a story following the young unicorn princess of the crystal empire, radiance, as she learns about her former self.
living with her family, who have recently just become the first rulers of an independent crystal empire for thousands of moons, radiance doesn't have as many duties. however, now that she is eighteen, her life and her duties will begin to change forever.

her oldest sister, princess flurry heart, is already living away from home in harmonising heights as the princess of unity. she has been there for two years, and it seems like she is only going to be home for special events.
her other sister, princess borealis, however, still lives with her younger sister and their parents, empress cadence and emperor shining armor, protecting her home as a royal guard, following in her father's hoofsteps.
but radiance does not know what she wants to do for her duties. will she become a princess in the same right as flurry? will she be a guardian like borealis? or will she find out who she was, so very long ago, at her parents' coronation as empress and emperor of the crystal empire?
