried about her as any of the rest of ya." "So you don't believe that she crashed either." "Heck no. Somepony is only afflicted with frostbite when their exposed to extreme cold, which ya probably already knew. Ah've had frostbite before, and let me tell ya, its not a pleasant experience." The orange earth pony shivered as she remembered the winter days of one particularly cold year. "What ah don't get though, is how Rainbow got it? There's still a few months before winters here, and even then it barely ever gets that cold in Ponyville." "Well, earlier today i was talking with rainbow. Apparently some strange weather that not even the weather ponys can control has been happening all around town in random isolated spots. It had even started to snow around Spike and myself earlier." Twilight stated "But according to dash it never lasts longer than a minute, and it definitely doesn't get cold enough for this to happen. The only other conclusion that I can come up with is-" "Ya'll think somepony attacked Rainbow don'tcha sugarcube." Applejack guessed. "Its the only other conclusion that makes sense. Other than in the Everfree Forest, weather is controlled by pegasai. Rainbow dash even told me that she suspected somepony else other than her and the weather team was messing with the weather. She must have found whoever it was and things must have gotten out of hoof." "Ah don't know Twi. It seems kinda far fetched ta me. Ah mean what pony would want ta not get caught that bad that they'd attack Rainbow. And even if she was attacked, Rainbows one of the best fighters there is. The only ones who could possibly beat her in a fight would probably be a royal guard, the princesses, or one of the two of us. Even ah have difficulty's fightin her when we skirmish." "But its the only logical-" Twilight started before giving Applejack a look of utter confusion "Wait, you two have fighting skirmishes?" "Well, after the whole changelin thang, Rainbow wanted ta make sure that if she was in a situation like that again, she would make sure that she was ready. So she came ta me and asked if ah would train with her. Ah was a little skeptical at first but when she explained ta me why she wanted ta do it, i agreed with her. There's nothin wrong with bein prepared." "While I don't agree with you two fighting each other, i guess Rainbows reasoning is sound." A third voice made its presence known. Looking over towards it's point of origin, both mares discovered that Rarity was awake and watching the two intently, gently stroking Sweetie bBelles mane as the young filly cuddled up against her sister in a deep slumber. "Rarity, were you awake this whole time?" Twilight asked the white unicorn noticing the faint black bags under the fashionista's eyes. "Yes darling, I have." Rarity confirmed "As much as i would like to have my beauty sleep, rest has eluded me so far as my mind has been consumed with worry for Rainbow Dash here." "So ahm guessin ya'll heard our disscusion then?" Applejack asked. "Of course, there's not much else happening, so hearing out what Twilight and your own opinions were was a nice change of pace." "What do you think Rarity?" Twilight asked giving the unconscious pegasus a worried glance. "There has to be something going on. None of her wounds support the fact that she crashed." "They don't support that she was attacked either." Applejack countered. Rarity raised a hoof to her chin and appeared to be deep in thought. After a few moments she said. "I believe Twilight might be onto something. She's right that Rainbows injury's point to something other than Rainbow Dash just crashing. I mean Rainbow wasn't the only pony checked into the hospital today. The stallion that Twilight and myself found earlier had quite a few wounds on him as well. Deep lacerations that could have been easily been caused by him being attacked by somepony. Do you think that he and Rainbow Dash could have both been attacked by the same pony?" "I dont know Rarity." Twilight frowned. This hadn't even occurred to her that the two cases might be even closely related. "It could have happened, but considering the way we found Gigawatt, and if the two attacks were by the same pony, then why were the methods in the attacks so different." "Now wait just a dang second here." Applejack interrupted, looking back and forth between the two unicorns in confusion. "Ya'll mind tellin me what ya'll are talkin about. Who's Gigawatt? "Oh right, we didn't tell you girls yet." Twilight remembered, blushing a little in embarrassment that she had still to let her other friends know what had happened. "We didn't really have any time to tell you girls between then and when we heard about Rainbow Dash. By the time the rest of you got here we must have forgotten." "Earlier in the day there was a bolt of lightning that struck near my boutique." Rarity continued for the lavender unicorn. "When i went outside to check what had happened, Twilight was sitting by a crater in the ground where the lightning had hit." "I had almost been hit by the lightning," Twilight took over again, "but what was left in the crater was shocking in itself. A unicorn stallion was laying in the crater, One side of his body was covered in deep lacerations, which oddly weren't even bleeding now that I think about it." "Twilight, worried about his health teleported here to the hospital to get help, even though it would