…When one thinks of romance, what do they think of?

A quick fling? A romantic dinner? A night of passion?

All I know is… it's a whirlwind, and I forgot my wings…

Rainbow Dash was jogging at the gym; she was sweating as she was also lifting some dumbbells with her hands as she ran on the treadmill.

It’s been an hour, she paused the treadmill and panted.

“Whew, a new record,” Rainbow said with a smile as she stepped off of the treadmill.

“Now to get on over to the bars,” Rainbow then walked over to the barbell and set it up, right next to the one where Bulk was at.

“Hey, Rainbow! Lookin good today!” Bulk cheered.

Rainbow knew Bulk was just being polite, especially since he and Fluttershy became an item recently, he wouldn’t hit on another mare.

“Thanks, getting ready to pump some iron before hitting the showers,” Rainbow said.

“Been hitting the iron here for two whole hours! I’m looking forward to the next two,” Bulk laughed.

“Even you’ve got limits Bulk,” Rainbow warned.

“No limit can’t be broken! Speaking of which, let’s see that flex today!” Bulk said not stopping his weightlifting.

“Heh, alright,” Rainbow flexed her arm and a decently sized bulge of muscle popped up on her arms, she isn’t as bulky as AJ but she is known for her slim toned physique, including her abs.

“Alright! Now get a move on, that iron isn’t gonna pump itself!” Bulk said.

“Alright,” Rainbow chuckled and she lay down on the bench and began pumping iron just like Bulk.

“Say, Dash,” Bulk said.

“Yeah?” Rainbow replied.

“How’s fitting in with the Wonderbolts going, I’m still a trainee, but I heard you recently moved up a little in there,” Bulk said before he looked away suddenly.

“...Uh, yeah, good,” Rainbow said, looking a little morose all of a sudden.

“Mhmm?” Bulk hummed

“The guys like to do their own thing, me not so much, they like to hang out at the bar and meanwhile the mares of the team like to go off and do their own thing, I’m…. Not super included…” Rainbow said.

“Oh, they just haven’t gotten to know you yet, I’m sure when you show them what a fiery soul you are you’ll blow them away,” Bulk said.

“Wow, thanks,” Rainbow said, setting the barbell down and sitting up.

“Thanks, babe,” Bulk said.

“...Wha?” Rainbow heard that and turned to see Bulk on the phone while pumping with one arm.

“Oh… you were on the phone,” Rainbow sighed and she got up and walked off “Gonna hit the showers,” Rainbow said.

“Alright!” Bulk called after Rainbow as she was walking away.

While in the shower RD couldn’t help letting her mind wander back to the conversation.

‘Not super included’...

“Is it because I’m a girl?” Rainbow wondered “Or… because I like mares,”

Rainbow remembered when she mentioned that to her friends, they seemed okay with it, could that have been false?

Especially with who her crush is on…

Nopony would suspect it, but a certain mare had always captivated her with her beauty.

Rarity.

She was pretty, she was generous, and she took good care of herself… problem is she’s at least a hundred and one percent sure she’s into stallions…

But she could see why Spike drooled over her so much before he moved on to Sweetie Belle after Rarity sat him down for the talk.

But according to Twilight, there’s no actual way to turn a mare into a stallion.

And it’s not like she doesn’t like stallions, she just goes for mares more.

In the end, it is best to just continue her own way forward and become the best Wonderbolt ever.

After exiting the shower Rainbow stopped to admire herself in the mirror.

Certainly, among mares she’s quite the catch, the rainbow mane catches many eyes.

Her pretty rose-colored eyes, or how about her slim and sleek muscular body.

She’s no bodybuilder but she’s definitely got a figure that makes potential muggers think twice.

After getting dressed Rainbow flew out of the gym area and took to the skies.

Rainbow took a deep breath and sighed happily, she loved the open air, so free, so undetained. As Rainbow landed on a cloud and lay down she stared up into the sky.

Most would find themselves unable to do so for long, but Rainbow loved looking at the higher clouds and blue skies above.

As she lay there she imagined Rarity being there with her, but that wouldn’t be possible for three reasons.

One she’s afraid of heights, two she’s a unicorn, not a pegasus, three she’s always too busy.

Ah well, more time for her to get an afternoon nap in before hitting the bar.

