Chapters Rainbow factory: the phantom ruby
Scootaloo ran for her life. She was crying because of what was once her role model, now betrayer and monster said to her.
"You are WORTHLESS, you squander your gift of wings, you FAILED. ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS TO NOT FAIL. And you FAILED. I cared about you until you failed me. Now you will be made into a rainbow."
The words hurt, as it was her hero saying them, but she needed to survive. She survived out in the everfree ever since her parents threw her out. She survived Timberwolves at 10 years old. She survived everything life threw at her, she will survive this.
Seeing a vent opening big enough for her to enter but small enough to stop rainbow, she took it.
She sighed as she heard rainbow curse as she was too big to enter. She crawled through the vents until she saw the exit across the hallway.
Leeping out of the vents, she flew at high speeds to the door as she felt a flame of hope turning into a bonfire. That was until she heard rainbow scream her name as she entered the hallway, leeping at me at impossible speeds as I almost reached the door, the flame burning bright in her, as she was tackled to the ground and everything faded to black.
Scootaloo came too inside a large room. Scaffolding above and bellow her as rainbow stood across her. Her wings where bound and chains secured her limbs as she saw what looked like a giant meat grinder was below her(1).
"It seems you finally awoke" rainbow said as employees worked feverishly around them. "You see I normally just drop the useless ponies into the rainbow extracter but you are a special case. You almost escaped, and was very determined in doing so as well. So I will personally drop you i to the machine myself. So any last words before you drop to you fate."
Scootaloo felt defiance towards the pony.. no monster infront of her. So she did her final last defiant move she will ever do.
"I hope you trip and fall into the machine you monster." Scootaloo said as the chains holding her above the extracter unlocked, leaving her to fall into the terrible machine, as it turned on, the blades moving seemingly chaotic yet intricately, the blades still wet with the blood of innocent ponies. Seeing her memories rapidly move before her eyes as her brain desperately looked for a way out of this situation despite her knowing it was no use.
As she finally reached the Machine, she didn't lose her determination, even after the blades chopped her back hooves into mince meat, drawing as much blood as it possibly could. The pain was seering as she was chopped up bit by bit. Her body being mulched as she died.
Rainbow sighed as scootaloo died in the extracter. A smile on her face, she loved making rainbows. She sighed again however, because this was the last job before the end of her shift, meaning her work for today was finished. She hated the rest of the elements, but she needed to play along. She wished scootaloo didn't fail the test however.
"We could have made rainbows together." Rainbow whispered as she genuinely cared for scootaloo, and she was going to teach her the ways of extracting rainbows from the ones who didn't deserve their wings.
She calmed down as she reached the exit as she needed a few things from the market. Some of which was crucial for the next step for the rainbow factory.
Meanwhile: in the underground of a different universe, a ruby of powers equal to the chaos emeralds (in the right hands). It sensed a person of strong will die in the face of betrayal. It had found its new master. So with the power of the phantom ruby, it did its one task Givin to it at its creation. Find a strong unbreakable soul. One that faced an unfair life with all of the cards faced against them. One who will control the powers of reality warping illusions.
(1) she knows what a meat grinder is because of gilda and her meat eating diet.
Also gilda and rainbow dash didn't seperate after flight school in this world.

Chapter 1: the phantom ruby.
Scootaloo blinked as she woke up. She thought that she has died, unless there is an afterlife. The memories of what happened was leaving her mind as she looked around. The surrounding area was a wonderbolt arena, but everything was purple with red transparent cubes littering the sky. She didn't think the afterlife would be so... purple. Then again she didn't know what she thought the afterlife would look like. But this wasn't it.
But as she was thinking she felt bored. "Ugh, not even a minute inside this afterlife and I'm now bored, is there anything to do?" Scootaloo questioned to herself. She thought of racing some wonderbolts and imagined it. Spitfire in the lead with sorin behind her. She giggled at herself as immediately after her death she would think of the wonderbolts. However as she opened her eyes she could only stare in amazement.
In the arena was a red transparent spitfire, followed by a red transparent sorin. It was exactly as she imagined it to be. She couldn't believe though, until it struck her.
