Author's Note

Note: This story does not take anything relating to the IDW Comics. While there may be some things that were originally from there, they aren’t treated the same way. Also, I didn’t feel the need to do an aftermath since there would be a lot to go off of when compared to the other stories done before.

The Story

Not very long ago, there was a faraway kingdom known as Royal Paradise. This land wasn’t that well known amongst all of Equestria. It was ruled by 6 Unicorn princesses. Their names were Princess Primrose, Princess Royal Blue, Princess Serena, Princess Sparkle, Princess Starburst, and Princess Tiffany. They ruled over their land with love and harmony.

It was a peaceful day until suddenly, a large penguin king arrived with an army of penguin soldiers.

The penguin king announced, “Attention all ponies, I am King Charlton and I shall be your new king for all of eternity. Kneel before me now.”

The princesses appeared right in front of him.

Princess Primrose says, “You will do no such thing.”

The princesses got ready to fight him, but Charlton used smoke bombs to blind them. Using this to his advantage, he quickly used his trident, broke all of their horns with one swipe, and then knocked them all out. When the smoke cleared, Charlton ordered the soldiers to grab some rope and tie them up. They did just that.

He then laughed and said, “What pathetic fools. Consider yourselves dethroned.”

He then raised his trident while his soldiers raised their spears and stabbed them.

After that day, the town became one of despair and was in ruins by the powerful king. King Charlton wore the horns of the Unicorns around his neck like a neckless. He was an awful king. He ruled the town and made taxes from other ponies and forced them into slavery. King Charlton is cruel to all creatures.

One day, a family of Pegasi with a baby were traveling across the skies. They landed in the city unsure about what it was like. King Charlton saw them landing and sent his guards to capture them to take their money. He also sees they have a baby.

Charlton is interested in her and says, “Hmm, this little one could be useful for me. I will make her into a lovely princess who will rule this land one day. Hehehe.”

Years have passed. The baby had grown up into a young Pegasus filly named Cozy Glow. Cozy was, like Apple Bloom before she met Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, alone and unfriendly. She was raised to be like a second-in-command to King Charlton. Her parents were executed, but she didn’t know about that. Despite her position of power, she was still young and she was bullied by both the penguin soldiers and some of the pony guards who have become molded by Charlton to be careless and unkind because she didn’t have her cutie mark.

One night, King Charlton heard her crying in her room. Even though he was heartless, something in him made him enter her room and comfort her.

“What’s wrong Cozy?” he asked.

Cozy says, “The guards keep picking on me. Only one Unicorn guard is kind to me.”

Charlton then says, “I see. I’ll have a word with them tomorrow. But remember this! You will soon have to be able to deal with them on your own and to act more like an adult. Understand?”

Cozy Glow nods and King Charlton leaves the room.

The next day, King Charlton ordered all the guards to a meeting. Cozy Glow and the Unicorn Guard were with him.

King Charlton told the Unicorn, “Restrain them all!”

He does that and the guards and soldiers were all held down.

He then says, “Do I need to remind you all of who she is? She is the second-in-command and you all must obey and respect her! If not, then you all will be executed! Understand?!”

All the guards were afraid of him and nodded. They no longer bullied her after that day. King Charlton started to teach Cozy Glow how to be manipulative and the best ways to stand up for herself.

One day, the school that Charlton was sending Cozy Glow to was going to be holding an election. Cozy Glow was picked first. Other ponies were older and wanted to be in the election as well. So the class paid attention to Cozy Glow and knew what she could do. Her “father” had a deal with Cozy Glow. King Charlton tells his daughter that she should use her manipulation and trickery on her classmates. He kept watch from afar during the school election.

Before Cozy Glow was prepared for her speech, the older filly told her, “You should back out while you still can blank flank!”

No one but the guards and Charlton knew who Cozy Glow was and what her position was. Charlton wanted it to be a surprise once she was an adult to tell everyone. So no one knew to treat her with respect.

Two of King Charlton’s secret guards then grabbed the filly and took her away. Cozy Glow started laughing. Later on, Cozy Glow walks on stage with the speech that she and her father wrote.

She performed her speech, “Hello everyone! My name is Cozy Glow. Thank every one of you for taking the time to listen to me. It truly means so much to me! You might be wondering why I want to be your School President. Well, I believe that together we can create a school environment where every pony feels happy, included, and inspired! My heart is set on making our school the best it can be, and I know that with your support, we can achieve amazing things! If elected as your president, I promise to be your voice. I want to hear your ideas, your dreams, and your concerns. Whether it’s about improving our lunch choices, organizing fun events, or creating a safe space for everyone, I’m here to listen! Every single one of you matters, and together, we can bring your ideas to life! I want to promote a culture where we lift each other, support one another, and make sure that no pony feels left out. Together, we can create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued and appreciated. Thank you all for your support, and let’s make this year unforgettable!”