Rainbow woke when she felt something land on her.

“Huh?” Rainbow said, glancing down at the paper that landed on her “Weird, did some trash blow up here?” Rainbow asked as she picked up the paper and examined it.

It was a message from Twilight asking her to come to the lab immediately.

“Oh, must be important if she ported it here,” Rainbow said before she got up, stretched out, and then flew down to the most obvious building in Ponyville.

The Castle of Friendship

After landing on the ground Rainbow entered and saw Twilight and Spike in the library sorting books.

“Hey egghead, aren’t you supposed to be in the lab?” Rainbow asked.

“Yeah, I was about to head that way, you're here early,” Twilight said.

“Hey, it’s what I do, so what do you need?” Rainbow asked.

“I… can’t really discuss it here, Spike, you can have the rest of the day off,” Twilight said.

“Alright! See ya!” Spike hurried out the door.

“Why does he need to be gone?” Rainbow asked.

“I have an unusual experiment I’ve been trying,” Twilight said walking to the lab with Rainbow behind her.

“What’s that?” Rainbow asked.

“I am trying to change a ponies tribe,” Twilight said as they went down the stairs.

“Huh? Seriously?” Rainbow said incredulously.

“Yes, it has been a study that has gone on since ancient times, but nopony found it out, I think I’ve cracked the code however, with Starlight and Sunset’s help, with three brilliant minds working as one we can crack any code!” Twilight said with determination.

“Oook? And how do I factor in this?” Rainbow asked.

“I need a pegasus to study next, so I can adjust the spell as such, I already practiced on a unicorn and nothing came of it, yet,” Twilight said.

“You sure? This isn’t going to make me wingless is it?” Rainbow asked.

“If I’m making you a unicorn or earth pony you're bound to be without wings, and before you ask, no I can’t make you an alicorn, that’s a step too far,” Twilight said as they arrived in the lab and walked in.

And Rainbow saw the last pony she was expecting.

“Rarity?” Rainbow asked.

“Hmm? Ah yes hello darling, I was just packing up to head home,” Rarity said.

“So… she was the unicorn you experimented on?” Rainbow asked.

“Yes, with consent of course,” Twilight said as she patted a chair “And with yours can I test part two of the experiment on you?” Twilight asked.

“Well...." Rainbow was nervous, usually, her experiments ended in trouble or somepony getting hurt, but then she felt a soft hand on hers and she turned to see Rarity.

"If you want I can stay and observe, if you are worried," Rarity offered.

"Oh! Um... sure!" Rainbow said without thinking.

"Alright, then let us move on," Rarity said as she went over to a counter and sat on it.

"Alright Rainbow, I need to study the possibility of wave functions and make sure the magical link is in place, also considering vectors and-" Twilight went off on a scientific rant.

"I do believe you lost her," Rarity said and Twilight saw Rainbow looking at her flatly.

"Oh... uh, basically get in the seat and I will analyze you," Twilight said.

"Ok," Rainbow said as she went over to the chair and sat down.

"Ok, and now we'll get to work on it, now put this on," Twilight held up a helmet with gizmos attached to it.

"What is that?" Rainbow said hesitantly.

"A transmitter, don't worry, you'll only feel a tingle," Twilight said.

"Said everpony who is about to electrocute somepony else," Rainbow sighed as Twilight slipped it on her.

Rainbow noticeably fidgeted around a little out of nervousness.

"Rainbow dear, calm down, it'll be alright," Rarity's soothing voice said as she walked over.

"Yeah, Rarity didn't even feel it, did you?" Twilight said.
"I... did feel it a bit, b-but you're much tougher than me Rainbow, you can handle it," Rarity defended.

"Not making me feel better," Rainbow said.

"Alright alright, just stay calm," Twilight said before heading over to a switch attached to a device next to Rainbow and pulling it.

"W-wait, on second thought I-" Rainbow was cut off when electricity struck her and she cried out, suddenly the machine the switch was attached to began beeping and sparking.

"Um, is it supposed to do that?" Rarity asked worriedly.

"No, it didn't with you? Rainbow!" Twilight tried to pull the switch back but it broke off.

"Oh no... RAINBOW!" Twilight tried to magically interfere, but she couldn't get the helmet off of the spasming pegasus.

