Hah. This is a weird dream.
Hey, I'm... Wait, why can't I remember my name? Weird dream shenanigan's, I know I have weird dreams, but they're never like this? All I see is black, dark, and quiet void. I hate quiet. Don't get me wrong, when it's too loud, I'd love a bit of quiet, but quiet for too long makes me think about scary things. And I hate scary things, never am I ever watching MLP infection horror AU again, EVER.
Hm? What are the chances my brother and sister are sharing my dream? What am I thinking, how could they possibly-
Hey, sis. Do you know where the heck we are, why are we in the same dream, why can't I see you and talk to you, and many more questions?
Oh look, it's my sis, what are the chances? But it's probably me just thinking about them, you can never share dreams unless I was to be in a magical world right now.

And the duck walked up- Hey, where am I? Guys, HUH? Oh and my brother, how very nice.
Now I shall continue. This may sound blunt, but because I wanted to test reincarnation out, I decided to kill you guys and send you off as a new creature based of changelings into the MLP universe.
You mean we're forced to go to a magical pony-dominated world where their leader will either end or maybe forgive anyone deemed dangerous?
And we get to be my favorite bug-ponies?!

Uh... Well, I had to erase your memories of your name as standard reincarnation procedures but I decided to let your keep the rest of your memories so okay-bye-hope-you-have-a-good-life!
Then, in a brilliant flash of white, I was no longer in the void.
I blinked open my eyes, I was in a moderately dark cave with some glowing crystals illuminating it. Alright... Status check! I feel something to my left and right, I have black chitin hooves with a few holes in them, I'm really small, so I'm probably a young changeling (or whatever I am) from the show, I don't think I'm hurt.
I turn my head to see what's besides me on my right, they looked like the regular changeling uh... what's the term? Nymphs? Yeah, except they had longer legs, at least twice the size of my short, stubby legs. They also had a small, bubbly, light-grey frill going down their head. The frill was dotted with white dots that glowed dimly. I couldn't see their eye color since it was closed, but it's probably around the same color as the frill. I barely noticed the thin, wire like tail that had a fluffy white spark ball on it. Other than that, everything from the show was the same. I assume I look like kinda like that.
Next was the other one who was like the other nymph but was closer to my height, they were still probably taller than me but not by that much. The only difference was everywhere that was light-grey/white was sky blue. I think those are my siblings, the light-grey one is probably my brother and the blue one my sister.
Alright, Status check done.. Next step, learn to walk on four legs! I tried to stand, and I pretty much fell face first. Trying again, I managed to actually do it! Next, walking, maybe I should imagen myself crawling? Or how ponies in the show do it, yeah, that seems much easier. Okay, you got this. I slowly put out one front right leg, the the back left leg, then the left front and the right back, then I repeat. Then I managed to make my way to a trot, not a canter tough, that would've been stupid.
My ears (Or whatever they are) perked to a shifting sound. I looked behind me to see my sister, waking up. She blinked her eyes open (yes, my assumption was correct, her eyes were the same color as her frills). Looking towards me, she took a second before saying, "Sis...?"
"Yep." I responded, walking up to her. SH looked around the cave a bit more before wobbling to her feet.
"Dang, I feel so tiny... You're so tiny... "
"Well, I think we're babies, nymphs, I think they're called."
"Nice... I'm going to learn how to walk on all fours, do whatever you want in the meantime."
"That's not really responsible... You're older than me! What can I even do? Not wander, I hope..."
She rolled her eyes (seriously, how do we do that with no pupils?), finally standing up "Stop fussing, if you want something to do go wake him up."
I have a habit of causing arguments for no good reason. Yes, I admit it, it's a bad habit. But I can't help myself, causing problems is something I'm great at! I grumbled, turning to approach my brother.
I tapped him a bit... He didn't wake up. I tapped him a little bit harder, he still didn't wake up. Well, time for plan two. I trotted over behind him and spread my fore-legs like I was giving a wide hug. Gravity did the rest for me, I fell on-top of him. He still makes a very comfortable bed, even if we aren't human anymore more.
"Ow... Get off me..." I heard him groan. Aw... no more pillow, I wiggled off him. When I sat up like a dog, I saw him staring at his holed-hooves, still laying down. Great... He's already having an existential crisis... He soon shook his head and tried to stand up. He wobbled a bit before falling back down. "Ugh... How did you do this? Can you show me?"
