Princess Misty!” The earth pony mare behind the desk was shocked to see two of the three royal sisters in the orphanage. “Hello Mrs. Harper, my sister and I would like to adopt a filly or foal please,” Pipp said proudly. “W-wait, adopt!?” Mrs. Harper said, shockingly, trying her best to wrap her head around what she just heard. Misty nodded softly, unable to look the mare in the eyes. Being excited at what Pipp said, Mrs. Harper started grabbing some files for them to look at and forms to fill out, but then something clicked in her mind as she soon quickly remembered something that confused her about the situation going on. “W-wait y-you two are sisters, right?” The mare asked awkwardly. Both Misty and Pipp looked at each other and then looked at Mrs. Harper, they both nodded trying to figure out where she was going with this. “And you two want to adopt?” She asked even more awkwardly. Again, both Misty and Pipp nodded, still unable to understand what she was Implying. “A-are you two, g-going to adopt a filly or foal, t-together?” Mrs. Harper asked, trying her best to not be rude, but she was just a little weirded out by this and she had to know. Pipp instantly realized what she was talking about and quickly gave an explanation, “Oh, no, no, no, no, no, we are both wanting to adopt a filly or a foal separately, we are not in any sort of secret relationship or anything like that," Pipp said as she smiled sheepishly trying not to laugh. "To tell you the truth, and please don’t say this to anypony, but I can’t have kids myself, I have a medical condition that makes it almost impossible for me to get pregnant," Pipp said as she blushed, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Misty on the other hoof just doesn’t want to get married, let alone go through the process of pregnancy and childbirth, she got especially scared when she heard Zipp giving birth to Shining,” Pipp continued. Mrs. Harper’s eyes widened once she heard Pipp, she became very apologetic, especially to Pipp once she knew she couldn’t have foals of her own. “Well, thank you so much for clarifying that, we have many fillies and foals here eagerly waiting to get adopted, and I’m sure they will be especially thrilled to know that royalty will be the ones choosing them.” She said very giddily. Pipp winced at the last part, something that Mrs. Harper instantly realized, “Oh is something wrong?” “Well, we do not want them to know that it is us that will be adopting, we do want to set up interviews, but we want to be hidden from them, Misty here has a spell that would change our appearance and voices, we want to meet them for who they are, not a show of them because they are trying to impress us, since we are royalty,” Pipp told her, hoping it’s ok for them to do that. Mrs. Harper smiled gently, “I understand, by the rules, the ponies that want to adopt do have to be here personally, but given what you just said, I will bend the rules just a little, I will allow for the two of you to be in disguise, but you will have to reveal to them who you two are before the final papers are signed, for the adoption, they will make the final decision whether or not they do want to go with you, and if they don’t, then I won’t allow for you to sign the papers, understood?” Misty and Pipp nodded eagerly, “Thank you so much, Mrs. Harper,” Misty said softly. “Oh please, call me Lilly. Mrs. Harper is too formal,” she said as she started to gather everything. “So how do we start?” Pipp asks as she jumps up and starts to fly a little, unable to keep her excitement. “Can we see some of the kids right now? Misty can temporarily cast the spe—” “Before we meet the children, you two will have to fill these out and go through a background check and you will have to tell me where you will be living, by law I can’t allow for them to live in the palace, sadly. This is for equal rights and fair gains,” Lilly said, as she handed both Pipp and Misty a folder full of documents. “Oh, pshhhh, we are way ahead of you with that last one, I have a house in Bridelwoods and Misty has her home here in Zephyr Heights,” Pipp said proudly. “Oh well, ok then, will have to send a team to go check out your houses as well as see where the kids would be sleeping in, we will have to discuss about their education, they are right now enrolled in Zephyr Elementary, so you are ok with that one Misty, but with you Pipp, we will have to see the schools of Bridlewood to make sure that is a proper place for them,” She said happy to know that that was not going to be an issue on Misty's end. “That will be fine by me,” Pipp said proudly. “Ummm, if you will be doing a background check…” Misty said sheepishly. “Oh we all know about your past Princess Misty, and we know very well that you are not that pony anymore, we will have to look