"I'll save you!" Rarity said as she tried to manually force the helmet off.

"NO!" Twilight cried and soon Rarity was now being electrocuted herself.

"Shut off shut off!" Twilight had no choice but to shoot a magic blast at the machine and it blew up sending everypony flying.

Twilight got up groaning and looked up to see her friends lying on the ground.

"Rarity! Rainbow!" Twilight grunted getting up and hobbling over to them... only to pause with her mouth dropping wide open when she saw what happened to them.

Rarity's horn was gone.... and replaced by wings! She was a pegasus!

"Ugh... my head hurts," Rarity rubbed her head and suddenly found her horn was gone.

"Huh?...My horn... M-MY HORN! WHAT HAPPENED TO-" Rarity tried to get up and fell back down when she felt a weight on her back, looking behind she saw wings and cried out again.

"TWILIGHT!" Rarity screamed and looked to Twilight, only to see her gaze locked onto somepony else.

"What? Twilight I'm-... Rainbow! What-" Rarity turned to address her likely brain-dead friend... only to see something that shocked her, and she felt a small blush come onto her cheeks as Rainbow sat up.

"Agh... my... throat and head.... my voice is shot, what happened?" Rainbow asked looking up and seeing their bewildered expressions

"What?... Tell me I didn't lose my wings," Rainbow said worriedly.

"...Rainbow?... Your...." Twilight said before looking away with a slight blush.

"What? Tell me!" Rainbow pleaded.

"Look down," Twilight said.

"Huh?" Rainbow did so.....it took a few moments to process.......and then...

"AAAAAHHH!" A now male Rainbow screamed seeing his body was now completely different.

"Calm down, calm down, this was unforeseen, I can-" Twilight looked over and saw the wrecked machine "Oh yeah..." Twilight said.

"Turn me back!" Rainbow said standing and Twilight took a step back, he was at least half a foot taller than when he'd been a shorter mare.

"I can't the machine wrecked, it'll take weeks to fix," Twilight said.

"I'm stuck like this for weeks!?" Rainbow exclaimed.

"I'm afraid so," Twilight said grimly.

"Nonono! I have to... Rarity?" Rainbow turned and saw that Rarity was still staring at him.

"Equus to Rarity!" Rainbow said and Rarity finally snapped out of it.

"O-oh, sorry dearie, I don't know what came over me," Rarity said with a blush.

Rainbow found himself blushing too as he saw she was a Pegasus as well, the wings looked good on her.

"I'll get right to work on fixing you two, just... let me have a moment," Twilight said walking away.

"Well great... now I'm stuck as a stallion for a couple weeks," Rainbow said.

"I don't mind," Rarity said.

"What?" Rainbow looked at her.

"U-uh, what I mean is I don't mind making you a new outfit to fit your new body until you can return to normal I mean," Rarity hurriedly said.

"O-ok," Rainbow said.

After sneakily making their way back to Carousel Boutique, avoiding the public eye, Rarity and Rainbow made their way into the Boutique.

"Whew, good thing I didn't get caught, the last thing I want is to be a stallion in drag," Rainbow said.

"And these wings will take some getting used to," Rarity said.

"Alright, let's get a move on," Rainbow said.

"Alright, now normally Spike acts as my model but he isn't around at the moment and I currently lack the magic to send him a message," Rarity said.

"How good are you with your hands?" Rainbow asked.

"...." Rarity couldn't stop the perverse image in her head of him asking that while in bed.

"Rares!" Rainbow asked again.

"Oh! um, sorry what?" Rarity asked.

"How good are you with your hands at making clothes?" Rainbow asked.

"Just as good as with my magic, is there a certain style you are interested in?" Rarity asked.

"Something my style, duh, I'm thinking, maybe something similar to this but for males," Rainbow said.

"Ah, ok," Rarity said "I will have to get your.... measurements," Rarity said grabbing a tape measure.

"Um, alright," Rainbow stood straight.

"...I may need you to... take off your shirt," Rarity said.

"What? Why?" Rainbow asked.

"It is rather hard to get effective measurements with those torn clothes," Rarity said, hiding her eagerness.

