This day is going to be horrible
Chrysalis walked up to the mirror while she lifted a rose with her magic.
"This day is going to be perfect, the kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small. Everypony will gather round, say I look lovely in my gown. What they don't know is that I have fooled them all." Chrysalis sung, until she suddenly yelped in pain as she realized she impaled her head with a rose.
"What was I thinking?" Chrysalis muttered to herself as she removed the rose, she was lucky changeling hides weren't as penetrable as ponies. Otherwise, she would have met her end then and there.
However, she was caught off guard when the mannequins she lifted with her magic fell on top of her.
"Of all the worst inconveniences I've ever-" Chrysalis was muttering to herself until somepony barged into her room.
"Mi Amore! I was just checking to see if your wedding dress was rea-" Cadance's wedding planner was about to speak, until she saw her covered in the mannequins.
"Oh dear, you know can't be careless when preparing for your wedding dear." She stated, as she lifted the mannequins back up with her horn.
"Right, thank you for your assistance, but if you mind I'd like to be alone before my big day." "Cadance" told the unicorn.
"Well, I just came to see if your dress was ready to be seen by your groom. You know you have to look gorgeous in front of hundreds of ponies." The assistant stated.
"Hmm, looks pretty good so far..... Eh, where did that bruise mark come from?!" The unicorn gasped, as she saw the bruise "Cadance" made with the rose.
"Oh, that? That was an accident, a minor fracture. I can have it healed before the wedding." "Cadance" reassured.
"Are you sure? What would Shining Armor think?! To see his bride with a bleeding head?!" The unicorn worried.
"Trust me, he won't! And I'll make sure that doesn't happen again! I suggest you get rid of this rose, it's a health hazard for any bride to be." "Cadance" told the planner.
"Wha- why? Are you saying that that rose is the cause for your injury? What did you do with it?" The unicorn asked.
"Nothing! Just, please, take it." "Cadance" pleaded.
"Ok.............." She took the rose and left "Cadance" to continue getting ready.
Meanwhile, Chrysalis merely changed her appearance to discard the blood mark on her head.
"It's the last time I place ANYTHING on my head other then my crown." Chrysalis grumbled to herself.
Meanwhile........
Cadance was running with Twilight beneath the caves racing to get back to the surface.
"This day was going to be perfect, the kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small. But instead of having cake, with all my friends to celebrate my wedding bells they may not ring for me at all........" Cadance lamented, as she stared into her reflection as Twilight watched.
"Well, they certainly won't if we just stand here looking at crystals." Twilight stated.
"Can't you see that I'm depressed Twilight? I'm doing some self reflection........" Cadance told the foal she sat for.
"Yes, but time is not on our side! We need to get back to the wedding before my brother marries an imposter!" Twilight beckoned.
"He won't! I'll make sure of it! Just please let me self reflect! I'm almost done!" Cadance snapped at Twilight, causing her to step back and allow Cadance to self reflect.
Cadance took a deep breath. "I'm done." Cadance conformed, before she left with Twilight to find a way out.
"So....... How can somepony look exactly like somepony else? Who is this imposter and why do they want Shining Armor for themselves?" Twilight asked Cadance.
"First of all, they're not a pony. It's a changeling." Cadance explained.
"A what?" Twilight was confused.
"The creature that replaced me is a changeling, they are creatures that take the form of somepony you love and feed on that love for energy." Cadance told Twilight.
"But........ how can they feed off of something that doesn't physically exist?" Twilight asked.
"What?" Cadance didn't understand.
"Love is an emotion, a chemical that responds to affection. It exists only in the brain, how can something eat a reaction that happens in the mind? The only way that it could feed off of it is if............. IS SHE GOING TO EAT MY BROTHER?!" Twilight gasped in shock.
"What?! NO! She's not going to eat him!" Cadance yelled.
"Then what is she going to do?!" Twilight panicked.
"Listen! It's sort of a magical process! The pony feels affection for the thing the changeling is impersonating, then it drains the pony of that energy through magic, and that's how it feeds." Cadance explained to Twilight.
"When it feeds off a ponies love, it drains them of their magic, and their energy until they're a shell of their former selves." Cadance finished.
"Oh....... Well then we better hurry! I don't want my brother to turn into a zombie!" Twilight worried.
"Yeah, I guess that's one way of putting it..........." Cadance stated.
Meanwhile........
Chrysalis paced in her room.
"I could care less, about the dress I won't partake in any cake. Vows? I'll be lying when I say. That through any kind of weather I'll want us to be together, the truth is I don't care for him at all! No I do not love the groom in my heart there is no room! But I still want him to be, all mine!" Chrysalis sung, until suddenly her door opened again.
"What is all this racket?!" The wedding planner asked.
"Oh, I'm so sorry I guess I'm just really excited for the wedding?" "Cadance" tried to look for a good excuse.