have been faster to bring him there with her, while Sweetie Belle and I stayed behind to make sure that he was taken care of." "The reason why I didn't bring him with me was because teleportation displaces all of your senses for a short period of time, which you experienced yourself when we came here to make sure Rainbow was okay. I wasn't sure how it would affect him so I left him with you." Twilight said in defense. "Anyways, after I brought help back he was transported to the hospital and his wound were treated. A little later he woke up and we found out he had lost all of his memory except for his name. And that's all there is to know." Twilight finished the explination, intentionally not telling Applejack about her crush on the stallion. "Wow, that's quite the story." Applejack commented, tipping her trademark stetson hat over her eyes. "I'll admit, it was a good story, but I've heard better." A tomboyish voice bragged. cCatching the three mares unprepared, there gaze's were drawn to the ainbow maned pegasus, who was now fully awake and had a toothy grin on her face. "RAINBOW DASH!." The three mares cried out in unison. The unified shout of the three suprised mares was almost deafening, and woke the three ponys in the room who had still been sleeping. Sweetie Belle bolted straight up with a squeak, her eyes wide and her horn letting a small spark of green magic escape, as she quickly shot her head around trying to process the scene. Fluttershy, who had been sleeping right in a chair right next to Rainbows bed and had had her head resting right next to the cyan pegasus, had a reaction almost exactly like Sweetie Belle's, except since being a pegasus instead of a unicorn, her wings flared straight out and locked in place. Pinkie Pie who had been sleeping on an extra hospital bed on her back somehow leaped into the air without using anything to give her momentum to do so as she yelled out randomness that must have had something to do with a dream she must have been having before falling to the ground. "Wh-what?" Fluttershy looked around confused before noticing the now conscious Rainbow Dash. The butter coated pegasus's eyes began to fill with tears as she gently hugged her pegasus counterpart. "Oh Rainbow, I-I was so worried. You had so many injury's this time, I thought you weren't going to be okay." Rainbow Dash lifted Fluttershys head so that she could look the crying pegasus straight in the eye. "Dont worry about me Fluttershy. As you can see, I'm perfectly fine. It's going to take more than that to take me down." "What happened Rainbow?" Twilight asked "Yeah Rainbow what happened?" Pinkie Pie bounced up onto the cyan pegasai's bed, a wide grin on her face. "I mean we know you wiped out doing tricks because that's what the doctors told us and why would the doctors lie unless they were trying to hide something from us unless you were doing something you didn't want us to know about but you were doing tricks before you crashed unless you weren't doing tricks before you crashed but what else would you be doing if you weren't doing tricks did the princess give you some sort of super secret mission that you had to fight some really evil bad guy or maybe there were lots of bad guys you had to fight and when you tried to fight them they out numbered you so you had to use your speed to fight them off but there were to many so you-" Rainbow dash forced her hoof into Pinkies mouth to stop her from spouting any more of her crazy ideas that would to continue to grow more and more ridiculous until they made no sense whatsoever. "No Pinkie, I didn't get sent on some secret mission by the princess." Rainbow dash said before removing her hoof from the pink speed talkers mouth. "I didn't even wipe out doing stunts in the air." "Then what did happen Dashie?" Pinkie asked this time waiting for Rainbow Dash to answer. "I was attacked." Rainbow stated. This caused Fluttershy to cover her mouth with hooves and Pinkies ears to flatten against her head and her eyes to widen. "I knew it!" Twilight exclaimed drawing the attention of all the ponys in the room. "You knew?" Rainbow asked confusion on her face. "How could you know i was attacked Twilight, i just told you about it." "Well i didn't know for sure until you confirmed it just now." Twilight explained. "But the wounds you had didn't match up with a crash, so Rarity, Applejack and myself got to talking and came up with the conclusion that you had been attacked. What I would like to know is who would want to attack you and why?" "Well I could think of a few ponys who would like to, including one very angry griffin." Rainbow answered as she stretched her limbs. "Unfortunately for me it wasn't any of them. If it was they would have been here instead of me. No I was attacked by some random pegasus I've never seen before. Asked if I knew somepony named Gigawatt, which now I'm guessing is the same stallion from the story you just told AJ." "Wait, this pegasus is after Gigawatt." Twilight's eyes widened in realization. "If that's true then wouldn't that mean- BOOM!! A loud explosion sounded throughout the building causing the mares to all look towards the door. Shouting could be heard from the other side, and whoever it was sounded absolutely irate. "Well sugarcube," Applejack turned to Twilight, "It looks like we may be findin out sooner rather than later." "Where is he?!" The white pegasus