The Human Transformation Project

Inside his personal domain of immaterial existence, Anonymous, known throughout the multiple realms as the Green God, the Human Transporter, the Master of Profanity, or even the Pony-Fu... ahem.

Within his domain in the Connecting Realm, Anonymous, simply called 'Anon' by his fellow immaterials, laughed heartily as he watched various scenes of his 'test subjects' living their lives and going on adventures in the land of Equestria.

"Ha! I think I'm startin' to like this guy!" the ethereal entity exclaimed while pointing to one of the screens, which showed an armored nirik snapping off King Sombra's horn.

Anon turned to one of the screens with an intrigued look. Not that anybody would know, though, considering he only had a mouth and a question mark as facial features.

"Didn't expect this one to be such a nerd..."

He commented as he observed a group of ponies playing Ogres & Oubliettes, with none other than the Solar Tyrant Daybreaker herself as the Dungeon Master.

"Eh, maybe she'll start doing more shit later... hopefully. Makin' a new set of elements was a strong start..."

The entity then turned to another screen. This one showed an unreformed King Sombra, leading and earth pony and unicorn through a grass field towards a large city built atop a mountain.

"Good job so far, making great use of that phone I see."

With a swipe of his hand, yet another screen floated closer to him. Anon smiled when he saw a turquoise-antlered changeling king purchasing paint from an anthropomorphic pony shopkeeper. If one looked closely, they would see that the changeling was quadrupedal.

"He'll warm up to 'em eventually."

Beside that screen was another, slightly bigger one. It showed an alicorn variant of Midnight Sparkle gleefully capturing a Storm Fleet with her magic to add to her collection. It seemed like she was also showing off.

"Heh. Glad I chose her."

Anon continued to switch between dozens—if not, hundreds—of screens. Each one showing the current ongoings of each of his 'subjects'. A cosmic draconequus toying with Chrysalis' sanity, a centaur burying himself in spellbooks, a hippogriff maintaining a rack full of aquariums, a lanky shark-like Starlight Glimmer headbanging to heavy metal, an umbrum trying to stop Anon-A-Miss, a flat-maned Pinkie Pie opening a butchery. Every screen captured various moments of various creatures of differing origins, all piloted by human minds, all believing they're stuck in their own little world with their own little adventures. His little 'project' was going well, it seemed.

The immaterial entity chuckled, "Oh yeah, now this is what being a god's all about."

It had taken quite a bit of effort from his part, especially with the ones who needed reincarnatiom instead of transportation, but all in all, everything had gone wonderfully.

No more boondoggling in random Equestrias, messing around with ponies until he got bored, wiped everypony's minds and moved on to another. Anon found watching these so-called 'bronies' and 'pegasisters' live out their wildest dreams to be exceptionally entertaining. More so than doing the timeline and continuity breaking himself.

With a snap of his fingers, a recliner manifested into existence right behind him along with a bucket of popcorn and a can of soda floating beside it.

Anon threw himself on to his seat and continued to enjoy the show his subjects had generously—and unknowingly—offered him.

Unfortunately, his peace didn't last long.

In a flash of light, another entity entered Anon's domain. This individual took the form of a young, blonde-haired human female. Her outfit consisted of an orange shirt, blue jeans, a brown vest, and dark brown boots. An outfit one would typically associate with a more rural lifestyle, which contrasted Anon's more formal look.

Curious, Anon craned his neck to look at the newcomer. His question mark briefly straightened when he noticed who had arrived.

"Williams." he greeted curtly.

The other entity crossed her arms and gave him a somewhat amused look.

"It's been, what? Over a thousand cycles since we've met, and you still start with that?"

The suited entity turned back to his screens with a small huff.

"Fine. 'Hello, Megan.'" he said sarcastically.

Megan Williams could only shake her head at her fellow immaterial's antics. Just typical Anon behaviour, she thought.

"Still working on your project?"

Anon took a sip from his can.

"Byeah."

The girl stepped closer beside his recliner. She glanced at the collection of screens in front of Anon, and saw what she recognized as his supposed 'test subjects' of his recent 'project'.

"You sure do pick the most... interesting, people to transform." Megan commented.

Anon nodded halfheartedly, "Well, those angsty and moody types tend to get on my nerves. Better to get ones who would actually enjoy staying in Equestria instead of whining their ass off all the time."

He paused before gesturing towards the screen with the changeling king.

"Most of the time. But I assure you, Hemolymph's gonna learn to love it there. Even if he has to get over that stupid anthro-racism he has for some fuckin' reason."

A moment of silent viewing passed before Megan spoke up again.

"I see... and you like the ones who already know about Equestria specifically because... why again, exactly?"

The green entity took a handful of popcorn from the floating bucket and put some in his mouth before answering.

"I like it when they don't give a shit about the 'canon'. They're a lot less limited in autonomy that way."

The girl nodded silently. Anon always seemed to have a blatant disregard for the continuity's integrity, so it wasn't all that surprising.

"Are you going to add more, or is this enough?"

Anon sniffed in amusement, "Of course I'm adding more. I've got tons of ideas prepared for more of these guys. But these are gonna be a little bit different."

Megan looked at him curiously, "Different how?"

"For the next batch, I'll be talking to them directly. Maybe give 'em a quest or objective or... uh, I'll probably think of something by then."

She gave him a small nod and hum as a reply.

After another moment of watching, Megan gave him a pat on his shoulder.

"Welp, looks like I've gotta get going. Firefly's showing us a new trick later and I don't want to miss it."

Anon nodded, "Uh-huh. Bye then."

The girl waved him goodbye one last time before she disappeared in another flash of light.

Now alone once again, Anon waved a hand to summon a circular screen in front of him.

"Let's see... how about... transformed into Sunny Starscout... but she's there during Twilight's era?"

He rubbed his chin in thought. This could be a pretty interesting adventure for the chosen human.

"Eh, why not?"

Author's Note

Surprise! A small one-shot that ties in to the HiE stories that may or may not appear in the future, as well as the current ones into a single setting!

Here's also my personal take on Anon. I always like to think of him as his own character.

"Remembered forever, the land of Equestria"
