Sapphire Shores came in today, and she looks like she’s seen better days. Apparently she wrote a strongly worded letter to the record label head? I wouldn’t know, but I did here her marefriend broke up with her or something. Sucks for her, I guess. But she’s still in here looking like she’s ready to murder everypony in the room

I got myself a nice cup of coffee. Sapphire doesn’t look any better. She’s coaching the session guitarist on something— she wanted an electric guitarist this time. Weird

Well, first take of the song sounded good. Can probably use that later in the mix

I have never ever heard her use a guitar solo, much less one so dissonant. What is going on with her today

Drummer’s getting in. Seems to want very little drum programming here, of course I’ll retime everything in post. I’m sure the rest of the instruments will be fine

Rest of the instruments went on without a hitch. Sapphire just came in to monitor the mix a little, with just a little murderous intent. She seems pushier today, she has a very clear idea for what this song is supposed to be and I don’t see how it’s going to be a hit. It’s angry, it’s spiteful, she sounds a second away from hysterical crying. Do filles like this now? I mean I’ve heard of ‘emo’ but this is ridiculous