yelled as she slammed an earth pony wearing a white doctors coat against a wall, holding him there by his neck. In her other hoof was another white coated, pink manned earth pony mare wearing a nurses hat, who the pegasus had griped by the back of her neck. "I-I don't know... who your talking... about." The pony in the doctors coat choked, fruitlessly trying to push the pegasai's hoof off of him. "Of course you don't." the pegasus sighed glaring daggers into the earth pony. "He's a brown unicorn with a white mane. He has no cutie mark, a lightning bolt shaped horn, and go's by the name Gigawatt. Where. Is. He?" The earth pony blinked in realization. "I don't... know who your... talking about." The earth pony repeated trying to play dumb. "Your really bad at lying, you know that." She told the earth pony. "I personally don't want to hurt anyone, but unfortunately for you my own personal desires conflict with the orders I've been given. And as much as I would like to disobey these orders, I can't physically stop myself." she then raised the mare she held in her other hoof who was struggling to get free. "If you cooperate then nothing bad will happen to your friend here. If you don't I'll be forced to turn her into a popsical, its your choice. So I'll ask you one more time, where is he?" To prove her point, she unfurled her wing and started to casually flap her wings casually at the mare in her grip, slowly freezing the nurse, drawing screams of pain and fear from her earth pony captive. Before the earth pony could give her a response, the pegasus felt an intense pain in her side and found herself flying across the lobby of the hospital. Hitting a wall in the direction she was sent, her wing got caught at an awkward angle causing it to snap under the pressure with a loud, sickening, audible crack. Wincing in pain but not crying out the pegasus dropped to the floor, landing on her hooves. 'Dammit that hurts' she thought to herself as she examined her wound. the wing was bent at an odd angle, but the skin was still intact and there was no telltale signs of bleeding, so that was good. 'Wont be able to use it for a few days though', Looking up she saw an orange earth pony wearing a stetson hat glaring daggers at her. If looks could kill she guessed that the glare the earth pony was giving her would have made her keel over ten times already. Behind her another pink earth pony and two unicorns were helping the two pony's she had been holding and told them to get to a safe place which the two earth pony's agreed to hastily. "Your going to regret that." she gave the stetson wearing pony her own glare. 'Why did they have to get themselves involved?' she thought to herself. "Yeah, ya'll and what army." The orange earth pony retorted. The earth pony was then joined by the three other mares behind her. Looking at each of the four pony's in turn the pegasus let out a small laugh. "Heheheh, just four of you. It's going to take a lot more to take me on, even if my wings broken." With that she extended her good wing and started flapping it. This in turn quickly spawned a small blizzard that flowed around the pegasus concealing her from the mares across from her. "Twi, what's she doin?!" The orange earth pony looked over to the purple unicorn beside her. "I don't know Applejack. She's probably doing whatever she must have done to Rainbow Dash." The unicorn replied. "Not exactly Twilight Sparkle." The pegasus yelled. "What I did to Dashie was meant to knock her out. This on the other hand..." "Wait, how do you know my name?" Twlight asked, confusion and suprise on her face. "That shouldn't be what you should be worried about right now." The pegasus then stopped flapping her wing and drew it back behind her. Then with one last mighty flap the pegasus sent the storm at the opposing group. "Brace yourselves!" Twilight called out as her horn flashed instinctively, conjuring a magenta barrier around the group. The small snowstorm then wrapped itself around the unicorns shield, causing them to disappear from sight. For about thirty seconds the blizzard roared around them before it finally died out and revealed that the barrier was gone and the four ponys were collapsed on the ground shivering from coldness. "S-so c-c-cold." the pink earth pony chattered. "Your all still alive?" the pegasus raised an eyebrow. "Well that's unexpected, but i can make this work in my favor too." the pegasus trotted up to the group and settled herself next to the pink pony. "Your Pinkie Pie correct?" The mare then placed her hoof on the earth pony and looked at the rest of the ponys around her. " You all have one minute to tell me where Gigawatt is or your pink friend gets a nice cool grave." "Why are you doing this to us?" Twilight groaned from her spot on the icy floor. "Honestly, I don't want to do this to all of you." The pegasus replied, a hint of sadness in her voice. "Unfortunately I'm not in control of most of my body." "Whats that supposed to-" Twilight started "Whats going on out here?" A voice called out from the other side of the room. Turning to the origin of the voice, the pegasai's eyes widened when she saw a brown unicorn stallion standing at the other side. "Gigawatt!" The pegasus yelled, turning to gallop at the unicorn. "Gigawatt run! Your the one shes after!" Twilight exclaimed. The pegasus closed the distance quickly, and when she was about two meters away from the unicorn she pounced at him, and he in turn back peddled away from the mare unsuccessfully. As the pegasus made contact with the unicorn they fell backwards into the hallway that the unicorn had been standing in front of. On the floor the pegasus the wrapped her forelegs around the unicorn and hugged him while nuzzling his chest. "Oh Giggy i missed you so much." The pegasus cried into the unicorns chest. "Wait, what?" Twilight asked in utter confusion. