Previous Chapter

It was a good evening weather in Canterlot. And that’s how Princess Luna thought about it too. She was in a great mood, as she had slept well during the day. The Princess of the night felt great, and she was ready to plunge into the world of dreams to protect her subordinates from nightmares as always.

At this evening Princess Luna decided to look out the window to watch the sunset. However, she noticed something strange. The sun, which was supposed to calmly go below the horizon, moved up and down at different speeds.

Princess Luna immediately realized that something had happened and ran to the balcony, where there was another alicorn. She arrived at the place as soon as possible.

"Sister, I've seen your sun acting strangely! Is something happened?"

Princess Luna discovered that her sister, Princess Celestia, was looking straight ahead and laughing hysterically. She should be lowering the sun right now, but she couldn’t because she was always laughing.

"Tia, why are you scaring our subjects? Tell me what it all means." Luna began to approach her sister. Celestia did not react to her in any way and continued to laugh.

"Sister, what's going on?! What is all this laughter about?!"

Celestia handed Luna a fresh newspaper and pointed with her hoof at the first article, while she continued to laugh hysterically. Luna didn't understand anything, but decided to read the newspaper:

BREAKING NEWS: A UNSUCCESSFUL ROBBERY OF THE LIBRARY!!!

“I'm telling you, it was a good fu**ing plan!” our publication quotes one of the criminals!

There was a library robbery in Manehattan this morning, as a result of which not a single item was stolen. However, three stallions were injured.

Turns out that the robbers were two mares: one of them was blue pegasus with a rainbow mane, who wore a mask of a smiling clown. And the second was a pink earth pony with a pink mane, who wore a sad clown mask.

According to witnesses, the situation occurred at 6 a.m., when one of the robbers tried to break into the library, but a second later he began swearing obscenities. After that, they were not heard. However, we managed to find out from the hostages what had happened inside the building.

“I left the pantry and saw two clowns in front of me, asked them to leave the building, and one of them attacked the guards, and then demanded me to show her some book, and then began to pick the lock from the safe. The second one was quieter and kinder. I do not know how, but we began to talking with her, and I even forgot myself that I was actually talking to the robber. It was the first time I felt such a rapid manifestation of Stockholm syndrome.” quotes the publication of one of the freed hostages. He declined to comment further, as he gave some promise to one of the robbers.

The second released hostage told us that one of the robber took the harmonica, but at the same time paid for it.

(note: the robber kept the harmonica because he legally acquired it)

As for the item that the criminals wanted to steal, according to law enforcement officers, they tried to take away a safe containing various papers, a document on the appointment of a librarian as the organizer of an upcoming event in the library, as well as an action book from Stevenson Kipling: "Jack and the Vanilla Factory".

To the question "Why did they do that?" the robbers' lawyer explains everything by the fact that one of them often catches a state of passion, which makes her forget what was happening and what she was doing. And the pony with the rainbow mane, as lawyer said, has autism.

The lawyer also said that right now they are undergoing intensive courses of psychotherapy and lobotomy, so there is no need to worry about about them.

(note 2: the publication does not name the lawyer due to anonymity)

Who knows what other troubles might happen. But one thing is for sure:

As always, our police did their job perfectly and will continue to ensure that order is maintained on the streets of Manehatten!

And this incident can be officially called "The most unsuccessful robbery of the century".

In addition to Princess Celestia's laughter, the balcony of Canterlot Castle was filled with the hysterical laughter of Princess Luna.

The end!