"Alright, if you say so," Rainbow said proceeding to pull off his shirt, it was a tad difficult to do since it was so tight due to his new body size but he managed and once he was barechested Rarity went red in the face.

"What?" Rainbow said, blushing himself.

"I-It... is nothing," Rarity stuttered looking over his body... his sexy body...

"Ahem," Rainbow coughed awkwardly and Rarity realized she was staring.

"S-sorry, I'll get right to that," Rarity said as she began to measure his body up.

As she measured him she got to get closer to his muscular, adonis body, it made her breathe harder.

Rainbow began panting as well and her hands sometimes lingered too long on his rock-hard six-pack.

After the measurements, Rarity hurried back into the sowing room to avoid showing how aroused she was.

She really liked this new Rainbow, Rainbow was always a pretty mare, sometimes to the point she honestly felt a bit jealous of her.

But male Rainbow... was a hunk... she couldn't deny that...
As she went on to make the outfit Rainbow stood back there looking like he was struggling not to lose his cool.

"She seemed really flustered... I- does she... like this new form?" Rainbow said with some hope.

He then chose to turn and look at the mirror to see himself... and he was amazed.

He hasn't looked in a reflection since the shift and he's gotta admit, he wears this male body well, a perfectly toned and muscular body, a handsome face, and his mane was shorter but oddly fitting on him.

"Whoa.... I think I'm starting to see why..." Rainbow said, looking like he was in awe of the adonis before him, and he began to realize something...

He's always been struggling to fit in as a fiery mare... but as a stallion, his personality fits him more.

He... could go on like this!

And... his crush just so happens to be falling for him... looks like if there was a time to make a move it'd be now...

Eventually, Rarity exited the sowing room with a completed outfit.

"Alright darling, I suppose now you at least have a change of clothes here... Rainbow?" Rarity looked around for Rainbow but didn't see him "That's weird, where is he?" Rarity asked before spotting a post-it note on the stair railing.

"Hmm?" Rarity picked it up and read it.

'See you in the bedroom...' Rarity read and her face turned redder, what is she supposed to say to this? Does he think her some wanton trallop who will spread her legs because he asked her to?!

Why does she have half a mind to head upstairs right now and tell him off...

....Yes, that's what she'll do... right?

As she walked through the hallway to her room she couldn't help but wonder... NO! She is a refined mare who will handle this with dignity.

As she entered her room she looked around and saw the lights were off.

"Rainbow Dash, I have come to decline, I will not be made a fool of," Rarity said.

"Not Rainbow Dash... Rainbow Blitz," She heard his deep suave voice that sent a shiver through her, not an unpleasant one either.

"Wait... who?" Rarity asked before spotting a figure lying on the bed.

"That's what I'm going as from now on, it sounds more... masculine... wouldn't you say?" Rainbow said.

"Rainbow! Surely you aren't-"

"I wanted to turn back before, but... I think I'm starting to change my mind, I like being a stallion, especially, if it means we can be together," Rainbow said before lighting a bright candle, which somehow lit the other candles in the room.

"H-huh?" Rarity paused, her heart in her throat as she beheld Rainbow Da-Blitz lying on her bed, naked and lying on his side staring at her expectantly.

"O-oh..." Rarity said "R-Rainbow Dash d-does this mean-" Rarity stuttered.

"You bet... I felt this way about you for a long time Rares, I didn't act on it though because I was worried you wouldn't be interested in me, but now? I think you are," Rainbow said.

"W-what if I say no? I won't be taken advantage of!" Rarity said fighting with herself.

"Go ahead, say no and this stops, go on," Rainbow Blitz said getting up and walking over to her.

A small part of Rarity wanted to run.... the rest of her held her there as he approached.

"What do you say? Do you like this brash stallion? Will you be with him tonight?" Blitz asked.

"R-R-Rainbow..." Rarity said feeling herself heat up more as he reached forward and touched her cheek.

"I am serious, I won't stop you if you want to wait," Rainbow said "But I've wanted this since we met," Rainbow put his hands on her shoulders, gripping her dress.

"...." Rarity shut her eyes, her mind racing, but in the end... she realized....
She wanted this... deep down she's already submitted to his allure, he was brash and a tad arrogant, but he had a loyal and steeled heart, contained in a body that beckoned her own....

In the end, there was only one answer...

