With the onset of the Equestrian Civil War, Light Shine finds himself in the middle of hostile territory with few friends or allies. The entire east coast of Equestria has broken free and now brings war to Celestia and her loyalists. Desperate to escape capture and eager to strike back at the Nightmarist and communist traitors, Light flees to his home city of Stableside, confident that its traditionally strong ties to Celestia will prove enough to remain loyal to Equestria.

Once home, however, what is to be done? Cut off from Equestria proper on all sides, how can the loyal resistance hope to survive? And if the unthinkable happens to Celestia…

…will it prove wise to follow the sun to the end?
