A Special Evening Together
One year has passed and it was the time of year for the most important event in Canterlot. The Grand Galloping Gala. In the castle ballroom, many guests were socializing as music played. Among the guests was Princess Twilight Sparkle wearing the same gown from her first Grand Galloping Gala. She was speaking to her fellow princesses when she felt another guest bump into her from behind causing her crown to drop to the floor. She kneels down to pick up her crown when her hand touches another hand. Recognizing the fur color of the hand she looks up and finds herself staring at the one pony she didn’t expect to see again… Flash Sentry. Twilight couldn’t help but blush upon seeing him again not since the summit at the Crystal Empire.
“Oh, uh good evening, Princess Twilight.” Flash greets. “I’m really sorry for bumping into you.”
“Oh, it’s no trouble, Flash.” Twilight replies putting her crown back on her head. “In fact, I believe this makes us even.”
“Makes us even?” Flash raises an eyebrow in confusion.
“Of course. After all, I kept bumping into you at the Crystal Empire during my first princess summit.” Twilight explained.
“Oh. Right. Now I remember. Although, I wasn’t upset about that. After all, they were just accidents.”
“Yeah.”
The young guard soon notices the other princesses and says, “Oh uh, your majesties.” He bows respectfully to the three monarchs who giggle.
“Hello to you too, young Sentry.” Princess Celestia replies nodding her head along with her sister Luna and niece Cadence. “I see you and Twilight we’re having a nice conversation just now.”
“Oh, uh actually I was just apologizing to Princess Twilight for bumping into her.”
“Oh, there’s no need to apologize, Flash Sentry.” Cadence replies. “In fact, Aunt Celestia, Aun Luna, we should leave these two alone.”
“I agree.” Celestia replied.
“Indeed.” Luna adds in agreement.
Soon, the three princesses begin walking away leaving Twilight and Flash all alone. The two turned back to each other and stood in complete silence, even blushing.
“So, uh Princess Twilight…” Flash says rubbing the back of his head.
“Oh no please, call me Twilight, Flash.” the princess kindly corrected.
“Very well, um, Twilight, would you like to dance?” Flash extends his hands to Twilight causing her cheeks to blush again, but she regains her composure and places her hands in Flash’s.
“Lead the way, Flash.”
The two ponies head out onto the dance floor past the other guests dancing. They soon find a spot on the dance floor where Twilight turns toward Flash who places his hand around the young princess's waist while Twilight places hers on Flash’s arm. The two begin dancing across the dance floor which didn’t go unnoticed by Twilight’s friends which was no surprise to them because they knew Twilight had a big crush on Flash after her return from the other world. Even Cadence could see it as well as she, Celestia, and Luna watch Twilight and Flash continue dancing as though it was just the two of them. Soon after dancing, Twilight and Flash get to know each other more, talking about their favorites too.
Time goes by and the Gala comes to an end as many of the guests start leaving.
“Looks like the gala’s over now.”
“Not yet, Flash. There’s one last thing to do before my friends and I return home.” Twilight replied.
“What’s that?”
Later at Joe’s Donuts…
“So, what do you think, Flash?” Twilight asked as Flash was eating one of the donuts.
“Mm… this is good.” he replies as he chews his donut then swallows. “I have to admit, Twilight tonight was really fun.”
“Yeah, I had fun, too. And I’m really glad you came, Flash.”
Twilight silently adjusts her hair while Fox uses a napkin to wipe the donut crumbs off his mouth. He takes a quick glance at Twilight and summons the courage to tell her his feelings.
“Twilight,” he says, getting the princesses attention. “I know this is going to sound somewhat crazy coming from me but ever since the Crystal Empire, I’ve had a feeling deep inside and I really want to tell you.” He takes a deep breath in and continues. “Twilight, I - “
Ring
Twilight and Flash turn and see a royal guard standing in the entrance. “I’m sorry to interrupt Princess but I’ve been sent to find you. Your carriage is ready and waiting.” he informed.
“Oh, um very well, then. You’re dismissed.” Twilight replies which the guard nods to and exits the shop. She turns back to Flash. “Sorry Flash but I need to go. My friends are probably waiting.”
“Oh, it’s no problem. I understand. I’ll escort you back.” The two stand up then exit the donut shop.
Minutes later, Twilight and Flash were now in front of the carriage she and her friends first arrived in.
“Thank you again, Flash. I really had a fun time tonight.” she said.
“Of course. Have a safe ride back to Ponyville, your majesty.” he replies.
Twilight begins climbing into the carriage while Flash makes his way back to the castle. But Twilight stops halfway then looks over her shoulder and sees Flash making his way to the castle. Her horn flares up and she teleports off the carriage then reappears in front of Flash causing him to stop where he stood. At that moment, Twilight immediately presses her muzzle into Flash's, causing him to be surprised but he relaxes and wraps his arms around his waist while Twilight places her hands around his neck. Back in the carriage, all of Twilight’s friends were excited as they watched her and Flash kiss.
Eventually, Flash and Twilight separate from each other and Twilight teleports back to the carriage. She waves to Flash, then climbs in. Spike closes the door behind them and climbs up to the driver's seat of the carriage. Soon enough, the carriage pulls away and heads back to Ponyville while Flash continues walking to the castle.

Hello everyone, thank you for reading my new story and also, I apologize for it being too short, but it was my first time doing a Flashlight story so, please don't be overly critical with the story. Also, I may do another Flashlight story where Twilight and Flash spend some quality time together and I don't want to spoil anything, but it will be romantic.
