Dark Horse: A My Little Pony Story
Chapter 18: The End
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThree pairs of ponies sat in the garden, stargazing.
Savoir Fare wrapped his arm around Ginger Blush and pulled her in closer. Ginger blushed at the gesture, looking up at him and smiling. Nearby, Twilight Sparkle and Prose sat side by side, leaning into each other lovingly.
"What a night," Twilight commented.
"What a night," Prose repeated.
Not far away, Sombra sat with Chorus. As they faced each other, Chorus's pink eyes were met by Sombra's eyes of striking green. Pixie Dust's music flowed out from the event hall and into the garden, creating an enchanting night time atmosphere.
After Sombra had revived the statue ponies and dissolved the black crystals across the ballroom, the event was able to return to a frazzled normalcy. The ponies were able to convince Pixie Dust to re-perform her last song, and even add an encore. Princess Luna was finally able to remove the barrier around Canterlot, joining in on the festivities and thanking all the ponies responsible for reforming King Sombra. Princess Celestia also thanked the ponies, shocked to find out the real story of her arch nemesis. The gala continued on, the attendees sparking countless conversations about their brief encounters with the feared King Sombra. Everything worked out after all.
The three couples decided to go out into the garden to watch the stars, relaxing after their long night.
"Even after defeating one of Equestria's most feared villains, you still look beautiful," Savoir Fare whispered to Ginger Blush.
Ginger Blush shyly looked away, unsure of how to accept the compliment.
"How about this," Savoir said. "Nod for thank you, and shake your head if you want me to stop speaking."
Ginger Blush nodded her head and then laid it down onto her date's strong shoulders.
"See, I told you. You may have thought your specialty was with literature, but I'm thinking you may be better at helping ponies with deep-seated psychological issues that need to be saved from themselves," Twilight joked.
"That's one way to put it," Prose laughed. "And... thank you for your help back there. We couldn't have done it without you and your friends, seriously."
"Oh, please," Twilight scoffed. "You and your friends did all of the heavy lifting. We were just the backup."
"Don't downplay it, Twilight. We needed you, and you came through for us. Thank you," Prose graciously thanked.
Twilight smiled and pulled Prose in for a deep, warm hug.
"Chorus?" Sombra spoke.
"Yes?" Chorus responded.
"Thank you."
Chorus tilted his eyebrows upward, warmed by Sombra's words. He closed his eyes and leaned into Sombra, waiting for Sombra to do the same. Sombra closed his eyes and met Chorus's lips with his own.
The stars shined brightly above them, and the gala raged inside behind them. None of them knew what was next, but they knew this was surely a night to remember.
The End.