into it, but most likely it will be disregarded and you should be fine,” Lilly said as she placed a hoof on Misty’s shoulder. “Th-thank you,” Misty said as she looked at Lilly. “Well ok then, the process will be slow, and you two won’t be able to meet any of the kids just yet, that would probably be delayed until next month, also the kids you do choose will have to live with you for a month, so I don’t know how your disguise will work, but you two can figure it out I hope,” Lilly said as she walked them out of the orphanage. “The magic can be stored in a necklace, all I will have to do is charge it up every week, we can go to Maretime Bay and I can charge them up when we are alone,” Misty said as she took out her book and flipped it opened, she stopped at a page and showed it to Lilly, allowing for her to see what Misty was talking about. “Well, that sounds ok to me, so like I said, the process will be slow, but hopefully, eventually, you two will be able to adopt a filly or foal in the future. “Thank you, Lilly,” Pipp said as she hugged her and flew out of the door. “This means a lot to us,” Misty said as she too hugged her and left. “I know it does and you’re welcome,” Lilly said softly as she closed the doors. Author's Note Now this is something risky for sure Chapter 2: Pipp’s MidnightThe process of filling out the paperwork and going over the rules took more than a month, four months to be exact. The ponies that ran the orphanage were very strict and they made sure Misty and Pipp understood what they were getting themselves into if they did succeed in adopting one of their kids. “Princess Pipp, I would like to remind you one more time before we start the interviews. Please don’t adopt if you are doing this for more followers and fame, kids are not a tool for any of that, they are ponies after all, not only that but these are young ponies with a bright future ahead of them, understand?” Lilly said as she was looking over a small list of fillies and colts that were chosen by the orphanage to hopefully be a good match for her. Pipp was making sure her disguise looked perfect, she resembled a unicorn with a snow-white coat and pink mane and tail, the necklace around her neck gave her this appearance and it even granted her the ability to levitate small or light objects and it even changed her cutie mark to three small stars, “I understand perfectly well, Lilly, I truthfully and honestly want to take care of a little filly or colt, with me unable to have kids of my own. This is the next best thing. Fame is the furthest thing from my mind, I won’t be sharing any videos of her or any pictures with any of my followers or online in general; just to close friends and family. We will be just like a normal mother and child. Oh and remember, it’s Twinkle Shine.” “Very well then, I trust you, just remember, if you do break that rule, we will have to take the kid away and sadly blacklist you, this will make it impossible for you to adopt in any place.” She said sternly. “And as I said, I understand perfectly.” She said, already getting a little tingly at the thought of her possibly becoming a mother. Lilly giggles at Pipp’s excitement, loving the fact that she really does want to be a mother, she wishes to herself that she could find a filly or colt that she can love as if they were her own, “Well the way we do things here is simple, five minutes of introductions and after that, you will read the question from here, they will have their own questions as well, you two will have ten minutes to ask as many of these questions as possible and after that, we will separate you two and ask if you feel as if they could be a good candidate, they will be asked if they feel as if you will be a good mother to them. How they respond and how they act as well as how you respond and how you act will determine if we feel as if they can be considered a good candidate.” “Alright, sounds like a good system. How many fillies and how many colts?” Pipp asked, desperate and eager to open the door now. “In total, it’s eight fillies and eight colts, hopefully, that isn’t too much, this will take a while and we are sorry if you do have something important to get to,” Lilly said as she placed a hoof on the door. “No, not at all, the more the merrier, I can't wait to meet them!” Pipp said as she was already wanting to just burst through the door to get started. Lilly giggles at Pipp’s excitement and goes ahead and opens the door, letting Pipp go in first, which Pipp was all too happy about. “I will be right here next to the door, I will be seeing your interaction and that will also help determine if the kid will be a good candidate,” Lilly said as she went ahead and sat down next to the door.” The room itself was a play area, and a table was in the middle. Pipp tried to fly, but