Not What I Meant by “True Love’s Kiss”
Author's Note
As I mentioned in the Long Description, this is my first fanfic and I have not written a story for myself in a long time, which means I am very rusty in writing fiction in general.
I also just returned to MLP only to find out it ended in 2019 with 9 seasons and that Generation 5 started in 2021 and ended earlier this 2024. (Oh yeah, and Pony Life exists in between.)

The Only Chapter
Ocellus was a bit nervous. And maybe embarrassed as well.
Here she is, with her friends, on the same spot they hung out when the School of Friendship unexpectedly shut down by a certain high-ranking pony. She sees all her friends lined up for something she is starting to regret doing.
"Are you gonna start?" Silverstream asked. "We're all ready on our end."
The changeling took a deep breath and turned to face them. "Okay, what I will do is to simply sample each of your love, but in a different way."
"What different way?" Now it's Smolder's turn to ask.
"It involves…" Ocellus started whispering "…kissing."
"What was that? Yona did not hear changeling." The yak said.
Gallus lightly ruffled his feathers. "Come on. Spit it out."
She tried again, but it was still soft. "It involves kissing."
"Come on! What are you—"
"I WILL KISS ALL OF YOU!" She realized what she screamed and held her hoof over her mouth. Everyone looked at her and all their cheeks went red.
Out of all their blushing, Ocellus was the deepest "Y-yes. I will sample each of your love by kissing each of you."
The rest were speechless, the boys and Smolder were covering their faces to hide their cheeks. Ocellus knew this was a bad idea. Then, one of them spoke up. "Can Yona go first?"
"Uh, Yona?" Sandbar finally spoke up. "Are you really on board with this?"
"Friend Ocellus wants love. So Yona give love by kissing." Her blush got deeper, but she made a small smile to the changeling.
Surprised, Ocellus decided to start her strange and weird...activity.
She approached Yona and before she started, she decided to transform first. Now Ocellus is a clone of Yona but with the changeling's color palette. "Okay. I will...uh." The yak nudged forward and slowly brought her lips to the palette-swapped clone.
The kiss was simple, with a little sucking from Ocellus. She was able to taste the yak's love: the flavor of something savory. Both of them broke the kiss and were blushing like mad.
"Did you like it?"
"Yona liked it," she giggled.
"Okay." She reverted back to her changeling body "Uh, who's next?"
Now Silverstream approached her, closed her eyes and immediately pursed her beak, but she wondered why she was kissing open air.
She opened her eyes and saw her walking backwards. "Sorry Silver. But I need to change first." She then changed into a hippogriff.
[Author: I cannot find a hippogriff Ocellus. So have a seapony Ocellus instead. lol]
For some reason, Silverstream felt attracted to her. "O-okay. Come here." She approached her.
The kiss lasted a bit longer than previously. The hippogriff and the changeling sucked each other's beaks, which are surprisingly not hard. Ocellus tasted her love, very sweet, but not as sweet as Pinkie Pie's.
They broke the kiss and Silverstream sat to catch her breath. "Do I taste good?" She asked Ocellus. "Your love tastes sweet like candy Silver." She was able to say.
Ocellus looked at the dragon. Said dragon probably knows she is next. So she stepped forward and she immediately saw the changeling shift into her dragon form. The same dragon form she used when they first met.
"Okay, it's just a kiss. Only my friends are watching and no one else." Smolder thought while looking behind her. She saw Silverstream and Yona looking relaxed. Possibly from having their love drained slightly, the boys were looking at each other, blushing even harder. She turned back to Ocellus and hesitantly pursed her lips to her. She felt Ocellus' lips touch hers and began to suck on it. Smolder closed her eyes and moaned on this kiss and began sucking the changeling-turned-dragon. She was lost in the sensation, enjoying this and for some reason, wanted it to last longer. She then felt the lips leave and she came back to her senses.
"H-how do I taste?" Ocellus heard Smolder ask. "Oh, Smolder. That was spicy. But not too spicy." She replied.
"Okay, it's the boys turn." They looked at Sandbar and Gallus. While they're still blushing after so long (nopony knows why it lasted that long), they give a small smile to her. "Uh, yeah. We're ready." The griffon said, taking a short glance to the earth pony, before leaving his spot. Smolder sat down, leaning on Yona. Gallus saw Ocellus shift into a griffon and went close to him.
Gallus cringed a bit after the transformation. Ocellus best guess is that he doesn't want to kiss Gabby but he pushed on anyways. He hesitantly closed his eyes and pursed his beak and felt another beak touch his.
She is not sure what is this strange mixture coming out of him. There was even a hint of something that tasted…romantic? Is there another way to describe it? Gallus grabbed her cheeks and pulled her towards him. Now she can fully taste the romance. She could only guess that Gallus is imagining himself kissing Silverstream. (Which she already knew since both of them are bad at hiding their feelings for each other.) Ocellus tried to break up the kiss but his grip was too tight for her. So she shifted back to her buggy form and Gallus noticed a change in texture. He opened his eyes, broke the kiss and lightly pushed her away, hiding his face.
After a few seconds, he let go of his face and looked at her "So, how was it?"
She leaned in and said to him "I know the taste of your love for Silverstream." She didn't even whisper as the rest of her friends heard it. "Come on dude. Just admit it." the earth pony said. Both the griffon and the hippogriff blushed really hard and Gallus immediately ran back to his spot, covering his face once again.
"Okay then." Sandbar said while standing up "Guess I'm last." As soon as she heard that, Ocellus shifted into a pony.
Sandbar's eyes widened. The changeling decided to try out a different pony form and surprised him with a unicorn form instead of her expected earth pony form. She then walked towards him.
When the kiss started, it was just like Yona's, a simple, light kiss. She can taste the sweetness and some romance that came from his love for the yak. She could describe it as a dessert after a full meal. The kiss ended and Sandbar licked his lips. He sat back down to his spot with a blush that has been there for a long time.
"Okay, That's everyone. Did all of you enjoy it?" She asked all her friends. All of them nodded. "That was cute Ocellus," Silverstream said while approaching Yona. "Yona like kissies!" The yak said as the hippogriff lied down beside her. Smolder then sat up "Maybe we can, uh…" She looked away "…do it again some other time?" She looked back at the bug-pony, gestured her to go nearer and when she did, whispered "Maybe just the two of us?" Ocellus didn't know what to respond. She can somehow sense some love coming from the dragon, but this love felt like—
"Uhh…I gotta…go…somewhere. far from here." Gallus grabbed Silverstream and flew away. "Well, I want to leave too, but I want to be with you guys a bit longer." Sandbar said as he also sat beside Yona.
"Well I’m glad that you enjoyed it. I was worried that—"
"We might not like it?" Smolder interjected. "Just look at us 'Cell. That was the best thing we just experienced." The dragon's blush came back. "There is nothing wrong with getting kisses."
The changeling saw her remaining friends, all snuggled up against each other using Yona as a pillow. Ocellus smiled and joined the cuddle pile.