"Hm... Nah."
Then sis appeared beside me, "Is he wake? Good."
Brother perked at sis's voice, "Great, my other, better sister, will you help me learn to walk?"
"Hm..." she rubbed her chin with a hoof, "Nah."
"Why do both my sisters have to be so inconsiderate...?" He groaned. I decided to leave him to his own devices and wander away from where we woke up.
"Sigh... Do you really think the missing Nymphs are going to be here...?"
Huh, what was that?
"Absolutely positive! I have a feeling their here, even if the Nymph-snatcher isn't here... Plus, we need all the hatchlings we can get, even if they're normal.
Okay, that was definitely a voice... Wait, we're royals?? And we were STOLEN??
"I know that Buzzlight... I just... What if the Nymph-snatcher thought them to avoid us? What if they're... gone?
Okay, still can't take chances. I rush towards where my brother was learning to be four-legged (He succeeded I was standing tall), sis was watching him. I quickly went behind them and tried to push both of them towards a large glowing pink crystal at the side, I couldn't do that, but they seemed to get the message and rush toward the crystal to hide. Before they could ask the voice got closer.
"Okay, here we are Luxo! Oh I don't see them..." A light female voice chirped, I peeked out to get a closer look at them. There was a bigger one and a slightly smaller one. The smaller one was like sis, but a decent size bigger. The bigger one was one feet bigger than the smaller one, and it's frill, tip of it's tail and eyes were electric yellow. Then I somehow tripped over my hooves and fell face first. I think my siblings went to check up on me? I just didn't want to get up, okay? Then I felt myself get picked up, and when I looked up I was faced with the bigger ones face. It sighed in relief, wait, how was it holding me? It's horn was not glowing, all hooves were on the ground... Then... Oh, the tail, that's nice. This place is also comfortable, I'll stay here.
"Who are you...?" I heard my brothers voice mutter. The bigger ones tail swished back behind it, carry me with it. I could see my brother and sister side-by-side, my sister was looking at me.
"Oh, you can talk?" The smaller one said, surprised, "Well, at least the Nymph-snatcher taught you how to... I'm Buzzlight, and this here is my friend, Luxo, do you all have names...?"
"...Nah." I answered simply, I wasn't feeling making up names, though I could feel the glare my brother was giving me.
"Well, I suppose we should name you then. We were your caretakers and caretakers are supposed to name the brood their in charge of." Buzzlight continued, now thinking deeply.
Luxo hadn't spoke yet, she was now staring intently at me. Maybe it's my small size or something...? Then her eyes widened a bit and she... sniffed me? Um, not sure I'm comfortable with that..
"The blue one can be Firefly, the white one can be Lightray, and for the smallest one... she can be Flickers!" Heh, I like my name, I think it fits me.
"Uh, Buzzlight?" Luxo turned back to Buzzlight.
"Hm? Yeah, Luxo?"
"I think the small one is a demi-royal..." Wait... What the heck is a demi-royal? Am I royalty?!
"Wait, what?!" Buzzlight looked shocked, looking at me.
"She smells like one... Check the others."
Buzzlight went to do as told. Firefly look uncomfortable like me but Lightray wouldn't even let her, Buzzlight had to hold him just let her do it. "Yep, they all have a demi-royal scent..."
"Oh, that's just what we need right now... Thank Zeraphon we found them!" Luxo sighed in relief, I wonder what happened? Why would they need us? "We should be heading back now, Flickers seems perfectly fine in my tail-hold which is odd but I don't mind, the others can walk, they are not as fond of us as Flickers so I doubt they'd want to be carried."
We started talking down the tunnel. Hopefully, this would be a great life and hopefully nothing bad would happen yet!
Luxo suddenly stopped, and I saw why, we were at the opening of he tunnel and it led to a giant underground cave. The walls and ceiling was filled with holes and the multi colored giant crystals. There were dirt paths on the floor leading to bigger holes. From where we were to end of the giant cavern was a path leading up to giant doors built into the stone with pane glass of a sparkling, which is the name of our species, above it. It was telling a story, though I didn't know what it meant.
There were few sparklings wondering about, maybe 25? I was just guessing... Compared to Chrysalis' hive, we were absolutely tiny! Seriously, did something bad happen? Or is this a new hive?