she forgot that the disguise didn’t allow her to fly and once she jumped up in the air, she instantly fell on her face. “Oh my goodness, are you ok!?” Lilly yelled as she went to help Pipp up. “I-I’m fine…” Pipp said as she got up, her eyes swirling, she shook her head, regaining her bearings. She went ahead and sat on the chair meant for the adults and waited for the first filly or foal to come in. And so it began, Pipp had a lot of fun talking to so many fillies and colts and thanks to her disguise, the fillies and colts were not trying their best to impress her, she could feel how they acted and how they felt about her. A little over five hours had passed and things looked like they were going smoothly, but there was only one problem. “I-I don’t think none of them were the right one for me, they were all lovely and I wish I could give them all a home to live in, but I couldn’t really feel a connection with any of them,” Pipp said as she slumped down in defeat next to Lilly. Lilly placed a gentle hoof on her shoulder. “Actually we determined that two out of the sixteen foals were a possible candidate for you, a filly named Light Sky and a colt named Wild Vines," Lilly said reassuringly. Pipp's eyes reignite with renewed hope. “Well alright then, bring them in, we will see if they do feel like going home with me,” Pipp said as she was ready to see how this would go. “Remember in the end it will be the decision of the filly and colt if they do want to go with you or not,” Lilly said as she was about to open the door, only the door opened by itself. Both mares were confused, as a little black unicorn with a snow blue mane and aqua eyes poked her head in. “Midnight, what are you doing? It’s eight thirty, you should be going to bed,” Lilly said as she opened the door more allowing the little filly to come in, as the little filly walked in, Pipp noticed that she didn’t have a cutie mark, which caught Pipp’s eye. “I… ummm… I had… a… ummm, n-night… nightmare…” the little filly said very sheepishly, showing that she was very shy and unable to talk properly to others. “Awww, sweetie, come here,” Lilly said as she hugged the little filly. “Midnight?” Pipp said as she looked at the little filly, she didn’t understand why, but something told her to get to know her. “Oh, Miss Shine, this is Midnight Sparkle, she wasn’t one of the fillies that were chosen for you, we didn’t think she would have been a good candidate,” Lilly said as she grabbed the little filly and placed her on her back, “I will just go and tuck her…” “Wait, w-will it be ok if I have an interview with her?” Pipp asked before she could even think. “Oh, ummm, I guess?” Lilly said, very confused, but she walked with Midnight on her back and allowed for her to sit down on the chair across from Pipp. “Midnight, this is Twinkle Shine, Twinkle Shine, this is this is Midnight Sparkle. Midnight, Miss Shine here is a fashion designer, she lives in Bridlewoods and loves to work with nature,” Lilly explained as she went to go sit next to the door. As Lilly said what Twinkle was and where she lived, her eyes widened as if she was told that she would be meeting her favorite celebrity. “You’re a fashionista and live in Bridlewoods!?” Midnight yelled out in shock. Lilly was a little shocked at Midnight’s response, normally she is extremely shy and unable to talk, but hearing her yell like this, made her feel happy that she has opened up a little. Pipp chuckled a little at her reaction, “Yeah, I do also sing a little, but as a hobby, I go to the local tea café every month to show off some of my designs and to sing a little.” Pipp said, loving her enthusiasm. “Tell me, how old are you, what do you like to do to have fun and do you have any friends?” Pipp asks Midnight as she composed herself. Midnight quickly got shy once she was asked the questions, but she still tried her very best to answer, “W-well, I’m… ummm… s-six, I… ummm… l-like to… draw… m-mostly… ummm… d-dresses… but also some… ummm… landscapes…” Pipp waited for her to answer her third question, but Midnight just stayed quiet which made Pipp worry. “Y-you don’t have to answer that last one,” She said as she reached a hoof to her. Midnight grabbed her hoof, this made her feel better and helped her gain a little more confidence to speak a little more, “W-well… ummm…I do have… one… f-friend…” “Oh, and what would his name be?” Pipp asked. “H-his… ummm… name is… ummm… T-thunder S-strike…” She said sheepishly. “That’s a lovely name, is he here or does he have a family of his own?” Pipp asked sincerely. “…” Midnight wasn’t able to answer that one, but because she wasn’t able to answer, Pipp was able to quickly understand that he was here in the orphanage with her. “Well… why don’t we go to another question, I can tell this one is a little sensitive