She could create anything she could want with her imagination. She giggled at that as that a power any filly or colt would love.
But right now, she's going to use this power to entertain herself.
But before she could do anything, she felt a shift, as if her entire soul moved. She waited as gor whatever this was to leave. The feeling of her soul moving was disorienting. And getting a hood of this power of creation, the willed a window into whatever was happening so she could get a grip on what was happening.
Sonic was shocked. Eggman had dug up a ruby, and with it in his grasp, he took his super form away with ease. And sonic new that this time, eggman wasn't playing around.
It was around 2 years since sonic first stopped eggman, and this was the first time he was caught of gaurd.
From what sonic knew, the only way for him to lose the super form was if he ran out of rings.
Meanwihle sonic was lost in his mind eggman took the chaos emeralds and using the phantom ruby, spread them in pocket dimensions all over the island, and then teleported to a different location. An island rising from the sea, creating a flying island.
Looking at the island, sonic considered that he might lose. But despite hid doubts we went to his trusty plane he found, it had helped him reach hard to reach places.
However as he reached the location of his plane, he found a young fox tinkering with the plane.
"Hey, who are you, and what are you doing?" Sonic asked the fox, as he walked up to the young person.
"O-oh it's n-nothing, i-i just t-thought that the plane n-needed fixing." Said the stuttering fox.
"Well thank you, but I must ask again, who are you?" Sonic asked the fox again.
"O-oh, my n-name is miles, but y-you can call me tails." Said the now introduced tails.
"Well little buddy hop on, we're going on an adventure." Sonic said, as he knew tails was good(1).
"R-really? Why?" Asked tails.
"Well, I need a pilot and I'm bad at flying this plane." Answered sonic as he patted tails head.
Eggman laughed as he had found a power GREATER than the chaos emeralds! With the power of the phantom ruby, he can create the best theme park ANYONE will ever see in there ENTIRE life. All he needed to do was use the power given to him by the ruby.
As eggman laughed more. Entire attractions rose into being from thin air, troops of armored badnicks guarding them as his new base constructed itself under his feet, a throne made of solid light materializing infront of himself.
He put the ruby in the slot created for it specifically, as eggman sat in his throne, he felt everything in his new eggman theme park.
Sonic and tails ran though green hill zone, intent on finding the hidden emerald. Tails holding a device monitoring the local area for the energy of the chaos emeralds.
It was silent until. "Over there, I am getting a huge spike of chaos energy in that direction." Tails said as his device made a beebing sound.
"OK little guy, stay here." Sonic said as he wanted to keep tails safe as he was still 7 years old.
Sonic ran through green hill as it started to warp and change. The unrestricted power of the emerald bleeding into the reality around it.
The portal was up ahead, it leading into a pocket dimension of chaos.
The surroundings were quickly devolving into nonsense as he continued to the portal, gravity shifting from up down and somehow inside out.
But as thing where becoming nothing but chaos, sonic entered the portal.
Sonic was inside a flat plain of reality, as he was somehow looking at himself inside the flat plain, but sonic decided not to question the weirdness of it as he could explain it of as the emeralds not having any control.
Sonic quickly understood what to do. He needed to move the reality around his body to move himself to the goal, having to destroy barriers in his track.
Sonic was disoriented at first once he completed the course, but once he got up he spotted tails.
"Hey tails, anything happen while I was gone?" Asked sonic as he started walking with him again.
"No, but you do now have the first emerald correct?" Tails asked, sonic replied by taking the emerald out(2). "Good, no all we need is the 6 others, there should be a second one nearby. Let's go." Sonic followed, surprised on how tails stopped stuttering as he got into his role.
However, as tails and sonic found where the second emerald was, a machine stopped them in there path.
It looked like a robotic version of eggman in his iconic hover machine.
"Muwahahaha, you really thought I wouldn't notice you gathering the chaos emeralds? Well I new the moment you walked into the first chaos dimension. I am the gaurdian of green hill zone, and you will NOT survive!" Eggmachine said.
Scootaloo watched the duo fight the machine in awe. Even though she was fifteen didn't mean she lost her live for action. She didn't care that this eggman apparently has this super powerful artifact. She just watched as the blue blur destroy the machine and gather the emerald. She was a huge fan girl, so she decided to change her look, as she had already died, might as well treat it as a new beginning.