"Let's take you to the queen. She'll be delighted to hear that you're here! Especially when you're demi-royals..." Buzzlight started to trot on again. Luxo quickly followed, seriously how have we gone this far and she can still carry me? My sibs took a second before following Buzzlight and Luxo.
"I think it was a stupid Idea that the princess did a brood this early... I know that we need all the 'lings we can get but I still feel like it was a dumb idea..." Luxo muttered.
Buzzlight snorted, "Its queen now. Parva is now a Queen! Way too soon..."
"Uhuh, if she is the queen now, why didn't you call her Parva meridiem?"
"I was one of her caretakers, she allowed me to call her Parva!"
"Yeah, yeah, we're here."
I looked up to see the massive gates, two guards were stationed there. They shot us a curious look, but opened the gate anyways. They must recognize Luxo and Buzzlight as a known figure or something, otherwise they wouldn't have let her in without asking.
I was excited, I get to meet the queen who is also my mother! And probably what's going on around here... I was practically prancing as Luxo led the way towards the Queen.
New Life Flickers (REWRITTEN!!)
Okay, our mother was not what I expect. She was sitting in a throne craved from crystals, (what is with the crystals?!) and that's if sitting means halfway on the throne while the rest of your body on the steps leading to he throne with your head stuffed in-between your front legs.
The throne room was like a regular throne room. With a yellow carpets from the door to the throne as well as those pointy-downwards-flag thing.
The queen, or our mother, perked up a tiny bit at our arrival (after MANY tunnels, my legs aren't alive anymore). She was like a regular yellow Sparkling, but with longer legs and frills, bigger size, and pupils
"Buzzlight? Luxo? Do you have any news to share? Did you find them? Find the snatcher?! Why aren't the messages delivering the news?"
"Well your majesty..." Luxo started, "We didn't find the nymph-snatcher-"
"Then don't bother, I know we didn't find the nymphs either... Who are those nymphs? Are they...?"
"They're the missing nymphs." Buzzlight stepped up. In the blink of a eye, out mother sat up properly. "And they're also demi-royals!"
"R-really?! Seems Zeraphon is still with us... May I see them?"
Buzzlight scoffed, "Parva, you're queen. You don't have to ask. These are YOUR nymphs, after all."
"Oh, r-right..." She slowly approached taking a long look, especially with Lightray and me. "What are their names?"
"This one here is Lightray, he's a bit stubborn so far but I'm sure he'll come around." Luxo used her tail to point a Lightray who was looking blankly at the floor.
"The blue one is Firefly. She's so far the calmest." She did the same to Firefly, Firefly was taking a nap, leaning on Luxo's legs, was she so bored she took a nap? I find it funny they called Firefly "the calmest" when in fact she was the complete opposite.
"And this here is Flickers!" Buzzlight chirped. I stood proud and tall, a small smile appeared on Parva's face.
"Should I take them to where Phospha is staying?" Buzzlight asked. I wonder who's Phospha?
"Yes... Thank you for finding them, you two. Luxo, you are dismissed."
Luxo walked away soon, leaving Firefly with no support to lean on. She fell sideways which woke her up. She yawned an drubbed her head before getting up. She looked bored and calm... OH! She's pretending, she's waiting, why though? Eh, I don't really care.
Buzzlight nudged us out of the corridor and lead down another hallway. And hopefully, this Phospha won't be as depressing as our mother.
Great news! Phospha is not depressed! Bad news is, she's grumpy, like, almost all of the time. Phospha is the princess, we now share a room with that and she was less than happy about that. She looked like our mother, but about the size of Lightray, and has a bigger frill.
I also got to check myself out in a mirror near my bed (I'm surprised they even HAVE beds), My Frills, eyes, and tail puff was all a light yellow color. I personally think I look cute, which I like.
I asked Phospha about why there isn't much sparklings around, she said she didn't know. None of the adults would bring it up or answer any questions yet. So, so much for that.
Our room has four beds, one at each corner. I'm at the top left corner, Firefly is at the top left corner, Lightray's on the bottom left, and Phospha's on the bottom right. The only other things we had that didn't belong to Phospha was the huge chest at the end of the room. We could get some more belongings, but other than a small desk, chair, paper, and ink, I've chosen not to cause I don't need anything else yet. Not sure about the others, though.