for you,” Pipp said trying her best to not make her feel bad. “You said you draw, and some of those drawings are dresses, will it be ok if I see a few?” Pipp asks, hoping to make her feel better. Almost as if a flip was switched, Midnight was very excited, she looked at Lilly, with pleading eyes, wanting desperately to receive permission. Lilly simply nodded, she looked at the time and just shrugged, not really caring how long it would take. As soon as she got approval, Midnight leaped out of her seat and went out of the room. A few minutes later, she came back with a small stack of papers in her magic and with so much excitement, she hopped on the seat and presented her work to Pipp. “Here they are, Miss Shine, my dress drawings, I even brought a few of my landscape ones, I hope you like them!” She said, almost shouting because of her panting from all the running. “Pipp looked over the drawings and she was extremely impressed, the dress drawings were amazing, it’s as if an expert had drawn them. The detail and amount of care these drawings had was nothing short of incredible, even the landscapes were incredible, they were made using crayons, but the way she used them, it’s as if she was using oil pastels, so much detail in the trees and flowers, the mountain looked amazing, they looked so real, some pony might mistake these as windows if they get hung up, “Y-you made these?” Pipp asked, wondering how a six-year-old had the art talent of a master artist. Midnight nodded eagerly, she could tell that by how shocked the mare in front of her looked, she was very impressed, “Yes Ma’am, they were all made by me.” Pipp looked at Lilly, all Lilly did was simply nod, confirming that Midnight was in fact the pony that made these works of art. “They are wonderful, everything here is amazing, some of these dresses, I wish I could make them myself, I only make simple looking dresses, like sundresses and skirts, but these… W-would it be ok if I take one or two, I would love to push myself to make them a reality,” Pipp said as she picked up two of the drawings. “What about you take them all…” Lilly said, “Take them all and you may also take Midnight with you, Twinkle Shine,” she added. “Yes please!” Pipp yelled, this terrified both Midnight and Lilly. “W-well, Midnight, it looks like Miss Shine would be more than happy to take you for a month, what do you say, Sweetie,” Lilly asks, stumbling a little because of her getting scared for a second. Midnight didn’t say anything at first, but she soon mustered up enough courage to say something, “W-what… ummm… Th—” “Don’t worry about Thunder Strike, if you want to, to make you feel better, we can set up a little play date every week. We can bring him to Bridlewoods so that the two of you could hang out for a little if you are ok with these arrangements,” Lilly said as she had a hopeful look. Midnight didn’t know what to say, she turned to Twinkle Shine, and the soft smile she had, put her mind at ease, she turned to Lilly and nodded softly, agreeing to the plan. “Well alright then, let’s set up the arrangements and tomorrow you can come and pick her up, Miss Shine,” Lilly said relieved she said yes. Pipp wasn’t able to contain her excitement, she looked at Midnight, wanting to pick her up and fly up in the air as she hugged her, but due to her not having wings because of her disguise, Pipp grabbed Midnight, wrapping her in a hug as she twisted in midair causing her to fall on her back with Midnight on her belly. “Oh my goodness, are you two ok?!” Lilly asked as she ran to the two. “Y-yeah, I’m so sorry, I just forgot I can’t fly. Are you ok, Midnight?” Pipp asked, hoping what she said wouldn’t expose herself. Midnight just started to giggle, something about her feeling such raw love made her feel warm inside and she wasn’t able to contain it and soon she burst out in laughter. Pipp and Lily were relieved that she was ok and both soon joined in the laughter. As the day ended, Pipp said her goodbyes and left to go rest, she took off her disguise and flew to the palace and was very much excited for the next day. As she prepared for bed, she fell to her knees and started praying to whatever god or deity that her time with Midnight goes well and that she could hopefully adopt the shy filly. She has a lot of potential and she wants to help her, she knows the rules she has to follow and she will make sure none of them are broken and that everything will go well. Author's Note I don’t know how adoption works, so I went with what I wanted lol, hope y’all liked it Chapter 3: Midnight With PippThe day Midnight arrived at Bridlewood, she was immediately astonished at how the woods looked. Pipp, who was currently in disguise as Twinkle Shine, a white unicorn with a pink mane and three small stars as a cutie mark, giggled