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Cold Shock //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Cold Shock "Oh Giggy, I'm so happy i found you." the white mare cried into Gigawatts chest. Gigawatt lay on the icy hospital floor, his back dampening from the melting ice beneath him. At his waist was a white pegasus who had him embraced in an affectionate hug, nuzzling his chest gently. Dozens of thoughts flooded the stallions head, such as 'what just happened?' and 'why is this pegasus hugging me?'. As his mind raced, it came upon one thought that made all the others silent in his realization. 'Did she just call me Giggy?' He asked himself as he looked down at the white pegasus and got a better look at her. Her coat was a pure snow white a faint glare shinning off of it in even the low light of the hospital. She sported a white and ice blue mane, styled so that the front white part came down over her left (it would be her right) eye and the back blue part spiked downward along the back of her head. Her tail, the same color of blue as her mane, was rough an unkempt, and she wore a pair of goggles with bronze rimming, as well as a pair of knee high black gloves. One final look up and down the mare confirmed that Gigawatt had no clue as to who the pegasus was. 'But she knows me somehow.' Gigawatt thought to himself. "Uh, excuse me, do I know you?" Gigawatt asked. "What?" The mare broke her grip from the unicorn and rose the front half of her body so she could look him straight in the eye. "Gigawatt, its me, Blizzard." "Sorry, but I don't have a clue who you are." Gigawatt pushed the mare off of him. "You can't be serious." 'Blizzard' stood up looking at Gigawatt in disbelief. "I'm pretty sure I wouldn't forget someone as violent as you." Gigawatt gestured towards the four mares on the floor on the other side of the lobby. "Meh, I have a short temper." Blizzard shrugged her good wing. "But seriously, Gigawatt, we grew up together. We knew each other since before the Shadow Calamity. And even during that we stayed together. You were like a, no you are a brother to me. You cant forget about me just like that." "I'm sorry but I really don't know who you are." "This can't be happening." Blizzard shook her head. "it' s been less than a week and your saying you don't remember me at all." "Not the foggiest idea." "B-but, you cant just... Giggy please tell me that your kidding." "I'm not kidding, i really don't remember anything." "But its not possible. This can't be happening, that enchantment that we had placed on us should have prevented something like this from happening." "Enchantment?" Gigawatt rose a eyebrow. "It was supposed to protect us from any type of mental damage." The pegasus explained. "The only way to break the enchantment is for the caster to personally remove it or for you to have come into contact with a reversal stone. but the reversal stones were all destroyed during the Shadow Calamity, so the only way for your enchantment to have been removed is if she removed it from you. Either that or..." The mare paused as she started staring past Gigawatt and at nothing in particular. "Or what?" Gigawatt asked. "Or your lying." Blizzard finished, venom in her voice and her worried face turning into a furious glare. "What! But I'm not lying." Gigawatt leaned back, surprised at the pegasai's sudden mood swing. "I really don't remember anything." "Then explain to me how the enchantment wore off!" The pegasus sceamed pushing her face into Gigawatts. "Because I know for a fact that she didn't do it, and without a reversal stone there's no other way." "But I'm not..." "Shut it Gigawatt! If you want to keep up this charade that's your choice. But I'm still gonna drag your sorry ass back to the castle where she'll decide a proper punishment for you for running away!" 'I ran away?' Gigawatt thought to himself ."Look I'm not lying and I really don't know what your talking about, but if I ran away it must have been for a damn good reason." He yelled back "You did." Blizzard muttered barely audible for Gigawatt to hear though he could still detect its venom. She shifted her eyes away from the stallion as she finished. "You really did." She closed her eyes and shuddered. "Then why are you trying to take me back to... wherever your from." Gigawatt took a small cautious step towards the pegasus. "I don't want to." The pegasus looked back to Gigawatt. "I would have even come with you if I could have." "Then why?" "Its complicated." Blizzard lifted one of her hooves and stared intensely into Gigawatts eyes. "How's it compli..." before Gigawatt could finish his sentence he felt something very hard slam across the side of his head. Stumbling backwards and reflexively clutching the point of impact with his hoof, Gigawatt frantically searched for whatever had hit him. As he searched he noticed that blizzard was no longer where she had been. 