I was currently in bed, thinking. I was going to use the paper and ink to draw and write, but what should I write about? I don't want to do a diary, maybe a story, but about what? I looked around the room to get some tiny inspiration, but something caught the corner of my eye. It was Lightray, on the floor, by hid bed, staring at his hooves again.
I'm getting concerned, I should probably confront him. I walked up to him, he barely even noticed me till I was close. Even then, it was barely a glance.
"Hey, brother, are you okay?"
"Yeah..." He said, still staring at his hooves.
"Are you okay?" I switched to a more firmed tone. He wasn't okay, I need to know why.
"Not really..."
"Then let's talk."
He sighed, closing his eyes for a second. Before we turned into sparklings, whenever anyone in our small family said "Let's talk." you MUST tell them what's wrong, no exceptions. He looked up at me, his ears pinned to the side. "It's just... Why are we?"
"What do you mean?"
"It's just... we didn't choose to be here!" he said a bit to loudly, I shushed him a little. Can't have Phospha hearing this... "I want to go back home, Flicker..."
I sighed, I didn't really want to go back home. Besides, we're dead, for all we know it could've been decades already. ".. I understand, but pouting here isn't just going to fix to problem. I know you're hurt, and I'm not too good of a comforter... But, I love you, and I want you to be happy. Can you do that for me?" I leaned in and hugged him. He hesitated a bit before leaning into the hug, hugging me back.
"Yes, yes I can do that..."

Yawn... What time is it?
I looked up to see I was still in the cave. Okay, now I'm SURE this isn't a dream, that's great, at least. Wait, how did I get here on my bed? Last thing I remember was me trying my best to comfort Lightray... I must have fallen asleep and he carried me to bed. Thank goodness for my small size or I think It'd be impossible to lift me.
I looked around the room. No one was awake except Phospha, who was reading something. I could ask her what she was reading but it's probably morning and I don't really think she's a morning bug. Alas, curiosity took the best of me and I went over to her.
She was by her bed on the floor, laying down, her tail curled up around her. The book was in front of her and she occasionally flipped a page with what was probably her magic. She flicked a glance at me but didn't look at me further. She actually had about 5 books behind her.
"Um, hey Phospha? What are you reading?" I asked.
She didn't look up from what she was reading. "Sparkling history. Why do you ask?"
She seems less grumpy, let's poke some more information out of her. "Just a bit curious.... Where did you get them from?"
"Buzzlight got it and some others for me at my request a few days ago."
"Oh, okay." I walked away. Maybe she wasn't ALWAYS grumpy, maybe yesterday was an exception. I laid in bed, bored. Can't anything happen? Like Buzzlight walking in for some reason, I like her.
Then Buzzlight entered our room.
Wow, I'm good at guessing.
"Phospha, are the other's awake?" Buzzlight asked.
"Only Flicker, the rest are still sleeping." Phospha gestured her tail towards me.
"Ah, good morning to the two of you." She waved a holed hoof towards me, "Do you mind waking Lightray and Firefly up? Today is the start of your studies as it's been a week since all of the new nymphs' first molt."
"Not at all."
"Oh, and your mother would like me to tell you that she wants to start your first studies with her, she's meeting you at the throne room. And as for you Flickers, I need both you and your other hatchmates to come with me so I can show you the choice board."
Phospha nodded and trotted out the door. I cocked my head to the side, this is... a little complicated, "What's the choice board?"
"It's all the diffrent paths you can take, you can pick multiple as well... But for now, all Sparklings has to pick the Scout path till we get more Sparklings..." Her tone saddened a bit. Okay, what happened? WHY won't they tell us...? Suddenly, her tone became brighter and more chipper. "But first, wake them up and meet me outside the door!"
I woke up Firefly pretty easily, she's a light sleeper, and I pushed Lightray of the bed. Luckily, he didn't attempt to murder me, but I still woke him up either way. Though, he might be grumpy for the rest of the day.
Anyways, I pushed the door open with a hoof, they followed behind me. Lightray was muttering something about murder, not sure what his problem, though!
Buzzlight was humming when she noticed us. "Oh, there you are! Let's hurry, the studies should start soon."
"Where are we even going? What do you mean 'studies'?" Firefly asked.
