Suspicion

“AJ! AJ! You’ve got to see this!” Desperately, Apple Bloom rushed over the halls of their school to Applejack with a phone in her hand, raised up so that it was in front of her big sister's face while panting.

Applejack could barely make out what was shown right in front of her as Apple Bloom kept shaking her hand, trying to stay still all the while breathing heavily as if ran a whole football field.

Tired of trying to make sense of what was happening on the phone screen, Applejack grabbed the smartphone and soon everything had made sense.

“What the hay…” Applejack observed as her eyes widened as she read the post.

Did you guys know when AJ was a kid she loved playing with her pigs? OMG! She sat in the mud for hours! Her whole family calls her “Piggly Wiggly” cause she loves them so much! What a pig!

Applejack stares at her phone in disbelief, she was a victim to her old “Piggly Wiggly” nickname that was now posted on MyStable for the whole world to see! Actually, just mostly CHS, though it’s still visible for the whole world.

“How did this even happen!” Applejack baffled.

“Anon A Miss..?” Sunset bewildered as she read the name on top of the post.

A few mockings came from a crowd of schoolmates but none of the girls could identify those who proclaimed them.

“Oink Oink”

“Piggly Wiggly’

“Oink Oink”

“Knock it off!” Sunset said threateningly, facing the them.

“It’s alright Sunset, I can handle a little teasing.” Applejack soothed as she lay a hand on Sunset’s shoulder.

“Me and Sweetie Belle n’ Scootaloo saw the post this morning,” “this ‘Anon A Miss’ girl posted it on everyone’s page here at school!” Apple Bloom noted.

“Are ya sure you didn’t tell anyone about your nickname?” Apple Bloom interrogated, “I’m pretty sure I heard you telling Sunset about it at the sleepover you had last night…” Hinting at and making Sunset a suspect.

“Apple Bloom!” Called out AJ, “You should never assume horrible things like that.” She sternly said. There was no way Sunset, of all people could do something as petty as that, nor could she…

The bell rang and soon everyone scurried off to their respective classrooms, so did Applejack.

AJ’s day was filled with teasing remarks, but that wasn’t what set her in an unpleasant mood. It was her contemplating whether or not Apple Bloom was right. Her head was running in circular motions that everything was slightly a blur, thoughts popping up on her head, the dominating one being “But this happened the night before she told Sunset, it might be her…”

Before she knew it, she was at lunch. She grabbed some grub on her plate prior to sitting at a lunch table with her girl friends.

Sunset wasn’t there yet, she probably got held back for something in class. Fluttershy turned to Rainbow Dash and nudged at her to say something.

“Uh… So… Did you find out who did it?” Rainbow posed, not really expecting anything much of an answer.

“Actually.. I think it was Sunset.” Applejack proclaimed, slightly in a unsure tone.

The group of girls sat at the lunch table stunned, they had never believed their friend would just assume something so preposterous.

Pinkie Pie being the goofball she is, took a large gulp of water and proceeded to spit it out on her left side in the most exaggerated way possible.

“WHAAAAAAT! But Sunset’s our frieeeend!” Pinkie yelped. “You don’t even have that much evidence to prove that she's liable!!!”

Sunset could be seen entering the lunch room in which Applejack had to forcefully put her hand over pink girls mouth while gesturing her head towards Sunset, implying her to stop.

Sunset walked over to the lot of girls and waved. Noticing Applejack was in a sour mood (kinda), she sat next to her specifcally.

“Hey, AJ, are you alright?” Sunset concernedly asked, “I notice that some of the teasing might have gotten to you, wanna talk about it?”

Applejack who was at ease now thought “If Sunset really was Anon A Miss, she wouldn’t care about my feelings like this.”

The country girl let out a sigh, she wasn’t too fazed with the whole ‘Piggly Wiggly’ thing now that she thought about it.

“I’m fine, Sunset.” She let out a reassuring smile.

School was out for the day and the girls were off to Rarity’s place for another slumber party yet. Not much of which Applejack remembered, except for the parts where they found out about Rarity’s ‘Closet of Shame’ and tried on all the silly outfits. Lots of pictures and videos were taken, particularly on Sunset's phone.

Boy, nobody could prepare them for what happened next.

