Chapter 3: Hello Again

Previous Chapter

The idea of there being mobs here instantly reached into my mind. I thought of what could have made that cut. A sword, perhaps a claw... maybe some teeth, perhaps an arrow. The answers were limitless to what could have happened. I looked to Jones. He nodded, already drawing his sword from where it was sheathed. But what came into the room from that door would never, ever harm anyone, or anything for that matter.

Standing right there in front of me, his hand holding onto a black, ash-crisped head of a skeleton, was my first friend from my home world. Skyscreamer. He looked strange without his normal diamond armor on...

"I'd never have expected ye ta make a portal to a dimension with crazy shapes and sheepish creatures," He began automatically, "but yet ye did it anyways. Now look at what happened, ye bugger."

Jonesxlr looked up, rubbing his red, pain-filled face, "Wha...?"

Skyscreamer looked irritated. He helped up the wither skeleton skull, "Ye bleedin' idiot! Ye caused 'em baddies ta start runnin' inta this place. What th' bloody 'ell is wrong with ye?"

Zecora looked at Skyscreamer, just finishing wrapping a bandage around Rainbow's wing, "I do not understand, There are monsters in our land?"

Skyscreamer nodded, "Ye might as well jus' start craftin' a ton of weapons and arrows, for 'em buggers don' just let ye live, they ain't the peaceful kind."

I shuffled my hands together. We made creatures start spawning in this world... By Notch, what else is going to happen? What have we created...?

"How do we stop it?"

Skyscreamer looked at me, "Thas the spirit, ye bloody ol' bugger. We need ta' deal with all of 'em back in our own world, so non' of 'em can 'eleport back and fourth."

I nodded. My eyes peered at Scootaloo, who was looking at me with a small sense of worry masking over her eyes. Sweetie Belle has a look of pure confusion, whilst Applebloom was staring at me with a frown. Pipsqueak was whispering something to Scootaloo, and Rainbow Dash was asleep again.

"So.... When are we gonna try ta do this?" I ask Skyscreamer, finally noticing the fact that he didn't actually have any type of weapon with him.

He looked right into my eyes, "Right now, ye buggers."

Elsewhere in the forest, the purple glow of the portal stops. A piece of the obsidian outline breaks off. A small grin can be seen just off to the right of the broken edge. A shadow darts across the opening, turning towards the direction where the travelers had gone. The sparkle of diamond armor was easily noticeable, just as was the sparkle of the diamond sword.

I felt Scootaloo nudge my leg. I turned to her, concern being the only feeling in my mind, "You don't have to come... me and Jones made this happen, we can stop it from happening."

She looked at me as if I was crazy, "Its a chance at an adventure. Something exciting. Nothing fun happens here anymore."

I paused and spun my full body around to face her. Sweetie Belle and Applebloom were nodding in support. I sighed, "Alright, but you could get seriously hurt. Still in?"

Scootaloo gave me one of those you-can't-be-serious looks.

"I'll take that as a yes," I said, grabbing the map from my pocket. I looked at it before noticing that we should have heard the portal by now, "Jones... we should have started hearing the portal by now..."

Jonesxlr glanced back at me, "You don't suppose it burnt out... do you?"

Portals normally don't burn out, but when they do its normally when none of the people who went through it have a flint and steel or a fire charge to relight it with. It basically just gets the people stuck there without any chance of getting out.

Horror nagged at my stomach, attempting to freeze it over. "You have a flint and steel, right?"

Jonesxlr sighed and shook his head, "You have a fire charge?"

My stomach was a hunk of ice. "Nope..."

Scootaloo peered up at me, "Why would you need those things...?"

Anger nagged at me for half a second before being replaced with understanding. She wasn't from my world, so she wouldn't know. "If the portal burnt out," I started slowly, "Then we would need to re-light it, which can only be done with a flint and steel or a fire charge."

She had a confused look on her face, "You can't just put an open flame next to it or anything...?"

I turned to Jonesxlr, and he shrugged. Honestly, we both had never tried. I glanced up ahead at Skyscreamer. He nodded, "Ye could always do tha', so long as if all th' pieces of th' portal are there."

A sigh of relief escaped right out of my mouth. The portal would still be there, just it would have burnt out. No real harm.

Skyscreamer suddenly interrupted my thoughts, "But, ah, we might have a bit of a problem.."

I peered around him to see the portal- with a big gap between two blocks of obsidian. I turned to the group of four creatures, "You may want to cover your ears for a second," they clamped their hooves over their ears, so I started the fully memorable rage phrase, "FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

"Oh, shut up ye bugger. That ain't gonna spawn 'sidian," Skyscreamer had an irritated look on his face. I did one of those I-know-I-did-it-but-I'm-still-innocent smiles. He sighed, "That ain't gonna get us the hell outta here."

I frowned and looked around the seemingly shrinking clearing, "Is it just me, or is this place getting darker...?"

Scootaloo peered up at me from underneath the over-sized leather cap Skyscreamer made her, "It's getting late, of course it's getting dark."

I chuckled softly, "Oh, I thought it got brighter at night," I glanced around at the shadows surrounding the clearing uneasily. Someone might be watching us, I thought. I grasped for my sword, finding it bigger than I remembered.

"Oh, ye stupid bugger. There ain't no stupid creatures walkin' 'round here." Skyscreamer comments while shoving a hand into his face.

I started to feel silly when I heard Pipsqueak's voice, "Then what is that thing..?"