"Well that certainly doesn't explain-" The unicorn was about to speak until she saw the knocked over bowl of apples on the floor.
..........................................
"Miss?" "Cadance" spoke up, worried..........
"........................ Did you knock, over, my, apples?.........." The unicorn asked, visibly ticked off.
"I'm terribly sorry miss........." "Cadance" "Sincerely" apologized.
"You should be madam.................. These apples.......... were hoof picked, by me, for the wedding guests! After the wedding, ponies would be able to eat these apples to celebrate the ceremony! But YOU, KNOCKED, THEM OVER! And now they won't be able to devour these delicious apples! Because YOU, SOILED THEM!" The unicorn yelled, emotionally in turmoil over what "Cadance" did, until she noticed the other mess on the floor.
"And not only that! But you destroyed one of the groom's sample top hats! These were a test to see if Shining Armor would fit in or like it! But now I guess we'll never know! Because YOU thought it was a good idea to VAPORIZE IT!" The assistant lashed out.
Chrysalis was surprised by this ponies emotional unbalance. She had upset many creatures over the years while impersonating something else, but she never upset someone like this before.
"Miss, please calm down! It's not the end of the world!" "Cadance" reassured.
"Well, I hope you're happy with yourself Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! You've ruined the wedding for everypony else! So while you have your honeymoon with your soon to be husband, just remember the lives you ruined by destroying the things that mattered to them, especially MY LIFE!" The unicorn hammed it up with her emotional outburst, until she caught a glimpse of "Cadance's" cutie mark under her dress, and noticed the heart was pink, and not crystal blue.........
"Umm...... Was your cutie mark always pink dear?..... I could have sworn it was blue........." The assistant took notice.
"Hmm? Oh, that...... I don't know what you're talking about! You must be colorblind! But I am terribly sorry for the mess. No hard feelings?" "Cadance" asked, as she raised her hoof to shake on it. But the mare simply scoffed and left the room.
"Pfft, she has problems." Chrysalis stated, as she changed her cutie mark to a crystal blue like Cadance's.
"That was close, I could've been found out. But the wedding is almost here, I just need to act natural until the time is right....." Chrysalis schemed as she laughed to herself.
Until suddenly, a speck of dust from the top hat she destroyed landed on her nose. And she let out a big sneeze from allergies.
"Confound this stupid wedding!" Chrysalis cursed to herself.
Meanwhile............
Cadance and Twilight were still trying to find a way out of the caves.
"So what are we gonna do when we confront this changeling?" Twilight asked Cadance.
"I................ don't know............ I'm hopping the ponies will believe us that I'm the real Cadance and banish the changeling." Cadance explained.
"But if feeding on Shining Armor's love gives her power, how are we going to stop her if she's stronger?" Twilight asked.
"Listen, all I care about right now is making it back to the wedding! I can't have Shining Armor marry that bug over me!" Cadance exclaimed.
"Changelings are bugs?" Twilight asked.
"Overgrown ones at that, they are kind of a mixture between a bug and a pony." Cadance explained.
"Weird." Twilight stated.
"I know!" Cadance agreed.
"Wait, I think I can see a way out of here!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Where?" Cadance asked.
Twilight pointed a hoof at the big twinkle of light at the top of a platform.
"Oh thank Celestia! Let's just hope it doesn't lead us to a dead end!" Cadance prayed.
"Yeah, let's hope." Twilight prayed as well.
Then, Cadance continued singing.
"We must escape before it's too late find a way to save the day! Hope, I'll be lying if I say. I don't fear that I may lose him to one who wants to use him, not care or love or cherish him each day! For I oh so love the groom all my thoughts he does consume. Oh, Shining Armor, I'll be there very soon!" Cadance sung, as she and Twilight rode on a minecart on a track, until it stopped.
They flew into the air while Twilight held onto Cadance, but she flew with her wings and glided to the platform.
Meanwhile.......
"Cadance" yelped in pain as the wedding planner harshly tied a loose seam in her wedding dress.
"Was that really necessary?" "Cadance" asked the unicorn.
"Wouldn't have it any other way. Now go, enjoy your wedding." The unicorn spat, as she left the bride to walk at the alter.
"Believe me I WILL." Chrysalis stated, as the doors opened while ponies played trumpets for the bride's entrance.
Chrysalis walked towards the alter while sporting a smug grin hidden from the ponies.
"Finally the moment has arrived. For me, to be one lucky bride." Chrysalis sung, as she walked atop the alter.
Cadance and Twilight landed on the platform, but saw that it was indeed, a dead end.
"Oh the wedding we won't make he'll end up marrying a fake! Shining Armor will be................." Cadance collapsed on the ground while Twilight stared at her in confusion..........
"............... He'll be what?..........." Twilight asked.
"........................... I.................... don't.......... know............" Cadance replied, causing Twilight to face hoof in annoyance.
"Mine, all mine. Heh he he he he."