Her body morphed, hooves turning into feet and arms (with shoes and white gloves). The shoes was a shade of purple with red stripes. Her gloves had a red gem in the middle. Her body was the same color of orange, and her wings where now made of phantom energy. Her face was now a mask, the mask had 2 big shards of gems for eyes and a bronze metallic look on it.
But now, she needed a cool name. She thought until a name found itself in her mind. Aleph(3).
(1) sonic trusted tails as he noticed how skilled tails was at fixing the tornado.
(2) the chaos emeralds are very powerful, and also it would be way to easy to steal them if they just float around, so the get stored in a pocket dimension tied to sonic or to whoever took the emerald.
(3) aleph numbers are a sequence of numbers used to represent the cardinality (or size) of infinite sets that can be well-ordered. So it's a very big number. And a fancy way of saying infinite.
Author's Note
The phantom ruby worked a but differently than normally. It's imagination and will based like the green lanterns. Except illusion based and reality warping property's.

Chapter 2: on the path to lord eggman
Sonic and tails ran through the next zone, finding the next emerald gaurded by what looks to be a giant lobster.
"OK, is eggman running out of ideas? What with the lobster?" Asked sonic as a lobster was far from what he would have guessed.
"Muwahahaha, I see you have found me. My name is mecha-lobster. And I will be your DOOM!" The mecha lobster Exclaimed as it launched its claws at sonic and tails.
The claws made deep gashes in the floor. And with an explosion the claw returned to its place.
"OK, I see why you would be a threat, but I have faced against worse." Proclaimed sonic as he dogged the attacks. And damaging the mecha every chance he gets until.
"I-i-i se-see you hav-e damag-ed me-e to the-e point of explo-sion goo-dby-e." And with the last glitched words leaving the sparking lobster. The mecha exploded, launching another eggmachine out.
"Well I'll just have to do it myself now don't I." Said the Eggmachine as he shot energy at sonic.
With the second phase, sonic dodged the attacks and used openings to attack Eggmachine.
Eventually, the Eggmachine retreated, leaving the duo to grab the two emeralds and leaving to the next and last zone until eggmans flying fortress.
Aleph squealed at how sonic took down the lobster. "Oh celestia! That! Was! AMAZING! He jumped at the weak points and absolutely demolished that stupid lobster! I wonder if I can fight one? Only one way to find ou!" Aleph talked to herself excitedly as she summoned a lobster for her to fight.
Sonic decided to tell tails to stay behind and fix up the tornado as they had encountered some flying badnicks trying to stop them. Sonic shook his head, there's no way eggman is going to win.
Sonic went through the futuristic dystopia looking for the boss guarding the 5th and 6th emerald, only to be surprised when he finds only one emerald is here. So he follows the signal.
Metal sonic was watching his inferior self as he went straight for the emerald.
He could only shake his head. Such simple minded determination.
If he was in his other halfs shoes hw would have scouted the area first.
So when his fleshy counterpart was in the perfect spot, he lunged toward the hedgehog with immeasurable speed.
Sonic was surprised when a metal version crashed into him.
The metallic sonic looked like him but with no mouth and shiny.
"Looks like you got the short end of the straw, you got no mouth. The best part in my opinion." Sonic jabbed at metal sonic
However metal sonic had reaction as he attacked with ripid spindashes with pinpoint accuracy.
Sonic dodged the attack but was still surprised at the speed and precision of which metal attacked. "It seems like eggman somehow recreated my speed and improved it." Sonic said as he faced someone with the same speed as him but with a higher accuracy. He was sweating as he was in serious trouble.
The two clashed again, metal having the upper hand as his precision and was tougher metal made him a formidable foe. His metal was as strong as compressed steel.
Sonic was thinking quickly. Until it hit him. "Come on, you are a fake representative of me." Sonic jabbed again, this time angering metal sonic into attacking recklessly.
Sonic took advantage of that and attacked at metals weakpoint his chest, which is usually protected by an arm, but with metal attacking recklessly, the weak point was exposed.
