Premonition: Sunset's Dream - The Ruined World

A massive beast was looming over all of Equestria, as ponies, moogles, and digimon alike all weeped over a dead female moogle. A few moments ago, everything had seemed so bright and cheerful, until a Bangaa had slit the through of the female Moogle who was now dead. It was a grusome sight to behold. As soon as that had occurred, the massive beast magically appeared and began terrorizing the landscape. Their first act was to kill the Bangaa that had killed the female moogle. But their rampage did not end there; laser beams were being fired out of the beast's mouth, destroying homes and taking the lives of many.

"How...how did all this happen?" A pony asked.

"Is there any way we could've stopped this? Any way at all?!" A digimon exclaimed.

Suddenly without warning, it felt like the entire world was being reset to an earlier point in time...

Canterlot Castle
Sunset's Room

Sunset suddenly sat up while being soaked in a cold sweat, with her mentor Princess Celestia looking over here as she did so. "Sunset, did you have a nightmare over your brother again?" Celestia asked her student.

Sunset wiped her forhead with a hoof. "No. That one...that one was different." Sunset said. "There was this beast that was destroying the entire landscape, killing all sorts of creatures and destroying all sorts of homes."

"Geez sis, sounds like a crazy dream." A yellow dragon said. This yellow's dragon's name is Ray, Sunset's adopted dragon brother.

"I wonder if it was really a dream at all." Celestia said. "Could you have the same ability as me?"

"What sort of ability is that, Princess?" Sunset asked.

"The ability to forsee the future. If what you shows signs of coming true, then you need to do whatever you can to prevent it from fully awakening." Celestia said.

"R-right..." Sunset said. "I only wished I could've done the same with my brother."

"Are you still thinking about the fight you had with him? The fight in regards to 'Glim-glam'?" Celestia asked.

Sunset nodded. "There's a part of me, that wonders why the last thing I did, was get in a heated argument with my brother. If...if I had known he was going to run away...maybe...maybe I could've done something that would've prevented it."

"We can't change the past, my young student, only the future." Celestia said. "Now, get some rest. While you won't have any lessons tomorrow, and it is the weekend, I would appreciate it if you got some air away from the castle for a change. It may just help clear your mind."

"...That sounds better than nothing." Sunset said before she went back to sleep.

But what neither the princess nor Sunset realized, is that what Sunset dreamed about, was the original future for what would happen to all Equestria. Fate was beginning to intervene, and soon, many fates would be rewritten; and a death would be prevented.