at Midnight’s reaction once they entered the forest, “It’s as if you have never been here,” she said as she looked at the little filly. Midnight shrunk a little, but she still gave Pipp a response, “W-well… ummm… I-I wasn’t… ummm… born… ummm… h-here…” Once Pipp heard this, she was in shock at hearing this, “Oh… I’m sorry I guess I'm used to knowing that all unicorns are born here in Bridlewood. Where were you born, if you don’t mind me asking? Midnight hid her gaze from Pipp as she spoke softly, almost inaudible, “Z-zephyr… H-heights…” Pipp felt sorry for the little filly, she must have felt so isolated being a unicorn in a city of Pegasi. She went to wrap a wing around her but due to her not being a pegasus she simply lightly bumped into her. Midnight was a little confused at Pipp’s actions and she sheepishly asked, “W-what… ummm… are you…. ummm… d-doing… M-miss S-shine?” Pipp quickly realized what she was doing and just ended up chuckling, “O-oh, hahaha, I’m sorry, it’s a force of habit, anytime my older sister is feeling down, I always bump into her, to annoy her, just a little bit to make her smile again.” “O-oh… ummm… ok…” was all Midnight said, as she continued to walk with Pipp to the house. As they got close to the house, which was built into a tree like all the others, Midnight’s jaw dropped due to how big and how beautiful it looked. Compared to the other houses, it looked to be three times bigger and parts of it even had some gold trims and a few jewels in some areas. “Y-you… l-live… h-here?” She said, trying her best to take it all in. “Yeah, when I saw this tree, I knew instantly that this tree had to be the house for an artist, and what better artist than me,” Pipp said as she winked at Midnight. “T-this p-place… l-looks like… it’s f-for o-one of the p-princess…” Midnight said softly as she walked closer to the house. Pipp followed her and giggled at Midnight’s comment, “Oh, pshh, me a princess, I wish I could make a dress for them, but my skills are not there yet, hopefully, one day, but for now I still need to improve,” Pipp sad as she placed a hoof on the door. “Y-you… a-are so… m-motivated,” Midnight said as she was readying herself to see how the inside looked. “From the moment I was born, I was the center of attention, I was showered with gifts and was almost given the throne, but my older sister was the one that was actually in line for it, but I don’t mind, I still get to do what I love and that is fine by me,” Pipp said as she walked Midnight to her room. Midnight stopped as soon as she heard her words, “T-thro-throne?” She said a bit scared, “N-next in l-line?” Pipp stopped dead in her tracks, she had completely forgotten she was in disguise, she had to think fast, hoping she could find a way to get out of this situation, “W-well, ummmm, you see my family is very well off when it comes to money, so much so that my sisters and I like to pretend we are the royal sisters, our mother will one day retire and she is wanting to give the company to my older sister, which we like to call, “The Throne,” just because it makes it sound more royal like.” Midnight was very confused, she didn’t know what to think or what to really say, all she did was nod a little as she continued to walk past Pipp. Pipp on the other hoof was glad that the lie worked, she let out a small sigh as she went to catch up with Midnight, “So are you ready to see your room?” Pipp asked excitedly. Minding nodded a little more eagerly than she expected, she couldn’t wait to have her own room and her own space. Pipp went ahead and opened the door and again, midnight’s jaw dropped. The room was beautiful, the walls were not painted, and the windows were big enough to allow enough light to come in making it so that one doesn’t need to turn on the lights when it’s day, this allowed for the tree that the house is made into to give the room a more natural look, the bed was a big queen size mattress with lavender sheets and eight pillows that matched the sheets. There was an elegant chandelier hanging from the ceiling that was perfect to light the room when it got dark. The closet was also something that made Midnight more shocked, it was as if it was a small room, it even had a full-length three-sided mirror inside so that she could look at herself when she is changing, but that wasn’t the thing that had caught her eyes the most, in a corner of the room was a desk with a few sheets of paper, three mannequins and a few beginners sewing supplies. When Midnight got closer to the desk she realized that those weren’t just some pieces of paper, but those were her designs. “Th-these…” was all she managed to say before Pipp got her attention again. “Go and look inside the closet, that’s not the only thing that would surprise you,” Pipp said Midnight listened to her