Mlp: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
The day promised to be really normal. Twilight sensed no threats, Rainbow wasn't showing off and the weather was normal. Everything was seemingly normal. However, it is now almost the middle of the night and in front of me are three strange little creatures very similar to dragons. However, these were different. They did not seem to have a rational mind, they have a hunched posture, small front paws, longer tails and larger snouts. They each have different coloured eyes. Going from the right, the one with the shell on its head is green, the one in the middle is brown and the one on the left is greenish brown. I'm not sure what to think of this but they hatched from eggs I took from a cold cave. There were no tracks or nest or anything to keep them warm so I took them to keep them from freezing and as you can see I discovered a new species.
"Eeee." I honestly didn't know what to say. We just didn't speak for a long while and just looked at each other and the task I want to ask is terribly stupid. "What are you?"
"MUM!"
"MUM?!"
In that one second these little monsters threw themselves at me and hugged me. I tried to get away from it but apparently they don't want to do anything to me. Wait a minute... They think I'm their mum? Well, yes. After all, they saw me first when they hatched so it shouldn't surprise me. Eh. What am I supposed to do now? I know. Twilight. She'll probably know what they are.
"Applejack" I heard my little sister's voice as she opened the door and rubbed her tired eyes. "Why..." She looked at my new visitors. "... Are you screaming? What is it?"
"Eeeee..." I took an apple from the shelf. "Apple" She continued to look at the little creatures. They were licking themselves at the sight of it. Oh o. "Apple Bloom. Go to sleep. I'll take care of them ok? They just hatched."
"They hatched from those eggs you brought from that cave? I thought some dragons would come out of it" One of them approached her slowly with a smile on his muzzle. "Hi. I'm Apple Bloom." He answered nothing. "They can talk?"
"I honestly don't know. So far they've only said mum together." The other two approached my sister licking their lips. "Eeee. Maybe it would be better if you walked away from them..."
"Why?"
"Hungry!"
They yelled practically at the same time as they tried to bite her. Fortunately Apple Bloom was quicker and avoided the snap. Immediately, with a scream, she ran as far away as possible. The little killers ran after her screaming that they were hungry at the same time throwing a piece of shell on my head. Well, no! So I ran after them. Admittedly, they are fast but so am I. Apple Bloom is even faster than me and still barely has an advantage over them.
Screaming through the house she finally woke up my brother, who looked out of his room only to see his fleeing little sister, the three monsters and me with an improvised hat made from the shell of a giant egg. O. Winona joined in the chase with a toy in her mouth. Big Mac must have decided that he was definitely dreaming because he just hit himself in the face with his hoof and passed out. Thanks for the help.... Oh Princess did they break down the door.
The bang made Rainbow Dash, who was sleeping on a cloud nearby, fall off. She didn't have time to react in time when she fell onto the end of the back of one of them. This one looked at her and showed its teeth in a smile. She shrieked but did not manage to fly away as she accidentally slipped to catch the tail on which she began to spin in a huge circle as its owner tried to devour it and the others only made it more difficult, wanting to grab something for themselves. I wanted to catch them but the circles were too big and kept changing position so I couldn't get in their way.
After ten minutes of constant circles Rainbow lost her strength and let go, flying into a tree. She fell to the ground and started vomiting into the bushes. Fortunately... or not they took aim at another pony who poked her head out of the house wanting to see what the commotion was. The moment Mrs Cake saw the three little dragon-like creatures with big teeth running towards her she screamed and ran into the house but luckily I managed to run in front of them and stop them.
"DON'T!" I shouted making the three of them stop practically at once. I looked around to see what damage they had done. They hadn't done anything wrong. Well, except maybe Apple Bloom on the tree because with her you have to go to a psychologist and Rainbow needs to rest. "Enough! Ponies are not food!" Maybe I'm exaggerating now because each of them started crying. Oh no. "No. No. No. No. No. No. I didn't want to. Don't cry. Come on, come on. I'll give you food but first we'll take you to my friend Twilight. Is that okay?"
They immediately started wagging their tails and smiling at me. I was about to go but I saw Rianbow fall to the ground smashing something. "MY CABBAGES!"
Oh dear we have to go. Wait a minute... what's a pony selling cabbages in the market in the middle of the night doing? Eh never mind. I need to find out what these little creatures are as soon as possible. Okay. All I know is that they're made of eggs, apparently they eat meat, they're an unknown species, they're very hyperactive, they're fast, and they're fast for their size. So I don't know much. All right. I arrived at Twilight's house thankfully. I knocked but no one answered. I waited a while before I started knocking harder. This worked and after a while I heard someone come down and open the door. To my eyes appeared a barely alive and sleepy Twilight, who looked as if she hadn't slept for days. Either that's just a mental shortcut or it's true. I don't know. Both scenarios are possible.
"Applejack it's the middle of the night. What's the matter? I have some errands to run tomorrow."
"Do you know what they are?" I asked without thinking. My friend just looked at the three little quasi-dragons who were overly happy for some reason. She must have continued not believing what she was seeing because she rubbed her eyes. She wanted to punch herself in the face but I stopped her. "My brother took that tactic. It didn't work."
"Where did you get them?"
"I found them in a hidden cave." She looked at me as if I'd said the stupidest thing she'd ever heard.... because that's pretty much what it was. "If it wasn't for me they would have frozen."
"And it didn't occur to you that the creatures had some kind of mum or dad?"
"I didn't see anything to indicate that."
"Oh Applejack... Come on. You can tell me where you got them from." Giggled one in the stomach. "I think they need to be fed. Judging by their teeth they eat meat.... Luckily I have fish in case some Griffin visits me."
I walked into her house. Spike, who was completely terrified of the three of them, brought in a load of fish and I started the story. "Well... it all started with me working in the orchard like I do every day. I was picking apples and it was pretty quiet. At one point I noticed that I couldn't knock all the apples off the apple tree despite numerous attempts. Others would have let it go but I didn't. I climbed the tree and dropped the apples, but unfortunately the branch at the top broke under my weight. I fell on my feet with such force that I made a dent in the ground. I didn't understand it at first but after a while I saw the crack. I followed it until I reached the end of the farm and there was a crack in the ground. I hit it with my hoof and there was quite a large crack. I went in there because the cave was huge and it got colder the further I went. I found these eggs when my feet were half in the snow. I didn't see any other tracks so I took them. I thought they were dragon. I wanted to save them."
"And I praise that a lot but you can't take someone's eggs like that. From what I've managed to see they have very thick skin so the cold wouldn't threaten them."
"So what am I supposed to do with them now? They don't want to leave me for a second."
"Tomorrow you take me to the place where you found them and then we'll think about it. Maybe their parents are worried about them." She yawned and the three unspecified creatures parroted her. "But that's tomorrow ok? I'm very tired today."
"Alright then. Come on sugarcubes. Since you are full you might not try to eat my sister" I laughed when suddenly we heard a strange very loud roar-like sound. The creatures were slightly frightened and I petted them. "What was that?"
"There's probably an earthquake somewhere and that's just the sound that's made with it. It's nothing like that."
"I hope so. It's see you tomorrow"
We left. The three walked in front of me so I could keep an eye on them. They were just fooling around and teasing. They are nicer when they are full however I have so many questions. What are they, why were they abandoned and why is Rainbow eating cabbage when he flies upright...?