Later that week, Apple Bloom and her friends rushed over to the girls holding out her phone. Applejack, already having been through this ordeal, knew what was to come. Applejack grabbed the phone, though this time it was different, these were the pictures taken at the sleepover at Rarity’s, even more shocking was that these specific photos were onSunsets phone only! With the caption being:

OMG… what a bunch of dorks! Hahaha

Rarity peered in to see the commotion as all the other girls followed.

“Oh my goodness!” Rarity commented, astounded.

By now, all of the girls had taken out their phones to see it for themselves, not like they didn’t trust the CMC, it just felt.. Unbelieveable.

Apple Bloom took hold of her phone again and gave Applejack a look as if it was telling her “I told you so!”

Applejack stood completely dumbfounded, she trusted Sunset, and that was a huge deal to AJ. To break somebody’s trust all the while deceiving, was… just too cruel.

“Sorry about this sis,” Apple Bloom anxiously voiced as the group of 9th graders walked away through the halls.

“Ah just can’t believe she’d do something like this, even after we forgave her for everything she did in the past…” Applejack uttered, taken aback. She then took a step back and gasped, was their whole friendship based on a… lie?

And just on cue, Sunset walked over to the group while on her phone completely oblivious about the heavy atmosphere that was just laid upon them just a few minutes ago.

“Good morning, guys!” She announced.

Getting confused as to why her friends did not answer, Sunset looked over from her phone to see all 5 girls staring deep into her soul.

“Sunset,” AJ mouthed “Did you lose your phone?”

What a weird question Sunset thought, “No, you could literally see me holding my phone while walking over to you guys,” Sunset panicked a little but giggled “what’s going on?”

“This is what's going on.” AJ declared as she quickly grabbed her own phone to show Sunset what had happened.

While looking at the post, Sunset could feel her stomach drop.

“Woah!… How did she get our pictures?” Sunset added.

“You mean, how did YOUR photos get on her page’” AJ hollered at Sunset leaving her confused.

“How,” Sunset muttered “I had my phone the entire time, how did she even manage t-”

Sunset's sentence was cut short by Applejack.

“Yeah, how did she get those photos?” Applejack noted suspiciously.

“I.. Uhh-” Sunset was now fidgeting with her phone.

“How did she know about my nickname?! How did she get the photos you had on your phone?!” Applejacked roared.

“I can’t believe how gullible we were, you’re Anon A Miss!”

After that statement the rest of the girls stared in shock and disappointment at Sunset, wondering how she could do something so horrible.

Sunset was wondering how they didn’t have much faith in her and just assumed she was Anon A Miss. Though, given the circumstances, she didn’t blame them.

Everything was set out to seem as if it was Sunset behind the screen all along, no wonder why her friends wouldn’t believe her.

Desperately, she tried in attempts to get her friends to believe her.

“No, wait you guys I didn’t do this!” “I would never dream of wanting to hurt you guys, you’re my friends…” Sunset insisted.

“No you’re not!” Fluttershy cried out “You’re not our friend!”

“No.. I am!” Sunset desperately proclaimed even though her claims were futile, she was now fighting back tears. “I promise! I wouldn’t do this to you guys…”

“This is it Sunset. You’re never going to take advantage of any of us anymore.”

“Please just let me prove myself!” Sunset pleaded.

“I’m sorry, but you did this to us.” AJ asserted. Sunset took a step back and tried to hold back her tears, she knew what was going to happen.

“You can tell whatever rumours or lies you want to make,” Applejack claimed. “but we don’t have to listen.”

And with that, the group of girls walked away from Sunset as she dropped onto the ground bawling her eyes out.

In light of this, Applejack couldn’t help but feel as if something was wrong, why would Sunset be this upset over us dumping her if this is what she wanted to happen.

The walk home was silent other than the sounds of footsteps. As the girls parted ways to their respective homes.

Applejack arrived at her house, she had noticed that Apple Bloom had already returned minutes earlier.

She greeted her with a “Hello,” and received back a “Hey.”

Now that she thought about it, AJ was suspicious, how come it was only her younger sister and her friends reporting the Anon A Miss posts, how was she so quick to know.

And how did she know that Applejack even told Sunset about the full story of her nickname.

Gathering up all the information in her head she decided only now could she conduct her full investigation.

First stop, Apple Blooms phone…