and went to go check the closet more thoroughly, and for a third time she was shocked beyond belief, inside was a magnificent dress, made with sky-blue silk, it resembled a dress only a princess would wear to a ball. A piece of paper flew into her view catching Midnight off guard. “Oh sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” Pipp said as she floated the piece of paper in front of her. It took a second for Midnight’s to fully understand what the piece of paper was. It was one of the dresses she drew, she looked between the drawing and the dress in front of her. She realized that the dress she drew had become a reality. At that point, Midnight couldn’t hold it any longer, a few small tears fell from her eyes, something that Pipp noticed immediately, “M-midnight, a-are you al—” Without any warning, Midnight dove into Pipp wrapping her in a tight hug, “T-thank you, Miss Shine” Pipp hugged her back gently appreciating that she was ok, “You’re welcome, sweetie, and please call me Twinkle, Miss Shine is just way too formal and I haven’t actually adopted you just yet, so “Mom” or “Mommy” doesn’t feel right either,” “Ok, Twinkle, but what if I accidentally call you Mom or Mommy?" Midnight asked curiously. “If you do, then we will go back to the orphanage and force them to let me adopt you right now,” Pipp said as she giggled. Midnight also joined in the giggling, with how things are going right now, both Pipp and Midnight are wishing that they could be a family one day. That night, Pipp tucked Midnight in her bed, she gave her a small kiss on her forehead and went to go out of the room, “T-twinkle?” Midnight asked, a little scared. “Yes, Midnight?” Pipp turned around to look at her, hoping everything was ok. “W-would…” she said, unable to say the final words. “You want me to come sleep with you?” Pipp asked, a little nervous, but also hopeful. Midnight nodded, burying her face under the covers. Pipp looked down at her necklace, she saw that the time she had left to maintain the disguise was still a little over a week left of charge before she had to recharge, smiling to herself, she softly walked around the bed and hopped on in, she got under the sheets with Midnight. Once she was settled in, Midnight softly moved over to Pipp, Pipp wrapped her hooves around her, a little disappointed that she couldn’t use her wings, but seeing Midnight now fast asleep in her arms took away the disappointment and was replaced with love and hope. She again kissed Midnight’s forehead before she slowly allowed herself to relax and fall asleep. Author's Note Looks like everything is going well with them. What do y’all think? Chapter 4: Misty’s ThunderThe day Pipp was able to take a foal home, she sent Misty a text, she forgot to mention the name of the filly that she took home. Misty was going to send a text to Pipp asking for the name, but the door to the room opened, making Misty forget what she was about to do. The process for her also took a long time, about four months as well. Some of the ponies of the orphanage were a little cautious of her, due to her past, but soon when they heard the full story, they became more sympathetic and granted her permission to go on with the adoption. Misty looked up and saw that Lilly had walked in, “Hey Misty, I just wanted to say that we are about to start, I will say it’s best to put on your disguise so that we can start,” “Alright,” Misty said as she lit up her horn, letting loose a magic aura that covered herself. Once the magic faded Misty now looked completely different, her coat was now completely gray and her mane was no longer red, purple, and curly, it was now replaced with a silky blond mane, she also had wings on her back, giving her the ability to fly, but not too high or for too long. Her cutie mark was also no longer a butterfly but was now replaced with four bubbles. “M-my name will be, Dinky Hooves…” Misty said, looking at Lilly a little scared. “A pegasus, an interesting choice. Do those wings actually work?” Lilly said as she pointed at Misty’s wings. “Y-yeah, but I can’t fly that high, it’s only up to ten feet and only for about five minutes, after that the wings would slowly lose their magic and I will go back to the ground, unharmed…” Misty said as she flapped them a little causing her to fly a little, “I have been practicing some of the pegasus’s wing languages as well and I have flown a few times to getting used to using them, so I feel like I would be ok with this one," *Oh that’s nice,” she said as she wrote down something on her clipboard. “Alright, the rules are simple, five minutes of introductions, and after that, you will read the questions from here, they will have their own questions as well, and you two will have ten minutes to ask as many of these questions as possible and after