Grinning, sonic attacked fast and hard, destroying the core of metal. And with the destruction of metals core, all he could do was escape.
And so metal used the last of his power to escape sonic. With a sigh of relief sonic sagged. He knew there was only two emeralds left, but he felt drained after fighting metal. He wasn't used to fighting someone on the same speed as he was. Worse still was the fact metal could hot harder. And was better at making calculations.
So with another sigh, sonic got up and took the emerald. And so when sonic returned to tails, he fell asleep to recover some of his energy.
Aleph was fangirlimg so hard. She had witnessed true awesomeness. After she had beat the lobster she had continued to watch. And the fight was perfect. She just saw a new rivalry being created between organic speed and inorganic speed. "Eeeeeeehhhhhh!!! Sonic was up against odds that were stacked against him and still won! He I so awesome! But also kind of like me which is awesome!"
And now she wanted to fight metal sonic. So she recreated metal from what she saw in the fight. She was going to have so much fun.
Metal sonic returned to egg island for one goal.
The emerald was gaurded by another eggmachine, but he simply walked passed as they had orders to not attack metal sonic.
The chaos emerald was a beautiful shade of blue. It radiated energy In waves of chaotic energies. With it in hand it will ascend into a higher form, and it will show it is the better sonic.
Eggman laughed as everything fell into place. Sonic with have a rematch against metal. Eggman would than swoop in and take the emerald, than use the emerald to summon and control the being trapped inside the ruby and then Noone will be able to stop him. He was an evil genius.

This one is a bit of a short chapter. But next chapter is going to be an intermission about rainbow dash.

Intermission: preparations
Rainbow dash grinned, as everything fell into place. The rainbow factory will expand and soon become self independent from equestria. A flying nation of metal holding the precious resource of spectra. And soon she will have the whole of equestria under her iron hoof.
Research into spectra for usage in weapons have been going great. So far they have created a grenade that spreads the poisonous affect of concentrated spectra everywhere. As well as a laser, using super-heated spectra to blow up anything in its path(1).
And soon she will buy all the materials she will need.
Of course there is that pesky ceo, controlling everything. Squandering his power. I will create a better company. All she needs is an 'accident'.
"Hello miss rainbow dash." The feo smiled at me, not even knowing about the bomb planted in the room. "You have been asking for a raise? Well unfortunately we simply can't do that-". He was cut off by an explosion.
I tan out looking panicked when in reality I am happy. The plan was full success. And as the second in command I would become ceo.
The first thing I did as ceo was demand to find a better way to create spectra. Now you might ask "why, I thought you loved to turn those useless lesser beings into spectra" and yes I do love that. However, it is inefficient. We need faster ways to create spectra. As my plans detail out, we will need more for research and without a lot of it we will have to wait for more to be drained out of another useless pegasus. We will need a new source.
Rainbow smiled at the new prototype, it was two tesla coils and a droplet of blood. The electricity strike the blood at both ends, causing some of the blood to turn into spectra. This was a step in the correct direction.
Rainbow grinned manically at the new spectra transformation platform. It's four massive tesla coils striking lightning onto a pegasus, causing a chain reaction turning all of the blood inside the pegasus to turn into spectra for us to use. Now what makes spectra so special anyways? Well it can act as any liquid or gas in existence. Is there not enough blood inside of you? Spectra can work as blood. You need clean water? All it needs is a drop of said liquid for the rest to copy it.
The construction of rainbow city was going great. The factory was still there, but it was now underground, with skyscrapers on the top for living space. It was perfect, it had industry and places for ponies to live.
"Now, all that I need to do is separate from equestria and become our own nation in the skies." Rainbow said to herself.
Celestia had took notice of the giant flying metal city pretty quickly and decided to speak with its new 'mayor'.
"So, why sis you turn a factory into a city?" Celestia asked, carefully watching the mare in front of her.
Rainbow dash had planned for all of this. She may look like an unintelligent pony, but in reality, that is but a mask. Her iq is higher than most scientists. So she put on another mask and said. "Well we wanted to expand our horizon. With ponies living on our city, they can expand industry by bringing business and new employees. Plus with everything that had happened on the ground would mean it would be safer in the sky. Plus any pony can come up here, not just pegasus's. But what I am getting at is that we want to be an independent nation."