'where?' Gigawatt thought to himself. A second impact to his side, this one much stronger than the first, sent him into the wall of the hallway he had stumbled into. Falling to the floor Gigawatt now saw that Blizzard was standing beside the spot he had just been, facing the opposite direction and lowering her back hooves to the floor. 'Oh, now i see." "Come on Gigawatt," blizzard turned and approached the the downed unicorn, "I'm bringing you back to her now." "You just punched me in the face and kicked me into a wall!" Gigawatt yelled in the pegasai's face at such a loud volume it caused her to flinch briefly. "If you expect me to go anywhere with you, your sorely mistaken." "Heh, you make it sound like you have a choice." The pegasus grinned in amusment. Raising her hoof she prepared to strike the unicorn again. Suddenly the pegasus was struck by a magenta bolt of energy, sending the mare flying sideways. "Leave him alone" A voice rang out. Looking back down the hallway and into the lobby gigawatt spotted a purple unicorn struggling to stay upright, slowly making her way to gigawatts side. "Are you alright?" The unicorn asked as she reached him. "Yeah, I'm fine." Gigawatt replied as he got on his hooves. "Thanks for the save." "Your welcome." The purple mare smiled. "Why you little," Blizzard glared at the purple unicorn as she regained her footing. "Listen girl, you and your friends got lucky that gigawatt here decided to show up before you all became frozen treats for timberwolves. Now if your smart you'll lay back down and shut up before you get yourself hurt." Turning back to Gigawatt the pegasais glare turned into a full fleged look of rage. "As for you, your coming with me whether you like it or not." The purple unicorn stepped between the pegasus and the stallion. "If you want him your going to have to go through me first." She stated trying to look less exhausted than she actually was. "Hey, your injured, you don't have to do this." Gigawatt told the purple unicorn in front of him. "I'm fine." The unicorn lied. "Besides i want to help you. If I've learned anything during these years I've lived here in ponyville, its to always support and take care of those you care about. And even though we still don't know each other, I cant just stand by while your in trouble." "Oh really?" Blizzard cocked an eyebrow. "Then tell me, why exactly are you defending him. You know nothing about him, yet your still ready to protect him from me." The purple unicorn faltered. "W-well, uh, y-you see." The unicorn stuttered a deep crimson appearing across her muzzle. Shaking her head as she tried to get rid of the blush on her face and regain her previous  determination. "Its just that Your trying to harm a innocent pony and I'm not going to let that happen." "That's not all it is, is it?" Blizzard smiled devilishly at the unicorn. "I don't know what your getting at." The unicorn glared at the pegasus. "I'm just trying to do the right thing." "Oh don't try to hide the fact that you where blushing a moment ago. You like him don't you." "Wait, what?" Gigawatts eyes widened as he looked towards the unicorn beside him. A new streak of blush was now visible across the mares face as she smiled sheepishly at him. "Really?" He asked her curiously. She answered with a simple nod of her head as she tried to avoid eye contact with him out of embarrassment. Closing his eyes Gigawatt smiled to himself. She was kind of cute. "So what if she likes me. Its not a bad thing, and in my honest opinion its better to be liked by a mare who wants to help me than being attacked by some random mare who wants to drag me to god knows where." He started as he moved to the other unicorns side. Opening his eyes once more they where now a soft magenta, not unlike the mares that stood beside him. "I think I'd like to stay here instead." "Your eyes." Blizzard said wide eyed. "Y-you synced. YOU SYNCED WITH HER!" "Synced? What does that mean?" The purple unicorn puzzled looking up at the stallion beside her. Unfortunately Gigawatt looked as confused as she did. It was then that she noticed the shift in his eye color. "Wait how did your eyes do that?" "That sync was mine," Blizzard muttered under her breath just loud enough for the two unicorns to hear. "It was supposed to be me. she promised me." The pegasai grew louder. "Now I'll never be able to sync with him. All because that unicorn stole it away." The pegasus then started to move slowly to the pair in front of her, starting to look somewhat psychotic. "Taking Giggy back can wait. I have a pretty purple unicorn to kill." with that the pegasus launched herself towards the lavender mare. "Your mine twilight!" She cried. 