that, we will separate you two and ask if you feel as if they could be a good candidate, they will be asked if they feel as if you will be a good mother to them. How they respond and how they act as well as how you respond and how you act will determine if we feel as if they can be considered a good candidate.” Misty nodded as she got on the chair and got ready to meet the first filly or foal, “How many will I be meeting today?” “In total, it’s sixteen foals, eight fillies, and eight colts, hopefully, that isn’t too much, this will take a while and we are sorry if you do have something important to get to,” Lilly said as she placed a hoof on the door. “I don’t have any plans for today, so this can go for as long as it needs to go for,” Misty said, hopeful that she would be able to find the right filly or colt for her to take in as her own today. “Well that’s good to know, because your sister took a little over five hours before she found the perfect foal, so we will be here for a while,” Lilly said as she opened the door. Misty’s ears flattened a little as she heard how long it was going to take, but she was still excited to meet the kids, no matter how long it was going to take. “Well, if you are ok with it, then let’s get started,” Lilly said as she signaled for the first filly to come in. And so it started, Misty went on for a little over six hours, and she was given a little extra time to talk to the kids due to her being shyer, which was nice because she was able to get more comfortable with them to talk to them properly, but sadly, none seemed like a good match for her. “We have a list of two possible kids, a filly and a foal, they seemed to be the closest ones that would be perfect for you to hopefully make a connection with and hopefully adopt. Would you like me to bring them in?” Lilly said as she sighed a little, remembering how difficult it was for Pipp as well. “If only the right one could just come in like how it was with Pipp,” she thought to herself. Misty nodded, her eyes a little drowsy due to how tired she was getting, “Go ahead and bring them in, I—” Just then a small pegasus colt opened the door, “Mrs. Harper…” said a young colt, he had a snow white coat, with a soft blue mane and tail with a streak of dark blue running down the side of it, and both were pretty spiky, but also nice and smooth, his eyes were amber colored. “Oh, Thunder Strike, what do you need?” Lilly said as she checked her watch, “It’s past nine-thirty, you need to be asleep.” “Well, Iron was teasing me again, I know I shouldn’t have, but well…” Thunder opened the door and revealed he was carrying another colt on his back. “Oh my, Iron!” Lilly yelled as she picked him up, “Thunder why did you do this to him, I thought I told you to come and get me if he ever gets on your nerves!” “I t-tried, but he dove onto me before I could get out of the room…” Thunder said as a tear fell from his eye. He quickly wiped it off before composing himself, “He was teasing me, telling me that Midnight would be thrown back in here and that we would spend our lives here together forever! Never to be adopted because we are not perfect… Like them…” Lilly sighed a little as she grabbed the little colt to give him a little hug as he started to cry a little, “It’s ok, that’s not going to happen, you just need to have faith in her, she has only been gone for a day, you don’t need to worry about her.” “I just miss her, she was the only one that would be nice to me and now she is gone with a stranger she has only met for a day,” Thunder said as he continued to cry softly. Misty looked at him with sadness, something told her to go and confront him and to maybe try and talk to him a little. “Lilly, would it be ok if you told me who was the one that took her yesterday?” Misty said, hoping that she could do something. “I’m sorry, but that information is not available to the public, so I sadly can't tell you,” Lilly told her, trying to wonder what she was doing. Misty walked up to Thunder, the colt a little nervous, but still putting on a brave face, “Hello, my name is Dinky Hooves, do you want to talk about what’s going on?” Thunder looked at Lilly, not knowing what to do or what to say. Lilly smiled warmly and with one hoof just gently pushed him up to Misty, urging him to talk to her. Misty smiled as she wrapped her wings around the colt, this seemed to instantly relax him as he felt the feathers of her wings, his crying softened and he was no longer trying to make himself look as tough. “He can be quite aggressive sometimes, so please be gentle with him,” Lilly said as she saw Misty hugging him. Misty picked him up with one hoof and took him to a small bed of pillows, she placed him on the pillows and laid next to him, her wing still around him. “How old are you?” Misty asked, hoping that by asking him questions it could calm him down. “I’m s-seven…” Thunder said a little scared, but also relaxed since he was still under her wing. “What’s your full name?” Misty asked him, wanting to know him better “T-Thunder Strike…” He said, still a little scared “What are some things you like to do?