A look of surprise briefly crossed celestias face before her calm returned. "So you want to be an independent nation to expand business. And why should I do it?" Celestia said, testing the waters.
"Well, think about it. With us being a separate nation, we can trade goods. And because we would have no ties with your diarchy, we can bring non-ponies into our nation." Rainbow said, already thinking what to do with her upcoming nation.
"Those sound like fair reasons. I will grant your request of separation from equestria." Celestia said as with this as a flying trade nation would be interesting.
Rainbow was nearly ready. She had the weapons, she had the nearly indestructible flying fortress, and finally, she had the separation from equestria. Of course there where some bonuses, like that changeling we captured, and now being able to shape shift like them. And of course the technology skyrocketing as well. So with years of planning coming to fruition. She invaded equestria.
Celestia was busy talking to luna when a castle gaurd ran into the room.
"CELESTIA, LUNA, WE ARE BEING INVADED!!" The gaurd yelled clearly panicking.
"What?!? By who?" Luna asked.
"THE RAINBOW NATION OF the sky!!!" The gaurd continued running I'm circles.
"Ok, why should we worry? All they have is being in the air?" Celestia asked.
"THEY HAVE MANAGED TO CREATE DEATH BEAMS!!!!!!!!" The gaurd yelled before passing out.
With the gaurd passed out, they ran out of the castle to find utter chaos.
Ponies running for there lives, entire buildings that stood for centuries crumbling under the barrage of raintropalus.
So without speaking, the two sisters nodded at each other, and flew at the flying fortress. Which fired beams of pure rainbow plasma at them. Thankfully, they fought against a lot of foes, so doing lazers? Easy! Except for the introduction of rainguns(2). With both beams and small projectiles, they got hit a few times, which hurt more than being hit by tirek.
But nothing stopped them. So when they finally reached the too, the where disheartening to find only a quarter actually fired at them. And the rest where waiting for them.
So battered and tired, they continued to fight. Even when they almost die from the bullets. They fought until they reached rainbow dash, the one behind everything.
"You won't win! We have you now! So let's get you into the dungeons." Luna said as they where relieved at finally reaching rainbow.
"Hehehe, HAHAHAHAH!" The two sisters where confused when rainbow laughed. But was quickly replaced by dread. "Canterlot mountian is gone. It's now canterlot crater."
With dread, the sisters looked over the edge towards canterlot. Only to be met by empty space. And a smoking hole in the ground.
The sisters couldn't take it and fell onto the ground, passed out from there injuries and from shock st seeing there home, gone.
All rainbow could do was smile at her win. And soon raintropalus will be all there is.

(2) the guns rainbow mentioned.

Sonic explored the unnerving landscape alone, being disturbed by the eerie red glowing sky with geometric shapes floating like there was no gravity. Not to say he was unnerved but he was definitely was creeped out. That and the combination of silent and empty streets made sonics skin crawl the only noise was distant machinery.
The landscape made no sense, it twisted as folded in on itself, like a 2d world transformed into a 3d environment. Worse yest was the shadows that stretch across the world, looming.
Buttoning tried to ignore the terrifying reality and ran, all he could do was run. There was nothing, not even a breeze.
Eventually sonic reached an entrance to a boss arena, he could finally let loose.
Metal watched as his double walk into the gaurdian arena, not even realizing what was in store for him.
He looked down at the emerald in his grasp. All he would need is the power of the core, then he will evolve into a being greater than sonic.
He dashed of, his damaged form sparking in disrepair, planning for his inferior self's destruction.
Sonic was confused, the inside was bigger on the Inside, yet smaller at the same time, the environment shifting and changing rapidly. A maze of shifting metal and wires.
It wasn't long until sonic finally reached the center, only to find a pedestal, with a weird keycard on it.
Shrugging, sonic took it, only to freeze as his instincts screamed at him to run and hide.
"HEDGHOG FOUND: PREPRING FOR LAUNCH." A metallic and menacing voice ringing out as sonic lept away, a mess of metal crushing were he was a second ago, the platform around him rising into the sky, lightning striking all around him.
