Gentle Kicks
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterFluttershy nudged the wilting flower with her muzzle. This earned her a petal on the ground. Fluttershy tried to hold back tears. She had tried everything to keep it healthy, and, yet, it still stood droopy and dying. Fluttershy sighed. "I can't do anything right."
Big Macintosh could feel a throbbing ache in his hooves. He popped down under a tree, rubbing his sore back hooves and observing the work he had done... about 40 trees... in 40 hours. "Goddamn it! This is too slow!" Big Macintosh sighed. "I can't do anything right."
"... and that's why I'm so upset... um... Rainbow?" Fluttershy nudged Rainbow Dash awake.
"Hunh...? Oh, right, Fluttershy. Just buy a pie from Sweet Apple Acres. Sweets make everything right. Now, quit bugging me."
Fluttershy began to fly towards her house. A pie? Rainbow Dash obviously hadn't listened to a word she had said. But, while it wouldn/t make things right, a pie sure would mack her feel better. Fluttershy switched directions, heading towards Sweet Apple Acres.
"Ah jus don't know what I'm gonna do, Granny! ...Granny?" Big Mac tapped Granny Smith's wrinkled head with his hoof.
"Hu- Wha? Oh, sorry dearie. You know, my ma and pa got me a puppy once. You should get a puppy. Applejack's little yellow friend has some." Big Mac scratched his head. "Fluttershy?" Granny Smith nodded. "Yes, Flittershut sounds about right.... wha?" Big Mac sighed and stepped outside. Had Granny even listened to him? He figured she hadn't. However, a dog would probably listen to every word that he had to say, even if Big Mac wasn't a big talker. It was just a trot to Fluttershy's house, after all.
Two ponies, on an intersecting path, would soon be on common ground.