She walked off stage after she was finished.

Days later, Cozy Glow won the election. But there was another catch, she also received her cutie mark. On that day, King Charlton called for a celebration for Cozy Glow getting her cutie mark. Everyone was taken into a small room to celebrate.

Cozy Glow ran up to her ‘’father’’ and said, “This is the happiest moment of my life!”

“Indeed it is. You deserve all of this.”

Charlton was going to tell Cozy Glow that she was almost ready to take over until a commotion happened.

Everyone ran outside and looked out to see a huge armada of airships descending upon them. The biggest one landed and a walkway lowered to the ground. Out stepped a little hedgehog and a cloud creature. The hedgehog put down a box that opened up to be a megaphone of sorts with him holding a small speaker that was connected to the megaphone. He walked forward a little bit after it finished being turned into the megaphone causing an evil grin to spread across his face.

He said, “Creatureth of Royal Paradithe, we come on behalf of the fearthome, the powerful, the almighty, Thtorm King!”

Three banners rolled down the sides of the airship. The middle one had the Storm King’s face with an evil grin and the other two had the Storm emblem on them. On cue, the Storm King stepped down.

King Charlton stepped forward and said, “What is the meaning of this?!”

The Storm King spoke up, “Well, isn’t it obvious? The king is here to take control.”

“What king are you? I rule this place!”

Storm King grinned sinisterly and said, “Not anymore.”

Cozy Glow asks, “Papa, what are we-”

Before she could finish, King Charlton turned to her and told her, “Cozy, I need you to get as far from this city as possible. It could get ugly.”

Cozy didn’t want to, but she knew she had no choice. She flew away.

Storm King just laughed, “Aw, how cute. I despise cute! ATTACK!!!”

Suddenly the sides of the ship opened up and three cannons appeared. The cannons fired and hit several structures, destroying them. The civilians screamed in terror and ran around in a panic as more Storm creatures rained down from the sky, landed on the ground, and began attacking the populace. King Charlton battled the Storm King and they were even.

Minutes passed and Cozy Glow managed to leave the city. She turned to see everything on fire. Even from a far distance, she could tell that no one survived. All she could see now was the Storm Armada Ships leaving. Cozy Glow, left in tears, slowly started to walk away to find somewhere to go.

On the top of the airship, the Storm King held Charlton over the edge, ready to finish him off.

“Any last words you so-called king?”

Charlton looked down at the destruction and said, “I hope your empire burns down with my city.”

Storm King wasn’t impressed and dropped him. He says to himself, “Goodbye my daughter.” right before he hits the ground and perishes in the fire below.

Cozy Glow, left with nothing, traveled along the outskirts to find civilization. She had been traveling for many days, eventually arriving at a place called Ponyville. Cozy looked around in awe at how amazing this place was. She had never heard of this place before.

As she looks around the place, she sees a school that appears to be just opening up and hearing what it’s about. It is called the School of Friendship. A school where all pony and non-pony creatures get to learn about friendship. Cozy hated the idea, feeling like Twilight Sparkle was not worthy to run a school like this. Cozy Glow remembers that Charlton told her to do whatever it takes to have everything and that if there are thoughts of others who are unworthy of what they have, take it for yourself. She also remembers her “father” telling her that if she succeeds in tyranny and conquest, she will get everything she ever wants in her life.

This causes Cozy to get an idea. She’ll deal with Twilight and her friends herself and that she will make sure to get rid of the non-pony creatures at the school. With that, she has the plan of obtaining power. So she went to enroll in it. She succeeds thanks to the help of her new “friends”, the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

During her time at the school, she developed the belief that Friendship is power. So she started to manipulate everyone at the school that she wanted to be their friend. She also managed to become the top student. Since she didn’t have anywhere to call home, she would hide in the school after hours and sleep.

One day, Cozy was called into Twilight’s office. She enters and sees Twilight looking over some papers with Spike.

She asks, “You wanted to see me headmistress?”

She answers, “Yes, I did. Please close the door and take a seat.”

Cozy did just that and then asked, “So, what is it you need from me, headmistress?”

“Well, I went over your grades and they are amazing. I also saw how many friends you managed to make. I was hoping you would like a special position at this school.”

“And that is?”

“How would you like to be my personal Friendship Assistant?”

Cozy Glow had a smile grow on her face. It was almost as big as Pinkie Pie’s. She was hoping to gain a high position of power for a long time. If she can’t be queen, then she could become the Empress of Friendship by manipulating the Mane 6. Getting Twilight to trust her was her first step and this was better than she could’ve imagined.

“Really? I would love to!”

“Great. I will let your parents know about this. If they’re alright with it, then it will be done.”

Hearing Twilight say ‘parents’ made Cozy have a sad look. She knew she had to tell her about it. There was no other perfect time to tell her than now. She could get a better home.