Rarity opened her eyes and saw the stallion staring at her with affection and she smiled.

"Do it..." She said.

"As you wish," Rainbow said before pulling her dress down and it fell to the floor, leaving her bare save for her underwear, Rarity immediately flung herself onto him and kissed him right on the lips.

She kissed him almost fiercely and ran her hands all over his muscular body.

He responded back by hugging her closely and their wings folded over each other, their feathers tickling each other.

"Take me Rainbow..." Rarity pleaded.

"As you wish," Rainbow said and he proceeded to unclip her bra and it fell to the ground, he then moved to grasp her big chest and squeeze it tightly yet gently, kneading it with his hand.

"Oh, Blitz!" Rarity cried out.

"Just getting started babe," Blitz said before grabbing her underwear and pulling it down.

Now that they were both bare, Rainbow reached around her and grabbed her butt in his hands and easily lifted her and she wrapped her legs around his abdomen.

As they kissed and Blitz felt her butt up he carried her to the bed and dropped her on it.

"Oof!" Rarity gasped as she lay on the bed and she looked up to see Blitz staring down at her with lust in his eyes.

Not just shallow wanting though but happiness, happiness at finally getting the mare he wanted.

She doesn't know where this situation will take them but one thing is for sure, neither want to return to normal now...

"Are you going to stare or do something?" Rarity asked playfully.

"Just admiring, you're every bit as beautiful as I thought, maybe even more so," Rainbow said.

Rarity blushed and looked away "You quite handsome too," She said.

"Then let's stop playing around," Blitz smirked, and then he climbed atop her.

After positioning himself the two just stared into each other's eyes, at that moment they felt complete and Rainbow proceeded to begin slowly.

Interestingly he found she didn't have a hymen, must have been a fling from another time.

Not the time to be thinking of that though.

The two embraced completely and kissed fervently hands wandering all over each other.

At that moment they felt... complete...

The next morning Rainbow woke up with a start.

"Huh? What happened?" Rainbow looked around before seeing the reason why he felt so accomplished right now.

A naked Rarity, lying there next to him.

He smiled and laid back next to her.

"I love you," Rainbow said.

A week had passed since then and Rainbow and Rarity had shared themselves and they became official.

They had also told Twilight they wished to stay like this, Twilight was honestly surprised but accepted knowing they wanted this.
So Rarity and Rainbow entered a bar in Cloudsdale, Rarity was happy she could visit anytime she wanted now and not worry about falling to her death.

As they made their way in, Rainbow saw Soarin waving him over.

"Hey, Rainbow!" Soarin cheered with his other guy friends.

Rainbow had told the other Wonderbolts about his gender shift and they seemed okay with it.

They even admitted the guys not inviting him had nothing to do with the gender they just thought he wasn't interested in the stuff they do, but now that they know and he's one of the guys he can join in and even bring his marefriend with him sometimes.

"Hey dude, how are things?" Soarin asked.

"Doing great, and I brought my hot marefriend," Blitz said, gesturing to Rarity.

"Tone it down a tad," Rarity said and Blitz chuckled.

"Sorry," Blitz said.

"So, now that your official what are you going to do now?" Soarin asked.

"Well I was thinking of setting up a second shop in Cloudsdale now that I am a pegasus," Rarity said.

"Cool," Soarin said.

"And I'll work hard to bring home the gold for my marefriend," Blitz said.

"Alright, cheers!" They all clinked glasses and enjoyed their time together.

Rarity cheered for her coltfriend as he was performing at a Wonderbolt show with the other Wonderbolts, Rarity knew he was a hot topic amongst the mares but she had to always be quick to remind them that he was taken.

She couldn't help but think back to how this all started because of an accident, and yet it was the happiest accident ever.

Sure they seem like polar opposites, she's a fancy pampered fashionista and he's a fiery and cocky sporty stallion but in the end, they found a common reason to love each other.

And that was simply because they loved each other for the generosity and loyalty in their hearts.

It certainly helped that they found each other hot as well.

In the end, love has strange ways of working, one day you're a pegasus mare with feelings for a fashionista, and next thing you know life does an uno reverse and you suddenly are a stallion spending every night pleasing her in ways better than yesterday.

Sometimes life is funny like that.