In front of sonic was a robot he never seen before, it was purple and red, one arm being a machine gun, with the other being a glowing sword. It was flying above the ground, it's menacing eye looking right at sonics soul.
Sonic felt like panicking as it fired projectiles faster than sonic could run, causing sonic to run without thought, the bullets destroying the floor behind him, revealing red static.
But thankfully for sonic, the machine gun arm overheated, causing the egg warrior to use its sword.
So with sonic being able to breath, he struck at its Machine gun while dodging the sword. Unfortunately the machine gun was ready to fire again, causing sonic to run again. The floor disappearing behind him, and causing sonic to jump to floating debris.
Sonic was so focused on dodging that he was almost was chopped in half by the sword as the egg warrior entered melee range.
Sonic quickly recovered from the shock and managed to destroy the most dangerous part of the warrior, the machine gun blowing up.
"WARNING: RANGED OFFENSE DESTROYED. DEPLOYING SECOND STAGE."
"Wait what.-" was all sonic could get out as the warrior morphed, it's blade becoming longer, and a new arm sprouting from the destroyed one. Swords appearing all around the new egg warlord. The swords cutting through anything it comes into contact with.
"OK this is bad." Sonic commented as he dodged the thousands of swords swinging at him. The swords moving erratically.
Sonic had to run, it was all he could do if he didn't want to be mince meat. Luckily though the swords soon disapates as the egg warlord runs out of power, letting sonic hit its sword arm, damaging it before the swords reappeared, causing sonic to dodge again, some of the weapons hitting him, but sonic didn't let that stop him as he jumped to the land around him, dodging the swarm of swords. Letting the swords destroy the floating rocks to buy some time.
Soon the swords dissapates once again, letting sonic hit the arm again, destroying it.
"ERROR: ALL WEOPONS DESTROYED, ACTIVATING SELF DESTRUCT." The egg warlord said before it start to shake as the platform chunks start to fall back onto the ground, gravity resulting itself on the rubble.
"Sh*t, I have to get out of its detonation zone!" To say Sonic was not having a good day would be an understatement, the warlord blowing up behind him as sonic ran down the falling rubble, gaining speed. He needed to leave fast.
Aleph was tired. She had been beaten by the fake metal more times than she could count, but she had finally defeated it, and just in time aswell, she saw the madness that was the island and could barely comprehend it, the twists turning into nowhere, and the eerie atmosphere was concerning.
But that was nothing compared to the fight. It was dangerous and thrilling. It was more dangerous than metal, and he was a beast. And it's second form was terrifying, with hundreds of swords attacking at every angle, with every second being a fight for your life! And with the floor being destroyed only leaving few chunks of land to stand on.
It was crazy, and aleph wanted to fight sonic now, as he was amazing, he had beat odds that were heavily stacked against him. And she wanted to meet him. But she couldn't not think about eggman though, as he had created these machines so what kind of intellect did ge have?
Metal looked at the big explosion as he hid by the door, the fox studying it as he waited for his moment. He was thruming with anticipation.
Tails examined the door in front of him, requiring a keycard to open, so with this knowledge, he called sonic.
"Hey sonic, I found out you had to find a keycard, so please search for one."
"Alteady done little pal." Sonic said behind him, causing tails to jump and turn. "Oh sorry to startle you." Sonic said trying to calm him down. "I got this kaycard you wanted."
"Oh, thank you sonic." Tails said as he took the keycard and opened the door. Revealing an engine room.
But before either of them could react, metal sonic rushed past them, running to the main engine and placing the emerald inside it, and attaching himself to the engine core.
And right before sonic and tails terror and awe, metal changed. Its- no his body becoming sharper, the hands becoming claws, and his eyes becoming refind, a mouth appearing on his face, his legs became longer and more powerful, cannons growing out of his body, and most different of all, his weakpoint being filled out, a fake emerald appearing there.
"Who, looks like you got an upgrade, now who are you!" Sonic asked as metal laughed.
"MY NAME IS METALIC CHAOS!!" Metal Proclaimed laughing. "AND I AM THE SUPPEREOR SONIC!!"