"Oh, Flickers didn't tell you?" She glanced at me, wait, I was suppose to tell them. Oh. "I'll explain while we walk, I didn't explain fully about Paths even with Flickers."
She started trotting at a brisk pace and we matched it.
"Well, every sparkling has choose at least one path, we can choose multiple as well. You'll usually pick a path or paths with the rest of your brood but you were taken before then... Well, once you choose one, you'll get a token to signify where you belong. Once you finish your studies, you get your official badge and titles to use when your on duty, or if you have one you want to be called."
"Is that it...?" Lightray asked pretty narcissistically.
"Uh, yeah, pretty much unless I forgot something, anyways, we are here!"
In front of us was a a room with a giant stone wall. There was a giant white circle in the middle, it had 8 lines stretching out into other circles... Not too much to look out, though...
In each branching circle were diffrent color blocks, one was blue, one was orange, one was pink, one was purple, one was white, one was red, and one was pink. Each one had a name and a description beside it.
SCOUT
Scouts are the basic building blocks of Sparkling hives. Scout's do many of the jobs like expanding the hive, assisting when needed, fighting, and most of all, gathering energy for the hive to feed on. They have the highest death counts due to cave-ins, and dangerous missions.
GAURDS
Guards mainly guard the main hive as well as fight on the front lines. They often accompany important figures when leaving the hive. Their are many types of guards such as, solders, archers, brutes, and warriors.
INVENTOR
Inventors discover and make things that could help the hive with the assistance of magic and their hooves and tails. These projects are usually helpful to the hive by helping out on the battlefield, healing, and many more. This job has the second highest death count due to failed projects, mainly explosion.
MAGES
Mages are experts in magic and often help out on the battlefield, become advisors to the queen, or just continue to study magic.
HEALER
Healers are important to the hive as they fix injuries and sickness a sparkling might catch.
CARETAKER
Caretakers take care of new hatchlings, as well as act as messagers, advisors (usually if the caretaker was the caretaker of the queen).
Well, out of all of the paths I could choose, one caught my eye. Inventor. I was kind of a inventor back on earth, I made stuff out of... well, anything I found. Whether it was cardboard, metal, a person- okay, ALMOST a person. I felt like it would be fun, and I also wanted to do a bit o magic as well... I might sign for that, not as a serious role but still.
"Are you ready yet? It's going to be time soon." Buzzlight said impatiently.
"Yeah, I'm just sticking with Scout... And I guess healer?" Firefly said.
"I, uh, yeah, I want Mage." Lightray said.
"I want to be an Inventor!"
"Ah, Okay. Give me a second.." She turned around approaching a chest I did not notice before. She then pulled out three blue rocks, one red rock, one orange rock, and one purple rock.
She gave Firefly a blue rock and a red rock. Lightray a blue and purple rock. And ~~me~~ I a blue and orange rock.
"Okay, make sure you don't lose them." Buzzlight then started walking in a brisk pace. "I doubt you'd even lose them in the short time it takes to get there. Come on!"
A few things has happened. There was this boring event thingy where they called us up and blablabla, but it was SO boring I won't even mention it. For now, the only studies that are going on is Scout studies, which I think I understand. We luckily don't have anything like regular school, so if we plan to learn about history or something, we'd have to read from books.
The very first Scout lesson was bit uneventful. There was this VERY cool teacher named Fulgur that was short like me and is VERY sneaky. Is that the only reason why I think he's cool, mayybe. He gave us a quick lecture about how Scout is not just a simple role and their are many branches of it blablabla anyways he gave us test which ~~me~~ I and my siblings DESTROYED, figuratively, and literally. We were surprisingly good at the flight, especially me. I went really fast and broke some of the obstacles and it DID hurt pretty bad, butttt, I can essentially become a bullet, yes, a slow bullet, but still a bullet.
I found out a cool thing about us, and me. We eat ENERGY! Specifically active magic, like a unicorn casting a spell, or a Pegasus moving a cloud, or a earth pony growing plants... Or from sentient beings, there's always at LEAST some active magic in sentient beings.
Anyways, I cool thing I learned I can do is use my tail to sense for magic. I found out while we were doing the magic test with our tails. We can use our tail to take Energy from our Energy stores and can dispel it at the end of our tail. It went wrong and somehow I just magic LiDAR scanned the room by accident. At the end, I told Fulgur about it. He was surprised since it was a rare ability Sparklings occasionally get.