“ she asked. “Play guitar and go for walks…” Thunder said, opening up more. “Oh, I actually like to write some music, I actually like to play the harp, though I'm not that good at it since it’s more of a hobby and I only tend to play when I’m completely free, I actually work as a tea café manager, one of my cafés is here in Zephyr Heights actually,” Misty said, quite happy that they had found something that is somewhat in common. "Maybe we can play together sometime," Misty added. As they both talked, Lilly smiled at the sight of the two, it was as if she was seeing a mother and her child just enjoying each other’s company. “So you know a place where we could go and possibly play together!” Thunder shouted, very much excited that Dinky would love to play with him one day, despite her being very shy. “Well, the main shop is not here in Zephyr Heights, it’s in Bridlewood, there is a tea café, called the Crystal Tea Room, I know the owner and he was the one that helped me get mine up and running, it’s where I like to go from time to time, mainly to thank him and to play some music,” Misty said, happy at his enthusiasm. Thunder jumped in the air, his wings flapping in joy, “I want to go, I want to go, I want to go!” He yelled, causing Misty to laugh a little at just how excited he was. Misty suddenly realized that she might not be able to make his dream come true, as she didn’t know if she could take him. He wasn’t part of the interview, she was just trying to comfort him, dropping her head a little, she turned to look at Lilly. Lilly simply nodded, causing Misty to smile, “Well, why don’t I take you with me for the month? I did come here to adopt and was hoping to take one of you with me, but none seemed right, but you…” Misty said as she pointed at Thunder, “I feel like you and I would be happy together. I don’t know why, but I just have a gut feeling that we are a match, so what do you say, would you like to come with me for a month? To see if you and I would want to be an actual family one day?” Misty asked. Without hesitation, Thunder dove into Misty’s arms, wrapping her in a big hug, “I would love to go with you Miss Hooves…” he said, before he paused “… but, what about Midnight? We arranged for me to meet her every week, if I’m not here then—” “Those arrangements would still be active, Miss Hooves, would it be ok if every Friday you bring Thunder to Maretime Bay? Midnight and the pony that took her will be there as well, we have arranged for them to be together every Friday, and I would hate for that to not be possible.” Lilly said as she winked at her. Misty sensing something was up, agreed, but she could tell that it was nothing bad, but she was very much confused, she would have to go to Maretime Bay to refuel Pipp’s necklace… That’s when she realized, “Pipp took Midnight!?” She thought to herself. “Yes, I will definitely take him, I do have some things to do at Maretime Bay almost every Friday either way, so it would be perfectly fine for me to take him,” She said with a small smile on her lips. Iron gently groaned on the back of Lilly’s back, and broke the moment for a bit, which caused Lilly to run to the emergency room of the orphanage to tend to him. With all that done, the papers were signed, the next day Misty, wearing her disguise, went to pick up Thunder, and off they went. Author's Note Hello everyone, sorry it took so long for this one to come out, I was very busy with many stuff in life, but it’s out now, hope y’all enjoy it. Chapter 5: Night ThunderSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
Chapter 1: A Chance“Are you sure about this, Pipp?” Misty asks as she walks with her sister. “Misty, we have both wanted this for some time now, now is the best time to do this, have confidence in yourself,” Pipp said as she gently nudged Misty. “Well, yeah it’s true, but I don’t really thin-” Misty was about to say, but she was cut off by Pipp giving her a hug and a gentle push. “Come on, let’s go in, it’s time to give somepony a new life,” Pipp said as she pulled Misty into the orphanage. “Princess Pipp! Author's Note Now this is something risky for sure
Chapter 2: Pipp’s MidnightThe process of filling out the paperwork and going over the rules took more than a month, four months to be exact. Author's Note I don’t know how adoption works, so I went with what I wanted lol, hope y’all liked it
Chapter 3: Midnight With PippThe day Midnight arrived at Bridlewood, she was immediately astonished at how the woods looked.