'Twilight' lowered her head and snapped of a quick shot of magical energy to ward of the incoming pegasus, who nimbly sidestepped the magenta energy with ease. She continued to fire at the pegasus, who each time proved to be to fast for the unicorn to hit grew closer and closer. At two meters the pegesus jumped hard to the left as she dodged another bolt of magic, putting Gigawatt in between her and the purple unicorn preventing any more shots being fired off. The pegasus crouched low and extended her hoof out to the side as a thick icicle materialized out of nowhere and enveloped her hoof, the icicle growing to about six inches. The pegasus then shot out her back legs as she jumped over the stallion at the purple mare on the other side. Below her Gigawatt instictively swung the lower half of his body in to the air to slam his tail into the pegasus above him. As his tail came into contact with her body a burst of electricity blasted out of it, sending the mare flying into the ground. Just before hitting the floor Blizzard righted her self and landed on her hooves (minus the one that had the icicle attached) and spun around to face her opponents. completing her spin she was met by a flurry of yellow bolts of electrified magic. ducking and weaving, blizzard dodged the bolts flying at her as they came within inches of her body. As she maneuvered she was eventually caught in the face by a stray bolt, causing her to flip onto her back and smash her icicle on the ground. Landing on her broken wing she let out a pained yelp and quickly righted herself to take the weight off of it and found herself facing Gigawatt's brown hind hooves. Quickly ducking she dodged the piston-like movement aimed at her face causing Gigawatt to slightly lose his balance. Taking advantage of the stallions balance being off-center, Blizzard placed her weight on one of her front legs and spun her body in a low windmill like motion as she attempted to trip the unicorn in front of her. The stallion barrel rolled to the side as the mares hooves swept below him and a bolt of purple energy flew past him and into the pegasais side. The pegasus let a small squeak escape her lips as she flew backwards into a wall and slumped to the floor. Getting her hooves under her, blizzard attemted to rise before releasing a shriek of pain and falling back to the floor cluthing her side. Walking up to the pegasus, Gigawatt pointed his horn at the mare as she tried to get up once more. "It would be best if you stayed down." He warned, his now purple eyes staring into hers. The pegasus let out a defeated sigh before she closed her eyes and stopped struggling to get back up. Satisfied that he had convinced her to give up he rose his head and turned to look at the purple unicorn standing several meters behind him. "Your name is Twilight right?" He asked. The unicorn nodded. "Are you alright?" "I'm fine." She replied, wincing as she tested an area of her body that had ice on it. "At least I should be once I thaw this ice off of me. How about you?" "I'm okay, but this hospital gown is kind of itchy." He scratched at his chest with his hoof before gesturing behind the mare with a nod. "What about your friends?" Looking behind her, Twilight saw her three other friends looking her and Gigawats direction in awe as Doctor Stable, Nurse Redheart, and a few other nurses tended to there wounds. "AJ, hows everypony doing?" Twilght hollered. "Were all fine'n dandy Twi." An orange earth pony responded. "Though Pinkie did get it worse than the rest of us, but she should be okay after the ice on her melts." Gigawatt observed the earth pony for a few moments. She was wearing a brown stetson hat atop her blond mane which had a red band to keep it together near the bottom of it, and her tail was done up the same way as her mane was. Her eyes were a light emerald green and she had a set of freckles underneath them. On her flank she sported a trio of red apple markings. Looking around at the rest of the pony's he noticed that they all had markings of their own emblazoned on their flanks as well. The white unicorn within the group had a trio of diamonds on her while the pink earth pony sported a trio of balloons. Looking back at twilight he saw that she had a six pointed magenta star surrounded by five other smaller white stars. Curious Gigawatt looked back at his own flank and pulled his hospital gown forward a bit. Expecting a marking of his own to be there, he was surprised to find out that he didn't have one. 'And I don't have one why?' Gigawatt asked himself. 'Meh, Whatever, they cant be that important.' Looking back at the purple unicorn he yelped and jumped back when instead he was met with the face of a pink mare right in his. "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie!" She basically yelled into the stallions face. "Your new in ponyville right because I know everypony in ponyville but I don't know you so that must mean that your new and that means that I have to throw you a welcome to ponville party which means I have to get balloons and streamers and games and music and cupcakes oh I love cupcakes there my favorite type of food do you like cupcakes what am i talking about of course you do everypony likes cupcakes there so good but normal cakes are good to because there just like big cupcakes but there's icing all over them instead of just the top but cupcakes are still my favorite because there small and easy to bring with you they also..." "Yeah enough of this." Gigawatt said aloud as he quickly stuffed his hoof into the pink pony,s rapid fire mouth. Looking over Pinkie Pie he saw that she had spots of ice all over her body and one exceptionally large one on her side. "Shouldn't you have the doctors look over you?" He asked the muffled mare. "Oh yeah." The pink pony somehow said through gigawatts hoof perfectly as if it wasnt even there at all. Turning back towards the doctors pinkie walked off over to them. Half way to them she stopped and her tail started violently twitching for a second before her ears started to flop about. looking down at her hoof she frowned before turning back to Gigawatt wide eyed. "Watch out!" the pink mare yelled "What?" gigawatt raised his eyebrows. suddenly something in the back of his mind told him to move, and to do it quickly. Jumping towards the wall he was close to he found saw blizzard slam down into the ground where he had been just moments before, leaving cracks in the floor. looking at her face he noticed she was glaring at him, though it seemed more desperate than angry. 