I was on my way to Inventor studies. Once I got there I sat down on a cushion. It looked someone took a section of a library and just made it into a classroom, with long tables. There was only one blue finned Sparkling that looked very nervous when I showed up. I think I was early cause there was only one other 'ling here.
Then another older looking yellow-finned Sparkling came in, yawning. He was definitely sleep deprived.
"Hello everyling- Oh, there's barely anyone here... Hm, I am High Inventor Salvis and I will be your inventor instructor. You two can introduce yourselves."
Wait. THIS IS ALL?! That's surprising, I thought more people would be here, but I guess not.
I didn't want to go first so I just looked at the blue sparkling. She looked very nervous, maybe I should've gone first...
"Don't be nervous, there's only two 'ling other than yourself, c'mon, you don't have to come to the front. Just say your name." Salvis prompted.
"Um... I'm Salus."
He turned to me, "Now you."
"Oh, well, I'm Flickers." I responded, putting my head on my table.
"Flickers? Oh, you're the demi-royal I've heard about? Never would I thought I'd see one, especially attending my class, but I suppose anything can change."
Salvis stepped a bit closer, "Now both of you tell me what being an Inventor means."
I raised my head and decided to speak up first. I don't think Salus would want to speak first again. "To help the hive with making helpful stuff."
"And?"
"And what?" I tilted my head. I mean, that's the rock board said.
"What else? Because that is not all that being a inventor is."
"... It's risking your life to help the hive, even if its not as heroic or as tragic... I think." Salus spoke up.
"Good job, that's a good definition, I'm impressed."
Ohh! So we were suppose to say what our hearts say it means. Aw...
Salvis stepped back until he was by the books, "If you were expecting us to just starting working with metal and gears, you'd be wrong, as we have to go over safety." He started to circle the empty classroom. "As you know from the Path Board, being a Inventor is the most dangerous job, and most of the deaths is caused by being stupid. Even the smartest inventor could die do to a overlooked mistakes. And though I can't stop you from forgetting, I'm going to make sure to try my hardest to make you remember safety."
That makes sense. I don't want to die prematurely just because I wasn't careful.
"Now, today we will go over three very important rules. Never take unnecessary risks, Always make your invention useful, and NEVER shall your invention be used to maliciously hurt another Sparkling. These are rules you must ALWAYS follow while inventing."
The lesson continued like that. He went a bit deeper into each of the three rules and after that we were free to go, I decided to talk to Salus a bit. Salvis exited the room shortly after he said we could go.
"Hey Salus!" I approached her happily.
"... Hello Flickers." She looked down.
Okay, how do I make friends... I mean, there is the way I used to make friends, but will it work?
"Do you want be friends?"
"Uh- I- huh?" I think I broke her, oops.
"Oh, well, it's okay if you don't want to!"
"No! I- yes, I'll be your friend. I don't want you to get upset..."
Upset? Why would I get upset over that? "Huh? Upset? Well, thank you! I have to go now before my siblings get worried."
"At the palace...?" She looked up at me with a questioning face.
"Sure, I guess. Anyways, bye!" I waved a hoof out before skipping out. Man, skipping's kind of hard as a bug pony... Oh well.
At least I have a new friend now!

Y'all I'm so sorry about not posting a new chapter for like... 3 month, I kind of forgot then remembered and got invested in writing again-
Anyways, three fun facts and a picture of an Average Sparkling:
There are four other hives with changeling deviations on Solus; the Buzzling hive, the Illusionling hive, and the regular Changeling hive.
Sparklings are usually half the size of regular changelings. That's one of the main reasons why they don't like to get into conflicts (Though, even though they are allied, Buzzlings sometimes call Sparklings wimps since they are smaller yet more aggressive.)
Solus started from fleeing changelings from an escaping hive. They spilt up, one group went to the Demented forest which started the first Buzzling, and the other fled to the other end of the island underground, which started the first Sparklings. Illusionlings were created by Changeling experimenting, they were meant to create a weapon that could help in war, but accidently created the first Illusionlings. The queen then escaped one day and started her hive. Though now, the history has been mixed up. every 'ling on Solus thinks that all 'lings other than changelings were created by changelings themselves.