She puts on a sad expression and tells her, “I don’t have parents. My mommy wasn’t around and my daddy perished by the Storm King.”

Twilight and Spike were shocked. Twilight got up and walked over to her and hugged her. Cozy Glow was a little confused by this. King Charlton never hugged her.

Twilight says, “I’m sorry to hear that.”

She then broke the hug and said, “Could you wait here for a moment? I need to talk with Spike.”

She then walks over to Spike and they chatted about what to do with her. Cozy wasn’t paying attention as she was planning out what she could do next for her plan for power and take over.

Twilight then said, “So Cozy, after thinking it over, how would you like to stay with us?”

This couldn’t be any more perfect for Cozy Glow. She would possibly gain more knowledge of the Mane 6 and use it against them. She nodded her head yes. From that day, Cozy would live at the castle.

Over time, she had gotten over losing her home and started to think less and less of her “father”. She came to the conclusion that he wasn’t the best figure to idle. She makes it her additional goal to become far worse than him and every threat that has ever attacked Equestria.

She would at times keep to herself and continue to think about her plan on how she would take over the school and all of Equestria. She will get her answer soon enough.

One day, Cozy Glow learns about parts of Equestrian lore, history, and the many threats that attack Equestria in the past. Her interest peaked when she learns about a creature that steals magic, Lord Tirek. Wanting to have someone smart enough to help her succeed in her plans so that she won’t fail in her plans. Cozy writes a letter to the imprisoned Centaur at Tartarus and sends the note.

The next day, Tirek sends a letter back, refusing to help her at first, much to Cozy’s sadness. However, Cozy came up with the idea. She writes another letter to him that if he helps her, then she can help him get revenge on his enemies and trap them in Tartarus with him.

One day, Cozy Glow was doing work when she heard a voice that said, “Hello Cozy Glow.”

Cozy jumped at this and said, “What the?! Who said that?! Who are you?!”

“Calm down. It’s me, Lord Tirek.”

Cozy Glow shook her head and said, “Tirek? How are you doing this?”

Tirek says, “I’m using telepathy to talk with you. It’s just to make sure no one gets suspicious of why you’re sending letters out.”

“Okay… So what is it you want?”

“Hehe, I am tempted to help you with your plans.”

Cozy Glow beamed with excitement and said, “Really? Great!”

Tirek continued, “Only as long as you can keep your end of the bargain and if our conversation is kept a secret.”

“Done and done. So, what should I do first?”

And with that, over the course of weeks, Lord Tirek teaches Cozy Glow how to drain all the magic of Equestria and to get of Twilight and her friends to go to Tartarus so that she can get what she always desires, to become a future ruler of Equestria. Turning her into his protege. She knew how valuable magic was to the world. So when the magic started to disappear, many creatures were put in harm’s way and nearly died. Once all was said and done, Tirek stopped using his telepathy.

Cozy Glow grinned sinisterly and said, “Watch out Twilight, for here comes the Empress of Friendship!”

She then laughed. Her plan was going to be a near-extinction event for ponies. Many magical creatures would potentially get her or even perish. If any non-pony creatures who don’t need magic to live their lives come to attack, ponies would be defenseless. After all the magic is gone, then she would enslave all the survivors.

She went through the plan and came close to succeeding. Unfortunately, her and Tirek’s plan backfired thanks to the Young 6. Cozy was sent to Tartarus for her crimes. Due to all of her manipulation and how much damage she caused, she was deemed too much of a threat to be left around.

This causes Cozy to now have a new secret agenda, to have all the ponies bow down to her and gain all the power in the universe, but this time she does not care if she gains the approval of Tirek or not. She is determined to get revenge on all of her enemies and make them suffer. She becomes more power-hungry than ever before.

She and Tirek are soon teleported into a new location with Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra. When she meets Grogar, she’s the only one there who doesn’t know about him. She goes against the idea of working with others. However, she is the most willing to cooperate with them.

After they retrieve Grogar’s Bewitching Bell, she decides to fully bite her tongue and accept the team-up. She goes along with Chrysalis’s plan to betray Grogar. She found it both strange and amazing to be an Alicorn. Her desire for power only grew. After they take Discord’s magic, Cozy tries to use it in order to betray her allies and become the most powerful beings in the universe. This backfired when she could control it. She was going to try to combine the Royal Sister’s magic with the Chaos magic to see if she could control it, but she was stopped before she could get that chance.

Upon seeing the Windigo’s return, she wants to get rid of them just because it was too cold for her. She hardly cared about anyone else being frozen. However, she was thinking about going with Chrysalis’ plan to let them turn Equestria into a frozen wasteland for now, and then she’ll betray Tirek and Chrysalis for real and get rid of the Windigo’s afterward. In the end, friendship still defeats them and they are all turned to stone. This ends the tale of the Manipulative Filly.