'How come no one but the pink one noticed that she moved? And she wasn't even looking over here.' He thought. Deciding to not let the pegasus get the upper hand he planted all four of his hooves on the wall he was moving towards as he landed on it instead of the floor, the wall giving just the tiniest bit as his weight pressed into it. He then launched himself back the way he had come as fast as he could straight at the white mare and tackled her to the ground. Sitting on top of her he pressed his front hooves against her upper forelegs as she struggled to get away from him. "Settle down." Gigawatt ordered even though he guessed she probably wouldn't listen. "Make me!" She yelled, it almost sounding like a plea. "Suit yourself." Gigawatt closed his eyes as his horn glowed to life. Instead of channeling his magic straight out of his horn he concentrated it in his front hooves and expelled it straight into the pegasus in the form of electricity. She screamed in torment as the electrical current coursed its way through her body until eventually she fell silent and fainted. Canceling the spell Gigawatt slowly rose from the limp body of the mare which occasionally twitched as excess electricity pulsed through her body. "G-Gigawatt." A voice stuttered from behind the stallion. Looking back he saw twilight cautiously approach him as if unsure whether it was safe or not. "Di-did you. Is... She..?" "Shes not dead." Gigawatt explained trying to calm the mare. "I only used enough electricity to knock her unconscious." Twilight gave a relived exhale. "That's good. For a second there I thought you..." "Whewy, let me tell ya, that was somthin else." The orange earth pony, now wrapped in bandages that smelled heavily of antiseptics, called out from behind Twilight as she approached the unicorn duo. "Ah ain't seen no unicorn move that fast before in mah life. That was truly amazin." "Thanks, but i don't think i should be congratulated for hurting someone." Gigawatt scratched the back of his head. "Normally ah'd agree with ya, but if ya hadn't done what ya did, Twi here could have been seriously hurt or worse, and for that ya'll have mah sincere thanks." The orange earth pony held out her hoof. "By the way, the names Applejack." The stallion gave the earth pony a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you applejack." Gigawatt rose his hoof to hers. As soon as the two pony,s hoofs connected a loud cracking sound filled their ears and they retracted their hooves back to their body's. Gigawatt curiously inspected his hoof trying to figure out if that noise had come from him. "What in the wide wide world of Equestria?" Twilight looked at gigawatt. Or a least he thought she was looking at him until he heard the cracking sound continuing from behind him where Blizzard lay unconscious. Looking back at the unconscious pegasus behind him, he saw a black ring around one of her forelegs flickering in and out of existence, the cracking sound accompanying it whenever it showed itself. Flickering for a few more seconds before a louder crack was heard, it burst into a pile of black dust that pooled itself onto either side of the pegasai's leg. "What was that?" Applejack asked looking to both Twilight and Gigawatt for answers. "I'm not really sure." Twilight moved a little closer to the dust pile her horn enveloping itself in a magenta glow. "Whatever it was i can sense that there were a couple of spells placed on it. The fist one was a simple illusion spell meant to make it invisible. The second one is way more complicated, though it feels strangely familiar, almost like..." Twilight abruptly brought her head back up, her eyes as wide as dinner plates. "It feels almost exactly the same as the spell that the changeling queen used on my brother to control him!" "Twi, do you think that this mare was being controlled to do this against her own will?" Applejack turned to the purple unicorn. "That's the most likely conclusion AJ." Twilght sat back on her haunches. "I mean, looking back on it some of her behavior did seem a little strange. Like when she kept saying she or her. it was like she was being prevented from saying somepony's name." "Do you think this Changling Queen could have somthing to do with this?" Gigawatt asked tying to be helpful to the conversation. "Its possible but unlikely." Twilight replied. "But ya'll just said it was the same spell that was used your brother." Applejack stated. "I said its was similar to the spell she used on my brother, Its not the same." Twilight explained. "If you remember AJ, Changlings are creatures that have to feed off of love to survive right." Applejack nodded. "Well they have to use the love they collect to energize the spells they use. This leaves a trace of love energy whenever they use a spell. When I identified the magic residue in the dust, neither of the spells had any trace of love energy at all." "So then if it wasn't Queen Chrysalis, who was it?" Applejack asked. "Well have to wait for her to wake up and tell us." Twilight gestured at the white pegasus on the floor in front of them. "Until then I think I should inform the princess about what happened here tonight. I'm going to need to go and get spike." "Your not going any where Ms. Sparkle." Someone said from behind them. Gigawatt whipped around an lit his horn, ready to defend the unicorn beside her. Gigawatt now found himself with his horn inches from one of the hospitals doctors muzzle, wide eyed in surprised. Realizing who the pony was Gigawatt let his horns glow fade and rose his head embarrassed. "Heheh, sorry about that, I guess I'm still a little jumpy after what just happened." Gigawatt gave a nervous chuckle. "Its quite aliright Gigawatt." The doctor gave the brown unicorn a warm smile. "I imagine anypony would be like that after what you just went through." "Hello Doctor Stable, is there somthing you wanted?" Twilight turned to face the newcomer. "I was just about to leave so you'll have to make it quick." "Ms. Sparkle, I would advise you not to leave the hospital until we have treated your wounds. Once you have been treated you'll be free to go wherever you feel, but until then i ask that you remain here." Twilight looked like she was about to argue with the doctor but the she thought better of it. "I guess you have a point. I'll just ask Fluttershy took go and get spike for me seeing that shes the only one who didn't get hurt." "Good, now if you'll just follow me we can get you all fixed up." Doctor stable turned to Gigawatt. "After I'm done with Ms. Sparkle here i would like to look you over to make sure none of your wounds opened back up while you where fighting." "Um, sounds good to me i guess." Gigawatt raised an eyebrow. 'I didn't even know i was injured.' He thought to himself. the doctor moved off down the hall to the lobby where a few carts of medical supplies had been moved for treatment of the mares who had been attacked. Gigawatt  was about to follow when he remembered about Blizzard. "what about her?" He motioned to the pegasus. "She should be treated as well. It wasn't actually her fault that she attacked us." Doctor Stable motioned to a pair of nurses who made their way to the unconscious pegasus that was laying on the floor and brought her into one of the many rooms along the hallway. The doctor then continued down the hallway towards the lobby and Gigawatt followed. When they reached the carts the doctor and a few nurses wasted no time in melting the ice off of Twilight with warm water, which surprisingly took an entire fourty-five minutes to entirely get rid of. They then proceeded to wrap bandages with antiseptic medicine around her affected areas. As the bandages were being placed on her, Doctor Stable left the group and started to check over Gigawatt for injury's. "So doc," Gigawatt watched the doctor as he went over his body. "You said that i had some kind of injury's already. What kind of injury's and where exactly?" "You were inflicted with several deep lacerations along the upper part of your left foreleg and your back." The doctor stated as he gently pressed his hoof against the bruise on the side of Gigawatts head. Gigawatt winced slightly as the flesh was touched. Doctor Stable took note of the stallions reaction and continued to look him over. "Your lucky that none of them got infected, considering how you were found." "And how was i found?" "Ms. Sparkle found you in the rain outside of Miss Rarity's boutique after a bolt of electricity struck the ground." 'Well that doesn't seem normal' Gigawatt thought to himself "Who's Miss Rarity?" He asked "The white unicorn with the purple mane." Doctor stable motioned behind Gigawatt as he went around to the stallions back and started to untie the hospital gown. "She's the towns most successful seamstress and has designed dresses for famous ponys like Hoity Toity and Sapphire Shores." The doctor started to pull at the strings a little harder with his teeth. Looking over his shoulder, Gigawatt saw the white unicorn the doctor had been talking about. She was sitting beside Twilight, Pinkie pie, and Applejack chatting idly with the three mares as Twilight was being bandaged up by the nurses. He then noticed that Doctor Stable seemed to be struggling with the gown. "Having difficulties doc?" He grinned. "Sorry." he grunted. "Honestly, I cant for the life of me figure out why they put strings on these things instead of hooks or have them button up at the front." "Probably has to do with something about comfort. I know I wouldn't want to be laying on top of metal hooks or plastic buttons. It sounds uncomfortable." gigawatt lit his horn with yellow light. "Want some help?" "Be my guest." Griping the stings with his magic, Gigawatt pulled them until they came undone and let the gown fall to the floor. The air rolling across his body was a welcome change to the itchiness that the gown had been causing, though the itching had stopped about twenty minutes prior. Curious about his wounds he looked down to his foreleg as as he would be able to see those ones better than the ones on his back. When he saw his leg he was confused. Looking back at Doctor Stable he saw that he wore an expression of confusion as well. "Doc, I thought you said that I was injured." Gigawatt asked "You were." The doctor looked at Gigawatt in disbelief. "Then where did my injury's go?"
